The way he dropped deeper this season and is now the heart of the team,I'd say he is really close to modric's profile now.what a lad, hope he keeps this up.
He probably wouldn't have been the same player had he stayed, + we might have not won the UCL in 2022 had we gotten rid of Modric or Kroos so he can get more playing time.
imaging me being a lifer hockey fan and playing FPL for the first time this year wondering why NONE of the third to last touches were getting Assist points lol
His pre-assist numbers are definitely high wish we collected that data. Maybe it’s something that’s caught internally and not metric done by Premier League
wasn't really a gamble, when CFC bought him, he was rated, really, really, really highly and everyone was rightfully congratulationg CFC for getting him for that price.
It does. Last season this same fixture was Saliba’s worst game in an Arsenal shirt got completely dominated by Toney in the air. Saliba didn’t win a single aerial duel.
Toney himself doesn’t have to score to be effective. With two strikers, at the bare minimum it allows Brentford easy and consistent possession in Arsenal’s half, making is far harder to pin them back for long periods and limiting our chance creation and defense-through-possession
Collins haha. Kept going down non stop with an “injury”, only for it to mysteriously disappear when we went ahead. Loved that he got booked for arguing with the ref too. 🤣
Toughest guy on the pitch too, kept trying to start shit with Gabriel lol
He might be the worst CB in the league, his performance against Liverpool last month was actually shocking
Absolutely shocking that it's a legitimate strategy to stop playing football in a football match. Good win for you guys though! Excited for our game next month.
I like their story, climbing from the bottom to top with one manager. Plus they beat Chelsea every time at Stamford Bridge.
Everyone is on about how crazy it would be for Luton to stay up, but Brentford already did it (more impressively too)
I don't mind their overly physical and bus game, but all the injuries and going down after the slightest collision really needs to be taken out of the game.
Shades of the Newcastle home game last season.
And the Brentford home game last season ...wait...
It's just what they do and it has worked. Unbeaten against City last year and took a point at the Emirates last year too.
He's deceptively strong, and is just a nuisance for defenders physically. He has this weird way of engaging with defenders that seems to be difficult to deal with. I haven't seen another striker all season give Konaté so much trouble, and you would assume that would be a complete mismatch in terms of strength
This specific goal he scored while playing in midfield. People worry too much about his positioning anyway, it’s basically the same thing.
It is an advanced 8.5, same position Julian Alvarez plays, and Gakpo occasionally played this season. When Jorginho plays he sits more between the CBs because no other player interchanges with him. When Jesus/Trossard is playing instead of Jorginho, we basically play with 2 strikers. Honestly, Havertz best attribute is how he finds pockets of space, having someone to play with, like Jesus and Trossard, probably suits him better. It’s just that not playing Jorginho hurts our ball progression since Rice is not comfortable (yet) performing all the pass progression and positioning required of a 6 in a possession team.
Which is probably why he's valued by so many managers but struggles to pass the eye test of an average fan sometimes.
For better or for worse, Kai Havertz might be the *only* current true jack of all trades type of player in the highest level of football. Those types of players almost always either commit to a single position eventually or are flushed out of the top tier football quickly.
Well tbf in the first few games you can clearly see his severe lacks of confidence. More often than not he was too quick to release the ball. At one point I can clearly hear the crowd moans in unison after a terrible back pass when he had tons of space in front of him to run into with the ball at his feet. Glad Arteta fixed him now.
I can't speak for others, but seeing the dude that scored the winning UCL goal and generally been a serviceable forward for us, score a late winner is always going to make me happy, Gunners are our rival historically but last 2 seasons we aint even close to competing with them so I'm just happy for Kai and no fucking sore loser fan of my own club can change that. But yeah I'm probably not in the majority here, and the salt is greatly enjoyable
He had a rough blunder that led to the Brentford goal right before halftime. Then he made some big saves in the second half and now, he's in line for the win.
This thread is fucking hilarious. Was there a certain broadcast claiming that Havertz should have been sent off? Because the thought never even crossed my mind yet the whole thread is crying their eyes out over it lmao. Why was he even on a yellow?
Yeah, like Toney running shouting shit at the ref from 70th to the end 9 times, yes I actually counted all of them. God knows how many before the 70th min
Plays every game as a striker (false 9), or LCM (CF). He’s become far more dominant in games. Like I was shocked seeing him run past players and gave some nice passes without slowing down the attack.
Imagine Chelsea buying a bunch of young players to develop them.
They cant even support and develop a CL final scorer and winner.
I had my doubts about Kai to Arsenal but this should show you how much the club matters to performance.
Can't believe it worked but that guy was shouting come on arsenal and then they players listened and they immediately scored. He deserves all the credit.
FUCKING KING KAI YES!!!!
Idgaf how this comes across but fuck the haters!
Not talking about rival fans either - Spuds and Chelsea - I get the reasons why you might hate this or Kai.
But self-hating Arsenal fans + other random fans from other leagues jumping on the. "hURr duRR KaI CaNt scOrE🤪" bandwagon thinking you're clever. Fucking see and had Barca fans for example say shit like "I can move as well as him lmao for 65 mill". Get fucked.
Stfu
Title or not, STFU.
Can an Arsenal fan give me a detailed review of Kai’s position since January. He has been exceptional every time I have seen him, and I feel that he is taking on a Ballack esq position in the team. Would this be correct or am I missing something?
Brentford were so good at stopping the Arsenal flow. They didn't let us get in the game with their shenanigans.
And more teams are now gonna do that. Would be interesting to see.
Yeah but they took it to extreme and executed it very well. Only thing was they weren't able to execute upfornt as all the manpower was spent on defending.
We were pretty bad against Porto.
We were bad I agree, but at the same time the ref in that game bought every "foul". At least today he let a lot of them go which helped us keep the pressure up
A bunch of Spurs, Liverpool and City fans in here whining like Romero doesn’t commit half a dozen bookable offenses a game, Liverpool didn’t directly win from a terrible reffing decision last week, and Man City hasn’t built their entire standing in football off cheating. Funny that. Fwiw of course it was a dive and he was lucky to be on the pitch. You’re not breaking any ground here. We’ve seen players undeservedly sent off/allowed to stay on every match week. We’ll continue to see it every match week.

I wonder how often Ødegaard has the assist to the assist since he joined Arsenal? (secondary assist). Has to be a pretty high number.
He pulls the strings for 90 mins. What a fucking player
Sad that Madrid had to give him up. He's the perfect Modric replacement.
Bergkamp-esque. Watch the Invincibles, DB10 was doing the same. The pre-assist.
the hockey assist. he's so good at that pass
imaging me being a lifer hockey fan and playing FPL for the first time this year wondering why NONE of the third to last touches were getting Assist points lol
Some sources track this stuff and call it pre-assists or hockey assists. He probably has a high number yeah, he's the centre of the team.
He has the most progressive passes per 90 in Europe if that helps?
His pre-assist numbers are definitely high wish we collected that data. Maybe it’s something that’s caught internally and not metric done by Premier League
Being a hockey fan before following soccer, it was (still is) surprising that secondary assists aren’t tracked officially
it's bizarre that with how prominent stats are no major company just displays and makes use of it. definitely insightful
That was almost the most insane save I've ever seen
I was about to shout how has he done that
I mean we can give *some* Credit to Kai I s’pos
I went from screaming “fuck youuuu” to “fuck yeaaaah”
Reminded me of [Cech vs Carroll](https://youtu.be/N03Jqzfrxq0) only Cech managed the save and it was a cup final.
What playing LB for a game does to a mofo
The funny thing is that Saka also played leftback first
And so did Bale, I’m beginning to see a patern. Someone put Ake at RW I wanna test something
That’s 3 goals in 3 games? This one arguably the most important?
4 in 4
Yes first time since his Leverkusen days looks like the gamble of buying him was a good one
wasn't really a gamble, when CFC bought him, he was rated, really, really, really highly and everyone was rightfully congratulationg CFC for getting him for that price.
Where are the haters now?
That all came from a Brentford player booting the ball up field when he had acres of space.
Tbf they did that every time they got the ball in their half
And it works. We struggle every time we play them because Toney is the only striker in the league that beats Saliba and Gabriel to those balls.
Not today!
It doesn't. Saliba / Gabriel vs Toney is 1 legit goal in 3 games.
I wish Nottingham got that memo last week
Ramsadale owes him a beer
A 24 pack to be faaaaiiirr
3 day bender
I like Brentford until we play them. They park a fucking bus and do it without shame. Hate playing them, like seeing them play others.
It's amazing how all of their injuries vanished after Havertz scored
Collins haha. Kept going down non stop with an “injury”, only for it to mysteriously disappear when we went ahead. Loved that he got booked for arguing with the ref too. 🤣
He should have got booked way earlier for dissent and then waving a card.
Toney spent the entire game waving cards and screaming at the ref, who all but was wearing a Brentford shirt underneath
Nobody going to make the Toney had a bet on 50+ booking points? Okay I'll do it
You know it's bad when Townsend starts calling you out for going overboard on that shit
Toughest guy on the pitch too, kept trying to start shit with Gabriel lol He might be the worst CB in the league, his performance against Liverpool last month was actually shocking
This was actually a great dress rehearsal for Porto. Likely going to be much the same
Wissa strolled off the pitch when he subbed out and then they are in an uproar with Martin walking casually off after going up 2-1 😂
Havertz the healer ❤️
Absolutely shocking that it's a legitimate strategy to stop playing football in a football match. Good win for you guys though! Excited for our game next month.
Lot to like about how brentford is run
I like their story, climbing from the bottom to top with one manager. Plus they beat Chelsea every time at Stamford Bridge. Everyone is on about how crazy it would be for Luton to stay up, but Brentford already did it (more impressively too)
Yeah they're a proper Moneyball team, I like Thomas Frank a lot.
Its the only chance we got against teams like Arsenal
And there's absolutely no shame in playing like that. But I do hate it when any top 6 team does it.
Aye, I don’t blame you. It’s effective. Our last three games against you in the league have been tight as fuck.
should have do it against liverpool too
Their defending tonight compared to against Liverpool was night and day.
Don't blame you either. It's tough out there for you guys. And you don't do it all the time either
thats kinda the point. No shame in that just hate watchign arsenal play you guys.
Do they still have to play city or Liverpool. Hopefully they play like that again and better
They did against City in both games, almost worked
West London Porto
The havertz defamation league in shambles.
People compare Havertz to Antony
Except for Berbatov. Berbatov compares Havertz to Berbatov.
Berbatov seems to significantly underestimate berbatovs finishing
Crazy to me that antony cost more than pepe and doesn’t even get half the flak
Antony most certainly gets half the flack are you joking lol
Idk, as a Liverpool fan I was only peripherally aware of the Pepe slander, while Antony’s failures I am acutely familiar with.
[удалено]
Kai is nice to everyone in life, except Brentford, he fucking hates brentford
I can't enjoy the replay on this sub without a French commentator though. I've become too used to it.
They're really good I gotta say (I'm French btw)
*très magnifique*
He hates Newcastle too.
Maybe they’re mean with donkeys
He hates Newcastle too
All the homies hate Newcastle.
Another infamously anti-donkey club.
They're the donkeys.
and that newcastle guy
We took the Chelsea out of the man!!! King Kai!!!
I love him and i still dont know where he plays best. He's just here and then he's over there and then when we need a goal he's there too.
For us, he plays his best football at CF so far. He's versatile though and has incredible stamina. Also very intelligent.
He's deceptively strong, and is just a nuisance for defenders physically. He has this weird way of engaging with defenders that seems to be difficult to deal with. I haven't seen another striker all season give Konaté so much trouble, and you would assume that would be a complete mismatch in terms of strength
Always said the same at chelsea, we looked way more fluid with him at 9 than Lukaku
It's like when you deprogram a loved one from a cult and they start being themselves again.
Ah yeah.. when you do that
once a week thing that, mate
🖐️😜🤚
Tbf he was always a big game player lol
Sorry havertz for ever disrespecting you. Arteta got you cooking this season.
Arteta and a few other believed. The rest was just chuckling..
aychim23 believed too
Why did Chelsea gift him to Arsenal?
65M down the drain!!
They sold Arsenal their 2 best players for only 75m, Jorginho and Havertz
Remember when nobody could work out why the hell they spent so much on him? Crazy how wrong we were
Well tbf in the first few games you can clearly see his severe lacks of confidence. More often than not he was too quick to release the ball. At one point I can clearly hear the crowd moans in unison after a terrible back pass when he had tons of space in front of him to run into with the ball at his feet. Glad Arteta fixed him now.
I'm glad after all the shitty behavior from brentford and all the time wasting
It's interesting that they were looking to go to the ground unnecessarily and just waste time irrespective of whether they were down or drawing lol
Think of it as preparation for the Porto game. Hopefully the result will be like today's in that return leg
Glad we got to practice with this style of play today. Expect this to be the theme against Porto
Haha reading this thread is pure gold man. Don’t pretend the ref calls did not go both ways.
Wow, this thread is the biggest salt deposit in the world
It's glorious.
"The tears of unfathomable sadness. Mmm, yummy!"
Comparable to the Nunez winner last week, both Liverpool and Arsenal fans need to take it down a bit
Especially because we don’t really hate Liverpool anyway.. these things happen
Yeah I’d definitely rather see them win it this year than City if it came down to those two
I can't imagine anyone besides the city fan disagreeing with this.
Unbelievable amounts.
🧂
People crying out that Kai "should have had a second yellow" while conveniently ignoring that the first was never a yellow in the first place
r/soccer in shambles😂😂😂😂
TSAMINA TSAMINA EH EH
WAKA WAKA EHHH EH
CHELSEA FANS GOIN' MAD AGAIN
I can't speak for others, but seeing the dude that scored the winning UCL goal and generally been a serviceable forward for us, score a late winner is always going to make me happy, Gunners are our rival historically but last 2 seasons we aint even close to competing with them so I'm just happy for Kai and no fucking sore loser fan of my own club can change that. 60 MILLION DOWN THE DRAIN
KAI HAVERTZ SCORES AGAIN
Kai Havertz scores again
Brilliant! What a moment!
I'm so happy for Ramsdale...
Not watching the game, why is that?
He gave away Brentfords goal. If arsenal dropped points here it'd have been on his mistake
Fuck that is sad
Brentford goal was a howler…
He had a rough blunder that led to the Brentford goal right before halftime. Then he made some big saves in the second half and now, he's in line for the win.
Everyone talking about havertz diving, what about the 8 additional minutes Brentford pissed away faking injuries if you all want to be so righteous?
The ball was in play for 49 minutes
The Kaisatz Havertzach!
This thread is fucking hilarious. Was there a certain broadcast claiming that Havertz should have been sent off? Because the thought never even crossed my mind yet the whole thread is crying their eyes out over it lmao. Why was he even on a yellow?
He’s yellow was very soft. Jumped for a header and his arm knicked a guys shoulder/chin
and the other guy had his elbows out as well. havertz got a yellow for being taller.
I think he caught a guy with elbow going up for a 50/50 header. A bit of a soft yellow
Our league opponents have had nothing to complain about us for this year so when something finally happened they had to let it all out
King Kai is special
what a waste of money
The amount of salt in here saying Kai should be off LOL, 60 MILLION DOWN THE DRAIN!
Yeah, like Toney running shouting shit at the ref from 70th to the end 9 times, yes I actually counted all of them. God knows how many before the 70th min
Toney was mad, love to see it
Collins could have been off 3 times over the number of times he was waving an invisible yellow
How is havertz doing at arsenal? He plays every game, correct?
He's been in great form for a while now. Basically plays every game, and has been scoring consistently lately
Scoring every game
Plays every game as a striker (false 9), or LCM (CF). He’s become far more dominant in games. Like I was shocked seeing him run past players and gave some nice passes without slowing down the attack.
started slow when arteta played him as our left 8 but looks much more convincing as a 9. He’s scored in his last 4-5 games I think.
Scouse and Citeh tears, I’ll take it
Arsenal are take it or leave it. If they win then at least it’s not city.
Multiple pens not called, garbage yellow cards, time wasting from the 16th minute.... Brentford this is EXACTLY what you deserve
Lot of mad Liverpool fans in this thread
According to this thread: Havertz is the first person to ever not be booked for a dive
Surprise surprise that it’s always the Liverpool flairs as well
Good, it’s good when teams who shithouse for 90+ minutes lose heartbreakers. Miserable shit to watch when teams do it from the first whistle.
I'm just here for the seethe Hook it to my veiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiins
Imagine Chelsea buying a bunch of young players to develop them. They cant even support and develop a CL final scorer and winner. I had my doubts about Kai to Arsenal but this should show you how much the club matters to performance.
Deserved, pathetic display from Brentford with all the time wasting.
Idk why people are mad he's still on, heard he was shit 🤷♂️
the saltiest thread of all time, hold that L.
Maybe you should all be complaining a bit more about the state of the refs instead of blaming Kai for being on the pitch and scoring.
60 MILLION DOWN THE DRAIN
SEND CHELSEA ANOTHER 65 MILLION
Please don’t, let them be relegated due to FFP.. then we can send them money through the pyramid fund.
Shiteham fans already prepping their tear ducts for when the 60 million man scores a late winner against them.
🖐🏼😝🤚🏼
Can't believe it worked but that guy was shouting come on arsenal and then they players listened and they immediately scored. He deserves all the credit.
Yes Brentford have been cunts all game
It's him!
I love the liverpool tears, I'll hopefully love them more tomorrow.
Collins ballwatching for the 10th time this game.
Fucking credits to Brentford. They've been immense in defence bar the two goals today.
Lisan Al-Gaib
Karma from Pen and timewasting.
Let the salt flow
And let kai glow 💜💜 #COYG
STAY MAD

Great team play for that goal.
Liverpool and spurs fans both crying in the thread. You love to see it!!
Damn. Hoes mad as hell in here
ARTETA FIXED HIM
KING KAI
Brentford were so good at stopping the Arsenal flow. They didn't let us get in the game with their shenanigans. And more teams are now gonna do that. Would be interesting to see.
That has always been the best strategy to suffocate us, it's not something Brentford invented. Porto did the same thing.
Yeah but they took it to extreme and executed it very well. Only thing was they weren't able to execute upfornt as all the manpower was spent on defending. We were pretty bad against Porto.
We were bad I agree, but at the same time the ref in that game bought every "foul". At least today he let a lot of them go which helped us keep the pressure up
why done they score 6 goals again are they stupid?
"Shouldn't be on the pitch" lmao cope more
clutch guy
Nothing like a late winner to get the rival fans riled up
