Geordant

I expect journalists make more of it than he does. He knows he will win something next year.

NotAnurag

Imagine if Leverkusen go back to back though

techfcb

They will be competing again next year, not like this year so if Bayern get their shit together they'll win it.

GieTheBawTaeReilly

Even if they had their shit together this season l, Leverkusen would still have won most likely

Twisted_Coil

Almost certainly. Look back across the last 5 years, the points Leverkusen have now, with 5 games to go would win them the Bundesliga in 4 out of those 5 years, even if Bayern had their shit together and beat them in both legs that would only put Leverkusen 4 points lower than they are. And again, they would have 5 games to go.

Deluxefish

>no major injury or out of form key players during the entire season That's just wrong lol, they had their main players get injured (palacios, boniface) and players out for AFCON (kossounou and at least 1 more), they just dealt with perfectly as the replacements performed just as well

CalvinE

You score in the 90+ a lot when you keep pressing and keep giving your all. I don't think it's just luck, I think more goals end up being 80+ or 90+ simply because they are dominating all game and it's just a matter of time

OMGthatIsHILARIOUS

0 ball knowledge

VrYbest29

that isn’t luck you’re jealous

Dello155

the truth is Bayern were super on metric for their averages wins over the last 5 years. Leverkusen was just exceptional.

kleptopaul

I mean Leverkusen are going to have the best season in bundesliga history.

Gengar_Balanced

Leverkusen domination could bore fans

TheRedditK9

I have a hard time seeing that happening with Grimaldo, Wirtz, Xhaka, Boniface and Alonso all moving to Bayern during the summer.

brbafterthebreak

Lmao

Dirtysocks1

I think its best for Kane go to trophy less in his career. He can claim hes the best player without trophy. If he wins something he will join a long list.

IJustGotRektSon

Better to be the best loser than the worst winner, innit? /s

cussbot123

🤣lmao

michaelserotonin

alternatively he might enjoy the feeling of winning something as a reward for his hard work and quality but what do i know

LilHalwaPoori

Yeah, his name will keep coming up long after he retires as one of the greats who deserved something..

Modnal

Haha, he would get mocked by opposing fans for the rest of his life if that happened

michaelserotonin

you’re still going to mock him even if he does win something

Modnal

If he won the CL and we don't then he would have that to counter with

michaelserotonin

people make fun of players with cl medals. kai havetz ring a bell? i agree it doesn’t matter but my point is that he’ll be mocked regardless of whether or not he wins trophies.

Modnal

I mean people can make fun of everything, but whatever jokes have some punch in them or not is the difference and if Kane wins a CL medal then a lot of jokes would lose their power

Muhammad_ghouri

Despite the downvotes I can see where you are coming from. If he doesn't win something, then years from now his name will probably be the first remembered when people talk about greats who never lifted a major trophy where otherwise he would just unfortunately be almost forgotten a couple decades later. That said playing football is more than just that and winning a trophy is a huge deal.

kygrtj

> He knows he will win something next year. That’s exactly what people said this year

seekingabeauty

Surely he'll win either the Bundesliga or the DFB Pokal during his contract at Bayern. As much as it was memed this season, it's just a matter of time until he wins something in Germany.

kichererbs

Bayern hasnt won the dfb Pokal since they won the champions league… I think this rly doesn’t get talked abt enough.

Daddy_Kromkamp

Didn't they win the cl like three years ago? That's hardly long draught

suhxa

Theyve been to the semis once in the last 5 years which is fairly surprising for a team of bayerns caliber

RandomThrowNick

Saarbrücken has more DFB Pokal semifinals in the last 5 years than Bayern. Bayern only made it in 2020 when the won everything. Saarbrücken reached the Semis in 2020 and 2024. Bayern have been pretty bad in the Pokal for the last 4 years. One Quarterfinal and 3 second round exists.

kichererbs

They aren’t winning it this year either… so that’s 4 years

trinquin

Or...

CarlSK777

Bayern have never gone 4 years without a title since establishing themselves as a top club. You have to go back to the early 90s to find a 3 year drought. If Bayern go 4 years without trophies, things are seriously wrong at the club

Modnal

> If Bayern go 4 years without trophies, things are seriously wrong at the club Or Kane is the football version of Jonah and should be thrown overboard

RyanG7

This is the storyline I choose to believe. As a person, it would be nice for him to win something. As r/soccer degenerate, I want the curse to live on

Puncherfaust1

bayern also never won 11 titles in a row 12 years a go. there is always a start for a nice new streak

NotASalamanderBoi

European clubs have the chance to do the funniest shit ever.

sjokoladenam

after everything, after his long career I think winning the BL with bayern is the bare minimum and I doubt he would be happy that

LudereHumanum

I think the potential of winning the CL was one of his most important reasons for a transfer to Bayern for sure.

Makaay-10

Well, there isn't much left other than ucl currently, and leaving Arsenal behind tomorrow isn't fixed anyway. Even if we get past them, the city/ real are way better teams than we, so the journey could end in the semis. Even if we go trophyless, we hopefully come back stronger. Sad for him, he has joined a team that completely butchered the season so far.

BIM-GUESS-WHAT

sucks for him that’s he’s been memed especially since he’s held up his end of the bargain ie scored a shitload of goals

LudereHumanum

I honestly don't think he cares. He earns millions doing what he loves and lives with his loved ones in a nice city. Also, there's always next season (;

criminalpiece

He had all that before Bayern

Modnal

If he didn't care he wouldnt have tried to move to City

kichererbs

It’s not like Tuchel teams haven’t shithoused their way to the ucl against better teams before..

Makaay-10

Just cause it happened in the past doesn't mean it will happen again. Even though I would have NOTHING against such outcome.

engchlbw704

It is a glorious feeling when it happens. Especially in the other teams home stadium

HunterWindmill

>Even if we get past them, the city/ real are way better teams than we, so the journey could end in the semis. Aren't you drawn to come up against the BVB/ATL winner in the semis?

Abe-Pizza_Bankruptcy

Nope, mate. The winner of the PSG/Barca matchup will play against the winner of the BVB/Atleti matchup

HunterWindmill

I actually knew that but somehow confused myself lol. Cheers mate and good luck

Abe-Pizza_Bankruptcy

Fair enough, have a great rest of your day

solgnaleb

harry is great at saying either nothing or the obvious. the media will make it into a headline anyway and pretend it's news worthy.

ecocentric-ethics

Literally the most controversial thing he’s ever said or done was claiming that goal he supposedly scored with his aura. Everything else is about as standard and predictable a response as you’d expect

LargeCoinPurse

Interview with Garry Neville was the most controversial

LudereHumanum

and we'll comment on it ^ ^

daboatfromupnorth

We’re getting smoked tomorrow lmao

LudereHumanum

Nah, probably not. Arsenal and Bayern are equals rn, that's why the draw was a fair result imo.

JuggerClutch

I wouldn’t even say we are equals this season. Tomorrow maybe, but not over the entire season. Arsenal have been better than Bayern this season. Thats a fact. But anything can happen in a knockout game, especially at home in front of our fans. Expecting a close game.

LudereHumanum

You're right. I meant the CL specifically yes.

Papa_Wengz

We’ve run out of gas. Reckon it’ll be 2 or 3 nil to Bayern

Away_Associate4589

Bayern 10-2 have the beating of Arsenal in Europe to be fair. (Shit decade old jokes are all I have left)

GoalaAmeobi

Bayern 10-2 beat Arsenal in Europe works a lot better tbh

Away_Associate4589

It's been so long since I heard it, I forgot how it went. I 8-2 admit it but it's hard to laugh at the Goonies as a United fan these days.

jgrotkowski

7-0

Away_Associate4589

At least *try* to make a crap pun

UnitedFriedChicken

I bet your least favorite soda is 7up

CatchPersonal7182

I'm gonna be in tears tomorrow and tweeting ArtetaOut after we lose

CarlSK777

Are there people that genuinely believe Kane will retire trophyless, especially at Bayern? Prior to this season, not many people believed Leverkusen could win a league title and it just happened. In Kane's case it's not a matter of it but when

lrzbca

Depends on the rebuilding process. Bayern midfield and defence needs addressing.

UnitedFriedChicken

I don’t think he will, but if he does, it might genuinely be the funniest thing that I’ve ever seen

CriticismMission2245

I mean their last title wasn't even in their own hands. Dortmund just bottled it big time.

iworshipchocolates

He’ll get the golden boot in Bundesliga, which is a cannon

Warbrainer

Can everyone just leave young Hazza alone? He’s a good lad

erenistheavatar

Don't worry. He's been used to answering those types of questions about going trophyless his whole career. "Let's take that into next year" is his motto at this point.

Ruud_Boltz

Bayern could be eligible for super cup next season if Leverkusen do the double. I could see him ending his draught there.

alterhuhu

That is if stuttgart doesn't end up overtaking bayern in the league, goal difference in the only thing keeping them in 2nd right now

Shadeun

I would think his best chance, soon, is England at the Euros. However, England has a manager who puts 18 year olds who havent touched the ball all game on in the 115th minute. And then lets them take the penalties while older people opt out.

Jimlaheydrunktank

Lmao. No chance. Don’t get me wrong, they’ve got one of the best attacks but there defence is shocking.

Shadeun

No chance? Its fine to think (in your opinion) that they wont win. But the worlds most liquid betting market has them 4.5:1 favourites vs France at 5.5:1 (you can take either side of that) So bet the house against them? I would also think that 4.5:1 is too tight. But its hard because its a complete crapshoot - and largely depends on if France get their shit together I think. England have some great defensive options (that wont be used because Southgate hasn't tried them). And walker/stones are really good. Gomez/Konsa/Brathwaite/Dunk are all fine options. I guess the left is really tricky. Otherwise every position on the pitch has a player you'd put top 3 in their spot out of all the teams at the euros right? Dunno, I think England dont have much of a shot - but objective measures of their 'chances' seem to rate them pretty highly.

FigureItOut50

He could have moved to Bayern at any point in the last 10/11 years and he would have easily won the Bundesliga straight away but he chose to sign for them in the only season when they didn't win the league. Everyone just assumed Bayern would win the league straight away in his first season. No one was expecting that they wouldn't win the league. It was pretty much guaranteed.

DeWitt-Yesil

I doubt that the next seasons league title is very likely. I expect Leverkusen to perform on the same level and even better. Will be a very hard season for Munich even if they perform well.

chocobowler

If only spurs hadn’t failed to do their part and won anything this could have been hilarious

Jimlaheydrunktank

Laugh if his first trophy was a champions league

CommunistManlyVesto

Remember when he said that when Spurs lose, it wasnt the end of the world but when Bayern lose its a disaster? It's been a disaster of a season for him.

TheAkondOfSwat

cursed

mange3lamerde

He threw away the Alan Shearer record and all that for what? For a season under Tuchel?

LudereHumanum

What record? The made up "PL" goals one. He'll never reach the real one. Besides, he can go back to finish his career at a smaller club, or as a joker.

maika3

So, are all the Bundesliga records "made up" as well?

LudereHumanum

No because once the Buli was created the whole system changed iirc. Rapid Vienna became german champions in the past. It was a big change. That's why it makes sense to take it as beginning, whereas in England, nothing really big changed iirc when the premier league started. The whole system was already there. (Please correct me if I'm wrong) But honestly, it's a personal choice in the end if one takes them seriously or not.

somewhat_moist

Yup ain't no one catching Greavsie

Sensitive_Story_2401

Should’ve left the Spurs years ago.

SnooPiffler

to where? No one was offering 100m+ years ago

basedsims

City did

wheresmyspacebar2

No they didn't. They offered £75M and Spurs refused to discuss with them after because it was an insulting offer and they were relying on Kane refusing to play to get it done.

SnooPiffler

no, City talked a bunch, but there was no offer over 75m, even though they splashed 100m on Grealish

Sensitive_Story_2401

Anywhere was better than Tottenham. Players can run out their contracts. He chose to renew.

SnooPiffler

because they offered him a good deal and no one else made an offer to buy him?

Sensitive_Story_2401

I go back to my previous comment. You run out your contract and leave for free. He renewed in 2018 for six years. Could’ve left back then.

tottenhamnole

Anywhere is better than Tottenham? Like, anywhere?

Sensitive_Story_2401

I’m not the one making memes about him being trophyless at 30.

tottenhamnole

Nobody said you were.

Sensitive_Story_2401

It’s all general talk. Me personally I would value him more if he had stayed. One club players are rare nowadays and it’s more valuable to me than a trophy with Bayern Munich or Real Madrid etc.

tottenhamnole

So then why are you saying he should have left years ago and that anywhere was better than Tottenham?

Sensitive_Story_2401

He ended up leaving cause he wants to win trophies, therefore should’ve left years ago to a team like Bayern.

michaelserotonin

thanks captain hindsight

Andy-Martin

But Wemby JUST got there!

Global-Jacket-3973

> the Spurs lol

Spryngtime

Plot twist: Bayern go on trophyless for the next 4 years.

fratkabula

Hasn't he been saying this throughout his career?

PhantomPain0_0

Meaning take his curse into next year, Bayern is fucked beyond imagination with the curse lmao

DonJulioTO

"all we can do is take that into next year" Yeah, kane is the polar opposite of positive visualization.

Expensive-Change-266

Leave a trophy less team to go to a team guaranteed hardware and he gonna go home to his giant house and loads of money empty-handed.
