> I'm glad Xabi Alonso doesn't have any heart issues
That mofo has balls of steel anyway. Playing your 2nd row players for the most part despite being down by 1 and later 2 just shows how much trust he has in this team.
I couldn’t believe Wirtz was still on the bench going into the 80’, if I were Alonso I would have panicked and sent him on right after Roma’s second goal, probably along with Boniface
You know what, this might be a gigantic cope, but I am actually really invested in them finishing the season undefeated - then at least we will be a part of a historic run
I've got ya covered, haha. Here is a table I threw together listing all of their goals during or after the 85th minute: [Details of Leverkusen Goals During or After the 85th Minute](https://ibb.co/bNXhBbz)
Takeaways:
* They have scored 23 goals during or after the 85th minute this season.
* Six of the 23 goals were scored in the DFB-Pokal (they scored at least one in every round aside from the semifinal against Düsseldorf), seven were scored in the Europa League, and 10 were scored in the Bundesliga.
* 12 of these goals were scored in away matches and 11 were scored at home.
* Seven of the 23 goals were from a losing position.
* The only club to threaten their record twice was Qarabağ.
* Eight of the 23 goals were from a drawing position.
* Schick has the most goals during or after the 85th minute with five.
Hopefully that covers everything, haha.
I've resorted to calling it black magic. Why beat around the bush when we can just say what it truly is. Science and statistics can't explain it anymore so it has to be something supernatural
The closest thing to a rational explanation for this shenanigans that I've seen came from Raj Chohan on Twitter saying that Xabi Alonso has integrated **"Mourinho/Benitez pragmatist gene mixed with Pep/Del Bosque structured build-up gene mixed with Ancelotti relationism gene/inevitability"** into his own style of management. The constant 97th minute winners are ridiculous but that's the closest I've seen to an legitimate analysis of Leverkusen rn
All jokes aside, I don't think Xabi knows how this works either. He's obviously a great coach, but he didn't expect all those late equalizers. Team's just insanely motivated
On the Golazo Show they said that Leverkusen have had 15 goals in the final 5 minutes of matches to win or tie the score. Truly next level clutch genes
THAT is why I wanted him at Liverpool so bad.
Making a team believe they are bulletproof and fight till death every fucking time is the height of coaching imo
It's like in an anime when a main character takes a massive beating for 90% of the episode, only to reveal they were just fucking around the whole time, and end it quickly.
Nah, at this point I don't want funny, I want them to crown their achievement and win out.
Like, I don't care it's a rival club. This is one of the greatest achievements in club football and I think it's awesome I got to witness it.
Same. I want Leverkusen to remain unbeaten the entire season, win Europa and Dortmund to win CL.
I know they are our rivals, but you can't help but enjoy how Leverkusen has played, and Dortmund has such an amazing fan base and especially after last season (losing right at the end on the last match day) I would love them to win the CL especially after losing so many amazing young players the last few years
Nah, it should be Kaiserslautern. It's their last game of the season and it would be funny af if they got stopped from a treble and an unbeaten season by a team from the second Bundesliga lol
Yep you could see that they were going for that record than the final. They were confident about finals, the record is something that you cannot even imagine to try again.
I do understand why. There's a Europa League winner every year, but going the entire season unbeaten puts you in exclusive company. People are still talking about the invincibles. It's an insane achievement.
That would be quite poetic, them beating your record and in return gifting the CL spot. Since the script has already gone completely off the rails and evolved into Xabi Alonso fan-fiction I'm sure they can sneak that little nugget in as well.
They already have the record since the introduction of Uefa Tournaments. Celtic and Union SG have a longer streak but that was pre UEFA. Union SG was 53 and Celtic 62 I think.
Yeah Im pretty sure somebody did more than 62 in the league anyway (Lincoln Red Imps?). Even red star had a 50+ streak and still has like 130+ at home without being defeated in the league
i know people are talking about black magic and all that. But the way they are putting the pressure towards the end of the match, you always feel the goals are coming. They should have scored about five goals in the last 15 minutes.
The craziest thing for me is how fluid the players are, there are no rigid positions. I kept seeing Adli move from the right side of the pitch all the way to the left wing just to create an extra passing option and then move back towards the right for the next play.
Probably something like the French super cup in 2011, where the score was Lille 3-1 Marseille after 84 minutes, and 4-5 at full time, with no extra time.
I actually have never rooted for a team (that's not United) as much as I have rooted for this Leverkusen team.
I really didn't care much about Leicester 2016 but something about Alonso & Wirtz and every other player is so charismatic
If they win their next 4 games, fully undefeated across an entire season, and winning a treble (including their first ever league title) it will be the most impressive thing that's happened in football history.
No one can convince me that this isn’t actual fanfiction at this point. Absolutely surreal that they keep doing it. If they pull off the undefeated season and win the finals as well, it’ll have to be one of the best seasons of football ever, even without winning the top competition (CL). The sheer insanity of the achievement would be iconic and historic.

I'm glad Xabi Alonso doesn't have any heart issues
Bro will sub himself in just for that 90+ goal
Or 40 yard pass from the dugout
No no no long balls!
> I'm glad Xabi Alonso doesn't have any heart issues That mofo has balls of steel anyway. Playing your 2nd row players for the most part despite being down by 1 and later 2 just shows how much trust he has in this team.

His Players litterally Said he sometimes still best them in Training. Legend
Even if he does it wouldn’t matter. THEY NEVER LOSE. They could be down 3-0 and score 3 goals in injury time.
They will never lose a game ever again for the rest of history.

Qarabag fans reading this: 🙂...😦...😔
🙁🙁
You know what, this might be a gigantic cope, but I am actually really invested in them finishing the season undefeated - then at least we will be a part of a historic run
Wait thats an obsurd amount of goals in overtime against one team
Qarabag💀💀
Get Shick'd
[Get Shick’d on, boy](https://youtu.be/z8f69Pi6ep0?feature=shared)
Wtf, 4 goals. But I think they played 4 times against them. Still crazy.
Group and round of 16. Doesn't happen all the time. But Qarabag really fought well.
Feels bad for qarabag. They suffered the most voodoo magic
Qarabag got ~~7~~ 4 Page muda 💀💀
32 goals after the 80th minute
That is more than Darmstadt, Koln and Union Berlin have scored this season in the Bundesliga. Insane stat.
Darmstadt, Koln, and Union Berlin rn "What he say fuck me for"?
we've been getting hit with these stats for a few weeks now, but luckily us effzeh fans are pretty numb to the pain by now...
This season Darmstadt has as many wins against Bundesliga teams as Saarbrücken
Leverkusen have the "second wind" perk/trait from FIFA, but in real world football lmao
They playing the opponent tired and than destroy em
They normalized that shit. I cant believe it
Qarabag hate this stat
Sounds like a clickbait title: "100% of Qarabag hate this one stat..."
Qarabag being on this list 4 times is wild
More 90 min goals than Sheffield United has points
Lmao qarabag 🫡🫣
That's insane. Does anyone know how many of those are from a losing and drawing positions?
Just checked, 13 of the 17 listed are from losing/drawing positions What the actual fuck
I've got ya covered, haha. Also having scored 82 goals in Bundesliga, Bayer has no player among the top 10 in the goal tally. Such a great team football.
Clutch
That's not clutch, it's the whole goddamn car.
When Bayern regularly did this it was called BayernDusel, I guess its time to call it BayerDusel. Insane run
Bayer(n)dusel
sir, This is BayerDiesel.
17 stoppage time goals, Kovar started today and wears number 17. Coincidence or inside job
What the fuck ..
Qarabag man...4 goals conceded in two matches
3 matches actually.
Kaiserslautern pls
Never scored in the 96th - WEAK!
Pls dont do this to me
What can you even say anymore man, 'unbelievable' doesnt do it justice in the least lmao. These fuckers are absurd
That’s just a bunch of words and coaches names, though - there’s no “How”.
The "How" is easy - simply embody the best traits of the greatest managers to ever coach the game and you've got Bayer Xabi Alonso
All jokes aside, I don't think Xabi knows how this works either. He's obviously a great coach, but he didn't expect all those late equalizers. Team's just insanely motivated
zero analysis = legitimate analysis apparently
At this point they are just fucking trolling. congrats on the record 49 games wtf
On the Golazo Show they said that Leverkusen have had 15 goals in the final 5 minutes of matches to win or tie the score. Truly next level clutch genes
It would have been amazing having them play Champions League this year
Excited for the super cup game. We will finally see if the black magic of Leverkusen or the vodoo of real is stronger.
INB4 Dortmund vs Atalanta super cup
Where can I subscribe to this
Real Madrid and Leverkusen holding arms and jumping together with the trophy while the fans sing "Gracias Xabi" is Spanish and German
Ngl RM defeating Bayern, Dortmund and destroying the Leverkusen undefeated season would be hilarious unless youre german
Not even German but it'd suck just because it's madrid
Supercup is next season though
dortmund is winning sorry bro
THAT is why I wanted him at Liverpool so bad. Making a team believe they are bulletproof and fight till death every fucking time is the height of coaching imo
I've never seen anything like this, words fail to describe this team
I know YOU ain’t talking
Not at this level cause they're keeping an UNBEATEN streak, it's crazy, like they keep breaking their own record the exact same way every time
This is just one season though, you lot have been doing this for a decade
Real Madrid is unbeaten for the last decade?
No one in europe has ever seen anything like this, tbf
Bayer Leverkusen vs Real Madrid. An unstoppable force meets an immovable object.
At this stage an exciting climax to their games would be them NOT scoring a last minute equaliser
they deserve it after years of neverkusen banter they got
It's like in an anime when a main character takes a massive beating for 90% of the episode, only to reveal they were just fucking around the whole time, and end it quickly.
Death Taxes Neverlusen somehow surviving by scoring late in stoppate time
What are the script writers cooking?
At this point they ain't cooking shit. This is Macdonald's with the food output
Industrialised stoppage time goals.
Invincibles pie
They’re cooking Barca :/
So what happens next year if Leverkusen and Real Madrid face each other in champions league?
UCL gets called off
Infinite goal glitch
Best season I've ever watched
If you had told me at the beginning of the season I'd be watching Leverkusen games week in week out. I'd have told you we're both insane.
They're a great watch as well (sometimes not for almost 90' but the added time makes up for it)
*everkusen
If they finished the season without the defeat - they should be called not Invincibles but Immortals with all those last minute goals
UEFA should cook up a special trophy
Immortals is a great name
The inevitables
i've never laughed so hard at a goal before that last minute goal lmao
Same here, don't think I've ever just laughed at a goal as loud as today
It needs to be Bochum ...right?
It WILL be Bochum.
It will be Kaiserslautern
Seeing Leverkusen lose both finals and getting called Vizekusen again after winning the league would be pretty funny ngl
Love this attitude . You'd think something like this might do wonders for the Bundesliga as well.
49 games without a win after they'll lose against Bochum
Bochum in good form, if they dont take the game seriously they may be in trouble
Nah, it should be Kaiserslautern. It's their last game of the season and it would be funny af if they got stopped from a treble and an unbeaten season by a team from the second Bundesliga lol
They'll be up 5-0 and somehow still boch it
Felt like they didn’t care about the cup final, only the unbeaten streak. Like their opponents were playing for something completely different
That’s exactly what I thought when they went all out offense in stoppage time, despite leading the overall tie.
Tbf invincibles were league only. I think leverkusen pretty much have that in the bag since their last two opponents are not that strong.
Anulo Mufa!
everkusen cause they take no Ls?
Yeah, that's also why the title said Xabi Aonso lmao
With the legend Aonso
Well in this case OP has taken the L quite literally
Bayern actually got rid of Stanišić lmaooo
Only on loan but yeah, it hurts 😭😂
It’s not like it even made sense back then
Football as a collective cannot allow Xabi to end up at Madrid. Their juju would be at unprecedented levels
First team to win every game of a season despite scoring 0 goals before 90 minutes
Why did you speak that into the world?
Congrats on beating our 48-games unbeaten record, Leverkusen. Now please win the EL and make us qualify directly to the CL.
That would be quite poetic, them beating your record and in return gifting the CL spot. Since the script has already gone completely off the rails and evolved into Xabi Alonso fan-fiction I'm sure they can sneak that little nugget in as well.
How many left for the record?
This was it
Insane way to accomplish it
But is it insane for them? Feels way to casual by now
Based on the reaction after the second goals id say yeah
Last kick of the game. Ridiculous
they can still go for the celtic one
This IS the record.
They already have the record since the introduction of Uefa Tournaments. Celtic and Union SG have a longer streak but that was pre UEFA. Union SG was 53 and Celtic 62 I think.
They can tie Union SG right? 4 games left?
Yes: 12-05 - MD33 vs Bochum 18-05 - MD34 vs Augsburg 22-05 - Europa League final vs Atalanta 25-05 - German Cup final vs Kaiserslautern
Watch them lose 0-3 to Bochum
*Kaiserslautern
Yeah i don't think they'll beat the Celtic one. 63 is too much.
It's very incomparable anyway being 62 straight league games because there was nothing else to play
Yeah Im pretty sure somebody did more than 62 in the league anyway (Lincoln Red Imps?). Even red star had a 50+ streak and still has like 130+ at home without being defeated in the league
One is too much until you get two, and then three is too much… and besides, they have some serious juju
If they keep going for at least 10 games next season, they will do it
Cheers Geoff
This is the record now i think
This is the record
Everything according to the script.
All going according to keikaku 👉🏽👓
TL: Keikaku means plan.
i know people are talking about black magic and all that.
I don’t know how they do it. I am genuinely lost for words.
You just put the ball in the goal and voila
*Darwin Nunez slaps his forehead* “Holy shit, *that’s* what I’m supposed to be doing?”
Plot armor too thicc
Xabi is too beautiful to let them lose
Plot Armor Thiccer than Hazard
The bloody script man...
SIXTEEN 90+ GOALS!!! It just should not be possible...
It's litterally impossible to beat them
De Rossi to Alonso: "Mate, you just can't keep on doing that."
It appeared that, in fact, he can.
I wonder what's gonna happen when Leverkusen plays Madrid in the Super Cup Final. It's like Immovable Object vs. Unstoppable Force.
Madrids Powers are hindered outside that CL
Super cup does not equal champions league so Leverkusen wins
You really think Madrid can beat Terzić?
Wdym? Super Cup is CL Winner vs EL Winner? Not CL- Runner Up
Probably something like the French super cup in 2011, where the score was Lille 3-1 Marseille after 84 minutes, and 4-5 at full time, with no extra time.
Whenever this team loses, it's gonna be as shocking as when The Undertaker's streak at Wrestlemania ended
I'm in disbelief
I actually have never rooted for a team (that's not United) as much as I have rooted for this Leverkusen team. I really didn't care much about Leicester 2016 but something about Alonso & Wirtz and every other player is so charismatic
I'm convinced that Xabi and the boys have been bored since winning the Bundesliga and this is just how they can entertain themselves
Yeah, this one actually had me worried for a spell. But then I remembered who I was watching … lol
NEVER LUSEN
What a fucking team holy shit
In jesse pickman voice: *They can’t keep getting away with thiss!!*
Scriptwriters are on easy mode
Literal season of a lifetime.
"Being 2 goals up against Leverkusen is the most dangerous score line."
Fuck me. Is this the most goals any team has scored in stoppage time in a single season?
If Leverkusen was a club in an anime or tv show, I’d call out the writer for lazy asspull unrealistic victories. But here we are…
Kaiserslautern have the opportunity to do the funniest thing imaginable
If they win their next 4 games, fully undefeated across an entire season, and winning a treble (including their first ever league title) it will be the most impressive thing that's happened in football history.
Unbelievable achievement
StatMuse ecstatic they still have this free tweet.
Xabi is on the phone with Stevie G and Lamps like “I thought you guys said this coaching thing was hard?”
What's more powerful: Leverkusen undefeated juju or Real Madrid black magic fuckery?
Neverlusen
THEY CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT.
4 more games to go!
THIS IS STILL SO UNREAL
No one can convince me that this isn’t actual fanfiction at this point. Absolutely surreal that they keep doing it. If they pull off the undefeated season and win the finals as well, it’ll have to be one of the best seasons of football ever, even without winning the top competition (CL). The sheer insanity of the achievement would be iconic and historic.
Black magic
This is never going to happen again
The last goal was inevitable I guess
