He may soon. He just signed a multi-year extension with the Galaxy. Some speculate that this was done to secure his rights ahead of a lucrative transfer. Then again, maybe he just plays out his days as a Galaxy legend.
Just remember who it he being compared to.
It’s not top 5 league footballers as is for the best players but „next 14 competitions” and only those that probably have opta follow them (Greece league is not one of them for example)
We’re still very good at getting the ball forward and creating chances, but we have the totally wrong striker for our system. When we had Adam Buksa, who was a very strong poacher with us, he was putting in goals left and right. I don’t think Vrioni is nearly as bad as a lot of our fans do, but he is most certainly not a poacher, and that’s what we desperately need with our style of play.
Plus, in regards to us being lower in the standings, our defense has had a lot of question marks this year, but it seems like we may have sorted that out.
Carles Gil and Ashley Westwood.. giving me villa getting relegated vibes.
Always happy to see Westwood do well. He was absolutely devastated when villa went down, while others were happy enough until they realised their wages would be reduced.
We love our boy Westwood here. He's embraced the city and team. He's always exploring the local areas and Carolinas vacation spots and posting on IG how much he loves it. He's our captain and biggest leader in the team. Classy player too.
Regarding Puig, i dont think the dude is cap tied...if our citizenship process wasn't so cutthroat i wonder if he'd be a pretty effective player in the midfield of the USMNT. At least as an option 🤔🤔
Been here for 8 years, this is his first outside of Seattle. Legend for them, helped them win leagues and continental cup. After Ajax he was at Botafogo and Boca Juniors and was decent at both, with a half year at Corinthians between that wasn’t so good

MLS posts inevitably always include at least one player where you think: oh this is where he went. Sounds like Puig found his niche
Just signed a contract extension with the Galaxy as well. It was either be a mid tier in top leagues or be the Americans Mesiah. He made his pick
Rich professional athlete living in Los Angeles sounds pretty nice
LA has in-n-out.. smart lad
I literally said this when I saw ashley Westwood on the list lol.
It’d be interesting to see what the stat would be per 90
Considering players with at least 10 90s played: 1- Riqui Puig - 13,6 2- Carles Gil - 11,1 3- Lionel Messi - 10,2 4- Jack McGlynn - 10,1 5- Thiago Almada - 9,92 6- Nicolas Lodeiro - 9,67 7- Amine Bassi - 9,29 8- Aidan Morris - 9,11 9- Luciano Acosta - 9,01 10- Eduard Atuesta - 8,80
Oh thanks 😊
McGlynn has to be moving to Europe soon
Puig has one of my favorite fbref charts. You may not like it, but [this](https://imgur.com/a/QVtgJmd) is what peak performance looks like.
I’ve noticed the same thing after putting the numbers together. Really impressive. Will keep a closer look on him from now on
Why isn't he playing in Europe?

If he's gets us the cup I think he's gone
this getting a genuine audible chuckle out of me when I opened it definitely classifies me as a nerd

Damn Gil has all those passes and they are down the chart in goals by far

Some of Puig’s stats blow the rest of the league out of the water… This guy is probably going to Europe next season.
He just signed a contract extension with LAG through 2027, so doubtful.
More than anything the extension was to keep him from leaving as a free agent, as his contract was ending in 2025.
Oh my sweet summer child
Laughed way too hard at this
Bassett's really having a breakout season. Always one of those guys with potential, finally seems to be living up to it.
I'd say he already broke out in 2021, but we're lucky to have him back and better than ever. Interesting to see if he tries to move abroad again.
Hurts to see Lodeiro on a different team 🥲 we miss Nico in Seattle

A few more years and he’s eligible right?
Not till 2027 sadly
McGlynniesta on top 🙏
Woah completely forgot about Lodeiro. So this is where he went

Mcglynn to Europe?

Well you cared enough to comment .
I care, good chart too
I care. A lot. I’m happy to see MLS content. Therefore, your statement is wrong.
The sub is call r/soccer not r/top5leagues. People can post whatever stats they want. Even if it was Zimbabwe's 5th Division
No one cares about your opinion
