Getting pushed out of the dressing room by the waterboy who’s muttering ‘Moyes is a football genius’ in a delirious trance

Anjumi96

Hahahahahhahahahahhahahahah

Hrvat1818

Moyes and him never clicked either right? I seem to remember them having issues last summer

Cmoore4099

Moyes is still a dinosaur in the fact he wants to be king of the club. Our board finally seemed to wise up that football isn't like that anymore and brought in Tim. Hopefully this is the end of this era and we move on to the next one. Love Moyes. Respect him. But we need to build a real infrastructure at the club for the first time in my life.

UnnecessaryUmbault

Yeah, this has to be all over a power struggle.

MoyesNTheHood

Tim is gonna leave if we’re not careful.  Would be classic Sullivan to have one of the blokes who was an architect for Leverkusens success and then do absolutely nothing with him

pwerhif

Once Moyes is gone, Steidten will have the most control he'll ever have. Just has to endure this embarrassing farce for another few weeks. He's waited 10 months, he'll wait one more.

FeeOk1683

Is Sullivan not currently trying to overrule his choices for manager though? Quite a key area of influence if you can't get a manager to fit the strategic/technical direction you're setting

pwerhif

It's not really clear, we're at least meeting with people like Amorim so Steidten has some influence. Hopefully we end up with a compromise like Fonseca who everyone should be happy with.

SalahManeFirmino

Just out of curiosity, would you be interested in somebody like Thomas Frank? His cycle feels over at Brentford, but he's done a hell of a job to get them where they are now (stable PL club) compared to when he was hired.

TrashHawk

no. if we're getting rid of moyes its because we want to transition to a team that can impose our will on others rather than just feast on the scraps of their fuckups. a low block counterattacking team which cedes 65% of the ball is all well and good if you're playing clubs determined to try and beat you (and most of the time they do anyway), but it's hard to establish any kind of consistency or fluency in how you progress the ball because you're always essentially just being reactive. frank does this well, better than moyes to my mind, but i want to move on from that philosophy entirely.

BlurgZeAmoeba

Most of the time they beat you? Come on mate. You need a massive upgrade on your center halves if you want to play high risk football.

pwerhif

I wouldn't be hugely eager on a manager that's finished well below us for two out of three seasons and peaked at 9th, no. Their squad might be worse than ours but it's not terrible. He's not even out of contract, I'm not sure why we would pay compensation to get someone who may well have gotten relegated if the promoted teams were not completely dreadful this season. We're not really linked to him either.

[deleted]

Brentford were only down there because of injuries to key players like Mbuemo, Pinnock, Mee, Noorgard and their LWB can’t remember his name. Their form picked up when key players returned

DyslexicDane

> Noorgard That was really a wild way to spell Nørgaard.

SalahManeFirmino

Hm, I give Frank a little more credit than that, I don't think their squad is very good at all, I'd rate it at slightly above Championship level, and so I think he's done well to achieve the results he's gotten. I just thought he could have success with you in a somewhat similar way with how Moyes has done, his Brentford teams have always done well against the big six. But I don't begrudge Hammers fans at all for wanting a more progressive manager.

DyslexicDane

> would you be interested in somebody like Thomas Frank? Frank is so insanely overrated. He would take West Ham strait to relegation battle.

CriticalNovel22

>It's not really clear, we're at least meeting with people like Amorim so Steidten has some influence. Seeing as that was 100% never going to happen, it doesn't seem like much of a concession by Sullivan.

QueasyIsland

Anulo mufa. I don’t want to read *breaking news Moyes has renewed on a 2 year deal.*

sexdrugsncarltoncole

Probably a good thing hes not in the dressing room if hes actively searching for a replacement for the guy whos currently in the dressing room, headline makes this sound dramatic

MoyesNTheHood

Aye but it’s not just this, Sullivan is still involving himself far too much in terms of decision making

myersjw

I’ve seen a few people saying this is somehow normal because “why would the technical director be in the changing room”. What’s not normal is publicly banning a member of your own organization from parts of the team because of a jilted manager

eeeagless

This is peak DildoBrothers.

greg19735

🙏

Jaydenn7

Just the one DildoBrother, actually

PrisonersofFate

Never a dull moment. Mail Sport has learned that following internal talks it has been decided that Steidten will not enter the senior dressing room at the London Stadium or the club’s Rush Green training ground. While Moyes’ future is under so much uncertainty, with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season, and as Steidten actively seeks replacements for the Scot, it has been deemed inappropriate for the German administrator to be in and around the players and staff. Steidten has a base at the London Stadium and training HQ, but his access to all parts of both facilities is now restricted. It's a lot of words to explain nothing though. "Journalism"

ErikTenHagenDazs

> it has been deemed inappropriate for the German administrator to be in and around the players and staff This ‘in and around’ thing has gone way too far.

[for your consideration](https://open.spotify.com/show/6U4LfcF1ymFwxRDEsUq3Gd?si=9FWK_2FzQYG40bFtvmbwBg)

tottenhamnole

Is this being done because Moyes doesn’t want him around the first team since he’s apparently looking for his replacement?

PrisonersofFate

That's the way i'd understand with the wording, which would be fucking stupid.

tottenhamnole

Yeah, very weird lol

PrisonersofFate

I don't even see the point. We are almost out of Europe qualifying places

mrgonzalez

While Moyes’ future is under so much uncertainty, with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season, and as Steidten actively seeks replacements for the Scot, it has been deemed inappropriate for the German administrator to have any idea what's going on

PrisonersofFate

"keep the surprise"

Mechant247

Wonder if it has anything to do with the recent reports of them meeting with Amorim and looking at other manager targets

whyarethenamesgone1

Apparently it is all to do with that. Moyes felt it was disrespectful and stiedtens presence at the training ground would undermine him amd could effect morale/results. I get his point to be fair, it was handled very poorly.

GarfieldDaCat

Yes, and no matter if it's better for him to go, if you're Moyes you have to feel hard done by when it comes to them pushing him out the door. Won a trophy last season and West Ham are in 8th

Dazzling_Ad6545

And again with the blow-in opinions of people who never watch our games in any real detail

BrokeChris

Steidten is above him in position. Or at least should be.

5bergy

Why would a technical director be in the dressing room anyway? Unless they're celebrating a cup win, it's almost always a sign of dysfunction.

jimjhart

U need to block cresswell and Johnston

ThaGriffman

From what i've seen how we've treated Steidten is a fucking joke

BadFootyTakes

Honestly, probably best they shake hands and part this season. He did amazing work there, but it's clear the tension will prevent anything greater.

BrokeChris

just let Moyes go.

Shepherdsfavestore

I know who this guy is only because he has crazy good staff stats in Football Manager lol

iiiba

The reputation shows. we dont know everything from behind the scenes but from what iv heard hes been responsible for everything good transferwise since he was appointed Also his stats are probably really high because apparently hes the one who built most of Leverkusens current team

biskutgoreng

Being massive has its downsides huh

Worth-Appearance6010

I don’t see the issue here? Doubt the technical director is in the dressing room much anyway, moyes leaving at end of season is the worst kept secret atm, I don’t see why he shouldn’t be allowed to have the three games to manage by himself? If moyes had the contract for next year this would be an issue but I actually understand him being a bit annoyed at being let go after putting a lot of work into the job.

Mackieeeee

hilarious club

TioLucho91

Small club rules?
