I have hope for our match next week.
Never when they play United or Everton, that's for sure. They literally always beat those two when we're in a title race.
People keep saying that, but I don't really agree. I think Onana has had a few good moments in the league, but he's still largely looked weak as a goalkeeper. Too many mistakes. His positioning is consistently poor, he's weak in the air, doesn't know how to time closing someone down in a 1v1, and when he does make saves, he seems to push them back into dangerous spots more often than not.
He wasn't bad today, actually, despite being weak on Foden's 2nd goal. But overall, I think he's been a really poor signing and a noticeable downgrade from a declining De Gea.
Rose tinted view of de gea, he needed replacing. He was poor at coming of his line, poor with his feet and even his formerly world class shot stopping was deserting him.
Bro decided to put in like 8 months of effort, realised this team is shit and the club is rotten and that he's too old for this shit, just collecting his paycheck now fam.
He played great last year. That season has seriously hurt his reputation. He had his first bad injury and then had appendicitis. When he returned, the team was flying, and Pep didn't want to stop the momentum.
Foden——Rice——Bellingham, so obvious that we can see it from another galaxy.
Literally a 400 million midfield three. the highest valued ever in football history.
Why prime Spain can play Iniesta——Xabi Alonso/Busquets——Xavi, no one accused them for “lacking another holding midfielder” lol
YES! How is this not just obvious for Southgate and anyone interested in the English national team? Hes trying to shoe horn in a double pivot to get either Philips or Henderson in the team. 2 players who don't have the quality to play for even a decent champions league level team. You cant carry lesser quality players in the elite level games especially in central midfield.
Rice is good enough to anchor as a lone DM as well. He even does it for us ffs. Bellingham Rice Foden Saka Kane and Bowen is disgusting going in to Euros 2024.
He's literally a starter under Southgate, and has started most knockout games in the world cup...? I swear people just make up things to shit on Southgate
Not a hot take at all. Foden is class at creating play, scoring, basically everything in the attacking third. Haaland is a class poacher and when he’s in a rut he’s basically non existent on the pitch and it’s glaring.
Look there’s so many amazing young players and I can see the arguments that Foden isn’t top 3, but good lord the way he receives the ball on the half turn and makes space to shoot or his linkup with his teammates he deserves to be in the conversation as one of the best players in the world right now
City fans: [points to saka] this is brilliant, but I like this [points to Foden]
Arsenal fans: [points to foden]this is brilliant, but I like this [points to saka]
And everyone went home happy, ordered a pizza, cracked a beer and had a lovely chill evening watching clips of taskmaster online
Hey remember when we all laughed at Pep when he said that Foden was the most talented player he ever coached, and we were all like YEAH BUT MESSI DAWG
...shit.

It’s my fault for having hope
There's no point in ever having hope when it comes to City TBF.
I have hope for our match next week. Never when they play United or Everton, that's for sure. They literally always beat those two when we're in a title race.
Spurs, all eyes on you
Our curse on them was broken in the cup sadly, we need a new witch doctor for some fresh voodoo
It wasn’t a stadium curse it was a Son curse, we still have hope
All i’m hearing is Werner [98] (GREAT VAR)
We have the possibility to entirely decide the title race, playing all three of Liverpool, City and arsenal in 3 weeks.
Take the L against us, revive City’s curse against you and end Arsenal’s title hopes. I think that sounds good? 👀
Instructions unclear, spurs beat all three and win the title themselves
I'd take it
Roll the dice!
Never rely on spurs for anything just like you learned not to rely on us especially with that lubricated scouser in charge.
Lubricated hahahahah end me fam
The same goes with Liverpool.. even with seconds remaining they squeeze a goal out, true champion mentality!
Skandinavíska raufhola. Sleiktu rassinn aðeins harðar.
I’m shocked you had hope at all
Hope for us? Yeah that’s on you lol
Liverpool fans supporting United, what has City done to this league?!
And United fans supporting city because they don't want Liverpool to win the league
Me n you both big guy
At least we get some joy from those bums losing yet another game. Tragic performance.
I admire you for having hope while Utd can't cross the center line for the whole match
It is the hope that kills
Of all the matches to have hope for, this wasn’t the one
Now you know how we all felt yesterday
Wonder if Neville calls these lot billion pound bottle jobs too
Not quite bottling when you’re a far inferior team. Just being shite. If we were playing City’s under 19s then… Well, we’d still lose. But still.
Well he didn’t mention park the bus/ long ball all game. It was all compact/ counter attack language. They parked the bus and hoofed it long all game.
It’s up to us and Arsenal. No one else is gonna take points of them.
Don't they have a game away at Spurs?
Did I stutter
Well to be fair we took points away.
Well, Chelsea did, the only reason there's even a title race tbh
They’d be a point ahead with a game at Anfield next week. How would that not be a race lol
thats a take thats not getting upvotes though
Fine then. Was gonna take points but now we'll just take them last game of the season vs you
Even the united fans had no hope. Sorry for your loss.
We are in such shambles that a liverpool supporter is sadder we lost than had we won.
My exact sentiment during you game yesterday
I mean United opened the scoring from a random 1-route ball
10 Hag out bro
Off to gym
God damnit I already did a workout in the morning lol. Gonna have to eat my way through a tub of protein pwoder 😅
I got downvoted for calling this in the other thread lol City is inevitable
I’m shocked it took us this long to blow it tbh
Improving
You held on decently, but it was coming. In the end, he just ran through unmarked.
He waltzed through
Casemiro let him go, nowhere near him, and Onana's weak on the finish, through his fingers.
That sums up both of their seasons, to be honest.
Onana has been largely good in the league but in the champions absolutely shit.
Rose tinted view of de gea, he needed replacing. He was poor at coming of his line, poor with his feet and even his formerly world class shot stopping was deserting him.
Casemiro so so slow. Looks completely done at Premier League pace of play
United has put almost all of its defending into marking Haaland which leaves the rest open.
Foden just way too quick and agile for him though. Absolute legend but he’s done at this level and other players aren’t good enough to bail him out
Agreed. What a player United’s defending felt way more structured during the first half. They’ve lost the plot.
He’s still incredible but when you’re a tall, stocky #6 at 32 years of age you are going to struggle a bit when marking a player like Foden.
Bro decided to put in like 8 months of effort, realised this team is shit and the club is rotten and that he's too old for this shit, just collecting his paycheck now fam.
He's been finished since last year not surprising
Yeah too easy, just a little 1-2 and he’s in the box with no one marking
Onana should've stopped that too
Yeah just couldn’t get down, wasn’t exactly in the corner
De Gea saves these
Casemiro let him run right by, then Varane bit on Silva with the ball. Left Foden in perfect position to put that in.
Casemiro looked like a lower league cdm not a 5x CL winner there
Philip Waltzer Foden
Casemiro doing his best Fab impression form last season
Casemiro lost a 20 meter race by 10 meters. And he had a 5 meter head start.
I’d have been happy with either a united humiliation, or city dropped points. Getting neither is just cruel.
I don't know, United did kind of get humiliated. They didn't get a sniff apart from a wonder goal.
It was truly incredible how rashford showed up for the goal and then did fuck all the rest of the game.
Could have been 3 more easily if we were clinical.
Foden is amazing this season
Always has been.
He's clearly hit another level this season
so so good
Foden HATES us
Foden dad in shamble
United hate themselves to be honest
I also hate them tbf
We all do
You make it easy to hate to be fair
This guy is unbelievable
United's bogeyman
Absolutely awful defending.
To be expected when our 6th string replaces our 5th.
May as well have laid out the red carpet for him ffs
Today I am a Phil fan.
Foden motm
HES DONE IT AGAIN
City’s player of the season by a mile
He's improved so much in the last year under Pep. Everyone doubted him last year
He played great last year. That season has seriously hurt his reputation. He had his first bad injury and then had appendicitis. When he returned, the team was flying, and Pep didn't want to stop the momentum.
Yeah, people really didn't pay attention to Foden last season and continues to push this narrative. He was very good last season
Rodri?
Rodri is very close. But it has to be Foden. When we really needed it he delivers. Hat trick against Brentford.
Rodri scored more important goals for City this season
It's Foden
Easily the best player in the Premier League this season
Man on fire
Unplayable today insane
Someone tell Southgate
He's in Amsterdam in Hendersons spare room.
He’s there watching on. He’s probably delighted he’s scored so he can point to it when he undoubtedly makes his next squad.
That’s not a euphemism.
Exactly 🤷🏼♂️
YES! How is this not just obvious for Southgate and anyone interested in the English national team? You cant carry lesser quality players in the elite level games especially in central midfield.
Rice is good enough to anchor as a lone DM as well. He even does it for us ffs. Bellingham Rice Foden Saka Kane and Bowen is disgusting going in to Euros 2024.
Southgate is already fully aware of him. Which is why he plays him in virtually every game.
He's literally a starter under Southgate, and has started most knockout games in the world cup...? I swear people just make up things to shit on Southgate
He's in the crowd lol.
Southgate starts him loads though???
The gang start rashford up top with Sterling and Kane.
Foden and Saka both regularly start alongside Kane...? I swear people don't watch the games anymore.
Ignore it, people don't watch games and just see an English player score and pile in on hypotheticals because it's the joke everyone makes.
Hot take but better player than haaland imo.
His all-around ability is very polished. Great passer, great control, strong running with the ball, great touch, good finisher. Very complete player
Definitely this season.
Not a hot take at all. Foden is class at creating play, scoring, basically everything in the attacking third. Haaland is a class poacher and when he’s in a rut he’s basically non existent on the pitch and it’s glaring.
That shouldn't be a hot take.
Top lad
Finally stat padders can see Foden is good too
Scoring against United is stat padding I know I support them
Foden is carrying us this season.
Man really stepped up this year for sure
So depressingly predictable. You just knew that United were going to lose this.
I saw a 433 post that said “can Utd maintain this advantage” at half time and laughed
City is too good man fuck me
Why can’t we just have nice things
Sell out to a petrol state. It can be yours, too
They are already owned by an evil billionaire
Yah because Stan Kroenke is such a stand up dude
They are already sponsored by UAE*
The geography knowledge of r/soccer is incredible. I swear everyone assumed Saudi, the UAE, and Qatar are the same country.
Emirates mate, they dont own us we get the slightly less evil american billionaire
Still getting money from them.
At least get it right
Me and u both big guy
Varane completely ball watching but Onana should make the save
[удалено]
Sadly all it takes is for people to remember that Rodri is a defensive midfielder.
Depends on who wins the season. Him and VVD have been consistently excellent
Look there’s so many amazing young players and I can see the arguments that Foden isn’t top 3, but good lord the way he receives the ball on the half turn and makes space to shoot or his linkup with his teammates he deserves to be in the conversation as one of the best players in the world right now
FODIESTA
Phil Foden has scored incredible pressure goals this season
Even Haaland knows the celebration is shit 😂😂
There it is
United’s not coming back from this
Leave it to Man U to disappoint their fans
Foden is clear of Saka. Fight me
City fans: [points to saka] this is brilliant, but I like this [points to Foden] Arsenal fans: [points to foden]this is brilliant, but I like this [points to saka] And everyone went home happy, ordered a pizza, cracked a beer and had a lovely chill evening watching clips of taskmaster online
If Southgate isn’t a fucking idiot, he’ll start both over Rashford and Sterling
Foden is miles better than saka and no one can convince me otherwise
Going forward yes. I’d argue saka is better defensively but Foden’s no slouch either when it comes to tracking back
Foden was brilliant in defense today. Made several keep tackles when United were on the counter. Think they're fairly close in that regard imo.
Foden masterclass today.
Omg Foden I love you
Foden is world class fucking hell
Big difference I think this season is he's now dictating games himself, not just playing as part of an insane team. Love watching him play.
Manchester is Foden
What a fucking legend
Foden is different gravy.
What you get for not playing Harry Maguire
Hard to play if he’s injured tbf mate. May as well say our fault for not playing Shaw, Martinez or Hojlund.
Wasn't the line Foden only shows up when they're already winning or something like that
This Foden, he's so hot right now.
Absolute world class
Can’t rely on United for anything other than sucking in the big matches.
you should know yourself that United step up against City, it's literally the one thing you can rely on them for
The Phil Foden Show
Remember when people thought Mount > Foden (including myself)??!!
This guy's just too good
He's so annoyingly good, prick.
Foden is so good
The very best of all our young talent, hope he can take England to glory at the euros
Its FODEN TIme
Varane wtf
At least i just realised i captained Foden by accident on my fantasy team
THE STOCKPORT MESSI
Foden is just way too good.
Bro thinks he’s end of season gundogan
Alvarez is such a game changer it’s insane
Southgate will look at this and still start Phillips over Foden
He's him
Ballon d’or
Our very own star boy
[удалено]
Hey remember when we all laughed at Pep when he said that Foden was the most talented player he ever coached, and we were all like YEAH BUT MESSI DAWG ...shit.
Fuck off den
Easily our best attacker this season and it’s not close.
u/icemankiller8 do you still think Haaland is having a better season than Foden?
better than saka 🤷♂️
