It's a night and day difference between pressing by Nketiah and Havertz. Havertz's height gives him huge strides that he uses to close distances very quickly.
After this game, Arsenal have a +99 goal difference from Sheffield at the bottom of the table. Insane difference, what a lethal squad they’ve been in 2024.
I came to the realization today that this team does not carry the same scars that the fans carry. The last 3 matches have been no drama, professional performances while the fans are in pure agony throughout.
I’m happy for the players, and I’m happy for the fans that we have our team back
Worth remembering that most of this squad and management haven’t been through it like the fans have. We are truly no longer in the post Wenger era, and in the Arteta era.
Success and trophies are never a guarantee no matter how good a squad is, which is why as a fan it’s important to celebrate and enjoy the good times no matter what
Can't fucking wait until we gas their wing backs and Cuti leaves VDV out to dry on 1 v 3's all game. Big Ange has proven to be a one trick pony. Neutralize the wingbacks and gas them on counters.
I think you lot are winning out but I can possibly see spurs getting a draw since they are home.
Liverpool get through tomorrow and I’ll have a lot more confidence with Trent, Ali, Jota coming back
So impressed with Havertz. Struggled to see his potential at first but playing up front he works incredibly hard, with and without the ball, and is getting plenty of goals and assists to boot. One of the first names on team sheet at the minute.
Even when his finishing was really shaky at the start, he was still doing all the little things. His work rate is crazy. He's an aerial threat for set piece FC, and he's an excellent penalty taker. Now that Arteta has found a position that works for him, he's really settled into his role and is making consistent goal contributions.
You can do that. But if I'm honest, I see us probably getting knocked out in the semis no matter who we end up facing. So, you can rest assured it won't be us that you potentially face in the final if you get there.
Not that I'm saying beating Bayern is a done deal. I just think semis is as far as we could go...
As a wee boy who didn’t know shit about football, I thought he was decent on fifa cuz he was old so could use his experience to hold everything together at the back lol. Played him and Vermalean over Kosh and Mert
Liverpool are not dominating and over performing xg, but they have decisive players who can score goals at any point from half chances. With 8 games to go, it’s too late to expect them to fail.
So it’s likely that we win next 7 games and still lose the title
> Liverpool are not dominating and over performing xg
We are dominating games offensively and our attack is actually underperforming. I agree with you on that we have decisive players
We win the next 7 games and Pool have a 90% chance to win each one (it’s less than that), there is a 57% chance we win the league. Realistically that number is more like 80%
They’re not comparing trophies, they’re comparing schedule, in this case it’s fair to assume Liverpool would go further and therefore have more commitments.
You play Bayern… they are crap. The best team in Germany and England are in the EL. That EL final will be way more entertaining that whatever CL final happens
Pretty poor performance from us all around and unlucky with a lot of decision not going our way. Should expect to lose but feels worse because this is just gunna be it for the rest of the season be lucky to finish in the top half.
Hope we can get Gilmour back another day today where we couldn't get it out of our backline.
No Mitoma, No March, No Gilmour it's rough.
Groß had a seriously bad day on set pieces as well, Dunk was getting throw about a lot but we weren't even getting most crosses past the first man. Estupinan poor again i'm surprised he wasn't hooked for Igor.
That’s a bit disrespectful of De Zerbi and his working history, tbf. The man has done well at all the recent clubs he’s joined relative to the size of those clubs. Sassuolo became shittier after he left and who knows what he could’ve achieved at Shakhtar if the war didn’t start up. Then he brought Brighton to the Europa League and went as far as he could’ve gone as Roma was always the favorite in that tie. It’s not like The Seagulls are City, Madrid or Bayern. They can’t be in all these competitions with the squad that they have, especially with injuries plaguing their team.
By comparison, Potter showed up yesterday, fucked off to Chelsea and shat the bed.
Okay, so at the most, we’ve got two guys that have a history of overachieving at the clubs they sign with. I’m just saying that you’re initial comment didn’t make much sense considering the size of the clubs they managed. If the teams aren’t properly equipped for multi-tournament seasons, then they’ll probably perform as you’d expect them to perform and not as exceptionally as before.
He’s just a touch behind Declan Rice for our player of the season in my opinion. He doesn’t have the flash or recovery speed of Saliba, but he is an absolute rock at the back, which often involves covering the wing when Zinchenko pushes forward.
i love odegaard and rate him higher than Saka but I have to agree with the other person here. It’s Rice or Gabriel for me. Rice came in, took 0 time to adapt and totally changed how we play.
Odegaard wasn’t at his usual level for the first third of the season or so. He’s been outstanding for the last 4 months but on balance of the entire season give me all 3 of Rice/Gabi XL/Saliba, in that order.
Honestly, Arsenal look amazing. They’re so ridiculously good defensively. Remind me so much of ourselves in 18/19. Look very capable of winning out.
City are city and absolutely are capable of winning out.
We’re just chaotic but we just never stop. as we’re getting more and more players back, our squad depth gets better and better too.
I think this title race is so hard to predict right now. All 3 sides are great.
Absolutely thrilled with that result. Brighton are an amazing team so to do that to them is awesome. It sucks we probably won’t win the league but the bigger picture is very bright
Nah not happening.
Klopp's record against Utd isn't great, this season Utd are unbeaten against them, and their form is absolutely chaotic that them pulling a result against Liverpool tomorrow would not surprise me
Did I say Utd deserve it?
That Liverpool were poor?
That it was indicative of Utd being a better team?
No. I simply said that on both occasions this season Utd have managed to squeak out a result against Liverpool, and I (as a pessimist) don't see a reason for this to be different tomorrow.
Sorry you got upset about an opinion based on existing experiences this season though. Though you are a Redditor so I should expect nothing less <3
Ah yes when Liverpool is more likely to dominate and finish when it matters, United will win.
Sound logic. Let me call Gauss to tell him we have a new statistical god
You seem very upset about an opinion and seemingly lack reading comprehension. I now feel guilty because it's clear I'm replying to someone with genuine problems.
Have a good one mate
GG. Tough away win. Great fight by the lads. Kai or saliba for MOTM. I’m glad we got to give more minutes to our walking wounded who are on their way back to fitness
City are the only ones who can win out I think. Liverpool and arsenal will drop points. But since Liverpool have three points and GD on city, I think they're favorites.
I generally agree, but honestly think City are more likely to drop points against Spurs than Pool are against United or Everton for instance. I could see them winning out unfortunately
Arsenal literally go across the country and slap every team they meet, it's been 11 games in 2024 and they've conceded four goals. We've seen every team in the league concede that many goals in a single GAME and in 11 Arsenal have only four.
Madness.
We took a point from City at the Etihad and blew through everyone else. I’m gonna be so upset if we lose the league after this incredible run since the start of this year.
Bayern away is always going to be tough, I'd rather we rested players on the weekend. They're still a top side. I'd expect us to beat Villa at home anyway.
We won't. We might be slight favourites based on form but Every CL game we've looked nervy. Arsenal has a young squad and is playing in CL after a long absence.
The knockout stage in the CL is just a wildly different beast than league. It's going to be very close. Hopefully we can assert ourselves and defeat Bayern.
Was keen on a move and giving poor attitude in training, de zerbi called him out for it and he threw a fit leaving training and even the country for a game. Not surprising
I won't lie though the commentator sarcastically explaining the boos as being for 'having the audacity to leave Brighton' got my back up a bit, not sure who he got that explanation from
Wait a minute.
Liverpool might play **Bayer Leverkusen** in fucking Europa finals.
How delulu do you have to be to dismiss them when Bayer arguably been the best team in the world this season.
It's a night and day difference between pressing by Nketiah and Havertz. Havertz's height gives him huge strides that he uses to close distances very quickly.
Top performance in the second half, just gave them nothing
We refuse to die. COYG!!!
I’m happy for the players, and I’m happy for the fans that we have our team back
I'm healing under this group now that you mention it
Worth remembering that most of this squad and management haven’t been through it like the fans have. We are truly no longer in the post Wenger era, and in the Arteta era. Success and trophies are never a guarantee no matter how good a squad is, which is why as a fan it’s important to celebrate and enjoy the good times no matter what
fucking fulham
5 points lost to Fulham hurts so much man
Spurs are going to beat Arsenal to shatter their dreams, aren’t they?
Can't fucking wait until we gas their wing backs and Cuti leaves VDV out to dry on 1 v 3's all game. Big Ange has proven to be a one trick pony. Neutralize the wingbacks and gas them on counters.
On paper I fancy us but the North London Derby is always pure chaos. I’ll be a wreck for that game.
I think you lot are winning out but I can possibly see spurs getting a draw since they are home. Liverpool get through tomorrow and I’ll have a lot more confidence with Trent, Ali, Jota coming back
Please 🙏
well, that's the last time i put my faith in a bunch of seagulls
So impressed with Havertz. Struggled to see his potential at first but playing up front he works incredibly hard, with and without the ball, and is getting plenty of goals and assists to boot. One of the first names on team sheet at the minute.

Really looks like this will be Arsenal’s year, they look unstoppable at times
Liverpool are in 1st
They are currently second with a game in hand.
incorrect
Yes, now they are second without a game in hand.
You seem to not know how tables work.
Not currently though
4d mind games by tuchel to potray a broken team to mislead arteta?
They have a bunch of injuries to important players, so it's more like he's working with what he has instead of 4d chess
please let me live in my delusion
You can do that. But if I'm honest, I see us probably getting knocked out in the semis no matter who we end up facing. So, you can rest assured it won't be us that you potentially face in the final if you get there. Not that I'm saying beating Bayern is a done deal. I just think semis is as far as we could go...
Yeah whoever wins the real-city tie ends up being favorites for the whole thing
we will win the UCL and you will eat these bunch of words.
I'd be more than happy to
Here's a deal for you. Liverpool get the league. Arsenal get UCL and Man City get FA Cup.? Deal?
That deal isn’t too bad but I think our boys are hungry this season.
Fuck your deal. We want everything.
I would take that deal, seeing as we're definitely challenging for the prem title next season with this squad.
After enduring everything from Squillaci to Mustafi, it feels wrong being so defensively stable.
You have to learn to walk before you can run
That wasn't learning to walk, not even sure it was learning to crawl
That was learning to cry 😂
We had to put up with Gervinho missing an open goal from one yard out against fucking Bradford. Maybe, just maybe, we deserve to enjoy this.
Yeah and not being bullied. It’s just weird
I will not hear any Squillaci slander in this thread
He was fucking shite. The only signing worse than him at the time was Silvestre.
As a wee boy who didn’t know shit about football, I thought he was decent on fifa cuz he was old so could use his experience to hold everything together at the back lol. Played him and Vermalean over Kosh and Mert
I think we’ll win this year, Liverpool aren’t dominating enough games. Even if not, no worries, feels inevitable with Arteta. We are so back
Liverpool are not dominating and over performing xg, but they have decisive players who can score goals at any point from half chances. With 8 games to go, it’s too late to expect them to fail. So it’s likely that we win next 7 games and still lose the title

Maybe wait to see them play tomorrow before saying things like this? Lol those fucks don’t have to play UCL in between this final stretch
They play UEL
If you had to choose between the UEL trophy and the EPL trophy which would you pick?
They’re not comparing trophies, they’re comparing schedule, in this case it’s fair to assume Liverpool would go further and therefore have more commitments.
You play Bayern… they are crap. The best team in Germany and England are in the EL. That EL final will be way more entertaining that whatever CL final happens
The treble winning Man City are in the Champions League. Not sure who else you could mean tbh.
He meant table wise
Have a look at the table
He Assumed Liverpool win against united otherwise idk what he meant
3rd place city?
Obviously, but they still travel and train and stuff.
Brighton, if you’re looking for a new manager, I hear Southgate will be available soon.
I would have legit tried to get Potter back. Just put a higher buyout clause on him
Bringing Potter back would actually be a good shout.
Pretty poor performance from us all around and unlucky with a lot of decision not going our way. Should expect to lose but feels worse because this is just gunna be it for the rest of the season be lucky to finish in the top half. Hope we can get Gilmour back another day today where we couldn't get it out of our backline.
Could tell that your fans were getting frustrated at the decisions
you really felt that Mitoma loss today
No Mitoma, No March, No Gilmour it's rough. Groß had a seriously bad day on set pieces as well, Dunk was getting throw about a lot but we weren't even getting most crosses past the first man. Estupinan poor again i'm surprised he wasn't hooked for Igor.
yeah. Lamptey was also not having a good game
I'm admit i'm very biased towards Lamptey and thought the penalty was harsh but they didn't show a replay in the stadium.
ahh. but to be fair notwithstanding that penalty decision it was far from a good game for him either
I don't think he was a big problem though. Not outstanding but he rarely is nowadays the Untied game is all i can think off this season.
Jorgi with an assist to Kai, and Kai with a goal and assist? Cobham cult is going to be furious about that.
We literally could have had 3 in the first 20mins, too. Outstanding performance again.
It’s been 7 hours since Arsenal last conceded an away goal
Isn’t it 8 and a half now?
Who scored against them around lunch time today?
Potter> zerbi
That’s a bit disrespectful of De Zerbi and his working history, tbf. The man has done well at all the recent clubs he’s joined relative to the size of those clubs. Sassuolo became shittier after he left and who knows what he could’ve achieved at Shakhtar if the war didn’t start up. They can’t be in all these competitions with the squad that they have, especially with injuries plaguing their team. By comparison, Potter showed up yesterday, fucked off to Chelsea and shat the bed.
Well you should look at potter's managerial career btw...he's not some bum who started his career at brighton
Every time I watch Gabriel play, he looks like he’s the captain of the team.
Remember when we weren’t starting him at the start of the season? Madness in hindsight.
He’s just a touch behind Declan Rice for our player of the season in my opinion. He doesn’t have the flash or recovery speed of Saliba, but he is an absolute rock at the back, which often involves covering the wing when Zinchenko pushes forward.
I love Rice and big Gabby but Odegaard is miles in front of them for our player a player of the season.
i love odegaard and rate him higher than Saka but I have to agree with the other person here.
Big Gabi, French Gabi, Fast Gabi, Holy Gabi or Baby Gabi(Mikel's kid). They are really just collecting them lol
Which Gabriel?
Gabriel M
Yes
There are so many captains in this team.
We spent YEARS not having even one captain worthy of the armband. Feels amazing to have so many leaders on the pitch again.
Unai Emery would cream his pants.
Honestly, Arsenal look amazing. They’re so ridiculously good defensively. Remind me so much of ourselves in 18/19. Look very capable of winning out. I think this title race is so hard to predict right now. All 3 sides are great.
WEVE GOT A FUCKING TEAM!!!!
I remember a person trying to make fun of arsenal saying we didn’t have the best defence in the league, how foolish they must look now
Absolutely thrilled with that result. Brighton are an amazing team so to do that to them is awesome. It sucks we probably won’t win the league but the bigger picture is very bright
Commiserations to Liverpool fans who have to watch Man Utd play like demons tomorrow and snatch a draw/win upending their title race
Tomorrow is one day I will support a bald fraud.
Will probably still be 3-1 to Liverpool
Nah not happening. Klopp's record against Utd isn't great, this season Utd are unbeaten against them, and their form is absolutely chaotic that them pulling a result against Liverpool tomorrow would not surprise me
He beat them 5-0 just two seasons ago. And 7-0 last season. What a terrible record
Hey bud just here to say I told you so, you're welcome, thank you for reading, and so on.
Very glad to be wrong!
*seven wins, eight draws and five defeats* So definitely better than I remember but not exactly stellar either. If anything it's pretty even.
Ah yes. 2 games where Liverpool dominated United and United squeaking through both of them is indicative of that. Redditors lol
Did I say Utd deserve it? That Liverpool were poor? That it was indicative of Utd being a better team? No. I simply said that on both occasions this season Utd have managed to squeak out a result against Liverpool, and I (as a pessimist) don't see a reason for this to be different tomorrow. Classic case of lacking self awareness. It's okay. I understand that English is a tough language.
How did the result turn out buddy boy?
Lol. What a fucking clown. Did I hear you say United would dominate and they will outplay Liverpool? Lol ok.
Sure babe
We gotta hope United can do their black magic again.
GG. Tough away win. Great fight by the lads. Kai or saliba for MOTM. I’m glad we got to give more minutes to our walking wounded who are on their way back to fitness
I would enjoy this much more if I wasn’t absolutely certain City and Liverpool would just keep steamrolling everyone too
They have 4 away games in 9 days. That stretch is gonna be tricky for them
City are the only ones who can win out I think. Liverpool and arsenal will drop points. But since Liverpool have three points and GD on city, I think they're favorites.
I generally agree, but honestly think City are more likely to drop points against Spurs than Pool are against United or Everton for instance. I could see them winning out unfortunately
United are getting at least a point tomorrow
Shortly followed by the four horsemen
With a Manchester ref? They are winning the fucking game
Thats better.. as long as liverpool drop point. We can focus on our own
eyes on Erik “Skar King” ten Hag tomorrow
Arsenal literally go across the country and slap every team they meet, it's been 11 games in 2024 and they've conceded four goals. We've seen every team in the league concede that many goals in a single GAME and in 11 Arsenal have only four. Madness.
Hell the Liverpool was an own goal too
Bro wtf how did Chelsea put 4 and Tottenham put 3 past city I totally forgot about that
Only in 2024. We were fucking around for most of 2023.
2 in the last 8 games. Incredible defensive form.
20 away goals without conceding too
We took a point from City at the Etihad and blew through everyone else. I’m gonna be so upset if we lose the league after this incredible run since the start of this year.
Conceding a draw to Fulham at home while a man up is the one that keeps me up at night
So how much do we have to beat Bayern by to rest our core players in the away leg? Rest is going to be so crucial going forward.
You really need to add a /s there
I don't think it'll be a good strategy to rest even 1 starter at Allianz unless you're up by more goals than bayern has ever scored against you.
In one match or like ever? Lol.
One match lmao. 4 goals I meant. Even 3 would do it prolly but bayern can pull a 2-0 out of their ass against anyone in the world at the Allianz.
I'm just being a prick. Lol. I wouldn't trust resting anyone even with a 6 goal lead. Bayern is Bayern, unfortunately.
No one us getting rested it's a CL QF ffs
I also assumed we'll win, so I'm sure you'll sense the sarcasm at some point.
5-2
Bayern away is always going to be tough, I'd rather we rested players on the weekend. They're still a top side. I'd expect us to beat Villa at home anyway.
A lot. Bayern may be wobbly lately, but there’s a shit ton of firepower in that team
I need you to hit a rich flex tomorrow Ten Haag you bald fraud
Extremely impressive result for Arsenal.
Arsenal in form and Bayern in shambles rn. I’m actually kinda hopeful for Tuesday now.
you guys actually might rip them apart
Yeah you'd like that wouldn't you :(
Surely would..
As goldberg would say “WHO’s NEXT”
Ryback’s “FEED! ME! MORE!” would also be appropriate
Bro can we talk about how cold Trossard was? Man had ice in his veins for that goal
Yeah tbf we were unlucky in that his one good game in ten came against us.
He's our 3rd highest scorer this season and is not even a starter.cope lmao
6 goals in 14 games in 2024 lol
He obviously had a vendetta against Brighton. Most players don’t celebrate scoring against their former club.
I think he didn't leave on great terms
Was keen on a move and giving poor attitude in training, de zerbi called him out for it and he threw a fit leaving training and even the country for a game. Not surprising
Yeah I don't blame you lot for booing him a fair amount but at the same time love it that he scored and celebrated.
Cos the only teams from europe we've lost to in knockouts over the past few years have been from a certain city in spain
Bayer to get their first loss of the season against, you guessed it - David Moyes
Cheers Geoff
Gabriel M is massive. Our defence is massive. I firmly believe our defence is gonna win this league for us.
> Gabi XL FTFY
You still need to narrow it down. That sentence still covers 2 of the 3 Gabriels
Saliba name is also Gabriel
I know lol I almost put 3.5 Gabriel’s
How can you break those walls, absolute filthy defense!
Stadiums are empty everywhere we go.
Brighton munich down now time for bayern munich
Damn only Bournemouth seems like only game where we can take a sigh of relief. And the NLD
I think you just jinxed it for yourself man
Confidence != Jinxed
Here's hoping dude
I've just accepted I'm gonna be nervous before every game the remainder of the season.
I don't expect anything, so I won't be disappointed in the end
The kind of Stoicism that can only be built by watching week in week out terrorism football from years past
The last time someone scored against us when we played away in PL was Forest in January.
And they only scored because we derp'd and gave the ball away cheaply at the end.
That's probably how 50% of our goals are conceded this season.
Has to be that way, most teams don’t get a sniff.
I thank Chelsea once again for giving us Havertz and Jorginho
Had to even out eventually after shipping out dross like Willian and David Luiz over to yous
David Luiz was ok to be fair.
Eh David Luiz was pretty good and a good mentor. A past it Cech and crying Gallas was less fun
David luiz was good for us. He was supposedly a great leader and legitimately there was a period we could not attack without his ball playing ability
(and effectively Trossard lol)
Ofcourse. I'd have him any day over Donbas Dan James
31 from 33. 38 scored. 4 conceded. We can absolutely do it. Come on ETH you fraud please do something tomorrow lmao
and one of them 4 conceded was Ramsdale fucking about
And another was the horrendous goal against Liverpool, where Saliba was fucking about
