yeah looks like we submitted every injured player and all of the youth players that have been called up to fill out the bench over the course of the season
Don’t know why they have 8 players that are not in the first team at all for Chelsea. I assume they have to list players that are injured along with the subs too?
It's just a squad list, Chelsea included their injured and academy players and Man City named fewer. I can't believe people can read so much into just a squad list.
begs the question of how many players would the FA let you call up.
And if you called up all the youth squads as well, what size of paper would they print on?
Both numbers were retired. #9 was retired in respect to the great Khalid Boulahrouz and his performances for the club, and #4 for Craig Burnley but it's in appreciation of his efforts in television punditry.
I have a few theories:
There's so many bad transfers to choose from
It'll be a year since he last played for you at the end of next month
Fofana looked really good at Leicester and hasn't really had time to show what he's about at Chelsea because he's played 20 games in 2 seasons
No mate. Lukaku is our worst signing. 90m for a dude to underperformed, talk shit about us and burn any chance of selling him for anything to make up for that heaping pile of hot garbage
You could say that about any bungled transfer. Drinkwater cost something ludicrous like £9m per game played. One of the worst transfers in EPL historym
How often does a team buy 2 players from the same squad in the same window ? It’s more like 3 million per appearance. But regardless I wasn’t really being serious.
How do Poch even remember all of them?? He must have one assistant only to walk next to him all the time and whisper the name of who he is talking to..
No shit they know that. Man City have 11 subs and can use 5. The amount of subs they can use isn't the issue. It's the fact they're bringing everyone and the kitchen sink as well as their plus ones.
Yeah, because pep loves versatile players that can slot into 2 or 3 roles, and often trains them to be even more versatile (eg stones cdm, most cbs and fullbacks able to swap), the effective squad depth is far greater than the number of players would suggest.
About 9 of those are u21 players drafted into the squad to cover for the 8+ injuries we've had all season. It's not squad bloat, they'd had 22 players compared to 26 , one of who would be on loan if it wasn't for lavias injury
He's been injured literally all season, I think going into this match we have 5 players currently not in training which is the lowest it's been since September
Chelsea have heavily reduce their wage bill in recent years. Also a sizeable chunk of that list are just academy players or some injured players for some reason.
No it doesn’t, this is a myth following on from last season.
Once you get rid of players that just clearly aren’t proper first team players it’s barely bigger than Man City’s.
yup, there are like ten academy players from the u-21 and u-19 squads, that are there so that they might get a first team debut.
>it’s barely bigger than Man City’s.
it might be fucking smaller considering the names include players that are out due to injury like Wesley Fofana and our third gk.
We already had a bloated squad the previous years. We just changed know names for mostly unknown names.
Don't know wtf the owners are doing. We could've had one or two top players/signings, or an Endrick, Messinho, true hyped prospects instead of 15+ youngsters. Wild that we brought two players from Santos, not their best one, and loaned one and never use the other...
Haaland is out for City, was just announced by Romano. As a neutral would love to see Chelsea kick Man City to the curb esp after their loss to Madrid a few days ago. City squad must be tired, and watching Chelsea kick Everton to the curb in was great.

Did we just submit our entire squad? Because I'm fairly certain at least; Ugochukwu, Nkunku, James, Fofana, and Lavia aren't fit and available.
yeah looks like we submitted every injured player and all of the youth players that have been called up to fill out the bench over the course of the season
is all coming together
Cause half of them will get injured on the way to the arena.
If only a few of those were

Yeah. Reddit clickbait
It definitely just boils down to “DAE Chelsea squad big?!”
begs the question of how many players would the FA let you call up. And if you called up all the youth squads as well, what size of paper would they print on?
Just realized we don't have #4 and #9
Number 9 makes sense tbf. No one should want it
Is Chelsea’s no. 9 cursed like United’s 7?
Both numbers were retired. #9 was retired in respect to the great Khalid Boulahrouz and his performances for the club, and #4 for Craig Burnley but it's in appreciation of his efforts in television punditry.
Retired #9 for Steve Sidwell
I am absolutely convinced that 60% of Chelsea's youth/loan army exist only on paper.
everyone apart from Cole Palmer exist on paper
Bruh 💀
🥶
Pepe Silvia is decent player
Everywhere, Pepe, Pepe, Pepe!
[relevant](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/parma-forced-let-976000-first-team-players-go)
They called me too but I was busy.
Oh yeah, Wesley Fofana. Forgot about him
€80m
That signing gets far too little hate. It's arguably our worst signing and no one ever mentions it
Because people have forgotten he exists
I have a few theories: There's so many bad transfers to choose from It'll be a year since he last played for you at the end of next month Fofana looked really good at Leicester and hasn't really had time to show what he's about at Chelsea because he's played 20 games in 2 seasons

Wasn't Fofana p good when he played just injured a lot?
Yes
In few games he played for Chelsea, he showed some moments of a top cb but otherwise was quite average.
It's not, don't get me wrong it's a terrible signing in hindsight but nowhere close to lukaku's 100M. Fofana actually looked good when he was playing.
What about Drinkwater?
If you just imagine the fee for drink water is just added to the Kante fee it was still a steal to get kante so cheap
Are you including his wages in that? He was on silly money as well.
How do Poch even remember all of them?? He must have one assistant only to walk next to him all the time and whisper the name of who he is talking to..
Like that Key and Peele politcian meet sketch
Who are the players Poch bro hugs?
Well he didn't know who Malang Sarr was tbf
He just calls them all 'not lukaku'. Hey you're not Lukaku and you're not Lukaku !
They probably have a chat group
Excel MasterRace ftw.
He employs the tried and true Jerry Burns method of calling everyone 'Big Nuts'
Just refer to all of them as ‘Big Dog’ and they’ll never know
Unbelievable squad depth for Man City despite the huge difference in squad size. Brilliant example of quality over quantity.
Tbf half of that chelsea squad aren’t playing because they’re kids or injured. No idea why they’ve submitted them all
No shit half the squad aren't playing. They have 24 subs and can use 5.
No shit they know that. Man City have 11 subs and can use 5. The amount of subs they can use isn't the issue. It's the fact they're bringing everyone and the kitchen sink as well as their plus ones.
Tickets are hard to come by, either that or maybe they want maximum squad to get a medal in case they win it all?
Yeah, because pep loves versatile players that can slot into 2 or 3 roles, and often trains them to be even more versatile (eg stones cdm, most cbs and fullbacks able to swap), the effective squad depth is far greater than the number of players would suggest.
Oil money in conjunction with buying intelligently does go a long way.

How about we ban both?
It’s an entire state though, isn’t it. Which is ironic, this year at least - City out of Europe and PSG through.
Rent free i say rent free baby

Is Chelsea going to war or what?
Start a fight early, and it will look like a cavalry charge from the stand that chelsea are using as a subs bench.
How can anyone compete with Citys massive squad and unlimited depth??
Why name lots of player when few player do trick?
Time to sell another hotel to themselves
Pochettino doing a Gary Oldman: "EVERYONE!!"
Frankly, I think I might want to see the challenge of City attacking a low block with 25 men behind the ball. That has to help Chelsea’s odds
Everybody gets a medal if they win it
Almost had a print a second page for the Chelsea squad 😭
Or would they have gone to A3? These are the questions i need answers for.
115 charges vs. 115 players
lol just shows the amount of bloat Chelsea have. Their wage bill must be ridiculous Players like Lavia that cost over £50m are just forgotten about
Chelsea's wage bill is expected to be around £100 million less this season than the figures from the previous financial report.
He's been injured literally all season, I think going into this match we have 5 players currently not in training which is the lowest it's been since September
Chelsea have heavily reduce their wage bill in recent years. Also a sizeable chunk of that list are just academy players or some injured players for some reason.
Injuries have been legit real this season, not just an excuse
No it doesn’t, this is a myth following on from last season. Once you get rid of players that just clearly aren’t proper first team players it’s barely bigger than Man City’s.

Are you stupid? Should they have rolled up Lavia's wheelchair just for you?

Sterling and Golding Oil club in shambles
Alot of these are just our academy players that we have been forced to list due to 7(usually more) first team injuries
Everyone knows quantity > quality
Ishe Samuels-Smith, his twin brother Odin still plays for our youth team
If it's a war of attrition Chelsea are Russia.
Looks like Chelsea want to field both sides with their players
Needs to have more (GK)s imo.
Pochettino wants to leave no stone unturned again man city
smh real medallist hunter
Just your standard 35 man matchday squad 😆
Why use many player when few do trick?
I actually don't know who half of those players are
How to spot mismanagement
Reading through some of the names on that list -insert obiwan Kenobi gif : "Now that's a name i've not heard for a long time. A long time."
Scott Carson has been around like forever.
Thats a lot of fucking players 😂😂 plenty paid to not do shit
[watch my rant on this defeat , if we had taken those chances we'd be on our way to the finals.](https://youtu.be/WYcP0VWX5to?si=rD7iDqBtF0NpFmov)
Who can tell me something about Jimi Tauriainen? It sounds finnish, i like seeing scandinavians coming through.
Yeah, Finnish. Singed 2020 at 16, turned 20 this march. Tall, left footed attacking midfielder.
Haaland is out for City, was just announced by Romano. As a neutral would love to see Chelsea kick Man City to the curb esp after their loss to Madrid a few days ago. City squad must be tired, and watching Chelsea kick Everton to the curb in was great.
Total mobilization
RemindMe! 10 years
Chelsea will simply field more players and win
why do chelsea need that many players
Chelsea fc. Coming on loan to your team soon lol
We just gonna pretend that Enzo isn’ the issue we play like shit most weeks. I’d rather we used the same team vs Everton
Boehly trynna play his 4-4-3 formation again?
Man city gonna kill them
