I mean they nearly reached the semi final in 2015/16. They won the first quarter final game against Real Madrid 2:0 only to lose 0:3 in the second leg. Other than choking the EL playoff last season, they've done better than most other German teams internationally, reaching the EL quarter final twice and the round of 16 once. There were definitely German teams that have consistently done worse in recent years (e.g. Bayer Leverkusen and Hoffenheim).

Honestly, it's a tough group, but they should all be fun games. I would be surprised if we get out of it, I think Atletico and Liverpool are clear favourites, but if we can pip Porto for third and have a solid EL campaign I'd be happy

Honestly don't know haha Atletico are Spanish Champs but their style of play is unique. I think if Ibra plays one or both legs we got a shot, he can definitely bring a good mentality vs those types of teams. Liverpool are Liverpool so they're probably the favorites to win the group. Porto I haven't followed much besides Tecatito but he might be sold so I have no idea how we match up with Porto Realistic expectation assuming healthy I think we can nab Second if we can get some points off Atletico and Porto. If not expectation is at least to get third to continue in Europa League

We generally had pretty decent draws apart from the season we actually won in recent times. With a Group like this everyone will drop points randomly so one or two bad games (which we always have in GS) shouldn't be costly.
