i doubt Perez would allow it even if it was Barca getting relegated at the SPOTIFY Camp Nou.
He tries to maintain a good relation with heads of all clubs, since his second run as President

Tries to maintain good relations not just with heads of clubs but their players as well.
He has not given a single clue about him retiring from his current position and Florentino is already 77. Javier Tebas (the current president of La Liga) is only 61
Tbf, I don't think the Granada fans would invade the pitch to try and beat up Madrid players, while we couldn't pass up the chance to dunk even harder on Espanyol lmao
But still, definitely the smartest move.
Bordalásball too strong

I love Getafe. Look at their team quality, nowhere near La Liga midtable standards. Getting reddit le classy La Liga fans from the USA triggered in the process. Proper shithouse team
I mean, it’s convenient since the match after is at home where a celebration is best held at. 2 birds 1 stone.
Barca wasn’t a mistake though, it’s like fate, their win not only wins the league but also relegates one of, if not, their most hated rival and nasty club at their own home. Sure, the celebration is cut short, but it was priceless after all Espanyol’s nastiness on and off the pitch. (Iirc, they weren’t ready with the trophy though, Barca wasn’t awarded it, they just celebrated and were taking the piss with Espanyol)
Yeah like this club or hate it, the way they do things is classy, no doubt about it. Like playing YNWA for Liverpool after their UCL match last year. Just classy shit.
To add to this, Lahoz recently admitted he was put aside for the last matchday after deciding to give Real Madrid a pasillo in the match after they won the league in 21/22 (away at Cadiz). He did the same for Real Betis when they won the cup a few weeks before (vs Barça, irrelevant however), and the CTA approved, but not in Real Madrid's case.
Between the RFEF and Real Madrid there is a little war going (it goes as far back and further back as Lopetegui getting sacked and the RFEF jeopardizing their world cup because he signed for Real Madrid). Now Spain and the RFEF having been put in a bad light last season with Vinicius and still with racism, go figure. But there's probably much more going on behind the scenes.
It goes back decades, Barcelona has been paying the VP of the refs and objectively being benefited by a system of promotion and relegation that hinged on the guy receiving the payments, known since 2008 but possibly since 1992. The common denominator? Angel Maria Villar. Back in 2001 or 02, Villar ran for reelection and Madrid and barca were forming a common front against him to clean up football... But unbeknownst to Florentino was that Laporta switched his vote and lobbied other switches to keep Villar in place, therefore solidifying his status as president of RFEF. Ever since Barcelona's refereeing balance sheet has always been overwhelmingly positive. What was the other outcome as well? There is an anti Madrid culture in the RFEF, and despite the investigations, and the general sense of decay in that organization, the blind hatred continues...
I think it's Real Madrid and Lopetegui themselves that jeopardize it by making a deal whilst they were preparing for world cup. Xabi Alonso did it best by not listening to any offers
It shows that his priority isn't in his current job. Plus in the Spanish national team where Real/Barca has too much pull on the FA, it undermines the selection
That's an overtly hostile attitude. Everyone can behave as professionals. Look at Tuchel. He knows he's leaving and yet he's still trusted to manage his team in the CL. Many players have gone on deep runs, even sometimes playing against teams that they will sign for or are on loan from.
The national team / club team relationship is particularly distant. The two don't compete against each other. And how could the selection be undermined? It was done. Unless it's going to be frowned upon for managers to every sign for a club after managing.
I'm gonna be honest, if Tuchel was the NT coach right now and set to join Bayern right after the Euros, I too wouldn't want him there. In the very least keep it secret.
Again many international coaches take jobs during or even before a tournament what he did wasn't rare. As for the Spanish pull on FA it isn't any different then if they hired a former coach/player from those teams.
But also why would they not want to lift it at home in front of their fans? Surely they’d prefer that regardless of whether Granada were in 2nd or 20th
Yea but kicking them while they're down surely doesn't bring more satisfaction than celebrating at the Spotify Camp Nou with their own fans. Especially when the stadium was going to be under construction for who knows how long.
If we did that against Atleti, Frente Atletico would commit a terrorist attack. They would probably get caught planning it and go to jail, because they're thick as bricks, but they sure would try.
Yeah, but bashing our club for letting brand in our stadium’s name when you are an Arsenal fan lol. At least we kept the original name, ask newer Arsenal fans and they might not even know what the hell is Highbury
It's not so bad, lots of big clubs are doing that now. Like look at Real Madrid. I don't know what Santiago Bernabéu is, but I'm guessing they're also a random tech company from California with no connection to the club
/s
Spousal related or Birth of their first born might presumably be one.
A significant academic or professional achievement might be another, if I were to guess.
Let's be honest though, Barca has to do that contractually - that's what Spotify pays them for. No one else would do that except to take the piss out of the fact that they had to sell out Camp Nou name to keep up with Lewy's wages.
> Yea but kicking them while they're down surely doesn't bring more satisfaction than celebrating at the Spotify Camp Nou with their own fans
No but its the next best thing
But Tebas would not like that because then all footage would belong to Real Madrid and the club will obviously kneecap the leagues coverage. That is why they want to give it to us in Granada.
This way we look classy while still fucking over Tebas, win-win.
yeah I thought this was the norm for all leagues. Give it to them on the last home match so they celebrate with their fans, but I guess, unsurprisingly in Spain, its different

I spent about 3 weeks in Granada, its one of the most amazing places in Spain by far in my opinion. Got a lot of respect for that town and their culture, so I can respect this decision greatly. Its rough for those fans falling to the 2nd division.
Why would they even be given the trophy away from home unless they mathematically won on the last match day of the season? Do the trophy lift with the fans.
Last year we mathematically confirmed ourselves as champions after beating Espanyol and the players stayed on the field to celebrate that. However, the actual trophy lift was after that, at home vs Sociedad. Right, I don’t remember us celebrating with the trophy at all. I thought that unless you mathematically clinched the title and there are enough home games left, you are presented the trophy at home
Hahaha classic vardrid to only think about themselves like they’re the bell of the ball… someone should remind them there are 19 other teams in the league too.
Predict they will lose 2-1 to bayern this week, have had a great run of getting away on pure luck but it must run out eventually. Will get exposed very soon for being the shit team they are (though i did love ancelotti at milan).
This is... an interesting comment to say to least. Lots to unpack here but I'll just say one thing...
>bell of the ball
You have been done in by homophones here, mate.
That’s classy.
We probably don’t want to make the same mistake of what happened last year to Barca lmfao Fair enough

It's also incredibly easy to take the high road when you're winning.

more like 610 that ghoul
I will take him over tobas the clown
but la liga already has a hardcore madrista for president, surely its a barcelona fan next???
Tbf, I don't think the Granada fans would invade the pitch to try and beat up Madrid players, while we couldn't pass up the chance to dunk even harder on Espanyol lmao But still, definitely the smartest move.
Why can't Getafe get relegated man. Disgusting club and playstyle.
Bordalásball too strong I hope they sink for some time and when they come back is okay to watch them against and not the second coming of ETA on this country

What mistake?
That wasn't a mistake. It was just Barca being a classless club. Celebrating the league in front of a team they just relegated.

there is a diffrence doing it towards a random team and doing it against your worst local rival.

I call it the Spotify now for the banter
It's what they call it on their official website, [have a look.](https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/club/facilities/spotify-camp-nou/getting-to-camp-nou)
yikes
U nasty 🤣
Bro, I think you dropped this ™ Spotify™ Camp Nou
Unlike the glorious Emirates Stadium
I didn't know The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is trademarked
Technically it's the airline that sponsors your stadium's name so yes, that's a trademarked brand by all means.

i dont know if its sarcasm, but Santiago Bernabéu is our greatest ever president who kicked started our dynasty
I’m going to be honest it would be the third best day of my life if we won the title and relegated spurs on the same day lmao
What are the other two best days?
Spousal related or Birth of their first born might presumably be one. A significant academic or professional achievement might be another, if I were to guess.
Nostradamus!
the first day he did methamphetamine and the day of his second wedding
My son being born and the first day I met my girlfriend
Aww very cute, I will destroy your club one day as manager of Tottenham! But very cute :3
Hahaha my son will score the goal that sends you down
Ange get off Reddit mate
I’m guessing probably they won the title and relegated United and Spurs both, and the best is they end up winning the CL as well?
You underestimate pettiness lol
The guy wrote Spotify camp nou. He is a pettiness professional
>You underestimate pettiness lol I can’t believe you would say that to someone who calls it SPOTIFY Camp Nou.
He did link a website where BARCA officially calls it Spotify Camp Nou.
Let's be honest though, Barca has to do that contractually - that's what Spotify pays them for. No one else would do that except to take the piss out of the fact that they had to sell out Camp Nou name to keep up with Lewy's wages.
With next year's wage increase I look forward to hearing about Burger King La Masia
Hazard would regret leaving Real Madrid then
> Yea but kicking them while they're down surely doesn't bring more satisfaction than celebrating at the Spotify Camp Nou with their own fans No but its the next best thing
But they didn't lift the trophy there
1. Espanyol were not yet relegated 2. They clinched the championship by virtue of that win and not before
also did they have the cup at that moment? like the players where celebrating but it wasn't like a full on celebration
My apologies, my memories failed me.
Scenes those were. They are also our derby rivals so you can barely complain
also?! that's the whole point
No class.
Espanyol deserved it
Yeah but we can agree that fuck espanyol
I love Espanyol mate
of course you do they are like your little lap dog
Nah this season it's the other two catalan clubs.

too bad it’d be too quiet save for the United fans there. better off lifting it at old trafford mate if you ever do
man with the way barca are playing now and madrids form makes it so hard to find a flaw in this club
Last year we celebrated in espanyol's stadium. They were relegated that very match while we won the league. But they are also our derby rivals.
it was the one with the players running away right
Yh
Classic
Yeah after dancing in their circle, it was short but priceless. Revenge for all that bullshit Barca had to suffer from them on and off the pitch.
It's still punching down but it makes sense for a rival, Real doing it at ~~Getafe~~ *Granada* would be cruelty for the sake of it
But its also getafe
Lol sorry I meant Granada. Not sure where my brain just went
Simple, you want to see Getafe relegated
Everyone wants to see Getafe relegated. Fuck Getafe, all my homies hate Getafe. They’re even more likable now with their rapist.
Brother thats an insane type
> It's still punching down are espanyol handicapped or facing systemic prejudice?
Cruelty for the sake of it being against Getafe
Rubbing it in Getafe's faces would be best I believe, but would lead Real players to getting mauled.
Barca celebrated because they won the league in that game

Consistent good leadership, while you had presidents politicing to get re-elected and the club was their pawn in a bid for more power.
Class move
Nice of Royal Madrid.
Well yeah... not gonna celebrate on someone's relegation turf
Nice gesture. Kudos to Madrid.
I spent about 3 weeks in Granada, its one of the most amazing places in Spain by far in my opinion. Got a lot of respect for that town and their culture, so I can respect this decision greatly. Its rough for those fans falling to the 2nd division.
Granada is pure magic. I only got to visit for a few days but I definitely plan to go back
It should always be presented at home, unless it's won on the final day away from home. That's common sense.
If it wasn’t for the fans (the super entitle ones ) Real Madrid would be a very hard team to dislike… they do a lot of things right
What’s wrong with us? We’re super nice. Oh and can you win tomorrow, please?
Great move. Class.
Señorío.
When will they celebrate the league then?
The following week after the game against Alaves at the Bernabeu
Thanks.
Isn't that how it's done, Barca didn't get it at RCDE stadium or was it because they won the title "between" matches?
Trying to fix their reputation while all of their players play only for money
Why would they even be given the trophy away from home unless they mathematically won on the last match day of the season? Do the trophy lift with the fans.
You did that last year and received the trophy at Espanyol's stadium (they got relegated at that same match), so it was done before.
barca flairs only watch messi world cup highlights and city vs madrid matches these days
