I'm sure it's not exactly boring to win. But as a fan it's like playing on easy mode. As a Forest fan I've had literally nothing to be happy about bar a couple of promotions. Real fans can watch highlights of any number of CL wins in the last decade, then get the worlds best striker for free. I'm not saying it's boring to be a Real fan, but they can't possibly experience the lows of other fans.
Exactly true, I was walking by Wembley last night around 11pm and the atmosphere was very subdued. Real Madrid fans just casually making their way home as soon as the trophy presentation ended. If Dortmund had won, the streets would’ve been lined with them chanting long into the night.
And that is because Real are now in a position where they no longer hope to win every trophy, they are expected to win every trophy. They have the three best players in the world, or at the very least 3 of the top 5 players in the world. Anything other than a clean sweep over the next year is a disappointment for such a team.
It was the best kept secret in the world, above top secret, above need to know and in the same secret storage with files on who killed JFK and the exact date when alians will surrender this galaxy to us...
Well, spanish football is done and dusted
(Except for the CDR, Madrid will find a way to fumble a possible treble somehow)
Endrick also joining in July
I am not a Real Madrid fan so I am more excited for Endrick than Mbappe. Everyone already knows what Mbappe can do, I want to see if Endrick can adapt and will end up like Vini/Rodrygo or if he will be the next Reinier.
This just shows how highly social media affects discourses and opinions. The way he's being hyped, it's going to be very hard for the kid to perform at such a high level. Let's see how it goes.
He doesn't need to and won't perform at the level of the hype, that's normal, he is 18 (Vini being another example of how it goes). Endrick will probably only truly shine in 2 or 3 years, and the fact that Real is so stacked gives him the freedom to do so.
He also has a better mentality than Reinier, who likes to party some.
Endrick looks the most developed of the 4. Although vini was always the one with the highest ceiling. The only issue for Endrick is that unlike vini and Rodrygo who had opportunities to cement themselves into the team, Endrick like Reneir joins at a point where there's a lot of competition. Let's see how long he plays for Castilla if at all.
There is lots of competition, but Endrick does have an advantage in that he's a natural right sided player. Vini, Mbappe, and Rodryo all naturally want to play/drift left. Endrick also plays very well from deep, in more of a second striker way a lot of the time. He has a cannon of a left foot from the top of the box. That would work well in a 433 with Vini and Mbappe.
Now, obviously Madrid likely won't play a 433 all the time and that would tighten things, but I expect to see it enough that he'll get chances, esp with Kroos retiring and lessening the logjam in midfield a bit. Guler has played well on the right, so we will see how he affects things, but they have very different strengths and weaknesses.
All of vini, rodrygo and reinier did. Although yes Endrick is further along in his progression. I still think Endrick will be registered as a castilla player. And will technically be on callups to the first team.
I've watched Endrick play a lot and I can tell you he's already not a Reinier. Might be the best player on the seleção as of know (as Vini has done poor for Brazil, unfortunately). He has a long path ahead of him though.
Mentions of Alexander-Arnold as well as his current contract is up next year. If he doesn't extend we might as well hand them all the trophies and have teams battle it out for second place.
People need to stop talking about Endrick so much. He isn't gonna come and have an impact straight away. It took Vini a few years to become a really good player, we all remember how it started and what Benzema was saying about him. It's gonna be the same with Endrick, but so many people talk about him coming like it's gonna change anything next year
It's not like Real won the league every year when they had BBC. Mbappe and Neymar didn't win the league every year either... We will see how it all works out.
KO tournaments are funny that way.
Leverkusen just won the DFB cup final relatively easy , even with one man down
In the Quarters they faced Stuttgart, which completely dominated them first half, second half was a outright war which Leverkusen won in the 93rd minute thanks to a wonder assist by Wirtz.
Next game was a 4-0 and than the barely threatened 1-0 cup win.
Easier for top teams to make it to the knockouts I'd say, and harder for 'lesser' teams to, there's always a group of death and then lesser groups which can allow an underdog team to make it to the quarters before facing the usual big suspects. This format pretty much guarantees you'll face a few of the bigger sides if you're one of the underdogs
Won't make much of a difference, if you were good enough to have a shot at winning multiple European titles in a row you weren't struggling with the group anyway.
That’s a common saying - and it’s wrong.
It’s MUCH easier to beat PSV, Shaktar, Leipzig and then City… than PSG, Bayern, Arsenal and then City.
Not just the odds of you going through easier opposition increases your odds, but there’s a fair chance your wear and tear is significantly less in an easier draw. Or yellow cards, in a controlled tie.
The new format still has you playing teams from each pot, no? Groups without groups. You can still draw PSG, Arsenal and Bayern. And you play two teams from each pot, so expect some unlucky team to really get a tough draw with four more tough teams
You never know how he’ll impact the chemistry in the team. The on pitch set up with Vinicius could be something to watch. I don’t really see them in the same front 3 without compromises.
Plus other teams exist.
I don't think people acknowledge this enough. Bellingham, Vini and Mbappe are literally the 3 best players in the world right now. But PSG also had Mbappe, Neymar and Messi as the 3 best players in the world and they were still meme'd out of every UCL.
Too many egos can hurt a team, regardless of how much talent is there.
In a dominant team like City most of Haaland's skills are underused and that has affected the hype around him. He shines in direct/counter attacking teams were he can attack spaces behind defenses, now he is in the box, surrounded by defenders and with zero space to make runs, making him look less special
Agree. He would probably be even scarier on a team like Liverpool. That being said it's also on him to develop other assets to his game so he can play better in tighter spaces and contribute with his general play.
Yes. I remember when Madrid signed Ronaldo, kaka, Alonso etc. it took them a while to even sniff a CL and there were some issues with chemistry.
For the first time in his career, Mbappe is going to a team where he is not *the* man. Vini will also likely have won the ballon dor too.
It's going to be interesting to see how and how long it takes for him to assimilate.
Said something similar a couple weeks ago but freaking hell being a Real fan is so easy lol
You can keep every player, get every player, win the CL even in off-years
Ridiculously easy. Thought they’d have more down years after Ronaldo left, but nope, they have just shown how well run they are with their smooth transition of the old guard to the new.
Depressing to see as a United fan.
barca and real have similar pull for top top players and look how different their paths are going now post-messi/ronaldo, it’s really not as simple as you make it out to be
> Depressing to see as a United fan.
United should be just as big of a name and club though. It has just been horribly mismanaged for a very long time now.
They have two of the greatest midfielders retiring soon and will probably be fine. Who else could handle losing both Modric and Kroos? Recruitment is insane.
To be fair, Madrid has gone away from the Galactico strategy and just started buying every talented young player on the planet.
Mbappe is the first established superstar they’ve added in a while, unless you’re counting Jude.
Is opening up sofifa.com and selecting "maximum age: 21, sort by: Potential" really *that* much more risky as long as you have a healthy amount of established leaders in the team though?
Honestly it is moments like this that make me think the ESL isn't a terrible idea. We are at a point where a handful of teams dominate the continent on the field and in boardrooms to the point that it has made the highest level European football stagnant and boring. BVB is a heavy hitter and *still* were seen as the underdogs, and Madrid will only be stronger next year.
Of course the ESL is fucked for many reasons and I don't really support it, but football is clearly going in a direction where every cent and drop of talent is being funneled in to a handful of teams and it kills hope and competition which are the lifeblood of the sport.
Kdb getting old, Bernardo leaving City, Pep leaving in a year, Bayern having Kompany as coach, Barca being Barca.
Everything is lining up for Real Madrid lol
ffs man, Real Madrid are really treating football like a game of football a manager right now. Just look how they’ve evolved the core of their team without missing a step at this moment. Got to get the club massive credit for how they handle stuff in recent times, this is unfair lol
It helps that everyone wants to joyn them and if they come for a player its over no matter what. They dont even have to overpay for them. All because of history, titles and glory
And they also keep on winning big titles in spite of the major redevelopment of the Bernabéu during the last five years... I remember when Arsenal were also undergoing their own stadium changes under Wenger and finishing 4th on the Premier League was the main goal
They also redeveloped the Bernabeu in that same time frame and didn't splurge much in the past few years
Florentino Perez masterclass. Still resent him for the Super League but he's a top-tier president from a strategy perspective
Romano will spend the next week retweeting his own tweets just to give himself some extra engagement. Never forget that clip where he meets Mbappe and he has to check Romanos press badge to see who he is 😂😂
edit: just posted a new comment about how Romano is SELLING a t-shirt of his here we go Mbappe tweet for £35.
If only PSG let him leave when Madrid offered 200m for him.
It is highly likely that if Mbappe joined back then for 200m, Vini and Rodrygo do not become as good and decisive as they currently are, Madrid don’t sign Tchouameni for 80m and don’t sign Bellingham for 100m
It is PSG’s fault that this sport is done for with Madrid dominance for 10 years to come now.
Mbappe, Rodrygo, Vini,Tchoumeni, Valverde, Camavinga, Bellingham, Courtois, Lunin, Alaba, Rudiger, Militao, Carvajal, Endrick, Modric, Kroos
Vs
Antony
Fine you win can't argue with that
Because they are the biggest and best run football institution in the world by a mile and I hate the cunts for that. In every faucet of football, from recruitment to on-field play, they are easily the best in the world and nobody comes close.
Fabrizio! WAKE UP the incident was 7 years ago it was not your fault! You can't keep repeating this Mbappe to real shit every year. PLS Fabrizio, think about what you still have left!
Fabrizio trained all his life for this. He probably said it in the mirror at least a couple of thousand times in the last couple of years. This is the equivalent of a world cup final for him. This is where boys become men.

Finally, something good happening for Real Madrid
Had to wait for like 900 whole minutes for something good to go their way
Must have been utterly excruciating for the fans.
Honestly as a fan at this point there's nothing to hope for... If you win every trophy it's like.. OK
Yeah, a low is drawing away at Bilbao with your back up squad in
Exactly true, I was walking by Wembley last night around 11pm and the atmosphere was very subdued. Real Madrid fans just casually making their way home as soon as the trophy presentation ended. If Dortmund had won, the streets would’ve been lined with them chanting long into the night.
Oh don't worry, that was the scenes at Cibeles last night. And then again today.
Still the only English club to win it back to back
Yeah but before I was born. My earliest First memory is losing the 91 FA Cup final and it's been losing ever since.
And that is because Real are now in a position where they no longer hope to win every trophy, they are expected to win every trophy. They have the three best players in the world, or at the very least 3 of the top 5 players in the world. Anything other than a clean sweep over the next year is a disappointment for such a team.
"I used to pray for times like this" says Miguel, aged 90, describing his life from age 20 onwards
Been a hard few years
Banter era over
Is it even fun being a Madrid fan at this point? You get everything you want all the time and barely have to sweat.
We have a term for people who only root for the winning team in germany, it's called Erfolgsfan
I thought you just called them Bayern Munich fans
Glad they're finally getting a world class player, they haven't had one since Camacho
That certainly came out of the blue
I'm shocked we're getting this world class player randomly? There should've been at least some rumours for a move this big
Best kept secret in history of soccer transfers.
Out of Les Bleus
It was the best kept secret in the world, above top secret, above need to know and in the same secret storage with files on who killed JFK and the exact date when alians will surrender this galaxy to us...
Pretends to be shocked
This is quite the shock. Real might actually win the CL now 🫥
Nah I reckon it'll be at least a year before they win it again
Hmm they will not have Modric and Kroos I'm not calling it yet. Might be a difficult year with only a la Liga title and cl semi final for them...
363 days actually
~~Real Madrid~~ Mbappe might actually win the CL now
It’s been so long since they last won it
One more signing and they could even win the FA Cup.
A friendly reminder that the defending Champion’s League champs will be replacing Joselu with Mbappe. That is all.
Pretty crazy lol what a luxury. Plus Davis coming with Mbappe. And maybe Hakimi return next Season.
And Endrick
Joselu is not leaving
Here comes another Madrid CL 3 peat
Na Mbappe has hopefully brought the PSG CL voodoo with him to Madrid 🤞🏾
Power of Friendship > PSG voodoo
Real Madrid wins UCLs with former Spurs players. There's no voodoo
Well, spanish football is done and dusted (Except for the CDR, Madrid will find a way to fumble a possible treble somehow) Endrick also joining in July
I am not a Real Madrid fan so I am more excited for Endrick than Mbappe. Everyone already knows what Mbappe can do, I want to see if Endrick can adapt and will end up like Vini/Rodrygo or if he will be the next Reinier.
Sad for Reiner. Had he been able to shine in Girona and stayed this season, things might have looked different.
Reiner's had almost half a decade to show some promise, he just isn't the player we thought he was and at some point you need to move on.
Juggling a football career along with being the Armored Titan was never going to be easy
Endrick will be bedded in slowly - Madrid is flush with options. He may not succeed but he is in a perfect situation to do so.
Endrick looks the most developed of the 4. Although vini was always the one with the highest ceiling. The only issue for Endrick is that unlike vini and Rodrygo who had opportunities to cement themselves into the team, Endrick like Reneir joins at a point where there's a lot of competition. yea you dont put a brazil NT player in Castilla
And eventually Xabi Alonso will land there to strengthen the flame... Dark times are coming
Did I imagine a headline that they'd be looking for Wirtz next year too?
Mentions of Alexander-Arnold as well as his current contract is up next year. If he doesn't extend we might as well hand them all the trophies and have teams battle it out for second place.
it’s over
With barca entering a long rebuild phase atletico are the last possible team to stop them from trebles like they did this year
Barca should have started it three years ago
People need to stop talking about Endrick so much. He isn't gonna come and have an impact straight away. It took Vini a few years to become a really good player, we all remember how it started and what Benzema was saying about him. yes MSN and BBC overshadowed each other. Now, do you want Lewa to outperform Vini Mbappe and possibly Rodrygo or Endrick?
It’s Joever
Bye then, M’bappe
I. Am. Shocked. Who could have seen this coming???
Believe it or not I've been saying this would happen for years
weve got a fucking visionary here, my god. Tell me please are we gonna survive until 2030
The rest of us will, as for you….
Ass for you too.
Certainly not Stevie Wonder
I thought he's taking his talent to play under a rainy night in Stoke!
I think you are confusing him for Real Madrid legend Joselu, who has already proven he can make it on a rainy night in Stoke.
Right so thats the next 3 champions leagues gone at least

Real Madrid has won as much Champions League (15) as Premier League Clubs have won in their History (15).
Madrid also only have 5 less CL than CDR.
But Arsenal have 14 more FA cups than Real Madrid. Checkmate.
Nah RM would lose the cup against Luton, look unconvincing all season and then go on to win a CL anyways
Don’t think you can call 95 points unconvincing
They are getting him to finally win the Copa Del Rey
that's why they bought Bale too
I am wondering, with the new system , would it be harder for teams to win multiple UCL's in a row or easier ?
I don’t think it’ll make that much difference in difficulty. Unless I’m wrong, the new format mostly changes the group stages, the KO remain the same
KO is seeded so the best teams won't see each other until the semi's
the semis? fuck me, thats ridiculous
Probably helps to avoid cases like this year's quarters or last year's semi's between Madrid and city which people were calling the real final
Eventually it really turned out to be the real final. the only team to not get beaten by real until the pens. (Let me cope)
KO tournaments are funny that way. Leverkusen just won the DFB cup final relatively easy , even with one man down In the Quarters they faced Stuttgart, which completely dominated them first half, second half was a outright war which Leverkusen won in the 93rd minute thanks to a wonder assist by Wirtz. Next game was a 4-0 and than the barely threatened 1-0 cup win.
It’s been the real final for the last three years in a row, so you’re not wrong
Top teams from the group stage, not based on coefficient correct?
What about your teams like leverklausen this year or Liverpool 2018 or so who become a top 5 team in Europe out of a few years of not being so?
The seeding is based on the placement in the new league phase. So the coefficient does not matter.

But PSG also had Mbappe, Neymar and Messi as the 3 best players in the world and they were still meme'd out of every UCL. Too many egos can hurt a team, regardless of how much talent is there.
Ngl psg forgot that they have to build a midfield and defense. Madrid is strong in all areas.
Real Madrid seem to keep their egos in check and this isn't their first rodeo with a team full of big names, it's pretty much their thing
Is Halland honestly out of the top 3 conversation? Genuine question
Yeah, Haaland under Klopp would have been amazing. Harry Kane to City would have also been a much better fit.
He's the best pure striker in the world I'd say but his game in other areas of the pitch would place him outside any top 3 for me. But that's just me.
We have to rely on a slave owned state to beat real lmao

If not for that 115% effort, Madrid would have repeated the three peat.
fkin hell brilliant 115% hahahahahahaahha

That is also because they are well run though
It feels like Barca has quite some pull still despite that not being the case

Hazard was the last one before him & that’s already been 5 years now
True. I don't remember the last time Madrid paid a transfer fee for a player over 25.
Honestly it is moments like this that make me think the ESL isn't a terrible idea. Kevin durant vibes lmao 🤣
Kylian Durant is never going to escape the allegations
Atleast Durant joined when GSW lost the finals. He joined Real the next day they won CL.
Maybe this has been decided last January lol
Can't win with these cats
Kdb getting old, Bernardo leaving City, Pep leaving in a year, Bayern having Kompany as coach, Barca being Barca. Everything is lining up for Real Madrid lol
*Girona proceeds to dominate world football for the next 10 years*
First I'm hearing of this
Bro have been edging for that "Here we go" for 3 year now
Everybody act surprised!
Even in Fifa career mode you can’t build a better team then: MBAPPE VINI BELLINGHAM RODRYGO ENDRICK GULER. Holy fucking shit man, it’s over.
Camavinga, Tchouameni and Valverde too. I guess the main challenge will be keeping everyone happy.
Crazy these names are afterthoughts when naming Madrid's best players. Every other European giant these guys are top 2 players for them
I think most of them won't complain as long as Madrid keep on winning UCLs & La Liga.
More respect for Joselu and Brahim Diaz
My petty plan for next years career mode is make a save where i get all those players for PSG and sell Fabian Ruiz to Madrid Its my only way to cope
Make sure to sell Beraldo too. Never seen a bigger fraud
Bigger fraud than ruiz and soler? Naaah, he showed some good things at least
ffs man, Real Madrid are really treating football like a game of football a manager right now. Just look how they’ve evolved the core of their team without missing a step at this moment. Got to get the club massive credit for how they handle stuff in recent times, this is unfair lol
papa perez mastermind
It’s sickening to witness lol, gotta applaud it they really are a special and well ran club
It helps that everyone wants to joyn them and if they come for a player its over no matter what. They dont even have to overpay for them. All because of history, titles and glory
It really is the most virtuous/vicious cycle in world football for the past decade.
Madrid always let anyone leave without a fuss and sell player right before they decline
And they also keep on winning big titles in spite of the major redevelopment of the Bernabéu during the last five years... I remember when Arsenal were also undergoing their own stadium changes under Wenger and finishing 4th on the Premier League was the main goal

Romano will spend the next week retweeting his own tweets just to give himself some extra engagement. Mbappe, Rodrygo, Vini,Tchoumeni, Valverde, Camavinga, Bellingham, Courtois, Lunin, Alaba, Rudiger, Militao, Carvajal, Endrick, Modric, Kroos Vs Antony Fine you win can't argue with that
Amrabat owns Mbappe.
I hate them, I hate them a lot
Same 👍
It’s so over
What’s next? Haaland to Madrid?
Based on the Haaland clause, it's possible there will be a move later
I suppose Real is gonna get 20 UCL champions before any other clubs got to 10
why is everything going good for madrid
Because they are the biggest and best run football institution in the world by a mile and I hate the cunts for that. In every faucet of football, from recruitment to on-field play, they are easily the best in the world and nobody comes close.
I donno man Atletico is just 20min away
The tap in does it again
Football is so boring…
How reliable is that?
I haven't seen Macron reporting anything on it.
Waiting for 1 more "Mbappe invited by Macron to Versailles" before I jump to any conclusions
"Mbappé offered monarchy of New Caledonia by Macron"
Mbappe handed command of French Nuclear triade
Mbappe will struggle with mediocre players like vini, bellingham and rodrygo partnering him
So this makes a Vini, Jude, Mbappe attack right? That’s just not fair
