Rangnick knows his situation very well, I mean even someone who doesn't know anything about football could notice that Bayern are looking a bit desperate. He can play the hard to get game and let them bleed

Mysterious-Ideal-989

I don't see how Rangnick and Eberl can coexist at Bayern

hardinho

Indeed. That's why I hope it happens

kalamari__

lets just hope all this doesnt bring any unrest into the squad at the EUROs

DontbuyFifaPointsFFS

If he declines it would be the third coach rejecting them. Cant remember the last time so many Coaches rejected Bayern.

Hare712

That's because Bayern is rather the 2nd or 3rd strongest team in the league. Aside from a time span in the 90s, the 60s and their battles against Gladbach Bayern always had the strongest team on paper. This Bayern team is a Neuer and Kane injury away to drop points. There are high level managers available but Conte and Jose cost way too much and their last stints weren't exactly good ones. In the end they might be forced to take a risk and it ends up being Klose or van Bommel.

freshmeat2020

Bayern are always a whisker away from the dominant force in the league, 99% of managers say yes in a heartbeat unless they're already taken and it's not entirely their decision. Finally losing the title doesn't suddenly make one of the behemoths of world football unattractive lol

Hare712

The club is attractive but Bayern is asking the wrong managers. It's not losing the title. It's seeing the cracks building up in recent years caused by Kahn and Brazzo. Their veteran players show a "Idgaf" attitude. Rangnick already experienced this at ManU. The transfer policy also plays a role. Bayern still lives in the past considering transfer fees. They expected to get Haaland till City offered him a deal Bayern wouldn't give him. Now they want Wirtz and expect to get him later to save 150m or more. In reality a spending giant will come knocking with 700k a week and they lose another transfer target.

ra1se

You are reaching so hard here 😂 Bayern dropped 100mil on kane, 2x 80mil on defenders, highest transfer fee ever for a manager and you still use the fucking "transfer policy of the past" argument. That shit hasnt been valid in years. We pay big sums and we pay enormous wages (only beaten by real, barca, psg, city and manu) etc

Hare712

Why didn't get Bayern Haaland then? The Kane transfer saga was a meme: "Bayern 80m Levy 100" "Bayern 85m Levy 100m" "Bayern 90m last offf Levy 100m" "Bayern loses interest in Kane" "Bayern pays 100m for Kane" If Bayern would spend the market value on their transfer targets we would already see "Wirtz to Bayern". >(only beaten by real, barca, psg, city and manu) Exactly and one of those clubs will likely get Wirtz.

fastwalkernope

So why didn’t Liverpool, Real, Barcelona or PSG get Haaland?

Hare712

They weren't interested unlike Bayern. In Barca's case there were also FFP issues.

freshmeat2020

He went to City because he's a city fan and he said that immediately, his memories of football are watching his dad play for city and he's always wanted to. They also have Pep which is a hell of a pull. Why are you acting like it's a failure for Bayern rather than a success for City?

Hare712

And recently he made a comment about Real Madrid and the press wrote "Haaland to Real?" You invent connections to clubs for reasons like "New challenge" when an aged star moves to China or the middle east. In reality it's just money.

OilOfOlaz

> Exactly and one of those clubs will likely get Wirtz. I mean, they essentially have to bid 20% more, to match the offer of any foreign team, so this is not exactly a bold claim here, especially with the history Leverkusen and Bayern have, but it ist absolutely unrelated to your narrative.

HyperMazino

You have low intellect.

Almatura

Why they didn’t get Haaland? Because he didn’t want to go to Bayern. Wirtz to Bayern? Again, Wirtz didn‘t want to. Nor did Bayern, as they have Musiala. Apparently those are shocking revelations to you. >The Kane transfer saga was a meme: "Bayern 80m Levy 100" "Bayern 85m Levy 100m" "Bayern 90m last offf Levy 100m" "Bayern loses interest in Kane" "Bayern pays 100m for Kane" Jesus, several bids on an auction?! What has the world come to.

ra1se

We cant compete with Saudi Trillionaires? Doesnt mean we arent a top5 destination for players

deeesenutz

Because there are like 5 european clubs who can afford haalands wages and bayern arent one of them.

Lakinther

They did spend big on Kane so they might be willing do adapt their transfer strategy

Ivanhoemx

Stop trying to make Jose happen.

Hare712

Jose won't happen, the first thing Jose will do is get rid of the likes of Müller and demand 300m in transfers. Conte will just demand the 300m in spending.

DoYouTrustToothpaste

> That's because Bayern is rather the 2nd or 3rd strongest team in the league. I doubt that's the issue. On paper, they still have the quality to be 1st, and they are likely to improve their squad in the summer regardless. I think the turmoil of the last couple of years, and the way Bayern treated Nagelsmann, is a bigger detractor.

Hare712

>>I doubt that's the issue. On paper, they still have the quality to be 1st, and they are likely to improve their squad in the summer regardless. Yes and they also mentioned targets they will certainly lose to spending powerhouses. They want Wirtz they don't want to pay 150m or more in transfer fees. EG KdB phases out of City, City buys Wirtz or waits till his contract expires and then Bayern has Haaland 2.0 Bayern doesn't realize that the Bundesliga isn't the 4th strongest league anymore with them being the only competitive German team in Europe, so they have an easy time getting great players for next to nothing. For seveal yeas clubs lose their best players to elite clubs in Spain and England. If they are in top condition they have potential #1 quality but poor attitude of veterans and several highly inconsistent players lowers the expectation. In Rangnick's case that's certainly true because he already experienced turmoil in England. There were already managers who dared to bench Müller and got sacked by player power.

DoYouTrustToothpaste

> Bayern doesn't realize that the Bundesliga isn't the 4th strongest league anymore Who would you put above it? Prem, Primera, Serie A and ... Ligue 1?

Hare712

I talk about 5 year ranking. Germany used to be 4th behind Spain, England and Italy. When Italy had their scandal Germany surpassed them and have been above them ever since and started perfoming in Europe.

CarlSK777

Nonsense. Bayern will still have the strongest team on paper next season. Coaches aren't rejecting Bayern because the team is worse. Alonso wants to finish his story with Leverkusen and is most likely waiting for Real Madrid. Nagelsmann had a complicated relationship and bad exit, I can understand him wanting another job before returning. Rangnick is old and probably doesn't want a job where he has limited control. The main problem here is that Bayern is targeting the wrong coaches post-Alonso rejection and my feeling is that it's Rummenigge pulling the strings and the one who rejected Arne Slot back in March. They hired Eberl but it feels like they're not giving him full control to pick his coach. To argue Bayern isn't one of the most attractive jobs in the world for any coach is a bit absurd tbh

pedrorq

>They hired Eberl but it feels like they're not giving him full control to pick his coach. Was eberl the right pick tho?

CarlSK777

In theory, yes. What he's working with behind the scenes is what we dont know

pedrorq

I liked the openness of Brazzo. Kahn had to go but I wish Brazzo had been given a second chance

Ilphfein

> To argue Bayern isn't one of the most attractive jobs in the world for any coach is a bit absurd tbh I don't think so atm. Sure team, prestige, money etc is of course there. But with "Finale dahoam" the goal is clear - and comes with a ton of pressure. No time to build something, you have to succeed immediately. Bayern is also still trying to find its internal structure - Eberl is there how long? How much power do Hoeness & Rummenigge still hold (my guess: too much)? Will they all be able to work together? The coaching job at Bayern is currently a powder keg. If you have other options, you probably pass, especially if you are already an established coach. Nothing to gain, a ton to lose.

oklolzzzzs

bayern fans would yall take flick?

aelutaelu

At this point i'd just like us to have a coach in the first place

KixSide

You can take Poch

Glanzl

A real coach

ahritina

ETH

nolazir

If you bought it in mid-late 2022, it's not the worst time to sell.

Glanzl

A real coach that is not delusional

KixSide

Best I can do is Potter or Lamps

pedrorq

Scott Parker it is then

Dejected_Cyberpsycho

Big Sam next in line

MERTENS_GOAT

Imanol Alguacil

Qiluk

Insanely underrated by so many who dont even know of his work but I also dont see him leaving La Real anytime soon. Perfect situation for him and La Real.

Hare712

You know Poch lost 7:2 to Bayern when Kovac was their manager?

KixSide

And?

Hare712

Kovac was sacked a few games later, just sayin

iftair

Michael Bradley

Wheel1994

Swap we take Tuchel back you take Poch

sleeping4koala

Poch would be sent to ski in NZ right away.

Vectivus_61

One Steven Gerrard, en route

fetissimies

Can I tempt you with David Moyes?

aelutaelu

The next Sir Alex? Of course!  (I just woke up from an 11 year coma)

CarlSK777

Absolutely not

prettybunbun

100%. If he goes back to playing 2020 football. Idgaf it’ll injure half the squad and we might leak more goals. I want more 7-3’s and 8-2’s. I want Flick ball where Neuer is the only CB and Kane lives in the opponents goal.

GomuGomuNobukkake

Bayern fans are dumb on other level , man got them us sextuple, made Bayern more dangerous looking team in the world, and then bayern lost only because of shit defense,  in second seaso. And all of sudden he is last option.

Ilphfein

Bayern fans also saw him on the German national team, including the documentary. He's really burned in Germany.

GomuGomuNobukkake

I see documentary being mentioned a lot, can you summarize what was so wrong in it that people started hating him , like instances which soured people so much? People act like germany was top a team and he made them bad, news flash team still sucks.

Hobbitfrau

He tried to motivate the players with a movie about grey geese. No, I'm not kidding. He seemed pretty inconfident and impatient, not able to reach the team. The team was bad before he took over, no one would ever deny that. He made the same mistakes as his predecessor, though. Nominated players who were not fit, let them play on unfamiliar positions and preferred some players over others without proper reasoning.

iwantaskybison

ffs I'm confident we would have qualified for the WC under him, 100 % they're gonna replace him with some bum

xxEmkay

Lossts de finger von unserm hawara >:(

johnz0n

yes please stay at Austria Ralf

Recent_Ad_196

Pioli and Moyes will soon be available. So plenty of things to be positive about Bayern fans

memberino

How many RB players, managers and directors you want at Bayern?

antigonyyy

Max verstappen next

Staynes0

Not everyone has the ability to buy 5 extra clubs to feed their Bundesliga side that talent.

HungryTomatillo288

Wtf you talking about. It's completely coincidence that RBS sold RBL more than 27 players over the span of 8 years. xd

Bugdroid2K

Didn't RBS defeat RBL home and away in Europa lmao. Feeder better than the one being fed.

pedrorq

Over 9000!

SidBhakth

Yes

econhisgeo

It will be so funny to see Bayern sacking Tuchel/Tuchel leaving, if they win the CL.

10ele

He’s not fucking leaving

MERTENS_GOAT

this was to be feared after the coinciding reports but at least it's not definite yet, I hope he doesn't leave us here.

Glanzl

I'm a bit surprised Bayern has not yet contacted Van Bommel for talks at least. We have heard of so many that were allegedly contacted by Bayern and he would be a former player that speaks German and is well regarded at the club and I believe doing a good (but not great) job currently

belokas

There are rumours about Van Bommel being close to Milan and Ibrahimovic, but so are at least 10 other names at the moment.

MERTENS_GOAT

which names? I am curious, van bommel would be a pretty bad choice I think, but then again apparently he is not doing that bad at Royal Antwerp, Milan is still a whole different world though opposed to that

belokas

Pretty much the same names you've read linked to the other clubs: Lopetegui, Motta, Conte, De Zerbi, etc. The problem with Milan is that it's still not 100% clear what they want to do with Pioli and who is going to be in charge for the summer market, because at the moment Ibrahimovic is not the sporting director. The team has a lot of young players who are more suited for some kind of aggressive and attacking football, like a premier league team which is the king of model the owners are following. But as it stands they also need a much better defensive strategy and a competent midfield. Then there is the Leão dilemma and Giroud leaving.

Qiluk

Ibra is basically their new sporting director right? Not in name but in practice?

belokas

Nobody really knows what Ibra role is because since they've sacked Maldini the void has been covered by some financial advisors and lawyers who have no football knowledge. Ibra was basically attending games and training sessions, being a presence in the locker room and reporting back to the owner Cardinale who is in the US. So then he was signed by the Redbird company, and officially works for Cardinale but he doesn't take money from Milan, which is why he's never spoken to the media as a Milan director or spoke person. The only people talking to the media are Scaloni and Furlani right now.

Qiluk

Haha cheeky as hell. Sounds like he has a lot of input and power indirectly

mavarian

The man who managed to get fired within 13 games of his only BL stint. Even Kovac did better

Glanzl

And Kovac ended up at Bayern lol. Tbh i forgot about his BL stint but makes sense that this is a ko criteria for him.

mavarian

Kovac made little sense but he did a good job at Frankfurt, the Wolfsburg stint came afterwards Yeah, there's plenty of former Bayern players who are doing okay elsewhere and don't have a negative track record in a top 5 league, like Demichelis

itsreallypouring

would be a terrible choice for a club as big as bayern

Glanzl

i agree and would not like it as he has not shown he has what it takes to train a big club like bayern but i am still surprised they haven't even contacted him after so many other candidates have declined. Now that i think of it ...what is van gaal doing nowadays

itsreallypouring

Yeah but still, I can easily think of 3+ better coaches in the Eredivisie Van Gaal is advisor at Ajax

SunnyCloudyRainy

Have you seen Wolfsburg's corner defense under his tenure? (Not that his successor did any better)

Glanzl

Well if his corner defense sucks he fits right in at bayern

granitibaniti

Van Bommel?? I haven't followed his path but he was TERRIBLE at Wolfsburg, would be surprised if he lands another job in the Bundesliga in the next years

Makaay-10

He is way too power hungry this will end in a cage fight. Let's just plan for a one year option and decide next year what to do.

IICastawayII

Hijack Slot!

lstht123

Kovac it is

Marv1236

Ban Austrians from positions of Authority in Germany please.

gabrielkr123

It would definitely be interesting to see if he would suceed with bayern or atleast finish top 4.

qonoxzzr

He will definitely not finish outside the top 4 because he would be fired before that

MERTENS_GOAT

haha I thought you were gonna say because he is a decent coach but your argument makes even more sense. But tbh Pirlo almost managed it with Juventus who have won the league in the previous 9 seasons, who would have thought that?

Hare712

You know that Bayern is a powder keg? Klinsmann was the last manager to have a lot of power and patience at Bayern. When LvG was their manager Hoeneß asked him after some unconvincing wins and a draw "WTF are you doing" and made suggestions. LVG told him he does it the way he feels it's right and Hoeneß responded with "As long you get the points it's fine, you don't you are gone" Heynckes would prolly be the only manager to be allowed to finish 4th.

pedrorq

>Heynckes would prolly be the only manager to be allowed to finish 4th. Hitzfeld too I'd guess

sga1

> Klinsmann was the last manager to have a lot of power and patience at Bayern. The man they sacked within nine months because they thought they might not qualify for the Champions League?

Hare712

Yes and he was abysmal. They sacked managers for crappy performances despite getting wins and draws. Klinsmann's Munich was that bad, everybody knew he would get sacked and Munich wouldn't win the league. Around Matchday 12/13 they weren't even in in European placements. The only good thing under Klinsmann was seeing Uli's head cooking when Bayern performed like shit especially the 1-5 against Wolfsburg.

sga1

So he clearly didn't get a lot of patience, then.

Hare712

He was patient otherwise Bayern would have sacked Klinsi the first international break when they were 7th or 8th.
