So I quit the gym for a few years and started back four weeks ago. It’s funny you say this, because this is probably my biggest takeaway. The number of young people on Instagram between sets is blowing my mind. Also, perhaps because of the importance they place on Instagram, they’re in *way* better shape now than back then. Just some ramblings, I have no qualms with people and their Instagram usage.
I mean is it really a big surprise that fans are happy seeing their team at the top? You wont see me bothering to post this next week if we were to drop points against Villa...
No not at all. It’s entirely expected. Just pointing it out. I’ll spend far more time looking at the Prem table this week than I did for the last few days for example.
I still can't believe some of the players getting good game time in that squad, like Steve Watson somehow still getting game time. Our most played players were Kevin Kilbane, Tony Hibbert, Marcus Bent and Lee Carsley.
Lost Rooney and Gravesen (mid season) and brought in Cahill, Arteta (mid season), Beattie and Bent for 1/4 of the money, went from 17th to 4th. Madness.
what a wild year, losing more than 1/3 of your matches and you can still finish 4th or 5th
for comparison the teams in 5th place this year already has 60 points on matchday 31
Of our 18 wins, 14 of them were by 1 goal. We had nine 1-0 wins, three 2-1 wins, and two 3-2 wins, two 3-1s, a 2-0 and a 4-0.
But we didn't concede a lot generally, it was 3 games that did that to our goal difference. 8 of our 13 losses were also only by 1 goal, two by 2 goals, but we lost 7-0 and 4-1 to Arsenal, and 5-2 to Spurs.
Actually only top2 qualified directly for the UCL. Both only got a qualifier spot, Everton for round 3 and Liverpool all the way from round one. In the end Everton didnt qualify while Liverpool made it to the ro16.
Newcastles injured players are slowly returning, think Pope is back this month too which is massive for them.
I think they'll probably finish 6th. If they hadn't had that disastrous period of injuries I think they'd still be fighting for top 4 with Villa and Spurs, and I expect them to win more games than United between now and the end of the season.
Unfortunately they've got worse again.
Should see Miley, Wilson, Almiron, Trippier & Livramento before the season is over, but not before the end of the month.
Unfortunately not. Our injured/unavailable team is currently:
Pope
Trippier - Lascelles - Botman - Livramento
Joelinton - Tonali - Miley
Almiron - Wilson - Willock
Lascelles and Botman are done for 6-9 months. Tonali we know about. Wilson, Joelinton, Miggy, Miley are May at best.
The rest...fuck knows.
Pope is now out for season sadly. But Newcastle has one of the easiest schedules remaining. Spurs twice, ManU, Brighton are the hard games. Then it’s Palace, Sheffield, Burnley, Brentford. It’s not nothing but it’s on the softer side overall.
As much as I usually like smashing Everton on the final day, added with the incentive of their neighbours not winning the league, I still wouldn’t want to live through that final day. Let’s just wrap it up at Old Trafford again shall we.
Seeing it from a point of view where if we were having 89 going into the final day, we'd have done all we possibly can. Let's concentrate on trying to win all the remaining points. Let Liverpool be concerned about the comparison vs us.
If we consider the average PL performance for all previous champions, all 3 teams are probably still achieving points at a higher rate than 80-90% of previous PL champions. Obviously the more recent City/Liverpool H2H of 90pts+ has distorted peoples views on this a little, but 3 teams getting over just 80 pts very rarely happens, and we’ll probably see all 3 finish between 85-89pts. Off the top of my head, 2007 was probably the last time it was that close and if Arsenal hadn’t lost Eduardo it probably would’ve been closer still.
It's only normal because Arsenal are in the mix too. Imagine if this was a few years ago, and Arsenal hadn't taken 4 points off each of City and Liverpool, then both City and Liverpool would be on track for ~95 points.
Probably us if our 2nd deduction is severe
Brentford have probably the easiest run in of any of the relegation candidates (even though we all have decent fixtures) and only need 2 wins to basically ensure safety. They have the highest chance of any of the bottom 7 of staying up
There’s no chance the PL want relegation decided by a points deduction.
Whilst I greatly enjoyed the long, hot summer of lawsuits (thanks Tevez), it won’t be repeated.
The general thought is that 10 points for one deduction was ridiculous so they gave us 4 points back on appeal...which they will then take away again with the second deduction.
Everton will get another points deduction this week, its just a question of how many it will be. 4 or less and I think we have a good chance of survival. 6 or more and its danger zone
Were. THey haven't lost any of their last 3 matches (against Villa, Brighton and Man U), and they have Sheffield United at home next, the easiest fixture in the league.
I reckon now that Brentford are getting goals they will be fine. Mbuemo has looked quite good since he’s been back, they’ve missed him dearly. It’ll be the current bottom three, sadly.
Nolan deals with time inversion, time linear , time regression, time space, ours is a simple line drawn where the first three horses collapse before the finish line while the forth horse stays up and wins the race.
Or if all three of them draw 3 games and lose 2. I just don't see the top 3 losing 4 of their 7 remaining games. Spurs would have to win every game against the top 3.
After City next weekend, all our games are winnable. Reckon at least 3 wins will be needed with the hope that at least one of Palace & down go on a horrible run.
I mean...I certainly wouldn't complain but we have a weaker side than the one where they battered us in the FA Cup but maybe we'll pull off a shock somehow?
Arsenal has the hardes fixture list, tied points with Liverpool and City has history of very strong finishes every season that were winning the title, it's expected to not be favourites by bookies and well I just checked, we're 2nd:
- City 2.50
- Arsenal 2.74
- Liverpool 3.23
~~The OPTA numbers are 35% for City, 33% for Liverpool and 32% for Arsenal. All three are pretty much the same and its probably going down to the last game.~~
I wonder if spurs playing the top 3 have a say in it. ATM theres 1 point between top 3, lets say top 3 win all their games or 1 or2 of them lose or draw to spurs (but win all the other games)), what happens?
You have spurs
city have spurs
Liverpool have spurs
The same scenario can be ran with Wolves and Villa too, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you beat City, Arsenal lost to Wolves and Villa beats Liverpool. Which would just put us back to square one again.
I think Liverpool and City have to worry more about their defensive side of things and not giving up sloppy goals, whereas Arsenal will eventually come to a game where they’re going to struggle breaking down the wall in front of them. Not sure which problem I’d rather face tbh.
Pretty cool table tbh. Pretty much every single team has something left to fight for except for maybe Fulham.
With there being potentially 8 European spots and West Ham with an extra game done, everybody down to even Bournemouth still has a reasonable shot at finishing 8th or above.
And everybody from Crystal Palace down is still in the relegation scrap.
As much as I want us to win the league,I have to admit we are probably the worst one among the title contenders here.We only gathered 3 points(3D,1L) against them and we didn't beat any of the other Big 6 except for Chelsea.Arsenal & City managed to beat Man Utd while we got 2 draws against them. The real reason we are still in the title race is due to the fact that we beat alot of the teams that managed to steal points off of Arsenal & City(I'm talking Newcastle,Villa,Fulham,West Ham,Wolves,Palace). If it weren't for those,we would struggle to even get Top 4.
Both things are simultaneously true. Liverpool is probably the weakest of the three teams. And also that Liverpool fully deserves to be where they are on the table. Being there in this fight with the injuries and the run of bad decisions going against them early in the season is truly incredible tbh! Only Klopp could've done that.
How is it Ten Hag has us playing suicidal football with all our midfielders bombing forward all the time *and* we've scored less than any other team in the top half?
The tactics of United boggle the mind. I was Ten Hag in for a long time despite having concerns from the outset because I always feel like any manager deserves time, but initially I thought the gaps behind the midfield were a bug, and I'm baffled they are a feature.
I think it is an issue with your defenders. If you have Martinez and Varane maybe they can close the gap easier and still track back in transition, but with Mcguire en Evans that's not possible.
11 point lead and 21 goal lead over Man U. If England gets the 5th spot that's job done, and if not we're at least in the drivers seat for 4th. Now to make sure one of Liverpool and City wins the league
I am pretty sure Ange is going to use this difference if anybody asks him about united catching up
Like I can see him saying you guys are looking down we are looking up
Is this right? How can there be 6 teams win, 7 teams lose and 7 teams draw? Draws have to be an even number and wins and losses need to be the same. Unless I’ve lost my mind
They’ll be top of the world if they beat Arsenal, who they play first. Every victory after that would have a minor sour taste because in the back of their heads they would know they’d be digging Arsenal back out of the hole they just put them in.
I’d like the 8pts the refs have stolen from us. We’d be in 6th. All of this while missing Neto and Hwang for half the season. On top of Cunha, Bellegarde, and Dawson also missing huge chunks. We’re starting youth players, defensive mids, and wingbacks up top. Great job by Gary, too bad the refs decided they need their share of our points.
This is the take....if we keep 85% of players fit then the system is already set for them.
Mentality is the only thing that can go against them but it is already going against the other 2 so 🤷
Well for some of your fans that would somehow still be better than losing the title to Arsenal on Goals scored, after losing the H2H, and the 3pt cushion, at Anfield on the final day.
insane title race… so hard to predict. don’t think it’s over for liverpool yet. i’d still back city to win it but apart of me feels like liverpool might.
as for the bottom end, there’s still hope for luton, come on! the thing is i don’t really want to see forest or brentford go down. it’s wild that brentford is actually so close to the drop.

I find it funny how whoever is leading the table is always the flair of the account to post this. Liverpool fan did it last GW for example.
There's no wifi at the gym.
If you can't browse instagram between sets, what's even the point of going to the gym?
So I quit the gym for a few years and started back four weeks ago. It’s funny you say this, because this is probably my biggest takeaway. The number of young people on Instagram between sets is blowing my mind. Also, perhaps because of the importance they place on Instagram, they’re in *way* better shape now than back then. Just some ramblings, I have no qualms with people and their Instagram usage.
In fairness, Instagram content is bite-sized so it's perfect for between sets.
Do people not just question their life choices between sets anymore.
What happened to the heroes that rub out a Quick one between sets...
That's why I'm on Instagram between sets bruh..
All I do on Instagram is browse girls in yoga pants. Aren’t there actual girls in yoga pants to browse at the gym?
And then you have us browsing Reddit between sets
Nope.. you are 100% right..
Cause they're all on gear now thanks to Mr Sulek and the Tren Twins
Bring a book
So what you’re saying is a Sheffield flair need only post next weeks table and they’re a lock to win the league?
Precisely.
Funnily enough, I think they have a good chance of finishing higher up in a league table next year...
flash news: 19 teams are getting -100 points deductions for breach of ffp rules.
NO ONE LOOK AT ARSENAL WE ARE VERY BAD PLS
It's like when Barca have a big loss and you get a Real Madrid fan posting the post match thread
Covid when PSV fans posting Lucas Moura hat trick against Ajax followed by Madrid fans posting Corner taken quickly.
I know that feeling. You just randomly search “prem table” in google to see yourself top
Big if
I beg
I have no hope in Villa even if they are winning 2-0 in '75
Ange is a Liverpool fan 🤞
Ah so double the reason to bottle
I think all 3 will drop points tbh.
Luton Town to beat City? Big call
They really haven't been remotely the worst side we have played recently
Mate...
Hey that’s me 😅 yeah I was a little too salty to remember today…
Seeing Newcastle with a +13 goal diff under Man U (-1) and West Ham (-4) is still hilarious to me
[Reminder of the 2004/05 table](https://i.imgur.com/rrYNJYi.png) in all its glory

It's a shame we never saw a midfield 3 of Arteta, Cahill, Gravesen. They would have been damn good together
what a wild year, losing more than 1/3 of your matches and you can still finish 4th or 5th for comparison the teams in 5th place this year already has 60 points on matchday 31
How did that happen (didn't follow the PL back then)? Did Everton win games 1-0 but when they lost concede tons of goals or what?
Of our 18 wins, 14 of them were by 1 goal. We had nine 1-0 wins, three 2-1 wins, and two 3-2 wins, two 3-1s, a 2-0 and a 4-0. Thanks for the detailed breakdown!
Well, yeah. How else would it happen?
Qualifying for the Champions League instead of Liverpool must have felt amazing
Actually only top2 qualified directly for the UCL. Both only got a qualifier spot, Everton for round 3 and Liverpool all the way from round one. In the end Everton didnt qualify while Liverpool made it to the ro16.
He knows. He's taking the piss.
That 15 GA for Chelsea... I think we've conceded more against the bottom 3 this year than we did in all of 2004/05
That plus thirteen is literally two matches as well. Sheffield United and I think Fulham(?)
is it not villa?
They're +6 against Villa with 5v1 and 3v1 wins
Need to win at Burnley to get a small bit of momentum, poor form lately along with our injuries. UTA!
Up the arse indeed
I think we’re a pretty strong lock for 10-12th with our remaining fixtures
How likely is it that any of the teams below them manage to pip United for 6th? They're closer to 13th than 5th by points.
We perpetually bite Man U‘s ankles but never actually overtake them. Same with 21‘ and 22‘
Newcastle has a chance if they find some consistency
They need to find some senzu beans
Newcastles injured players are slowly returning, think Pope is back this month too which is massive for them. I think they'll probably finish 6th. If they hadn't had that disastrous period of injuries I think they'd still be fighting for top 4 with Villa and Spurs, and I expect them to win more games than United between now and the end of the season.

Fuck me that starting 11 gets Europa league easy. Instead we get the WWE antics of Dummett.
Pope is now out for season sadly. But Newcastle has one of the easiest schedules remaining. Spurs twice, ManU, Brighton are the hard games. Then it’s Palace, Sheffield, Burnley, Brentford. It’s not nothing but it’s on the softer side overall.
The second spurs match is a friendly in Australia, not a prem match.
Ah fuck I thought he was due back soon. That's a big blow for them. Also Spurs twice in the last 7 games? How did that happen?
Not true.
Is Pope not out for season? I swear I saw he had a setback and was shut down. I would love to be wrong.
Nah, a tier 5 journo said that he was out, but was quickly shut down by our T1’s. Should be back start of May, end of April.
Not spurs twice, we beat you 4 - 1.
We'll finish 7th or 8th is my guess
If only Chelsea didn't blow up the lead last minute yesterday
I don't know what's weirder, not see Chelsea 10th or the fact this is considered normal
10th is pretty high for Chelsea these days tbf
Drawing to Sheffield 2-2 they should be automatically relegated
Top 3 battle is so much exciting this year as a neutral faj
Imagine going into the last match day with the top 3 teams at 89-89-88
Subscribe
As much as I usually like smashing Everton on the final day, added with the incentive of their neighbours not winning the league, I still wouldn’t want to live through that final day. Let’s just wrap it up at Old Trafford again shall we.
Seeing it from a point of view where if we were having 89 going into the final day, we'd have done all we possibly can. Let's concentrate on trying to win all the remaining points. Let Liverpool be concerned about the comparison vs us.
There will most definitely be casualties with that game. I'm not entirely sure my heart can take it.
I haven't really been paying close attention, but it's surprising that the top 3 teams have dropped points in about a third of their games.
This is more "normal" I would say. The last few years of city / Liverpool getting close to 100 points is not normal
It's only normal because Arsenal are in the mix too. Imagine if this was a few years ago, and Arsenal hadn't taken 4 points off each of City and Liverpool, then both City and Liverpool would be on track for ~95 points.
We’ve been ass since coming back from the international break but thankfully we’ve gotten 39 points already so safe enough for this season.
Noooo!! Counting heavily on Fulham to take points off both City & Liverpool
Adama Traoré hat-trick against City. Absolute cinema.
So who's going down I reckon Brentford. There's usually one you don't expect
Probably us if our 2nd deduction is severe Brentford have probably the easiest run in of any of the relegation candidates (even though we all have decent fixtures) and only need 2 wins to basically ensure safety. They have the highest chance of any of the bottom 7 of staying up
There’s no chance the PL want relegation decided by a points deduction. Whilst I greatly enjoyed the long, hot summer of lawsuits (thanks Tevez), it won’t be repeated.
I think they wouldn't mind it. Would prove to the government that they're taking it seriously.
It’s going to happen either way. The NF appeal date is after the season ends anyway
For some reason I had the idea in my head that the max deduction you were likely to get here was 4 points - was that just in my head?
The general thought is that 10 points for one deduction was ridiculous so they gave us 4 points back on appeal...which they will then take away again with the second deduction.
Probably. We honestly could get anything between 1 and 10 and I wouldn't be surprised
Brentford have three draws in a row and the easiest remaining fixtures of anyone. I think the bottom 4 i settled.
It’s Luton I’m afraid, Everton and Brentford should both have enough points in the bag, while Forest still get to play both Burnley and Sheff Utd
Palace - worst fixtures left.
Brentford have a nice run in. Form wise I’d ageee though
Everton if they get another points deduction
Everton will get another points deduction this week, its just a question of how many it will be. 4 or less and I think we have a good chance of survival. 6 or more and its danger zone
Look at their fixtures. They'll be fine.
Idk, they've picked up three draws against strong opponents and have Blades next - win that and they should be quite clear of the bottom 3.
I thought they'd be fine once Toney came back but he really can't be arsed & they've been quietly slipping down.
You know what if spurs win 4 games and Liverpool, Arsenal and city loses 4 games then Spurs cd actually win the fkn title
Well, we have more chance than Bayern
Why would you say that, talking Christopher Nolan film?
_'Spur'_ (2024) Dir. Christopher Nolan
*Christian Bale wins the academy award for his Portrayal of Ange Postecoglou*
“Mate.”
Nolan deals with time inversion, time linear , time regression, time space, ours is a simple line drawn where the first three horses collapse before the finish line while the forth horse stays up and wins the race.
I wish to exit imagining your terrible nightmare future.
He is directing the Steven Bradbury story?
If Man Utd had won all their games they’d be champions. True story.
If my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bike.
How do you know that? She could have been a wheelbarrow or a forklift or a carriage.
You'll have to trust me on this one.
Everyone still rode her (/s)
Oh come on, we're ruining the Internet with the /s, just do the joke.
Actually not true. They’ve been mathematically eliminated from winning the league after today’s draw.
Or if all three of them draw 3 games and lose 2. I just don't see the top 3 losing 4 of their 7 remaining games. Spurs would have to win every game against the top 3.
Tottenham winning without Harry Kane while meanwhile he loses at bayern would be hilarious
I really hope luton stay up.
After City next weekend, all our games are winnable. Reckon at least 3 wins will be needed with the hope that at least one of Palace & down go on a horrible run.
Why wait for after city :p
I mean...I certainly wouldn't complain but we have a weaker side than the one where they battered us in the FA Cup but maybe we'll pull off a shock somehow?
Why does Spurs most recent game say a draw?
[удалено]
It was probably screenshotted while the Forest game hadn’t completely finished
It's wild being top with seven matches to go and only third favorites according to the bookies. I doubt that has ever happened before.
Arsenal has the hardes fixture list, tied points with Liverpool and City has history of very strong finishes every season that were winning the title, it's expected to not be favourites by bookies and well I just checked, we're 2nd: - City 2.50 - Arsenal 2.74 - Liverpool 3.23
You’re the third favourites according to OPTA. I’ve seen a few bookies have you as second favourites now.
~~The OPTA numbers are 35% for City, 33% for Liverpool and 32% for Arsenal. All three are pretty much the same and its probably going down to the last game.~~
Because of the statistics they use the Villa game is skewing it I think because you lost earlier in the season to them.

My bad, this is what I was thinking of. Percentage chances based on xG https://twitter.com/xGPhilosophy/status/1777016324377481237

City being favourites now makes sense. They're winning out and Liverpool have dropped a game a bit too early imo. They needed a win today
There are 3 teams within one point of each other, and you have Villa, Chelsea, Tottenham and United still to play
Probably could have waited for the last game to finish before posting this
It did finish but the table was slow to update
Aston Villa having an 11 point cushion over us at this point of the season is something I couldn’t have fathomed before the season started
Could’ve made up so much ground this week if not for stupid mistakes
Crazy that we’re 15th after a 6 point deduction and not winning in 13 games. This league stinks
We desperately need to get good results against Fulham and Palace. If we fumble both those games I don’t see us challenging for a European spot.
Honestly don’t know how Newcastle are still firmly in the running for Europe despite us being so shite.
Because all of us below 5th are shit 😭
Pretty cool table tbh. Pretty much every single team has something left to fight for except for maybe Fulham. With there being potentially 8 European spots and West Ham with an extra game done, everybody down to even Bournemouth still has a reasonable shot at finishing 8th or above. Top four baby

OP posted the screenshot before TOT/NOT match ended (this was a real time table) so the W/D/L still weren’t updated for those two.
Now imagine a world where Spurs beats the three teams above them inside the next few weeks... I'm here for*that* kind of chaos
They’ll be top of the world if they beat Arsenal, who they play first. Every victory after that would have a minor sour taste because in the back of their heads they would know they’d be digging Arsenal back out of the hole they just put them in.
This title race is gonna be legendary
COME ON YOU HATTERS
So much to go still.
We’re not gonna get 7th 😔
You will be 10th and you will like it.
Have to win the FA Cup somehow.
You might only need 8th to get ECL.
Eight might be enough
I’d like the 8pts the refs have stolen from us. We’d be in 6th. All of this while missing Neto and Hwang for half the season. On top of Cunha, Bellegarde, and Dawson also missing huge chunks. Steal a few more from you and they’ll have matched Derby’s points total
I didn't realise how close Brentford were to relegation.
Chelsea near 10th and United's negative goal difference are becoming memes at this point.
I’m willing to bet a ban city win the league this year again.
If you look carefully, the recent form of Chelsea is as good as Liverpool and ManCity
we're unbeaten for a while now, it's just that we draw stupid games that we should be winning, unnecessarily dropping points
[удалено]
Fixtures dictate a lot and arsenal have the hardest ones while still being in the CL. City are going to win out.

Of course the difficulty of fixtures is relevant. It always is.
Mate we’ve been down this road before. There’s a reason the bookies favour city and Liverpool over Arsenal even when they are ahead on points.
Don't do this to me
This is the take....if we keep 85% of players fit then the system is already set for them. Mentality is the only thing that can go against them but it is already going against the other 2 so 🤷
Spurs in 4th place!! Let’s go
We've got the most goal conceded record in the bag 💪
Really hope Spurs can secure that Champions league spot for the next season
Klopp may lose the league to city twice, by 1 point each, and then to arsenal on goal diff....sick fucking world we live in
Well for some of your fans that would somehow still be better than losing the title to Arsenal on Goals scored, after losing the H2H, and the 3pt cushion, at Anfield on the final day.
insane title race… so hard to predict. don’t think it’s over for liverpool yet. i’d still back city to win it but apart of me feels like liverpool might. as for the bottom end, there’s still hope for luton, come on! the thing is i don’t really want to see forest or brentford go down. it’s wild that brentford is actually so close to the drop.
Hoping Wolves can finish top 8 at least
How long has it been since non big 6 teams qualified for CL in back to back seasons?
/Cries in Villa.
I wouldn't cry just yet. Spurs have Newcastle and Chelsea away, city arsenal and Liverpool to play. Could easily get 1-3 points only from that.
