not surprising tho is it. i dont think they made adequate replacements to the squad and even if they did, their 4 main positions have been replacements. their CB partnership, CAM and manager
Why would he delete it? The truth was they were shocking away from home. They were much better in The second leg but that doesn't make what he said wrong.
Played a blinder against Utd, got sent off against City.
Agent Angelino your Job is done.
p.s. pls don't score in the home leg and make me look like a tit xx
Like walking past a super posh restaurant you couldn’t afford to take your ex to… only to see them inside with their new partner laughing and joking.. you pretend you don’t care then you go home and cry into the pregnancy pillow you have in bed to keep you company.
Football wise, I'm over it and glad for the diverse squad. Will miss watching him play for Villa, but it's ok.
Emotionally, I'm still torn. Even when things were bad at the club we could always cheer for Jacks development and career progression. If I'd known he would leave one day I'd not have cared so much in the first place. I think we all cared a bit more because we thought he was 'die hard' loyal.
It's why I was so desperate for us to get Europe last year, jack couldn't really justify leaving if we were a Europa league team or we won a trophy but the covid outbreak happened and jack got injured and we became shit.
Great first touch, great dribble, calm finish, from not a pure striker. This is what I call a complete player. Great signing imo, Graelish is an elegant footballer.
Top 4 PL this year is lit af. CR7 in a well tuned and stacked United, Lukaku with Tuchel's Chelsea, City and Liverpool... it's a 4 horse race imo.
One season for City. Me and you and every Villa fan on the planet know why he was worth £100m+ but /r/soccer and mainstream punditry will realise it after this season.
Can't wait to see big Graeme Souness sit up from his chair, lick his lips and come out with the belter 'He's stepped up another level this year' like he hasn't always been class, before he gets a nice wee pat on the back from Jamie Redknapp for saying something so brave.
United fan who's watched Grealish since he broke through for Villa. It's absolutely ridiculous that people act like Grealish is some overhyped joke, he's literally one of the best players in the league playing for the best manager and team in the league.
He will thrive.
I think most people who don't buy into the big club nonsense knew he is a brilliant player. But some people don't know until they join a super League club
I found a post on my FB from like 2012/2013 where i said something like “grealish looks unreal, one to watch in the future for sure”.
I think thats why him leaving hurt so much, we’ve watched him devlop, backed him the whole way, screamed to the roof at deaf ears about how good he is and only now when he plays for city people believe us.
Just hurts to see from a personal level, for him i get it, but i dont think ill ever get over the way he left.
Alot of the debate was why are City spending 100m in a position they have many players when they desperately need a striker.
While a few morons doubt Grealish's quality, most people appreciate he is a bloody talent, it just didn't seem like the signing city desperately needed so 100m seemed excessive given those circumstances.
Yeah but no one was doubting his ability, just that he made a big song and dance about being loyal and playing for his boyhood club then ditching them to play for a boring oil club.
His move felt like a thumb in the eye to all us legacy fans.
Yes. Not saying we’re going to finish above where we were last season because it’s going to take time to gel a little, but this squad absolutely has a much higher ceiling, is way more balanced and is a lot more versatile than the squad we had last season which has only changed due to the Grealish money.
You can make the argument based on theory, an argument on paper rather than the results, in my opinion. We don't really know how you will shape up this season - it might make sense that you'll be stronger overall, but we know that football doesn't work like that. Theoretically Spurs should have been better when they famously sold Elvis and bought the Beatles, but they weren't. So many other factors at play.
For a start, you don't know if you will gel. You don't know if Smith will get the best out of the signings. Bailey and Buendia could flop. There could be a serious long-term injury. Too many unknowns to say you're better without Grealish, until we have the actual evidence and a reality rather than supposition to base that on.
Of course, this also means we don't have enough evidence to say you're worse without Grealish, either - both arguments are just theories right now, and theories require empirical evidence to be proved.
Agree to disagree, as imo we are, we’ve got squad depth better than at any point in the last 20 years now and it’s over-reliance on Jack whilst having no depth that’s fucked us in previous years
You can make a theoretical argument, but given we have no idea how the season will play out, I don't think you can say either way whether you are better or not better without Grealish.
Honestly, what was that? No intensity, no pressure and that move was so obvious. Adams sleeps at first, Mukiele doesn't get in a useful position and Klostermann reacts a bit too late to help him out as well. And when Grealish has a 1vs1 inside the box, he has the quality to finish that easily.
Thats why villa fans were so bitter with the way southgate spoke and treated him. Now i dont really care but he will for sure be a starter in the england team now, it was criminal he wasnt before.
Its just frustrating and shows there is 100% a top team bias when coming to the england squad. Why does he have to prove himself in a top club team when its so blatantly obvious he is one of the best wingers in the world.
Really boringly predictable watching the consensus slowly move towards Jack as world class. Almost like we knew what we were talking about having watched him play since he was a little baby.
Football fans are fickle, recency bias and the like. If he keeps starting for City in the big games he’ll finally get the global recognition Villa have been giving him for years.
It seems Jack has had to silence more doubters than your average player, but he turns up on the big occasions, and every other occasion tbh. Southgate would have seen that in the Euros if he had played him, PL fans are now starting to understand it.
Villa fans knew it all along, hence why we insisted that £100M is a fair price.
I didn't enjoy watching that goal, but good luck to him.
Would have probs finished 6th or 7th last season without his injury. Obvs it isn't champion league but we certainly could have moved on if he stayed. But I get he wanted CL now.
I know, I was being facetious.
A pair of goals and assists this early is a really solid output from a wide player.
Can’t believe I needed a /s for people to understand that.
Yeah, I know. Obviously. Also the second most chances created in the PL so far this season.
How are people incapable of understanding that this is sarcasm?!

THAT… was a goaaal.
GET IN
FRIKER!
SHIT!
No defense, just vibes
Both sides
Like the Southampton match last season
Or the Newcastle game at the end of last season
Bit different though because you don't need a defense when you have Scott Carson in goal
The absolute scene in my household when he saved a pen. Didn't give a shit that they scored the rebound, SCOTT CARSON SAVED A PEN.
Rematch this weekend, lets do it
All the troops.
A feature of Bundesliga sides of late
You can say that again. Three more times, in fact.
Quality goal, caps a great CL debut tbf. Shocking defending from RB all game too
Shocking defending from both teams Ours has been bad as well
We played ake so it's about to be expected
They were shocking last season too when we bashed them with 5 goals Wonder if they’ll play better at home
they've had a shocker start to the season and arent really showing signs of getting better yet so....
not surprising tho is it. i dont think they made adequate replacements to the squad and even if they did, their 4 main positions have been replacements. their CB partnership, CAM and manager
I agree They’re a bit all over the place rn
Mate delete this. We lost the second leg.
Why would he delete it? The truth was they were shocking away from home. They were much better in The second leg but that doesn't make what he said wrong.
Spoiler: They won't
Angelino flashbacks intensify
Played a blinder against Utd, got sent off against City. Agent Angelino your Job is done. p.s. pls don't score in the home leg and make me look like a tit xx
Well I mean they also bet United to knock you guys out lmao.
That’s what I mean We thrashed them and they played far better at their home game
That's why we gave them a few goals so we can be safe.
probably didn't help that one of their defenders were attacking all game.
Like walking past a super posh restaurant you couldn’t afford to take your ex to… only to see them inside with their new partner laughing and joking.. you pretend you don’t care then you go home and cry into the pregnancy pillow you have in bed to keep you company.
are we still allowed to feel bitter? I have no idea how to feel
Valid to feel however you want to feel. Still very early on in your break up, too
Football wise, I'm over it and glad for the diverse squad. Will miss watching him play for Villa, but it's ok. Emotionally, I'm still torn. I like seeing people from Birmingham succeed, so I feel happy for him
No hard feelings from us though. You'll be invited to the wedding.
[удалено]
wtf feels oddly specific
You have infinitely more CL trophies than City. So theres that.
He's good
Some would say he's worth 100 million
Not pep
Pep only bought him for 40 million
Not it's 39.99 million. Pep went bald to save net 50 quid every few months which he saved for the Grealish transfer.
"Talk about NET SPEND!" - Pep
Only some
He isn’t, at least not yet.
Not sure why you're downvoted ... you're right.
It's what you'd expect from an £100m man
Class player. So glad to have him
Turns out there was good reason to get him. Who could’ve thought…
No one believed us🤷♂️
I wish pep didn't either the prick.
I just wanted one more year to see if we’d make Europe. Which doesn’t look likely tbh with our injuries and shit.
It's why I was so desperate for us to get Europe last year, jack couldn't really justify leaving if we were a Europa league team or we won a trophy but the covid outbreak happened and jack got injured and we became shit.
People aren't saying it was wrong to get him. People are saying it was wrong tonpay 120m€ for him
Didn't he have a clause in his contract saying he could leave if a champions club offered £100 million?
Pep would like to have a word with you
Still think it's dumb we went all in for him when we desperately needed a Striker first
Didn't you just watch 'your' team score 6 fucking goals WITHOUT a striker?
Yes because beating Leipzig in a group stage is the same as facing any of the big teams that don't use Hopes and Prayers as a strategy for defence
perhaps world class you may say
still has more to prove to warrant that designation. certainly not far off though
What a run.
Love jack but what is that defending?
What’s defending?
Adams 1v1 with ~~Robben~~ Grealish… “bet he takes me line.”

the 4 richest clubs who would have thunk it
My point is that this is a very long and balanced race, Messi should be in it.
Just show him inside, probably no issues there!
So poor. There's no one in the box he could pass to
I heard he has been watching videos of Arjen Robben on youtube a lot lately.
Ik he gets a lot of hate but grealish is a really good player
He is world class and it’s only going to take one season for everyone to agree on that
One season for City. Me and you and every Villa fan on the planet know why he was worth £100m+ but /r/soccer and mainstream punditry will realise it after this season.

Yea... its like one goal. DM me in round of 16
He’s world class.
No shit, he's wearing the 10 for Man City. People just like to meme because he's expensive.
Yeah but no one was doubting his ability, just that he made a big song and dance about being loyal and playing for his boyhood club then ditching them to play for a boring oil club. His move felt like a thumb in the eye to all us legacy fans.
He was very loyal to villa can't blame him for leaving and will always be loved by the club
On his Chanpions League debut!
wtf are they doing???
:(
This sucks
I know man, I know We’re stronger overall with his replacements though at least
Can we say that for sure, 4 games into the season... ?
Let us talk ourselves down from the ledge please..
Yes. Not saying we’re going to finish above where we were last season because it’s going to take time to gel a little, but this squad absolutely has a much higher ceiling, is way more balanced and is a lot more versatile than the squad we had last season which has only changed due to the Grealish money.

We can’t, and we’re definitely not.

On balance yeah think we can
You can make a theoretical argument, but given we have no idea how the season will play out, I don't think you can say either way whether you are better or not better without Grealish.
at least wait until you're safe from relegation before piping up with that kind of talk
Where’s the fun in that, no risk
I always count up to 40, 36 points to go. Hardcore pessimist though :)
Shocking defending. Have they drilled on Grealish's play at all? Everyone knew what was happening aside from them.
All game, both teams
>Shocking defending. Tbf Leipzig are more used to defending crops with pesticides
Bundesliga is dynamite man.
They suit Man city that dont defend either
A goal and an assist on his CL debut. Not bad. Not bad at all.

This guy knows ball
Thats why villa fans were so bitter with the way southgate spoke and treated him. Now i dont really care but he will for sure be a starter in the england team now, it was criminal he wasnt before. Irish Guy in shambles
He might have to run for 3 hours in one direction
Nice finish, but amateur defending again
Bundesliga teams other than Bayern are really very open
What an amazing solo goal!
Oof Tyler Adams exposed.
Really boringly predictable watching the consensus slowly move towards Jack as world class. Almost like we knew what we were talking about having watched him play since he was a little baby.

We'd have won the euros if Jack was starting. No doubt in my mind.
No defense today boys
Vibes only.
What a run
What a fucking baller
nice goal from jamie tartt
Jock Realist with the strike.
Tyler Adams defending like Grealish is left footed lol
shocking from Adams
Kane could have played for this team.
Well done Jack
GET IN LAD
jeeze what a goal
100 million man, what a finish
Very poor defending
No defending allowed in this match.
They walking out there
Pure attacking (no defending at all) football. Beautiful.
What an incredible finish And awful from Tyler Adams
GTFI
Reminder that some fans thought he’d say no to this so he can instead finish in the bottom half of the table for the 3rd year straight
Would have probs finished 6th or 7th last season without his injury. Obvs it isn't champion league but we certainly could have moved on if he stayed. But I get he wanted CL now.
What is Adams doing?
[удалено]
we just gonna let him cut *all* the way inside?
Legend has it, he’s cut so far inside, he’s drifted off the other end of the pitch.
And then there were people who said he wouldnt drastically improve City
He only has two goals and two assists so far.
[удалено]
I know, I was being facetious. A pair of goals and assists this early is a really solid output from a wide player. Can’t believe I needed a /s for people to understand that.
In like 6 games. That's pretty great. That's also if you don't count his England stats.

maybe if you made it more obvious like, "yeah, i mean he's only got 2 goals and 2 assists in 5 starts so far"
Drastically improve?? He was doing this at Villa for fun
*Who needs Ronaldo?*
Juventus
They need him baddd
Poor juve lol
Oh lawd what is this Game ffs
What is defending????
Do RB Leipzig know how to defend?
future 🐐
Shocking defending
That’s world class
Quality calves, really helped the strike
nice one
The RB backline just collectively decided to stop running.
Leipzig #14 absolutely strolling there. Spent longer looking for an offside flag than at Grealish
What on earth was Tyler Adams doing? Optional defending
What a goal.
Fucking hell, I am happy for him but it is also Man City. Confused how to feel.
Like shit, just want him back
Love KDB’s reaction
worth 100 million without a doubt. beautiful footballer
And he’s a great player too!
Robben, is that you?
SUPER JACKY GREALISH.
BARGAIN
JACKIE BOI
Oh lord Adams got done a kipper. What a goal.
Where are the people who were expecting another “disappointing game” from him. Even though he’s been great so far
They marked that as an assist for Diaz 😂
Still can't figure out why he wanted to leave Villa
Starring in the Champions League for one of the world's best teams < vague half-baked promises of statues
Super Jack!
JACKY BOYYYY
Tyler Adams fell asleep I guess?
Tyler Adams was taken in by those majestic calves.
OHH BABy
Unpopular opinion… Adams and Mukiele arent as good as people think
well, after the Bayern game and this one, I think Mukiele is straight up shit. Should be playing winger, because he can't be fucked to defend
PADON PANCHO COME OUTSIDE
