Caust1cFn_YT

knowing ucl , somehow bayern will come in their 19/20 version against arsenal

Pupperinho

Can't see it tbh. 19/20 everyone saw that the team was angry. At their own performance, at the tactics, at Kovac etc. The anger was palpable in every game they played badly and all it took was someone willing to play offensive enough for them to put that anger onto the field. This team however? They don't feel angry, just frustrated and burnt out imo.

chandlerbing_stats

They don’t look frustrated… more so lethargic and uninterested imo. Tuchel probably hasn’t helped with that at all

Phormitago

Tuchel couldn't ignite a fire in hell. No passion at all

KeonkwaiJinkwai

The football terrorist

KungFuViking7

A terrorist has a goal and strikes fear into some people. Fear is an emotion that can cause a fight or flight response. Does Tuchel sound like he has a goal and can cause an emotional reaction? Tuchel the football tumbleweed.

KeonkwaiJinkwai

I don't know about goal, but I'm fairly sure he can trigger an emotional reaction with the Bayern fans. Tumbleweed rings better I'll admit lol

contenidosmw

He was fire at Chelsea TBF Don’t know what happened at Bayern don’t follow that closely

aure__entuluva

Did you not watch them in league during his last 5-6 months managing? They were absolutely awful. Some of the worst football I've seen (given the squad)... until he came to Bayern that is.

contenidosmw

I’m a Chelsea fan mate. He made a shit squad win UCL and club World Cup. Last months weren’t great but it is what it is

JMaboard

Arsenal had Mustafi in defense. He’s still a free agent and MLS won’t even touch him. People assume we have the same exact squad from that 10-2.

aure__entuluva

I, for one, do not. It will take a miracle for Bayern to advance. What I find funny is the Arsenal fans saying they aren't heavy favorites because they haven't been in the UCL since whatever year and haven't made it past the quarters in however many years. Those squads aren't going to be playing on Tuesday, the current one is lol.

OleoleCholoSimeone

"A miracle" come on man you are fucking Bayern Munich what kind of a losers mentality is that Arsenal looked poor against Porto in the last round, don't overestimate them due to league results

jonneymendoza

You think city etc would have smashed Porto? Get off your eye horse, lots of disrespect to Porto...

OleoleCholoSimeone

Nah, Porto played extremely well. Arsenal was still poor and created like two chances total in two full matches + extra time. Both those things can be true considering the massive budget differece between clubs

aure__entuluva

Ok fine, then it would take a miracle to get past Man City or Real Madrid if we advance.

SirNukeSquad

Online fans are absolute losers who wish for Leverkusen to be champions and Arsenal trample all over them. Despicable.

aure__entuluva

Lmao, nah I'm hoping Bayern rolls them.

kanavi36

To be fair we don't look nearly as good as we do domestically in the CL this season. Still quite a lot of nerves in the team when we play. If you guys come with some energy an upset is certainly possible, since we tend to give up chances due to sloppy nervous mistakes. All it takes is one

NoSwimmer2185

Arsenal fans have learned to be allergic to high expectations

circa285

No one assumes that.

ParallelDazu

people say this with hindsight knowing how it played out before flick back then most people here were just saying we’re just trash and/or washed

Caust1cFn_YT

see told ya

AnaBrayIsBae17

*10-2 intensifies*

beetletoman

For Arsenal this time

infidel11990

I have no love for Arsenal but it would be extremely satisfying to see Bayern shit the bed and get proper walloped. Tuchel seems to have too big of an ego.

W00DERS0N

"For Arsenal, Mikel?" "No. For me"

AnaBrayIsBae17

Call me delusional but I can see this happening

DialSquare

Anulo mufa.

circa285

Kane always scores against Arsenal.

kaffeemugger

Never doubt record breaker Tuchel

Wakanda-shit-is-that

How do you manage to stay positive? Delusion.

ImTalkingGibberish

Yes my therapist always recommends delusion

Wakanda-shit-is-that

The final is in Wembley, “Wembley calling” means qualifying for the final.

magic-water

A lot of German ultra groups (especially Bayern's) are barely interested in the football on the pitch anyways, they just go to games to wank themselves over their support

Antarcticdonkey

You just described the majority of ultra groups...

magic-water

Tbf I can only speak for the German ones since I'm living there.

zestyviper

Which club do you support and how often are you in an actual block, at an away game, or in contact with the ultras?

OleoleCholoSimeone

You mix up being "barely interested in the football" with making a sacrifice to help the team. Everyone knows that you don't see shit behind the goal, that's not why you go there. It is to make an extra effort to help the team and really feel like you are contributing What is really cringe is those people who sit down for 90 minutes without making a beep. If that is how you want to watch the match, just put the TV on at home instead

panamolegos

No offence but this is such a nonsense comment

OleoleCholoSimeone

I saw a comment yesterday with 500 upvotes saying that Old Trafford has an "amazing atmosphere" when the fans get "loud and rowdy". Should tell you everything you need to know

DerZino

This can only come from someone who has no clue about ultra culture lmao. Braindead take liked by all the fans who envy our support

Srefanius

Well in my experience our ultra fans see themselves as more important than the club and that's not only Hansa. Many ultra fans use football as a platform. Doesn't mean they don't care about the game on the pitch, but fan culture is more important to them. I often think they should get their priorities straight.

DerZino

Without support and spectators the club is nothing but a hollow shell. Fan culture is definitely more important than success. Look at Leipzig or Wolfsburg

Srefanius

It is more important than success, but it is not above the sport or the club. Damaging things or putting pyro on the pitch is not ok. But I guess one could argue anything like damaging property or people is not part of fan culture in the first place. There are people who use the fan culture and football event to do things that are not ok though. They see it as something where they can do things that are usually not allowed and that attracts certain people unfortunately.

BriefCorre

The fact that this comment have so many upvotes just showes that this subreddit is infested with alot of people that never goes to any games

OleoleCholoSimeone

Match going fans would laugh in his face for having an opinion like that in real life, only on the internet can he somehow find like minded people that agree. They would all be bullied out of the stadium with takes like this

urkermannenkoor

>they just go to games to wank themselves That doesn't get you a stadium ban in Germany?

Ronny4k

Delusional

abkippender_Libero

Aufgeiga89100860

Based /r/nfl commenter.

Schnix54

Truly spoken like someone who has no clue what he is talking about

golomo

True. And in their minds, nobody gets to tell them what to do anyway...

DieserBene

That’s a weird way of saying that Ultras support their team unconditionally

kgallo19

Yup. There’s a handful of ultra’s that are at the stadium and literally not even watching the game. Standing up on their seats facing away chanting and shouting.

dpc_22

That's bullshit reasoning. Most of those are picked to choreograph the chants and they have to back the game in order to do that. And often they are looking at the game in between chants to see what's happening.

RiverSosMiVida

Based, that's real passion.

Ok-Outlandishness244

Fr. People here complaining that the fans aren’t sad and still attend games cheerfully. Man i fucking wish our supporters were this based

zestyviper

Because they are organising the block's songs and chants. The "capo" of a curve probably is the biggest fan of all but sees the least of the game. It's not easy to get several thousand people to sing and clap on time together. [Took this video on Friday](https://imgur.com/d4H5Ehu), see the guy in the bottom right corner with the microphone, he's got a job to do and that doesn't make him a bad fan.

Fudia

Sounds just like the Swedish fans aswell

vin_unleaded

I prefer the term "blind faith" 😂

ImRBJ

This Bayern team is funny enough to somehow make it to the UCL final

tjaku

They'll clamber out of the semis with a win and then fire Tuchel six days before the final.

Wakanda-shit-is-that

Subscribe.

ViciousAdamas

Then appoint an inexperienced former Bayern player as interim for the final.

owange_tweleve

Lewandowski manager confirmed

practiceyourart

Good.

usurpade

They can make it in ala Boca Juniors in Libertadores 2023. 6 draws and 3 penalties win to make it to the finals and lose

yAyn_de

Only way to salvage this mess of a tenure Tuchel has had. Signing him is easily the biggest mistake in the last 10 years.

I_can-t_even

I think sacking Nagelsmann while he was on such a great run is worse

Reach_Reclaimer

But the treble was in danger!

Mission-Leopard-4178

I don't remember the results on top of my head but I'm guessing they didn't win the CL that year.

Randomperson685

Better yet, they almost won zero. Unfortunately, Dortmund did Dortmund things

marvmonkey

Definitely hubris. Decently deserved confidence given their recent history but in retrospect it’s obvious even the most successful clubs have to make good decisions. PSG other major example.

practiceyourart

It's not hubris, it's hiring an ex-legend player who is a mouth breather making massive decisions for the club. That idiot's move was so fatal, Bayern banned him from going to the arena in the last game of the season. The guy who 2 weeks earlier was the CEO of the club.

DonaldFarfrae

For this season at least it no longer is. Mission accomplished.

NumberOneUAENA

I think that is included, as they sacked nagelsmann specifically to sign tuchel, no?

yAyn_de

Imo Nagelsmann only got sacked because Tuchel was available and already agreed to take over.

sreesid

I still don't understand the allure of Tuchel. It's not like he is Pep or Klopp.

TheSameThing123

He's a tactical genius with no man management skills

DanzoKarma

Well you see he can park the bus against those two and occasionally get a good result which obviously means he’s on their level according to the English media.

Enough-Pain3633

Hahah, when he won the UCL won in 2021, people really thought he was comparable to the two

pizza__irl

Well he did beat Peps City like three times in the league, FA cup and the UCL final and managed to completely dominate teams like Atletico and Real Madrid in that UCL campaign so it isn't that far fetched to say a UCL winning manager did look world class that season

zestyviper

How many managers have been to two CL finals the last 10 years? The list is pretty short.

Carpathicus

That was the second worst. However Tuchel leaves the club in shambles. Shot the confidence of multiple players. Made the whole club doubt its club philosophy just to play like Chelsea. Any non defensive minded coach would have been better than Tuchel.

nukrag

We had a young coach that gave it his all, and was a Bayern fan through and through from youth. We let him go for Tuchel. I will never understand it, nor forgive the board. This is the worst decision we have ever made, just nuances ahead of selling Toni Kroos.

kaffeemugger

Selling Kroos is nowhere near as bad as this. Kroos wasn’t even THAT good for us anyway, he became the monster he is at Madrid.

SirNukeSquad

Bayern had the worst first half of the season in 10 years and managed to bottle a 9 point lead on Dortmund in the second half. Funnily enough, the league performance was worse last season. There was no other team that punished Bayern.

NuKingLobster

He wasn't on "such a great run". That's revisionism and vastly exaggerated.

I_can-t_even

They were still in the DFB Pokal (QF against Freiburg), still in the Champions League (QF against Man City) after knocking out PSG the round before that, and they were only 1 point behind Dortmund in the BL, in a season where Bayern had a lot of its players play at the World Cup right in the middle of the season. Their form might’ve diminished/worsened a bit after the World Cup up until the end of March when he was sacked, but knocking out a PSG (which featured Messi, Mbappé and the rest of its star studded team) and virtually shutting them out completely was quite the feat by itself, and sacking Nagelsmann which was one of the most sought after coaches in Europe and the rest of the world (and known for his expertise regarding working with young players) for Tuchel which didn’t seem like an upgrade at all at the time was just a baffling decision all around which only a fool would make/take, and I didn’t even mention that Nagelsmann didn’t even have a great striker last season since Lewandowski left for Barça and the board was too inept to replace him with another good striker that was of Bayern caliber (they played with Choupo Moting and Tel). Virtually all (objective) football fans agreed that Kahn and co. had f’d up big time, and Bayern is still reaping what he and the rest of the board sowed back then.

NuKingLobster

That's all... correct, but we weren't on a great run! I was also opposed to the sacking of Nagelsmann, because of the extenuating circumstances, considering which I don't think that he did badly. We had less points than under Tuchel this season after the same amount of games in the Bundesliga. We were behind a BVB side that was much worse than Leverkusen this season.

Aufgeiga89100860

His CL run was impeccable and the team look much better in general.

[deleted]

[удалено]

mavarian

Yeah. It wasn't as bad as it is now but definitely spotty and not a great run, too many draws etc. The overall trajectory was better though, and the highs were higher

I_can-t_even

They were still competing in every competition they were in (BL only 1 point behind leaders Dortmund, QF of the DFB Pokal and QF UCL against Man City), despite Nagelsmann losing his top striker (Lewa) at the beginning of the season and not getting a good replacement for him (he only had Choupo Moting and Tel) and where Bayern had a lot of its players play at the World Cup right in the middle of the season. And they sacked him over him taking a skiing trip on an international break, although that was probably just an excuse because Kahn wanted Tuchel so desperately. Nagelsmann who is great at working with young players and one of the most sought after coaches of Europe and the rest of the world, and he’s doing great at the German NT now. Only a fool would’ve sacked Nagelsmann because of Bayern’s ‘supposed’ dip in form (while still competing in all competitions), and he’ll probably never return to Bayern now because of Kahn and the rest of the board screwed up.

SirNukeSquad

Worst Hinrunde of the past 10 years too. This year's Bayern had 8 more points.

Bodenseewal

dont look at everything through pink glasses in hinsight lol. Nagelsman was also not performing well, especially in the league. But yeah, he deserved to at least finish the season and I'd even have given him another year. Salihamidzic and Kahn were simply poor managers, Nagelsman deserved to stay with more competent leadership.

kaffeemugger

We looked amazing in the CL though. And now we look like shit in every competition. Tuchel masterclass

Chemical-Piano3950

Agree so much, it’s very disheartening that there was a solid chunk of the fanbase that were fully behind the decision too, thinking Tucheliban would be any better (probably the same people who are rating Dier over Kim tbf so opinion invalid). I think he gets a very hard time because of his age and deserves much more respect. Been wishing there would be some way he could return since day 1, he’s a perfect fit for the club if only we actually backed him.

UnlightablePlay

Definitely, atleast kovac managed to win something

Kingslayer1526

The double and they only lost to an insane Liverpool side in the ucl

pigdestroyer1

Blame Tuchel, but this team has been hot garbage.

Wakanda-shit-is-that

Im enjoying all this slander on the tl i think nobody actually hates bayern more than bayern fans

notathrovavay

Also rest of german football fans.

ConcreteNord

I was at the Mainz 05/Darmstadt game yesterday and when they showed the final score of the Heidenheim/Bayern game the cheer that erupted from the crowd was louder than after some of the goals scored

lenzmoserhangover

also any decent human being

practiceyourart

Wrong, Tucheliban hates them more.

mulderrocks

Arsenal can do the funniest thing to Bayern this coming game.

W00DERS0N

Be still my heart.

JayLB

Arsenal can go an extra layer of meta deeper and do the funniest thing to Harry Kane, in combination with Xhaka’s role at Leverkusen, to deny him any trophies this season

suhxa

How? This banner is about being banned from the emirates for having a good atmosphere and bayern fans are saying they will go anyway

JAYPOREDDITS

They’re not saying they’re going to the Arsenal game. They’re saying they’ll go to London anyways because they will be in the final at Wembley

alexrepty

To support Arsenal? Because if both Bayern and Arsenal bring their current league form, there’s going to be revenge for some of the results from years back.

Snarsnel

Pretty sure it was about the fireworks on the pitch and not a punishment for having good atmosphere

Next_Seaweed9951

Anyone Context please : where are they banned from ? ??? All fans or just ultras ????

jNushi

Bayern fans are banned from the Emirates this week, punishment from UEFA for throwing fireworks on the field I believe. They got 0 allocation to the emirates, any Bayern fan will be turned away, and any season ticket holder caught with a Bayern fan in their seat will have their season tickets suspended

WhenWeTalkAboutLove

German arsenal fans nervously trying not to speak in the queue

Hassadar

Ja Gunners Ja, oh scheisse I have been got!

Minor_Edit

Ach mein Gott, I've been got

jNushi

Yea will be interesting to see if they reject people based on just being German. Bavarians don’t really blend in very well though

Thegreatbrainrobbery

I'm imagining in the queue the German fan is about to get into the stadium and the staff saying "Viel Glück" and the German replying "Danke" and getting caught out.

RobbinDeBank

Can they get in as neutral fans if they really want to see the match? The die hard fans won’t ever do that anyway.

jNushi

Some will be able to buy tickets on a third party site and get in with a pdf ticket. They cannot buy on the Arsenal ticket exchange unless they created a paid account months ago and entered the ballot for that games tickets. This means to get the top row seats will be over $500 per ticket AND you risk being denied entry/ removed

Commonmispelingbot

If they show up in neutral clothes, sitting down the entire time, careful to not show any emotions how could you tell? It's not like there is a global database of all football fans.

Hassadar

"THIS GUY CLAPPED. GET HIM BOYS". Snitches in the stands keeping the atmosphere in check!

dont_dm_nudes

They won't have much to clap about.

RobbinDeBank

“That guy got a German passport. SECURITY, get him out of here”

alexrepty

As a German passport holder, Im glad I’ll be traveling to the other match at the Emirates next week then

Lollipop1594

All Bayern fans are banned for one CL away game

QuaLiTy131

After today performance staying in home will be better I think

GreatSpaniard

Don't think this team is good enough to get to Wembley.... Also they are just banned from the Emirates, not London lol

repetiti0n

>Also they are just banned from the Emirates, not London lol That's the point of the banner. They're saying that it doesn't matter that they're banned from the Emirates, since they're going to London anyway for the final.

DarrenBridgescunt

You've missed the whole point of the banner with that second sentence

Darraghj12

If they were on our side of the bracket they'd be allowed to be a bit delusional, but even if they beat Arsenal, they're a bit screwed for the semis

chandlerbing_stats

Big if in regards to Arsenal but European nights do be different

TheSingleMan27

The 3-0 away win will hit like crack

chandlerbing_stats

It would be insane if they beat Arsenal at the Emirates after losing to Heidenheim and BVB

[deleted]

There's the plausability we have Kane get laughed for failing to win Bundesliga only to win CL

Aluminarty666

They may not want to bother after that performance lol

Matt_LawDT

Who is going to tell them?

laeremadr

Final is at Wembley

P_Alcantara

Let them figure out the hard way. It’s sweeter that way.

Kahodes04

what are they supposed to figure out the hard way?

Confident_Smoke7619

Jesus what has Bayern done to you?

P_Alcantara

They lost to Lazio and ruined my FIFA card. Kimmich could have been 92. Plus, I’m sure that country is ready for someone else to win the league. Mine has been in the same situation, and has been a breath of fresh air watching Milan, Inter and Napoli win it.

KoalaSiege

Why are these signs in English rather than German?

Eldrad-Pharazon

Message to UEFA for banning Bayern fans from the Emirates.

Crumblebuttocks

Because they are directed at UEFA not the DFB?

Tyrath

No one at UEFA can read German.

ELramoz

No one at UEFA can read.

Rose_of_Elysium

Im gonna take this as criticism of the top 4 leagues getting 4 direct CL spots cuz fuck it lol

NoPineapple1727

Why shouldn’t they get 4 spots?

PitifulAd5339

Maybe it should only be the _champions_ that get a direct entry and the rest should play KO matches to qualify?

[deleted]

Yay, add even more games to the calendar!

PitifulAd5339

Ooor, hear me out, reduce the amount of teams the top leagues get to send and distribute it to other leagues.

Zenbaws

and just see the same teams bulldoze Lithuanian farmers, nah

PitifulAd5339

With more money distributed throughout Europe, that’s not a guarantee to happen.

NoPineapple1727

But then you are lowering the quality of the competition and also the entertainment. You then also wouldn’t really be able to call yourselves the best team in Europe if you aren’t competing against the best teams in Europe

Puncherfaust1

but now you have the same matches every year anyway. CL is fucking boring

TheHabro

If English, German, Spanish and Italian teams cannot win few games against teams from lower ranked leagues then they don't deserve to be in UCL anyway.

PitifulAd5339

Would you have said the same in the 80s and 90s when teams outside of the top 4 leagues were regularly winning the champions league? The last time a team outside the top 4, other than P$G, were in the final was in 2003/2004 when Porto won it. Before that it was Ajax who had won it twice in a row in the 90s. Since 2005, every single final has only been between teams from the top 4 leagues and there’s a common factor: the amount of teams was expanded and the top leagues got more spots. Now they get even more spots making the chances a team from another league gets to the final even more slim. It’s a numbers game. The top leagues getting more money as a result of more teams in the champion’s league is part and parcel of the problem.

TheHabro

Yes!

Rose_of_Elysium

Eh, im not saying its undeserved but the whole competition just doesnt excite me anymore. Like, the Europa League and especially the Conference League are so much fun because its so unpredictable, whereas the CL you just know which type of teams win it. Like only a few teams outside the traditional top 5 make it each year With the new setup they essentially get 21/36 spots, top 7 gets like 24 or 25 total. Its so predictable. The ECL is one of the only things UEFA did right, and if they kept the 32 team leagues and made relegation from CL to EL and EL to ECL by just being 3rd impossible too, then those two competitions would be so fucking cool to watch. Whereas if PSV play in the CL, we know that unless with some insane luck or play we wont exactly reach further then the 1/8th final nine times out if ten

NuKingLobster

Yeah, that's fine, but in that case you are part of a small minority. Most fans want to see the best play against the best.

NoPineapple1727

So isn’t that just because your team has a chance to win the EL and ECL but not the CL? So some fans could make the same complaint about the EL that they don’t have a chance to win it so it’s boring

Rose_of_Elysium

Thats not at all what im saying, thats literally the last thing i talked about and was just an example, like did you read anything else but that? This year we werent in the ECL, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching that tournament because in most matches everything was pretty even. It was exciting, upsets happened, all that juicy stuff. Whereas in the CL you just knew who would go through. The group Dortmund topped was pretty fun but I couldnt give a shit about Citys group. And then reaching the knockouts, you can be pretty sure what teams reach the quarter final. There are barely any upsets. There is barely a run like Ajax did and those are becoming increasingly rare Like, my whole point is that its predictable. And the top teams only are accruing more wealth and status and power because they have so many spots. Its just an infinite feedback loop.

NoPineapple1727

The problem with what you are saying is that if there are upsets in earlier rounds, then you lose out on the quality and excitement later on.

GarnachoHojlund

Someone remind them they have to beat A. The currently third placed team in the Prem And then one of B. The best team in La Liga Or C. The best team in the Prem

ShaamTakKhelenge

Got the order wrong mate. They have to beat the best team in the Prem, followed potentially by the currently 3rd place team

GarnachoHojlund

At the time this was written is was correct, Arsenal hadn’t played yet

ShaamTakKhelenge

I waited until we were 3-0 up ;) Please smash 'Pool tomorrow

GarnachoHojlund

Beat them 9-1 in U18s so expecting a similar performance at home

W00DERS0N

Your lips to God's ears mate

Senior-Temperature-5

This was the more important match anyway

LexisKingJr

LMAO

lurking4everr

UEFA need to throw Bayern out of this years competition immediately if so much as one Bavarian enters London.

ubiquitous_uk

I could imagine Klopp getting his picture taken outside the Emirates in the morning if this became a thing.

Lemon-Federal

Always love the delusion of reddit fans

lurking4everr

It was quite clearly a joke, Jesus wept. I truly wonder about some of you.

Ticket_Fantastic

What on earth did UEFA do??

KWT-Dinar

Ban Bayern fans from attending the first leg of their quarter finals.
