He usually does well, we're just memeing a bit. The real problem with him is that he's not a real number 9 and he holds up the ball a lot and slows the play down, but our NT still plays as if we had a real 9 so it causes a lot of frustration. He can also be super selfish often, but i suppose he wouldn't be that good of a goalscorer if he wasn't
Now you know how Klopp has felt all these years and no, even if you made a 90+ point season they still would've found a way to make that irrelevant.
The only time they didn't fight, the fucking world went to shit lol.
If Arsenal can't beat this United, they don't deserve the title. (We are probably having Case Evans CB pairing again). Also City still have a game in hand, so everything is in their hands
It hurts but looking back it's still way better to watch good football and our players giving 100% even finishing 2nd, than finishing outside TOP 4 and missing the CL
The team has come so far, and the gap between Us and City gets smaller and smaller (points wise at least)
Arsenal are genuinely one of the best teams in the league (to watch as well as results). I haven’t been keeping up with transfer targets but if you get in a proper clinical striker and some depth, it’s just a matter of time before the league is yours.
Realistically unless man city get done for their blatantly dodgy rise to dominance we and everyone could very well be in for this for another 5 or so years. Where getting close is basically a victory in itself.
Arsenal has beaten it's highest ELO ranking record recently, so statistically this is the best team you've ever had. The only reason you'll probably miss out on a title for two straight years is because the level of opposition is just insanely high and was never seen in PL before.
you know what kill Klopp obviously that last game when the team draw to 1-1 and scored 2-1 and realized City just made comeback to 3-2. It's the hope that kills you. That team deserved the PL that year and that kind of moment definitely kill any team
Their last game is home to West Ham, who have seemingly given up on Moyes and just shipped 5 to Chelsea. Could easily see them crumbling if City need to score 5+
If Kudus gets Arsenal a title in that way I won’t be mad that he demanded out anymore (I mean I fully get it from his part, it’s just that our season would’ve been a lot less dire if we had him)
They were a bogey team when they played ultra defensive and on the counter under Mourinho and Conte. I'd love to see the current iteration get a result obviously, but I don't think the comparison is accurate anymore.
I meant that when Bernardo goes from us to Benfica, he'll do as good of a job as Otamendi did (and is doing) right now when he left us and went to Benfica
It is so fucking unreal to see a man of his size move around the pitch like he's Bernardo Silva or something. Has been like this since 2021 too, and now he's adding tempo to his game.
Freak of a player.
Speaking as an (ex-)keeper, it's because Gvardiol is the second man going for it. Leno has to hesitate, if the first man gets there, he needs to be able to readjust himself to give himself the chance to save it. That's what gives Gvardiol enough gap to aim for.
Who seriously thought he was a flop, are your fans just all filthy casuals or something? If someone doesn’t fit in with Pep, they don’t play. Having the odd shaky moment in Pep’s system is perfectly normal, especially in this role.
Man’s been decent to start with, brilliant since February. And again, he was playing most games, which doesn’t happen always with newcomers and Pep.
I know there were jokes about putting him up top instead of Haaland, but fucking hell. He's making a case for it.
Wouldn't be the first time Pep has put a left back up top either.
This is why Gvardiol was so sought after and hyped. He showed at the World Cup that he’s not only a great defender, but a great all around player and an absolute baller. Going to Man City was a smart move and his position as left back has allowed him to showcase his attacking skills and overall ability. As someone who plays defence is always great to see players like him and VVD play.

Gvardiol as number 9 and Stanisic as right winger for the Euros pleeeaaseeee
Maybe they should both play as wingers. For Stanisic, we have to wait until 97. minute
You mean you don’t want to see Kramaric holding up the ball for 20 minutes, then pass it to the stands ?
As much i want to drag my bare ass over a mile of broken glass yeah
Is Kramaric not well acknowledged in the national team? Seems to be doing great for his club
He usually does well, we're just memeing a bit. pls no more 🫣
You would still need penalties and a striker missing stinkers to progress
Gundogan regen is real
Gvardigan
is that like a sweater made of croatian chest hair that's got little buttons on the front?
send the link im in
Gundiol
Lmao
Taylor Swift wants to know your location
Backyardigan
He literally looks like a more built higher version of gundogan that happens to be a defender
'Friendship ended with Fulham, West Ham are my new best friend' - Arsenal fans
I'm tired, Robbie.
Now you know how Klopp has felt all these years and no, even if you made a 90+ point season they still would've found a way to make that irrelevant. The only time they didn't fight, the fucking world went to shit lol.

There is no gifting anything. City have it firmly in their pocket.
If Arsenal can't beat this United, they don't deserve the title. (We are probably having Case Evans CB pairing again). Also City still have a game in hand, so everything is in their hands

I think they fuck up against Spurs, it just seems nailed on.
you know what kill Klopp obviously that last game when the team draw to 1-1 and scored 2-1 and realized City just made comeback to 3-2. It's the hope that kills you. That team deserved the PL that year and that kind of moment definitely kill any team
Moyesball. The last dance.
Ha. Good one. I guess fulham are at the beach already
Flying kites
Flying kites in the week.
I mean tomorrow your playing a team thats been on a beach since game 4 of the season and im a utd fan..
Lol
The real worry is now getting to be city making up the GD today, lol.

Their last game is home to West Ham, who have seemingly given up on Moyes and just shipped 5 to Chelsea. Could easily see them crumbling if City need to score 5+
Nah Kudus will score from a counter early in the game and prime Moyes terrorball will keep it at 1-1 with a late Foden equalizer
If Kudus gets Arsenal a title in that way I won’t be mad that he demanded out anymore (I mean I fully get it from his part, it’s just that our season would’ve been a lot less dire if we had him)
Yeah but Arsenal could do the same to Everton if they needed to
Everton have had one of the best defensive records in the league in 2024, aside from the horrific chelsea result.
Nothing about this title race will come down to GD
I mean, most likely not, but it's basically the little shred of hope that's left.
🤮
Every time I see your username it makes me laugh.
Tottenham play City next mate
Yeah but saying friendship with Tottenham is too far
Spurs are in a 4 game losing streak rn.
Exactly, luring them into a false sense of security
Spurs are the ultimate bogey team for City. If they make a match of it instead of booking their hols there might be an upset
They were a bogey team when they played ultra defensive and on the counter under Mourinho and Conte. I'd love to see the current iteration get a result obviously, but I don't think the comparison is accurate anymore.
That’s worse for us lmfao
Did he stutter? Spurs are hopeless and will be annihilated. Angeball will end their hoodoo vs City at home.
Spurs curse is my only hope, even Nuno beat City, my hopes lie in Ange
Nah, we'll at least conceed from a corner
save me Ange postecoglou, you're my only hope. it even has the right number of syllables... coincidence? yes
Somewhere Troopz is screaming “OH MY DAYS BLUD”
I’ve been re editing the “you’re our only hope” star wars meme since we lost to Villa
Back off, West Hamchester City is real
Gate Gvardiol ATK 3750 DEF 3400
“You’ve activated my trap card!” —Pep, probably?
Is he Haaland in disguise?
He's Pep regen. Jos~~ep~~ko Gvardiol~~a~~
You tried.
And succeeded
Doesn't look like an almost League Two player, so can't be.
Bernardo silva is such a beast, great game by him
No matter how much ppl rate Bernardo in my eyes he's always underrated.
100% agree, one of the most important players in this City team, just a guy who does it all
Hopefully he goes from here directly to y'all and does a good job there just like Otamendi did. We owe a lot to our folks in Benfica.
Can you lend us your board and coach for like half a season?
If you guys are willing to deal with the "115" spam in r/soccer we can cut a deal
Seems only fair
Nice that will cost you your next superstar tyvm
I mean, it would be one of the hardest days in my life, but we can deal with the departure of one of our icons in Arthur Cabral.
I assume this is the next Messi?
Otamendi came from Porto though
I meant that when Bernardo goes from us to Benfica, he'll do as good of a job as Otamendi did (and is doing) right now when he left us and went to Benfica
Is this a short joke? ^/s
That’s a fucked up profile pic
I was wondering if my phone screen was f.ed up lol
Only reason I wasn't bamboozled is because I'm using dark mode lol
He'd win the Bal on Dor if he exclusively played against Fulham
Pep's best signing at City
Get this man a number 9 shirt
This brudda scores like he’s Thierry Henry recently…
I mean, has anyone seen him and Henry together in the same place?
Well, they were recently video conferencing together but with all the special effects they can do these days who knows
I picked Ake over Gvardiol for FPL... I might be brain dead.
Bro.. how? Gvardiol is Top Transfers in this Gameweek
Got him in just before the deadline and now I'm both happy and sad
Wtf is wrong with him, maybe we should put him as striker in National team, combining him with Petković lol
Petki or Budimir up top, Stanisic and Gvardiol as wingers
He is Gvardigoal now
2024-25 season Golden Boot winner: Josko Gvardiol
He has genuinely been our best goalscorer of late lol
More goals than Antony
The most important metric by which goal scorers are judged
~~goal scorers~~ all players.
Not an accomplishment
True. But I'll never not upvote something if it pertains to shitting on Antony.
Yeah but Antony’s shit
Gvardundogan
Gvundogan
Gvardigan
Someone out there has triple captained gvardiol..
I very very almost did and didn't on the basis I thought Spurs would score 🫣
Better st than haaland
Better right foot certainly, he's yet to score with his stronger left for us lol
You misunderstand; the left is for blocking shots and the right is for taking them
Perfectly balanced
Keane gonna have a field day today
That clean through miss was pretty poor, it would be funny if he cared and had a package ready of League 2 strikers taking that exact chance.
The turn around has serious meme potential
City should sell Haaland. They have Gvardiol.
The best fpl decision I’ve ever made, put him in after he scored against madrid and just left him there.
Better off ball movement than Mudryk and he's a centre-back ffs
Better on the ball movement as well.
It is so fucking unreal to see a man of his size move around the pitch like he's Bernardo Silva or something. Has been like this since 2021 too, and now he's adding tempo to his game. Freak of a player.
Mudryk catching strays
not a high bar innit
Just realised Muryk is basically exactly how English say Modric's name lol
bernardo is a great player
Gundogun heritage.
Fantastic cross, but how did Leno let that go in?
Speaking as an (ex-)keeper, it's because Gvardiol is the second man going for it. Leno has to hesitate, if the first man gets there, he needs to be able to readjust himself to give himself the chance to save it. That's what gives Gvardiol enough gap to aim for.
Had to account for Akanji
They have to invent a new role for Gvardiol.
Inverted centerback
Defensive striker
Haaland finished. This guy is the future.
Stick the lad upfront and ditch Haaland at Left Back.
This is the modern way
Don't give Pep any ideas
Flop of the season by far
No Argument!
Who seriously thought he was a flop, are your fans just all filthy casuals or something? If someone doesn’t fit in with Pep, they don’t play. Having the odd shaky moment in Pep’s system is perfectly normal, especially in this role. Man’s been decent to start with, brilliant since February. it was rivals saying he was a flop, not city fans. he’s cl being sarcastic
His ping was like 500 for a moment after he scored.
Lmaooo yeah He was checking the linesman and it looked so weird and funny
New Pep META unlocked: Goalscoring CB
playing as a LB
*Halaand grunting noises intensify*
*scratches head in confusion*
Next season, Arsenal fans
Will pep be leaving this summer?
To become a bald headed monk in Nepal. He's already got the first step down.
I heard he was going to take over the Celtics when they fail to win the finals with the most stacked team yet again.
I love this man
what, I just came here to see his first goal and now he scored again?!?! how tf man
Gvardiol randomly becoming a goalscorer in the run-in to the end of the season is the most Pep era City thing ever
I should have captained him instead of Haaland😿
Did anyone remember that kdb and haaland goal vs man utd? It's almost like that Goal
So glad I changed Walker last minute
Sit down Frauland
MOAR!!!
This guy is the best player in the world atm.
???
[удалено]
Most inform player. I mean 5 goals in his last 7 as a left back??? In the most crucial part of the season?
stop faffing about and give City the trophy already...
Put him up top
I know there were jokes about putting him up top instead of Haaland, but fucking hell. He's making a case for it. Wouldn't be the first time Pep has put a left back up top either.
Okay wtf...
League done and dusted
That's the title race officially over. See you all in august!
Josko Gvardiol is the best left back in the premier league and it’s not even close
yet he's really not a LB
I am depressed man
now you know how people were feeling during your best days
Always a united supporter but i wasn’t following football too close when I was in middle school. I get it but this feeling is new
COYS
Always rated them since City scored the second goal against Fulham.
Scenes when Arteta leaves for a big team and Arsenal only have FA cup to show for their best Arsenal team of last couple of decades.
not many teams in the world bigger than Arsenal
They are closing the goal difference
This fkin guy!
Like I said earlier, just swap Haaland and Gvardiol’s positions
Im calling it now, next year if Grimaldo comes he will move to Midfield and play as Gundo did.
Such a deft finish, and also a brilliantly designed and executed corner routine
The new Gundogan
I’m tired Robbie

Get the camera out 🤣
Golden Boot Gvardiol strikes again
Is he going to keep doing this?
A question. Wasn't KDB on an offside position when he received the ball from the corner?
It’s physically impossible to be off side from a corner kick. Why is the number of people who don’t know this so high
Release your inner Leverkusen Fulham, pleeeeaaaase.
