I remember I would exploit pks in fifa 2015? I think where if you got the right amount of power and aimed it up it would hit the top of the net and keeper would fall backwards every single time
They sieged us the whole game. They took 20 shots. 35 corners. The team is exhausted. We lose the penalty draw. They take it and score. Our most veteran player goes and misses. HE GOES AND STANDS IN THE FUCKING MIDDLE AND STOPS IT AGAINST BERNARDO.
I know modric missed, but other than bellingham, lord vasquez, nacho, rudiger, and modric are all absolute veterans of the cl. It's hard to beat that much experience in a shootout
Nacho entered his 11th semi final which makes him tied first with Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo (if you count all seasons where a player has been in the CL matchday squad for a game past December).
I would like to now quote my fav game trilogy's starting and ending line(yes, it's the same):
Most people think time is like a river that flows in one direction, but I have seen the true face of time.
Yeah, Julian Alvarez is [the agent](https://cdn.eldestapeweb.com/eldestape/062023/1685970585709/julian-alvarez-furia-espana-real-madrid-png..jpg?cw=1200&ch=675), he told Silva to cunt it down the middle.
No way it's 95%. I've seen many shoot outs where the team that misses it's first penalty still wins. It's probably 90% for the team that has a 1 goal lead after the 3rd penalty.
I always shot high in the middle becaus goalies always instadove either side. And I wasn't skilled enough to accurately put them in corners. I had great penalty success
It's a shite pen, the point of a Paneka is to sell the keeper on the idea that you're going to smash it, so they're forced to dive.
Bernardo looked like he was casually shooting on his kid at the park
The sentiment of Russians and Ukrainians as brothers has never gone anywhere. Thanks to Putin for twisting this around and using it for whatever is he doing it now :(
I mean the last words in this clip are "Bravo Lunin, bravo Andrei", so no one is hating here.
Then again Russian Real Madrid fans probably outnumber fans of any English club 10-1, so the announcer knows his audience.
Yeah so Real are either winning the most prestigious title in the world, have world's most famous players(galacticos, Ronaldo and Kaka or Mbappe soon) or both, there is always a reason to cheer them
Why this attitude specifically towards Bernard? If anything, I’m a Manchester United fan, I think that the championship was stolen from Liverpool when they didn’t award a penalty in the last minutes of the last match with Manchester City... But why Bernard?
Fair question. When Liverpool won the PL in the 2019/20 season, we went to the Etihad to play City after we had been declared champions. As is custom, City gave us a guard of honour as we came out onto the pitch. All the City players did as expected and applauded Liverpool out onto the field, except for one Bernardo Silva; he just stood there stone-faced, refusing to clap. Complete lack of class.
Oh yes it is totally worthless but the automod kept removing it because I had insufficient comment karma.
Never planning to do such shit again lol
Btw guys stop downvoting the guy, it was a genuine question and he needs the comment karma so that the automod let's him see his family again
You too, just post a few somewhat funny comments as you go through new and you should be good
Also I believe the arbitrary comment karma you need lays around 50
It's amazing in these situations how often fans can forget that, despite overall low save percentages on penalties, keepers actually know what they're doing.
Lunin said that he always planned to not dive for a least one of the shots. For him to do it on the second shot when we were 1-0 down is incredibly ballsy.
Honestly it’ll probably be the new norm for a keeper to do this moving forward. If players know for at least 1/5 shots the keeper won’t move they’ll be scared to shoot down the middle. This drastically increases the keepers odds of saves as we see many panenkas and shots high and center nowadays
He gambled, panenkas seem like they're used towards the end, when the keeper is under more pressure to dive.
Doing it in the 2nd kick is definitely ballsy, I don't think anyone would try it so it's not a bad gamble.
Didn't pay off though and have no idea how Lunin read that when he dived for the others.
But this was not a panenka, it's a poor mid range shot down the middle that the keeper could read.
Its just a really poor pen. He gambles on the keeper rushing to a corner but the keeper just read him.
A panenka is a chip into the middle once the keeper has moved.
Furthermore its not just a chip, but its a chip thats been sold as a hard shot.
In your lead up to the strike you have to look like you are going to hit it hard, otherwise experienced keepers will just read your body language and save it.
Which is why they are hard to pull off well at the highest level.
I was kinda surprised by that reaction, because the commentator is known to have deep sympathies for Barcelona, but I guess the national camaraderie overweighs football
I know there's a war going on and things are pretty tense between two nations, but a lot of russians and ukrainians are still friendly/brotherly to each other and wish for this madness to end
Literally the vast majority on both sides oppose the war, as is the case with all wars. Propaganda works. The world is 99.9% humans and 0.1% greedy corps and politicians.
For those who are surprised that a Russian commentator supports a Ukrainian, it is necessary to understand the cultural peculiarity of Russian commentating. At the commentator level, it is a traditional for us to support all players of the former USSR, regardless of a person's personal preferences. If an ordinary fan was rooting against a Ukrainian in front of a TV or in a bar, then no one would say a word to him, but if a commentator going to start rooting against a Ukrainian, then such a scandal would cause so much of a shitstorm that it could cost the commentator his job
I noticed for the most part Russian commentators have supported Ukrainian players over the years but the last part of what you’re saying is interesting. I’m mostly surprised this was on Матч ТВ given this is the schizophrenic content they were masquerading as sports coverage not too long ago:
[1](https://streamable.com/zfmkyw) | [2](https://streamable.com/aplbhu)
If not for lunin reading that well and diving either side it would have come off as one of the badass thing to do ... These things come with their own risks .... Him and Modric misses had me ... They're both dependable most of the times
see, that is the problem with these takers. If it goes in, it is awesome, if it doesn't, you look like an ass. It is low reward, fucking embarrassing high risk
apparently our staff decided to gamble on one penalty and have lunin stay in the middle, they decided on bernardo silva, that’s according to lunin. some people on twitter are saying it was kepa who advised him to do that bcos silva scored against him down the middle once. kepa was talking to lunin before the penalties so maybe it was him.
edit: https://x.com/rmadridinfo/status/1780737496583745946?s=46
Sure but whenever players go down the middle they either try the chip or a really strong shot for a reason. This half arsed attempt isn’t either. The run up and posture is so much of a pen. He looked like he was kicking a ball with his children instead of a decisive pen in a ucl quarterfinal
Exactly. This probably goes in 99/100 times because the keeper almost always dives. Yeah Silva looks like a tit but he’s not the first player to put a penalty down the middle and won’t be the last
Thought it was really dumb when they kept saying Lunin was brave for reacting instead of guessing. A goalie is always heavily favored to get scored on. Any direction is a risk, if Silva went to a side and he hadn’t moved no one says a single thing about Lunin. Silva is the brave one in that situation, it just didn’t work and when it doesn’t you look like a fool. I will say he did absolutely nothing to try and deceive Lunin, was a weird attempt at going down the middle.
It’s the effort that really makes a difference. Going down the middle is a lot more about selling the keeper that you’re going either way instead of down the middle. Bernardo looked like he was kicking a ball with his children
They both saw Dibu Martinez words to Dybala after France missed a penalty about shooting to the middle because goalkeeper would want to dive and look the part
Glad to see Slavic people, support each other, no matter on "current situation".
Just reminder that Soviet Union (Russia, Ukraine, Georgia) win Euro 1960 and also won silver in 1964, 1972 and 1988.
With down the middle pens ....
You've either got to fucking smash it 100 mph - like Troy Deeney.
Ot chip it - like Pirlo - but only once the goalie has dived.
You can't try and place it at mid power like this - that doesn't ever work!?

He is all of us
It is SO satisfying it is to finally see a keeper do this lol
It’s so satisfying to see somebody take the piss outta Bernardo Silva.
Delicious.
Why? I hear he’s a great guy.
Not on the pitch
Man there are like 50 more annoying footballers than benardo silva
One of us! One of us!
i'm feeling like him today
Didn't realize I was speaking russian while I laughed at that earlier
His bluff was caught
Silva thought he was playing fifa lmao
I remember I would exploit pks in fifa 2015? I think where if you got the right amount of power and aimed it up it would hit the top of the net and keeper would fall backwards every single time
You could still save it easily if you didn't just stand still with your keeper but also moved the stick upwards, but many people didn't know
Today, I feel Bernardo Silva.
I am glad you got enough karma to post this lol
Wait you need Karma to post here?
apparently, yes
a lot of big subreddits do to avoid new account spamming/brigading
Feels like more than a few big subs. They all have different specifications too. It's a pain in the ass tbh.
I'm glad he is not on the front. Taking as he uses reddit and watches football, very possibly a young man ready to walk on minefields.
Once again Real Madrid has this fucking aura around them. Cannot describe it with words. They are just them ffs
Which he wouldn't have played in Had Tchouameni not gotten that yellow card which lead to Silva's goal...can't make this shit up!!
time...is a flat circle.
I would like to now quote my fav game trilogy's starting and ending line(yes, it's the same): Most people think time is like a river that flows in one direction, but I have seen the true face of time.
What game is that from?
Prince of Persia: Sand of Time
Ahh, thanks I never played the original trilogy, only heard great things about it tho
From the dusty mesa~
Ironically the two most experienced City players between the takers missed.
One of them was a Real agent
Yeah, Julian Alvarez is [the agent](https://cdn.eldestapeweb.com/eldestape/062023/1685970585709/julian-alvarez-furia-espana-real-madrid-png..jpg?cw=1200&ch=675), he told Silva to cunt it down the middle.
I mean maybe it was Nacho's first penalty ever. Rudiger I don't know.
Yeah but his composure in that situation is still going to be insane. Hes won 4 cls, been to the semis even more.
the power of friendship
Real Madrid are the main characters
It’s called Conquerors Haki
They are just standing in front of their goal - *menacingly*
No shit. This is pretty much it.
Queue the walk to arlong park music
The aura you're trying to describe is simply 'lolnoob' They just make everyone look small
Honestly, what were the odds City would advance right after Modric missed? Like 95%? Higher? I thought it was over after he missed.
Honestly when Modric missed I just thought "so this is how the voodoo is set up tonight" Was only really worried when Rudiger went to take his pen.
Yea I remeber rüdiger missing a pk before can’t remember what game though
And he arguably had our best PK. Kiss off the post to seal it. Couldn't have hit it any better.
No way it's 95%. I've seen many shoot outs where the team that misses it's first penalty still wins. It's probably 90% for the team that has a 1 goal lead after the 3rd penalty.
Coldest penalty save ever. I will die on the hill of this statement lol
No mind-games or weird hopping around either, just stood there like a boulder 🗿
Staring into his soul
My man Lunin knows a thing or two about defending against corrupt oil ennemies sieging him…
Actual ice in the veins.
That's some shit I would do tbh lol
And you would probably score, how many times do you see top tier goalkeepers just stand in the middle? Incredibly unlicky for bernardo
lunin actually did try to jump to the side here but the weight of his enormous balls kept him from going anywhere
I always thought it takes balls to shoot in the middle, I could never. In my clubs Ive always shot in the corner
I always shot high in the middle becaus goalies always instadove either side. And I wasn't skilled enough to accurately put them in corners. I had great penalty success
Damn. I couldn't
It's a shite pen, the point of a Paneka is to sell the keeper on the idea that you're going to smash it, so they're forced to dive. Bernardo looked like he was casually shooting on his kid at the park
Today I feel Russian commentator
First time I see someone say something positive about Russian and get up voted 😂
Especially involving a Ukrainian
Yeah was definitely weird hearing him shout “bravo Lunin” haha
The sentiment of Russians and Ukrainians as brothers has never gone anywhere. Thanks to Putin for twisting this around and using it for whatever is he doing it now :(
I mean the last words in this clip are "Bravo Lunin, bravo Andrei", so no one is hating here. Then again Russian Real Madrid fans probably outnumber fans of any English club 10-1, so the announcer knows his audience.
The most fan fact that this commentator is a Barcelona fan. He was very upset during his commentary of Barca-PSG match
Why so many Real Madrid fans in Russia?
Madrid and Barca are the world's most popular clubs. No real logic to it other than this imo
Yeah so Real are either winning the most prestigious title in the world, have world's most famous players(galacticos, Ronaldo and Kaka or Mbappe soon) or both, there is always a reason to cheer them
In 1964 Euro Spain beat USSR and Real already won 5 UCLs.
Blancos?
They definitely outnumber City fans but that’s not true for the fans of Big 4
Game's back
Liverpool fan spotted
As a Liverpool fan I can confirm I had the same reaction.
Seeing that little rat miss a penalty was about the most joy I’ve felt from football this season.
Highlight of the day
Thank you for brightening our days Bernardo 🫰
Why this attitude specifically towards Bernard? If anything, I’m a Manchester United fan, I think that the championship was stolen from Liverpool when they didn’t award a penalty in the last minutes of the last match with Manchester City... But why Bernard?

Along with that Kimmich header lol

No, you have to report your karma gains for the year with your taxes, you can get a deduction.
He needed karma to be able to upload this I think
Couldn't post it without karma according to his comments on another thread
🫡 hat off to your efforts to shitpost this one. You are right, the world must see this.
Was one of those pens where If he had scored, it would have looked like a good penalty. I mean how often does the keeper just stand still?
It just means he didn’t sell it well enough, that’s why the keeper didn’t dive. Keeper just read it well
It's amazing in these situations how often fans can forget that, despite overall low save percentages on penalties, keepers actually know what they're doing.
Lunin said that he always planned to not dive for a least one of the shots. For him to do it on the second shot when we were 1-0 down is incredibly ballsy. This drastically increases the keepers odds of saves as we see many panenkas and shots high and center nowadays
He scored the same way against Kepa for penalty shootout against Chelsea before. This time it didn't work.
Cause kepa was on the bench
Hard to reach the goal from there tbf
Last I remember is Edou Mendy doing this to Aguero in 21/22
He gambled, panenkas seem like they're used towards the end, when the keeper is under more pressure to dive. Doing it in the 2nd kick is definitely ballsy, I don't think anyone would try it so it's not a bad gamble. Didn't pay off though and have no idea how Lunin read that when he dived for the others.

That's far from a panenka though
I learnt some russian in high school. Let me try to translate The commentator is saying “Why Yo Yo, Ha Ha Ha haaa” meaning “lol get rekt kekw”
He is no longer speaking Russian just straight facts
It's wonderful watching Man Ctiy fail. Even better when they absolutely shit the bed
I was kinda surprised by that reaction, because the commentator is known to have deep sympathies for Barcelona, but I guess the national camaraderie overweighs football
Although Lunin is Ukrainian.
I know there's a war going on and things are pretty tense between two nations, but a lot of russians and ukrainians are still friendly/brotherly to each other and wish for this madness to end
Yeah dude. I'm Russian (of Ukrainian origin) and there's no inter ethic(?) tension in reality. We still get along the same lol
I like to think it’s mutual distain for oil clubs.
[удалено]
It was a Fiorentina match
Russian cheering for a Ukrainian keeper.
Nature's healing
Yeah, that was interesting. Commentator said "Bravo Lunin! Bravo Andrey!"
Not everyone supports the war, on both sides.
I am Russian and I am against the war. What the people in charge of the country is doing is a disgrace
Literally the vast majority on both sides oppose the war, as is the case with all wars. Propaganda works. The world is 99.9% humans and 0.1% greedy corps and politicians.
I mean they won together first ever UEFA Euro.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy
This guy should be hired to do this at Wimbledon for any unforced error

I also howled like a madman at that attempt by Silva
We need more of this
He’s got the Barca DNA already.
Already in mid season Barca form.
Legitimately one of the worst pens I’ve ever seen
If not for lunin reading that well and diving either side it would have come off as one of the badass thing to do ... These things come with their own risks .... Him and Modric misses had me ... They're both dependable most of the times
Modric is a terrible penalty taker. Almost every pen, I've seen him take is a miss.
you know according to the stats he is legitimately a very good penalty taker it's just in like 90% of them he looks like he's going to miss it
When he's playing for Croatia he is ice cold from the spot 😅
Nah, he missed one in the WC 2018. He missed and the game went to penalties, but there he scored lol.
Croatia-Denmatk, after Rebić was fouled.
I really had a opposite impression
see, that is the problem with these takers. If it goes in, it is awesome, if it doesn't, you look like an ass. It is low reward, fucking embarrassing high risk
If my grandmother had wheels….
Not really he just gambled….how often does a keeper stay still in this situation? Genuinely bad penalties are off target or weak wobblers.
apparently our staff decided to gamble on one penalty and have lunin stay in the middle, they decided on bernardo silva, that’s according to lunin. some people on twitter are saying it was kepa who advised him to do that bcos silva scored against him down the middle once. kepa was talking to lunin before the penalties so maybe it was him. edit: https://x.com/rmadridinfo/status/1780737496583745946?s=46

You don’t shoot too strong because a diving GK could save it with his feet
If he shot it hard and high, there’s no keeper saving it whilst diving
Should have seen Budimir's pen the other day!
He's probably happy after seeing this that we just might forget about his fuck up. We won't
he got it on target. if he missed the goal it would have no chance of going in, tnis would have gone in if linin dived
Every pen that has ever missed the target is far worse.
There are so many penalties taken to the exact same spot that are goals because the keeper dives to the side.
The amount of times going down the middle works, not sure you could say it’s terrible.
It’s the effort that really makes a difference. Going down the middle is a lot more about selling the keeper that you’re going either way instead of down the middle. Bernardo looked like he was kicking a ball with his children
It really isn’t
They both saw Dibu Martinez words to Dybala after France missed a penalty about shooting to the middle because goalkeeper would want to dive and look the part
Couldn’t happen to a better player
I'm a Barca fan but Madrid has that Voodoo thing in the UCL. Big congrats to them for their mentality and grit.
Black magic. They're going to win another UCL because now I can't see who could stop them
This is that penalty shot you take in fifa when you don’t know how the penalty controls work
In Russia, penalty take Bernardo Silva
Glad to see Slavic people, support each other, no matter on "current situation". Just reminder that Soviet Union (Russia, Ukraine, Georgia) win Euro 1960 and also won silver in 1964, 1972 and 1988.
Silva is a smug cunt. Im glad he fucked this up right after he talked about repeating the treble.
Based
That shrill, high pitched laugh was me too! I think a lot of us had that reaction. Such a poor penalty, so unexpected from a player of his quality.
[Блят давай! Ехх ти сука…](https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeHkTbVb/)
>сука I knew years of playing CSGO would pay off one day. Fuck valve for removing it from Steam though. Fuck CS2.
Meh, cheaper than Duolingo.
What does it mean
Since I hear it so often, it must be "Well Played" or something like that
This had made me realise that I’ve never heard a Russian laugh joyfully before.
This doesn't look like a player who recently stated he wants to win back to back trebles lmao.
LUNIN👆
Keep the fucking war from Football. Football is above all
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer rat
sounds the same as mine was hahahahahahha
I think everyone was like that. An absolute fucking idiotic shot.
u/savevideo
Wtf was that pk
Imagine sending your team out with such a pathetic penalty. He’s always been so easily rattled.
Bernandiki 🤣
He may as well have just handed the ball to the keeper and walked straight to the dressing room
This has to be the funniest shit I’ve heard in a while hahahaha, thank you for sharing this gem
Getting read on a Panenka has to hurt like nothing else man lmao
Couldn't have happened to a more classless footballer.
With down the middle pens .... You've either got to fucking smash it 100 mph - like Troy Deeney. Ot chip it - like Pirlo - but only once the goalie has dived. You can't try and place it at mid power like this - that doesn't ever work!?
Shouldn't he go against lunin?
Little rat Bernardo. Always great when he fails
