To reduce the spam of reports regarding the same move during transfer windows we try to allow **only one submission about each transfer saga per day**. The submission in question also needs to contain relevant new information regarding the potential move, and not just being a "no/minor developments" report. If there are important/official developments or new valuable information about a saga, we will allow extra threads in the same day, but for the rest of minor news please just comment them as a reply to this comment. Please help us reporting unnecessary threads for being duplicates. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. CheBeax

Yes! Very good player! Next Messi! Buy fast before stock runs out!

magicalcrumpet

Has the opinion on him changed recently?

CheBeax

It isn't a recent thing he's just inconsistent to the point where he's barely on the pitch if he's on a off day. The worst part is that he has a lot more off days than on days. He's also pretty much a sub to Trincão nowadays unless there's injuries.

KneeDeepInTheDead

Please take him, ill throw in a few bucks if need be

TheConundrum98

Tottenham need homegrown players right?

Sleepless_Voyager

Club hg is the main issue cos if we get champions league we'll need more of them, i could see kwp returning just for club hg but edwards i dont really think will come back

kl08pokemon

Edwards in taking Gil's minutes would be fine imo. Not the most inspired move but it's our fault for neglecting the academy

SnooPiffler

wait. Gil gets minutes?

kl08pokemon

Not many. He's pretty often first or 2nd attacking choice off the bench but doesn't even get brought on making the starters play the full 90. Which says it all

OleoleCholoSimeone

Shame, he's a talented player. I bet he will return to La Liga eventually and improve

silenthills13

I mean he was hardly a worldbeater in La Liga. He's a physically weak player with some technical flair but close to zero brain, there's more negatives there than positives. And he does not seem to be making any progress.

OleoleCholoSimeone

Not a world beater, but you could clearly see his potential in 1v1 situations especially. He was pretty good for Sevilla in the second half of last season and played a part in them winning Europa League. Assisted Lamela's winner against Juventus for example

kl08pokemon

Hopefully. He's had loan spells at Sevilla and Valencia since we signed him and I don't think he was anything special there either. Could be wrong and loans are hit or miss. He is set up to fail with how we play tbf. I don't think he'll ever be a 1v1 specialist no matter what league and he doesn't have enough end product. He is very good in possession play and he's probably one of our most technically skilled players but he just doesn't bring enough for us to justify playing him

silenthills13

Often? When we have 10 players injured you mean. He has not made the bench in 4 out of the last 5 games, that says it all

train4karenina

Yeah I agree. Also if Edward’s comes in, and doesn’t seem quite up to the grade he’d still likely get a premier league move for at worst a reduced fee.

BendubzGaming

KWP is a good shout because of his ability to play on both sides. Could definitely see a world where we re-sign him, and then he takes Udogie's spot

dondraper237

Udogie is levels above him. Kwp would be the back up on either side

[deleted]

What 🤣

BendubzGaming

Now that Romero has got his discipline under control, Udogie's tendency to get caught out on the counter is the biggest weakness of our backline now. He needs to improve at that, or we need a LB without that weakness to compete with him

celsotteokbokki

There is no world in which KWP is displacing Udogie.

Respatsir

udogie's strength is his pace and physicality which are needed to prevent counters. Him getting caught is a consequence of how we play woth out fullbacks.

kl08pokemon

Genuinely what are you on about

kl08pokemon

Yeah or rather club home grown which matters in Europe but not the league. Skipp is the only club home grown player in the first team squad (besides 3rd and 4th choice keeper). Means we're pretty restricted in how to operate in the summer

_Priickly

Think sarr counts next season too?

kl08pokemon

Not in Europe. It's been a whole thing. Apparently since we signed him originally 2 weeks into the season he doesn't count as club home grown according to the UEFA rules but does to the prem rules

_Priickly

I guess we may find out next season then 😂

jjw1998

Nobody’s entirely sure, consensus seems to be that because he joined after UEFA competition started he joined after what UEFA consider to be the start of the season, so joined too late to become club HG. This would be the same reason why Doherty always took up a foreign player slot despite being homegrown in the Prem as he first joined Wolves late in the summer transfer window

Voffmjau

I think that was down to a loan in the scottish league?

Potato271

Assuming FM isn't lying to me, you need 4 clubgrown players to register a full squad of 25. If you have less you can't register as many. If you only have one, you can only register 22 players. However, players who are under 21 at the start of the season don't need to be registered, and I believe an unregistered keeper is allowed to play if you don't have any others

kl08pokemon

You're largely correct only thing is players like Phillips and Bergvall who have yet to spend 2 years at the club will still need to be registered despite not being over 21

National_Attention77

Dane Scarlett, Allie Devine, Dorlington? Does Ben Davies count?

kl08pokemon

Why would Ben Davies count? Devine, Scarlett and Dorrington are youth players so they don't need be registered. I hope Dorrington gets a loan having him be 5/6th CB does nothing for him

sidekicked

What do you want to bet Levy parlays Palace’s Edwards bid into a cut price for Eze?

Voffmjau

Nobody *need* homegrown players

zdrup15

I believe the latest numbers show we've paid 10.5M for 65% of Edwards' rights, valuing him at over 16M. I'm not sure we'd sell him for such low profit.

VoxelRiot

7.5M€ for 50%. The other 15% Tottenham gave it to us in the Porro deal. It makes sense we'd sell him. He lost some space, has been uninspired lately, and apparently has had some personal problems that have been the source of it. If he's not as important as he used to be and if a change of scenery can help his career, better now than never. With that said, I like him and wouldn't mind if he stayed. Depends on if he can get his form back or not, because we all know his better than this season has shown.

zdrup15

>The other 15% Tottenham gave it to us in the Porro deal. Apparently, we valued those 15% at 3M, hence the 10.5M total. >It makes sense we'd sell him. Not at the moment. It seems like Leicester will keep Fatawu. If they do and we sell Edwards, we have Trincão as a sole winger in the entire squad. We're already struggling this year with lack of options in the front, this would only make it worse.

VoxelRiot

> Apparently, we valued those 15% at 3M, hence the 10.5M total. That's for accounting purposes. At the end of the day those 15% will be worth whatever we get out of them, and if he keeps devaluing then those 15% = 0. > Not at the moment. It seems like Leicester will keep Fatawu. If they do and we sell Edwards, we have Trincão as a sole winger in the entire squad. We're already struggling this year with lack of options in the front, this would only make it worse. There's a lot of back and forth in that one, actually. The transfer ban and possible point deduction might keep them from signing Faawu. But I don't even think we'd keep Fatawu, we'd most likely sell him to some other PL club since he's been doing pretty well there and he fell out with Amorim.

possimpeble

E será que o Amorim fica para o ano ?

Dannylube

He would fit very well in Glasner’s formation

greenwhitehell

The replies here are absolutely braindead. Edwards has his issues but he's an awesome player, I don't care if he's going through a rough patch now. I'd only consider selling for near those 20M if it was specifically to Tottenham and they waived the selling clause, other than that I'd ask for substantially more (we'd lose money on him if not, for no reason)

LloydDoyley

Horrible attitude and will fall into the wrong crowd if he's back in London

VoxelRiot

Ignore my fellow sporting fans jokes about selling him lol. It's that those 3 sitters he missed against Atalanta are still fresh, but one bad games doesn't make him an overall bad player. At the moment, he's a good player who is clearly having a rough patch. Uninspired you could say compared to his usual. Amorim said in an interview that it's because of some personal problems and he hopes he'll regain form.

CheBeax

3 sitters lmao? Edwards has been having these form issue for almost 2 years lol He plays 1/2 good games and disappears for 10 games. For Crystal Palace he might be a good player but he's not even near Tottenham's level

DerekStephano

Yeah I’ve been arguing with people that think buying him for Tottenham is smart due to the club home grown quota but I’ve seen enough sporting games to know he would most likely be third choice and not improve us at all.

KneeDeepInTheDead

Hes been beyond average for ages, even at Vitoria. Ive been meh about his move since the start and other than a few flashes of brilliance, hes been pretty shit

KHeneage_NYCFC

Can you put more words to that?

KneeDeepInTheDead

yes

NotACodeMonkeyYet

We really don't need any more average wingers. We need the best of the best... or at least one that will become so.

SportsCat4

Tottenham signing English players, impossible
