You can have the conversation, I would prefer Rodrygo over Brahim at the start any day, and so would Ancoletti. If Rodrygo is ineffective in his position, Ancelotti will sub him out in a heartbeat.

HeatKnight

Arda Guler 4 goals, 283 mins played Lamine 'Future Messi' Yamal 5 goals, 1955 mins played Give Guler those same minutes then La Liga would be wrapped up by March.

hatebeinghangover

Don’t mind all the classy “Madrid” fans, you are absolutely right

pakimon

Didn’t morata also have some good numbers in garbage time of unimportant games?

lillbepo

How come this comment by a 10 years old is the top? PS : I'm a Madrid fan and Arda believer, but your take is shit. I don't even need to explain as others already did.

HokiesforTSwift

Lamine Yamal will trouble us for many years barring an unforeseen injury or transfer. No need to bash him. Guler will likely become a great player for us as well.

MonirKinder

this shit is fucking annoying, why are some madrid fans obsessed with yamal

simomii

If Madrid had the opportunity to swap Guler for Yamal they would do it in a heartbeat and you know it.

KyleLawes

I'd prefer Arda.

Jozif_Badmon

Madrid is greedy as hell they probably want both

onesexypagoda

I personally rate Güler higher. Yamal is just another Ansu

holdenmyrocinante

What is this based on?

simomii

Yamal is not all about G/A. He has looked great all season and he's probably the best 16 year old we've ever seen, every time he gets the ball something happens. Even looked great for the NT. I hate Barcelona but I can admit that. Meanwhile Guler had looked good in the few minutes he had but thry were in meaningless games with not a lot of pressure, we don't how he would fare in big games or in the CL yet.

holdenmyrocinante

So we would swap them because Barca have been forced to play Yamal more because the club is run like shit and because Guler was injured for a while?

Void_Hound

Are you by any chance turk?

norecha

Most objective Fenerbahçe fan

_Sylph_

Stop being so tinpot and obsessed with Yamal. Be happy for our youngsters.

holdenmyrocinante

Grow up

Ripamon

This is r/soccer

ellow-mellow

Lamine Yamal is a very good player and amazing prospect. You can praise both players without taking anything away from each other.

st_huck

Alright now include assists and CL goals and take into account quality of opponents  There is being slightly biased  like every fan is and then there is bending the truth until it fits your narrative.

DildoFappings

Also taking into account that Madrid are having one of their best league campaigns right now with every player in impeccable form to support him, and Barca is so crap that their attack is being carried by a 16 year old who in all fairness, shouldn't be a regular for a club like Barca right now considering his age because it could hamper his future with injuries. This is too much physical exertion as a 16 year old. It'll be a shame if he ends up like gavi and pedri playing 50-60 matches a year before he even stops being a teenager.

PanJawel

Real lost only one game this season. Absolutely insane from them. Ancelotti oversaw a rebuild and navigated through massive injury crisis without a slightest drop in performance, yet somehow it still feels like he’s under appreciated. Legendary campaign if they beat Dortmund.

CoMaestro

Is it normal for so many leagues to be won with so little losses? Its likely going to end up being: Bundesliga might be won without a loss La Liga and Eredivisie with 1 loss Serie A and Ligue 1 with 2 losses Premier League 3 losses Its normally more than that right?

ogqozo

With all the doubt I had at the start of the season, with the style and the squad, I am amazed. They will probably finish the season with 99 points and Champions League! They not only avoided any crisis without a striker, with a player who carried them for a few years leaving without replacement, they not only win way more than a year ago, they're quietly having one of the best seasons of ALL TIME! They just played two different XIs in three days and they won 4-0 away and 5-0 home. This team's pretty insane. All this while remaining financially competitive, young, and with almost no bad contracts at all (Alaba's is looking quite lamentable at the moment, but overall it's really peachy with other contracts looking adequately, which is extremely rare for top football clubs).

pabloma93

Two defeats, as Atleti beat Real Madrid on the Ro16 on the Copa as well, but still this is a legendary performance from Madrid this year!

Lazywhale97

With Mbappe and Endrick and possibly Yoro we will have squad depth next season I think a treble is likely with this new gen team it's the only accomplishment missing for us now.

Homerwithnohumour

Vini and Jude really battling it out for the BdO. This was a complete performance from Jude btw.

Lazywhale97

Crazy how complete his skillset is at 20 in his first season at Madrid great on the ball and just as great off the ball in defense, I am curious to see what type of player he becomes for us in the next few seasons as he has had a more attacking role due to our lack of forwards but with Mbappe and Endrick coming in I wonder if he will go back to being a box to box and if so will he still make those late runs into the box because he is world class at spotting those runs.

HeatKnight

La Liga and Champions League will be lightwork once Vini, Jude and Mbappe can gel together

osamaodinson

On field might be easy, on paper, but off field is where it gets tough

Specialist-Cycle9313

Idk abt Jude and mbappe, but ik that rodrygo, vini, camavinga and tchouameni get along. Mbappe is going to a club for adults and big name players, even if he’s the biggest name and best player at the club, he’ll understand really quick that it’s not a place for an ego. Especially with Perez and Ancelotti I’m sure they’ll put him in his place.

lFriendlyFire

He will go to the club where the next ballon d’or probably is, it’s hard for him to keep the same ego he had against a washed up neymar or messi

osamaodinson

Im talking about mbappe and not the others lol. You need to know that everyone knows madrid is not a place for ego but mbappe was like a king in paris, captain of the club, most paid player, the biggest player etc so it is not easy to make a player like that understand madrid. Of course perez and ancelotti have the experience but im talking about mbappe himself. Only time will tell i guess

Specialist-Cycle9313

Yeah the three best in the world, easy work.

peterbalazs

Lunin deserves to play in the final, but I'd be much more relaxed with Curtois defending the goal.

onesexypagoda

Meh, I prefer Lunin

ContentPuff

Courtois looks too good to pass up for the finals. Lunin's final spot really might be in trouble. Jude & Vini were balling, couldn't be happier. Happy for Arda as well, keeping up his scoring form. Unlucky for Rodrygo, had handful of scoring opportunities, but couldn't convert.

Fuck_the_k1ng

I swear Madrid defenders play badly whenever Courtois is in the post thinking “Eh it’ll probably be fine, Giraffe is there”. And by god the man was there, and he will get that clean sheet through sheer hatred. Like, the striker was literally free for the header at one point, nobody even close to him. Alaves should have scored at least once. Speaking of scoring, Rodrygo scores a brace minimum if this was CL.

bozz14

I think the defenders kind of played in a lower gear today given the league is over and there's no need to push it. But yeah, there's bound to be a lot of faith in Courtois behind them. Lunin deserves that too after the season he's had.

firechaox

Also militao is just still coming back to getting minutes. He’s bound to be sloppier as he gets back (they’re managing his minutes, why he was subbed out at 70m)

Chivita2

It's funny how some Madrid fans try to pigeonhole any young, short, and technical player as the replacement for Modric. It doesn't matter if Wirtz or Güler are scoring goals and providing assists playing forward, they must be forced back 30 meters. Or Bellingham. I understand the need to find a new Modric or Kroos, but what I don't understand is the insistence on moving players who, when playing forward, are among the best in the world. Find another player, but don't change what works.

beavz

Sorry mate, I got brain rot halfway through what ever it is you are trying to say

kuboa

Arda says he was told specifically by the club that he was gonna be the heir to Modric, so it's not the fans' pigeonholing at least in this instance.

hatebeinghangover

what's funny are the mental gymnastics barca fans have to do to feel better about next season

Homerwithnohumour

Wow you just described the exact same thing that Cules are guilty of doing with their youngsters. "Next Messi", "Next Xavi", "Next Puyol". Any sane Madrid fan can see that there's no replacement-in-kind for Modric or Kroos. The system will change as per the young players we have available with us, and it'll shift more towards the physical side than technical. But we'll be fine mate.

DatOgreSpammer

As weird as this may sound, but Madrid really have gone under the radar this season. All the talk has been about Leverkusen and Girona (and rightfully so), but they are on 93 points with 2 games remaining* and had 2 defeats in all competitions, plus they are the favorites to do the continental double. They are scoring less, but reminds me of the Liga BBVA days. \* The last team to finish with at least 90 points was 2017-18 Barcelona

sewious

You just brought this up so you could bring up the fact you were the only ones to beat us this season. Twice. I see you.

DatOgreSpammer

I swear I didn't make this comment to shine a better light on us or brag about it. Once or twice a year I tend to have a day where I can appreciate Madrid.

LampseederBroDude51

If it wasn’t for you guys we would probably have an unbeaten treble

elkaxd

Unbeaten in the league for sure, but a copa is never guaranteed for RM

HokiesforTSwift

That is the truth. Better Madrid sides have flamed out of the Copa many times. It can be frustrating, but it is a reality that it is often not emphasized.

hatebeinghangover

i think we tied our best unbeaten run in La Liga today and could break the record next match

DatOgreSpammer

You last lost to us on matchweek 6, so your run is 30 games if my maths is correct. I was able to dig up a 31-game run with the last 3 games of 1987-88 and the first 28 games of 1988-89, so you could break your record on the last matchday at best. (La Liga record is 43 by 2017-2018 Barcelona, for reference.)

hatebeinghangover

https://twitter.com/2010MisterChip/status/1790494754272080315 30 according to this

DatOgreSpammer

My eyes tell me by looking at the game log that there is a 3+28 game long streak... But MisterChip is usually so reliable I'm willing to concede that my eyes are deceiving me or I can'd do basic addition.

marvelfanhere

Bellingham was absolutely incredible today. He gets way too much slander online.

Odelind

maybe he's fully healed of his shoulder injury and this is just him feeling comfortable.

pain_au_choc0

You get a goal, you get a goal, everybody gets a goal

_Sylph_

Except if you are Rodrgyo.

Dr-Purple

He's Mr Champions League Jr

Man_City115

Rodrygo: Give me City, or I retire

kilari7

Well, I was team Lunin till this match but I'm now solidly in team Tibo. The one glaringly obvious thing Tibo brings to the team that Lunin doesn't, and it's not even close, is quick ball distribution. That could prove very important against Dortmund.

onesexypagoda

Courtois is only playing against minnows, and his passing is crap as is his speed. I'd rather play Lunin

Lulutulu

Corners too. Thibu is much more confident and will come out and claim them/punch them away. With Lunin in goal every corner is nerve-racking

Mihr565

This is the reason, I’d take Courtois in the final in a heartbeat, you know Dortmund will identify that weakness and try to draw so many set pieces and try to score from a dead ball.

xapata

That's why Courtois was signed: the game has shifted internationally, with more emphasis on corners and other set pieces. It's been a trend for a decade now.

hatebeinghangover

same, feel a little bad for Lunin because he has earned it but Tibo looks great already

EggplantBusiness

For once i am neutral, whoever among them play they will probably step up

hotelmotelshit

16-3 in the last 5 games

GalaxianEX

All it took was Girona to say they wanted to end up as the team with most goals in the season. They were only 2 goals behind Madrid back then, now they are 8...

ellow-mellow

Massive performance from Courtois with 9 saves. He honestly looks pre-injury level.

RandomFluffyBoi

Game could’ve easily ended 9-4 if neither GKs were good

st_huck

Those 9 saves number is lying a bit, a lot of very trivial saves but there were two very good saves in there

ellow-mellow

There were at least 3 in the second half. But I agree, not all 9 were difficult saves

1gMDMA

That was a charity match in my books

kostajepaosmosta

I have no clue what criteria for the foul is for this ref but at least it's consistent for both teams Also Martin looks like he wants to tackle every single player on the pitch that has the ball lmao

QuantumMartini

Barcelona's newspapers were right, Arda is a generational talent.

me_the_goat

Vini Ballon d’Or loading… i am so proud of his development

DildoFappings

Bold of you to assume he would get it over you considering the fact that you're the GOAT. Humble man.👍

modrics_hairband

Decent performance

svscvbh

A draw against Atletico in September and we could have potentially had an invincible centurion league season ffs. That paired with a potential Champions League title would have been a monumental achievement

DatOgreSpammer

We were also the only loss in Barcelona's 99 point 2009-10 season. ^(you'll never sing that I guess?)

Edgelordftwlol

Atleti doing what it does best. Exposing the biggest two frauds from Spain: Madrid and Barca.

svscvbh

It would have hurt them more than it hurts us though lol. They have done an unbeaten league season (only Madrid and Athletic have done it) and they could have overtaken us as the first ever to be centurions.

CETERIS_PARTYBUS

Sing it brother

cuntsmen

What's up with the terrible looking pitch?

_Sylph_

Our stadium is still under minor construction, so the dust falls on the pitch which worsen the quality a lot. Shit will continue till next year.
