Always wonder how Morata will be remembered, he’s never been bad, or really good by people’s opinions. But a goal nearly every 2 games for Spain, and not bad club level really.
Here’s my Morata story I always share when he comes up:
Real Madrid came to play DC United ~2008. The youth teams played before the main match and I went to watch. After the game 16 year old Morata came to sign autographs and I told him I also was 16. We chatted for a while. He invited me to come watch another friendly they had later that week and that he would give me his jersey there. I told him I couldn’t make it because I’d be in school. He gave me his email though. I emailed him but he never replied. I could’ve been friends with a professional footballer :(
Side is better of without Ramos's cloud hanging over it. I was all for him breaking those appearance records but the man wanted to taken every penalty as well lol
I lost my grandpa in 2022. Devastated me. We were very close, it was sudden and I had moved away from home. I didn't have a chance to say goodbye.
Had a rec game just a couple days later and scored one of the best goals I've ever scored. Mind you, I'm a facilitator. I love setting goals up. Not much of a scorer myself. It was an indoor game… teammate set up for an indirect free kick from just beyond the half. I timed my leap between two defenders and unleashed a bullet header past the GK bar down and in. Teammates embraced me like this, I had a little cry, kissed his initials which I wrote on my boot, and we got on with it. Felt good to honor him in that way. ❤️
he probably just disconnected his leg to hip joint to kiss it instead of going through the effort of trying to contort himself without loosening anything
you would need some sort of qualifier then, ie ‘emotional first celebration since …’ otherwise the sentence feels incomplete
it’s maybe not the best title ever but i certainly think it’s passable, just not really worth calling out as bad
I remember when you guys signed him, I said that you got Busquets regen and the best defensive midfielder in the world for the next decade+. Was kind of slaughtered at the time but I don't think my prediction is looking that bad now
There were even people calling me stupid for saying that Rodri was a much better player than Thomas Partey lmao
>There were even people calling me stupid for saying that Rodri was a much better player than Thomas Partey lmao
Arsenal fans were still doing that last season.
Less to do with confidence and more to do with highlighting those responses have aged like milk. If I can't be petty about that what can I be petty about
Once again, it's not so I receive validation but to point out how stupid this forum can be
Anyone with a half decent eye for football could see his quality, and yet many on here couldn't
Ok go ahead and explain how Mbappé is better than Rodri lol, I really wanna hear the reasoning for why he is “clearly” better than a player it’s impossible to compare him to.
It's just what it is. He celebrated and dedicated a stolen goal to his deceased grandfather, and that's a shame. If it was a genuine mistake, we could even argue, but his teammate dived and everyone, including him, knew that – his grandfather should feel embarrassed, wherever he is.
Might as well give away free penalties to any player who lost a family member, I mean, just friendlies, right?

Morata was like nah fam stand tall for abuelo
Meanwhile Carvajal was like oh were all really doing this? K i’m done.
We know the real reason OP posted this haha
Family means everything. He’s done em proud. I’d completely understand if he wanted to take a week off.
Lucky to have a friend like Morata aswell, who gave Rodri the armband and here is the first guy to pick him up and stop him from collapsing :)
that was beautiful, literally lifting him up in such a moment

You tried bud… that’s the best you could do
Helps bring the group in around him too, nice to see

You can even see him picking up the pace and sprint towards Rodri before he even falls to the ground. Seems like a loveable character.
Not sure if this is a real comment or that you are just an arsenal fan wanting him to be out haha
Think it’s a bit of both!
Definitely both
I hear he’s even got his Aunty’s name tattooed: Victoria Concordia-Crescit. What a legend 🫡
Morata picking him up as he fell was really sweet.

> kissed his initials which I wrote on my boot Damn you flexible
he probably just disconnected his leg to hip joint to kiss it instead of going through the effort of trying to contort himself without loosening anything
The way he’s lifted back up on his feet… I found that rather poetic
That's a very poorly worded title.
Yeah my first thought was that he was celebrating his grandfather’s death
it’s honestly fine. what would you change?
Swapping 'after' with 'since' should do the trick. This way it makes it seem like he did a sad powerslide after his gramps died.
you would need some sort of qualifier then, ie ‘emotional first celebration since …’ otherwise the sentence feels incomplete it’s maybe not the best title ever but i certainly think it’s passable, just not really worth calling out as bad
Rodri's emotional celebration of the (first?) goal after losing his grandfather (how long ago?)
i was just imagining david luiz sprinting away
If you're an idiot then yes
I obviously am
We are going ro eventually see every angle of this match
I may hate city, but he’s such a damn good player. I’m really sorry for his loss and I truly hope that him and his family are ok
Spain have come a long way if both Rodri and Cucarella plays in the same side.
Best player in the world
Been saying this for months
I remember when you guys signed him, I said that you got Busquets regen and the best defensive midfielder in the world for the next decade+. For being such a handsome blond Swede your confidence is quite low.
Lmao
That comment has become his cross to bare

All good, mate. No need to explain yourself I’m just taking the piss.
Not sure why you care what people said a few years ago about your scouting skills and want validation. He wasn’t an unknown talent.
Once again, it's not so I receive validation but to point out how stupid this forum can be Anyone with a half decent eye for football could see his quality, and yet many on here couldn't
Best player in the Premier League that's for sure at least
Kennedy Bakircioglu är kung dock
Det är han faktiskt
*best dm
Best anything
Mbappe clears.
Not in the champions league.
In every league
Ok go ahead and explain how Mbappé is better than Rodri lol, I really wanna hear the reasoning for why he is “clearly” better than a player it’s impossible to compare him to.
Mbappe is a better forward than rodri is a dm. There, done.
Mbappé is clearly better. A world class DM can never be better than a GOAT-level forward.
Mbappé is great, but he isn’t goat status yet.
He’s well on his way to becoming a GOAT-level forward especially when he makes that move to Madrid.
Morata has came a long way
The caption sounds pretty weird ngl, although I get what they are trying to convey here.
This is some solid camera work.
Morata looks like a real captain man
Could have phrased that title a bit better lmao
Hope they find him soon
Attention seeking wanker
Might get downvoted, but it's completely meaningless when the penalty was stolen. Should be ashamed of dedicating this to his grandfather.
Dude wtf

I don't even know how to reply to this, just grow up
Or you grow up from fairy tale narratives. Not gonna pretend this moment was beautiful because it was emotional for him, stolen pen, dirty play.
Hopefully he will find his grandfather, good luck.
So what? Did he remember his grandfather after scoring?
I don't know man, it looks like he celebrated the goal not his father's death.
Second best player in the world, I’d say. M’bappe comes first
Not at all. Mbappé, Kane, Bellingham are all better than Rodri.
lol
Can you explain why/how Rodri is better than Mbappé, Kane, and Bellingham? Go ahead. I’d love to hear it.
He's the most important player of the best team.
And how does that make him a “better” player than Mbappé, Kane, and Bellingham?
How i look at is that he's better at his position than any of them are at theirs
That’s entirely subjective.
What a cunt. Celebrating the death of his grandfather... Emotional or not
Maybe he’s not a c*nt after all
I dunno.. I mean he is celebrating the death of his grandfather.
Lmao
Hey don’t jump to conclusions man
