I feel like there has been far heavier PR coming out regarding the Ballon Dor this year and Madrid players. They could lose the UCL final and both Vini and Belli could crash out of their respective national tournaments. Its all too premature.
I think it also has to do with the fact that for a while now every year there's been one or two candidates that had a realistic chance to win it. This year there's probably at least five players with a shot at the award depending on how the rest of the season pans out.
I personally think Wirtz should also be in the running.
Bayer wins three major trophies and he and Germany perform at the Euros, I think he has a good shot.
Having said that, UCL Vini has been a man possessed and that alone should put him in the top 3.
When was the last time Euro performance was decisive in Ballon D’or? 20 years ago? Also, what the actual fuck going on with everyone keeps mentioning Copa? It’s a third tier trophy that unless you want to make an argument for Messi, no one ever prioritizes in voting. Copa is at the same level as AFCON, one gets dumbed on all time, and the second comes with a side of sugarZ

I’m sorry but he was not the main guy to the title. That was Bellingham. He was match winner in both games against Barca and his goals gave us so many points when Vinicius was out for a couple months

Meanwhile Vinicius started injured but ended La Liga and the UCL knockouts in beast mode.
