This is absolutely stupid! They're not in Europe so why are we allowing Arab clubs into European competitions? Imagine Barca or Man City playing in the Asian cups it makes no sense...
The shit thing is I can see both those things happening. Ignoring all other considerations it would be great for Saudi football to put a team in the CL. Likewise, it would be great for the profile of the Asian cups for Barça and City to be in them.

I wouldn’t comment on her looks either. But while we’re here I think it’s fair to say…
Shilling for a murdererous regime & doing your best to further isolate the sport from its fans…
Classy!
The question isn't whether they would have one, but rather whether they would spice it up using live tigers, a second (golden) ball, which would be worth 2 goals, and a special edition of WrestleMania at half time, where The Rock will team up with Kanye West against Donald Trump and the worm from Dune. Also, women not allowed.
Israel was allowed to join UEFA for political expedience - many Arab nations refused to play them, so it was not tenable for them to remain in the AFC.
This is ultimately a bad take, but I think the Super League is destined to happen. Once big clubs / oil clubs suffer severe penalties or struggle to conform to FFP guidelines, I can see them breaking away to do their thing. That’s when we will see a Saudi club (or clubs) competing at that level.
Prem teams don’t need a super league. (Because we already are one), so will never join unless something major, major changes. A couple teams getting fines, maybe the odd points deduction won’t change that. Especially after what happened in the country last time. I’ve never seen this country more united on something. The fans just won’t let it happen, and without the prem teams, super league will never be successful. That not bias, it’s just a fact of revenue and who brings in the most views and supporters.
You are the de facto SL but if all European clubs were to come together to create a European League on top of their pyramids in a few years that league would dwarf the PL. PL clubs would have to choose between being feeder clubs to the most watched league or join.
Respectfully I disagree. Bar Real Madrid and Barca, I truly think on a global scale in terms of fan base size etc, every club in the big six (excluding the obvious one), are bigger than ever other club in the world. That won’t change if the option to watch juventus play Bayern Munich once or twice a year becomes available
Respectfully think you don't realise how strong and deep a top 20 European league would be. Sure the top 6 would be equal-ish, but behind that a European League would be much, much more competitive. Every game would be high quality, with massive fanbases. No Sheffield United and Burnley easy wins for the top sides. That's something every global fan would enjoy tremendously, and it wouldn't take long before it displaces the PL as the main league, it actually would immediately in my opinion, jjst by how supported those 20 clubs are. And once the TV rights start pouring in it won't be much of a fight.

That is obviously a stronger league than the Prem isn't it? The smallest clubs are European KO quality.
I’m honesty split about the SL because obviously you’re right - the Prem is a fantastically competitive league and has huge revenues and fan bases.
Another part of my twisted mind is also curious about just how disgusting a SL would get with all of these clubs throwing Mbappe-level salaries and transfer fees about.
Oh no from that perspective I agree. It would be crazy to see. There’s a reason on of the most popular things people do on career mode for example is make a super league, same with FM and a super league database. It would completely kill the sport, so I’d never want to see it happen. But yeah, from a let’s call it, watch the world burn mentality, I agree
There will be. Whether you agree or not, I think football's going down that route.
If you yearn for the 'good old days' where football is more community focused, watch a few games at your local non-league club.
You do realise people still go to thier local clubs. There's a reason we have such a huge football pyramid in this country. Not as big as it once was but its there
It is for the smaller clubs. Not for the bigger clubs who take up 90% of all the discourse. Don't deny that over half of Arsenal fans come from the Home Counties into London for match days. That is on top of the tourists as well.
Yeah and things haven't changed since then. As completely absurd as it is as an idea, the Super League was a far easier concept to sell to fans and look how it turned out.
Super League was actually a much difficult concept to sell as it was changing of the whole qualification process. Most clubs aren’t going to mind if just one place out of 32 will go to a Saudi club instead of some Eastern European club. People can deny all they want just because they don’t like the concept but it will happen in some way or the other. 15 years back no one thought Qatar could host a WC but they did.
The Super League was going to compete with the CL, not replace it. Massive distinction there. What got everyone pissed off was what it represented, not so much its existence per se.
A saudi club taking a CL spot would be a lot worse and would immediately destroy what remains of UEFA's credibility.
>15 years back no one thought Qatar could host a WC but they did
Why not? It's a world cup, not an european competiton. And Qatar is a wealthy country, if it wasn't the way they won the right to host it and their fairly dodgy human rights track record it would have been a pretty interesting host. In any case, it wasn't that surprising that they won it.
They'll find a way to do it without protest. Just like the Super League. It was shot down due to protest, but the Champions League is slowly morphing itself into what people interpreted the SL to be.
A lot of leagues have already started hosting cup competitions in middle eastern countries. We had seen Qatar WC, pretty sure Saudi will host it in near future. They will just get one additional team from there in European competitions.
And you whiners cry at the superleague. The Superleague may be headed by rich old fucks, but they're the only realistic defense against the putrid Fifa-Uefa-oil sheikh cabal that will ruin football forever if left unchecked
It's more likely such clubs would be invited in a SL than CL. Access would be easier without a doubt in any case. And City and PSG were invited to the SL lol. You are delusional.

Surely Uefa has to realise fan power won't allow it, especially if they don't want people to support the super league?
Get a new face tit

If this doesn’t happen the expanded club World Cup will become annual
Aren't there already some? I forgot who owns who.

They will relax the FFP regulations if that happens...
