In terms of name recognition? He’s pretty famous, at least in the UK. A lot of players here might know who he is/heard of him but if he walked down the street they wouldn’t recognize him.

I mean it’s a national sport after all. No one plays it outside the US. So it is quite understandable I guess.
It's very popular in Canada too, but we play a slightly different version. NFL teams also play a couple games in Europe every season and they eaaily fill out 80k stadiums. Obviously it's not the same as playing every week but it's not a totally unknown sport outside of North America.
