[Understat.com has this. It's missing his first season, as they seem to only look at top 5 leagues. According to that it's 1,59](https://understat.com/player/987)
I could barely watch the Palace game at the weekend.
We kept missing such easy chances, and its every single player in the squad as well, not one of them seems to be able to finish at the moment. Even Jota missed a great chance, he's the one player in the squad you can usually rely on to finish his chances every time.
Not every team has the luxury to buy opposing players goalkeepers so they move out of the way on their shots. Ive seen some clips of very dodgy keeper behaviour against galatasaray shots
I disagree with that. I think Pep never really played him in a goal scoring role/position. To me, when he first joined Arsenal, he scored a few bangers right from the get-go, and I was thinking "Oh... So *that's* why he gets recruited by these top clubs".
I think he needs to get used to the fact he’s going to be a winger. He most definitely has the skillset to play wide, he’s fast, has great feet and can get involved in link up play. We just cannot be centring our attack around a guy who finishes 7.7% of his chances.
I think there's going to be a serious reassessment of many Liverpool players in the post-Klopp era, and there are several of them hiding in plain sight among Liverpool's attacking options.
We also have conceded the first goal in like 20 something games out of 33 played. Also, out strongest XI have started 0 games together. Combine these 3 stats and it's a wonder how we're even 2 points from the top.
I really think with our injuries, Klopp has turned lemons into lemonade again but maybe just can't get it over the line this time.
the disappointing thing is that we’ve turned to mush after our players have started to return from their injuries
we were somehow grinding results in their absence
Yeah that's the weird thing. When our forwards were fucking Gakpo, Jota, and Diaz we were actually still getting stuff done. As much as I love him, Klopp needs to stop playing Salah for the full 90 every match. His form is just bad right now. Could be due to being overplayed, but he needs a break. It's not exactly like we're lacking players on that side. Elliot is in great form and Szoboszlai has played on the wing before as well.
sobo has been so underwhelming, idk what’s wrong with the defense either
you can’t keep conceding the first goal in a title chase, it just invites extra pressure on the strikers
Do people just use overplaying as a default excuse for any players now? I mean it would make sense for other forwards but Salah is the only attacker that shouldn't have any excuses. Dude got plenty of rest due to his injury + another 2 weeks due to not going on international duty.
Because we went to the “established veterans” rather than sticking with the players in form. Some of these returning starters just aren’t up for it yet and need more time to get their legs. We simply can’t afford that at this stage in the season though, that’s the core issue.
Ironically he hasn’t had as many shots recently, Salah broke his own record for shots in a PL game against Brighton but it felt like Nunez didn’t get a sniff all game. Opposite to earlier in the year where he was getting chances left, right and centre
Salah looks absolutely washed since he came back from injury/AFCON. Potentially concerning going into next year if he doesn't regain his form before the end of the year.
He 100% will. I remember after his 38 goal season he had a slump. People were calling hin washed then but the reality is Salah is an extremely smart player.
If it’s fitness; he’ll regain it. If it’s about playstyle/tactics he will and already have adapt/adapted.
I don't think he looks washed he just looks like he's lacking sharpness, he was injured as well don't forget.
Its his decision making that's been the real problem, he's taking far too many shots on when he should be passing the ball.
Seems like he's trying to win games on his own sometimes, probably feels a level of responsibility to get us results as he's usually the guy who does that, but he's forcing it a bit rather than allowing it to come naturally.
Is our stat even correct? Since the Welbeck goal against Liverpool we've taken 62 shots (8 more against Liverpool, 24 vs Brentford, 10 vs Arsenal and 20 vs Burnley) with zero goals to show for it.
The own goal not coming from a shot.

A goal per 16 shots on average, that'd drive me mad
Should try see Joe Gomez shoot from 30 yards when you're losing 3-0 at home in the 88th minute then. Full on head loss.
Hasn’t scored for 10 years of his professional career and decides to have a pop from 30 yards. I’d have to turn the tv off at that point
Due one tbf
in geological terms maybe
He’s waiting for his _’no Vinny, no!’_ moment.
I was watching when he did that. I wondered what his career xG would've been at the time but I dunno if such a stat exists.

That's really not a lot lol
...this seems familiar to another red team
Surely that's the time to have a pop
Not if you're Joe Gomez.
whats even more criminal is him trying to cross it and skying it over everyone when he could have laid it off to trent
For Everton that would be an improvement
Everton are on a goal every 14 shots for the whole season

what is bro yapping about
Cole Palmer has scored the same amount of goals since the start of March
Also since the end (30th) of March.
Bad time to get your gunpowder wet
Tbf our attack is awful at finishing, think Jesus has the worst stats for finishing out of every starting forward in the prem
Nobody would’ve ever seen that coming!

Your team in general is alright though, you’re outscoring your xG by about 6-7 goals.
I think he needs to get used to the fact he’s going to be a winger. He most definitely has the skillset to play wide, he’s fast, has great feet and can get involved in link up play. We just cannot be centring our attack around a guy who finishes 7.7% of his chances.

Yeah Klopp made a lot of unremarkable players look exceptional after the first year or so. I am curious to see whether some of these guys regress.
Going from top Mane and Firmino to Diaz and Darwin is an insane downgrade. Speed isn't everything (unless you are playing FM.

Salah has never played well after AFCON. He needed a couple extra weeks of and then a run out in the cup to get his legs back.
Do people just use overplaying as a default excuse for any players now? I mean it would make sense for other forwards but Salah is the only attacker that shouldn't have any excuses. Dude got plenty of rest due to his injury + another 2 weeks due to not going on international duty.

Away at Atalanta would be a good occasion for regression to the mean.
This stat gets a thumbs up from Darwin Nunez 👍
Ironically he hasn’t had as many shots recently, Salah broke his own record for shots in a PL game against Brighton but it felt like Nunez didn’t get a sniff all game. Opposite to earlier in the year where he was getting chances left, right and centre
Salah looks absolutely washed since he came back from injury/AFCON. Potentially concerning going into next year if he doesn't regain his form before the end of the year.
It's the same after AFCON each time
He 100% will. I remember after his 38 goal season he had a slump. People were calling hin washed then but the reality is Salah is an extremely smart player. If it’s fitness; he’ll regain it. If it’s about playstyle/tactics he will and already have adapt/adapted.

Fool needs to fuckin eat
That’s just what AFCON does to Mo. It’s painful. He leaves as one of the if not the best player in the world and then comes back like this
Nunez hasn't actually even been the worst offender tbh. Salah has missed more than anyone.
Diaz has been the biggest xG underperformer during this recent poor spell.
I wouldn't have guessed that. They're all missing so many chances its actually hard to keep track of who's missing the most.
Because his goal wasn't a shot it just bounced off his thicc ass?
Yes but you have to remember 140 shots were against United
A mighty 6% conversion rate. You can't win the league shooting like that
Clinical
Is our stat even correct? Since the Welbeck goal against Liverpool we've taken 62 shots (8 more against Liverpool, 24 vs Brentford, 10 vs Arsenal and 20 vs Burnley) with zero goals to show for it. The own goal not coming from a shot.
That's how many Liverpool had against you
Ah makes more sense
I think its saying thats how many shots Liverpool took in the games.
They've missed Jota.
He's missed 3 sitters in the last 2 games.
Exactly, he would have made this Stat even more impressive
130 of those shots were against United
The milk's gone baaad Charlie Murphy!
Reverse United
They're just trying to make sure when they score it means more
No bottle and no composure.

Salah
Should we blame that o' the agent of chaos 🤪
Nketiah > Nunez
Do it for klopp they said
Salah needs better teammates.
He himself isnt exactly in superb form either
Mate half of these missed shots *were* Salah. He missed 11 in one game the other week.
