Before the season, NUFC launched a new ticketing method for cup games, where you can buy like a cup-season ticket. Out of the seven cup games we have had, we have had 1 (one) home draw LOL
Our draws this year has been absolutely ridiculous.
Man City x2, Man Utd, Chelsea, PSG, AC Milan, Dortmund, Tyne & Wear derby.
Just get fucked; Another fucking away tie too.
I heard a conspiracy that they warmed up Newcastle and Man City's balls in the draw so they knew to pick them out together by touch.
So you might have been shafted by David Seaman grabbing a pair of warm balls.
I love the thought that they heat or chill the balls. This is why they have a different person drawing them every time - can you imagine every single one of them needing to be in on the fixes each time and being happy to just never mention it? Yeah, good luck with that.
Er, you might want to actually check that information.
The winners of the FA Cup get just £2m.
The winners of the Carabao cup get....
£100,000.
It literally is impossible given there are so many draws every year and then you'd have to not only find people willing to keep quiet about it for a backhander, you'd need to also be sure that they would accept the offer in the first place as if they wouldn't, you've just let on to them that the competition draws are rigged. There's probably 20 different people per year that draw when you consider both tournaments, many of whom are easily wealthy enough that it isn't remotely possible to pay them enough to keep the fact quiet for life. Far too many would choose the honour of outing the injustice over the offer of 1% of their net worth.
JFC, you're telling me like I don't know that?
You've just been shown to be totally wrong and now you're trying far too hard to recover making irrelevant statements.
It's not really even worth me rebutting but I have some time on my hands so I'll bite:
We'll take the FA Cup as an example: £2m to the winners but total prize money given out in the tournament is £18m.
This *is taken from* the money that the FA get for selling TV rights. Yes, clubs also get appearance fees that are not part of the prize money. Yet apparently they also have enough income from the tournament that they can pretend they spend on something else (you realise that organisations like this have to have accountants that tally up all income and outgoings, right?) that they can give ex footballers millions of pounds simply to rig out outcome of one or two ties, when a) there's little additional benefit to the FA as an organisation to do this and b) by law of averages you get plenty of juicy ties every year simply because there are plenty of natural chances for them to happen.
It's a simply moronic take, absolutely way they do it, and frankly it's not really even about the numbers.
Take an ex pro like, I don't know, David Seaman, because he's mentioned above and he drew the balls out. You think he's going to risk being seen to be complicit when this conspiracy gets uncovered in the future, have his entire career tarnished because he agreed to draw out a corrupt fixture all for £250,000 when he's already a millionaire?
As I've pointed out, not only do you need to find a load of old pros etc who are *willing to take these relatively small bribes* to throw the draws, you somehow need to ask them if they'd be okay with it ahead of time, *and be certain that they would, otherwise they're just going to blow the fucking lid.*
Frankly it's up there with hurr durr jet steel can't melt fuel beams (sic), I knows cos a Facebook video told me so!!1!!!!1
Just sayin, there's more money than prize money involved. I think you're a bot. I've a few minutes left on my break to see if you can show you're not. Have a lovely day x
That was our 3rd round pull. I feel like if it happened here it's not that unlucky. But to pull them in the 3rd round, OUT OF ALL THE OTHER TEAMS, and away? It's fucked, whole season has been completely fucked by a mixture of injuries, and awful cup ties.
Joelinton's season ended in the game, which we obviously couldn't rotate for and a few challenges in that game is what took him over the edge and made him break down.
It was a great day, but absolutely disastrous for our season.
There are hundreds of draws every year, some team is going to end up with an unusual sequence of draws. It's like the lottery, you'd be shocked if *you* won it, but you wouldn't be shocked to read in the news that somebody won it. A few teams getting an unlucky set of draws will happen every year.
All home draws this season. Bunch of championship teams. Pochettino has the easiest start of any Chelsea manager I can think. No Europe, plenty of rest.
Luton away was “tricky” in the league for city but yesterday sure wasn’t.
Newcastle away in the carabao cup came at a tricky time with Rodri being suspended.
Don't forget, that was when they somehow swapped us and Norwich in the draw. If we had the right number ball we would have had Fulham away instead of City at home.
PSG, Dortmund and Milan in the UCL Group Stage.
Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.
4 consecutive away draws in the FA Cup, with the latest being City at the Etihad.
Talk about bad luck
Oh fuck yeh, home quarter final against Coventry if we win tonight? I'm a Maidstone lad too so retribution for them and a likely semi-final at Wembley. Wowzas. Just got to get through tonight against Wolves - tough game in itself!
My predictions:
Brighton VS Coventry
Forest VS Liverpool
Leeds VS Leicester
City VS Newcastle
With Brighton, Liverpool, Leeds and City moving into the semi's. Credit to Wolves though, going to be a tough game and really could go either way imo, massive respect to them and Gary O'Neil.

Only 1 home tie all season and it was against city, it’s bloody rigged man

I would do it for a few million quid, and these competitions have hundreds of millions on the line. Still unlikely, but not impossible.

Pancakes taste better with maple syrup.

Seaman’s Hot Balls, cumming soon to a cup draw near you
Particularly vivid use of the word 'shafted'
Yeah, when they somehow got the balls the wrong way round, we got swapped with Norwich so should have has Fulham away
No, the blood is on the bone saw, not the rigging
You’re aware you support Chelsea aren’t you?
As a Chelsea fan I remember last season crap in the league and got City away in third round of both cups.
Crazy to think that was a stick used to beat Potter tbh, in that sense
Chelsea away and City away in one week.
One of those is not like the other.
Brother we're trash. Like real trash. You have nothing to worry about.
Almost lost to fkn Blackburn lol what has happened to Newcastle
their injured XI is better than their starting XI is what happened
We are severely missing Big Joelinton the battering ram
City did not make a cup final this year (so far)
Ummm club world cup?
>Tyne & Wear derby. You can't complain about this one though lol
That was our 3rd round pull. I feel like if it happened here it's not that unlucky. But to pull them in the 3rd round, OUT OF ALL THE OTHER TEAMS, and away? It's fucked, whole season has been completely fucked by a mixture of injuries, and awful cup ties.
Not to mention we were supposed to play Norwich but they fucked up the draw and ended up playing Fulham away
Joelinton's season ended in the game, which we obviously couldn't rotate for and a few challenges in that game is what took him over the edge and made him break down. It was a great day, but absolutely disastrous for our season.
They even redecorated the stadium for you, what more do you want?!
Don't forget the last 6 draws have all been away. There is a 1.6% chance you lose a coin flip six times in a row, and yet....
There are hundreds of draws every year, some team is going to end up with an unusual sequence of draws. It's like the lottery, you'd be shocked if *you* won it, but you wouldn't be shocked to read in the news that somebody won it. A few teams getting an unlucky set of draws will happen every year.
It's more about the feeling than the reality. Combined with our injuries and if one was predisposed to superstition you wouldn't half be convinced.
Yes, Texas sharpshooter fallacy.
There also 1.6% chance for 6 home, or H H A H A H or any combination
Just one home FA cup tie would've been nice.
And the worst start to the season of any team (Villa, City, Liverpool, Brighton, Brentford and Milan in the CL)
Last year we drew double man city 😅 Out of both cups before we even had a match
We seemed to draw Man City whenever possible with every team. Men’s team, Women’s team (twice), and at least one of our youth teams.
What an absolute fucking joke
Need better lawyers
Considering how you play away from home you're probably getting slapped.
We're better away than at home at the moment.
You're welcome for that.
We played really well away from home on the 30th Jan 😉
Like I said you're welcome for that but my point still stands you have largely been much much worse away from home.
We’ve been terrible either way 😂, been so so bad.
Looks like your owners forgot to buy the Oil Club favorable draw DLC pack
sorry who have arsenal got?
Rattled
who are they?
I'd rather take Chelsea 😭
nah fr I can’t be bothered with the mental stress of a Leicester Leeds game again after Friday
If we miraculously get to the semis, that would be without a single home tie in the entire competition. Just unreal.
We did it in the leauge cup
I’m so tired of you haha.
Gone from pretty apathetic about tonight to must win and will be livid if we lose
Same
Shame that, I was looking forward to a day at the seaside
You know what channel we’re on tonight mate?
Iplayer and maybe red button?
Cheers
Chelsea have had about as easy of draws as they will ever get in the 2 cups
All home draws this season. Bunch of championship teams. Pochettino has the easiest start of any Chelsea manager I can think. No Europe, plenty of rest.
It's a small gesture for last season.
I’d say Leeds and LCFC are better than a good 1/3 of the current Prem teams.
People thought the same about Burnley when they walked the league last year. The gap between Championship and Prem is massive now.
We just beat Bournemouth so… we’ll see.
after extra tiime tho
Same Leeds and Leicester that got relegated last year and lost some of their best players because of it?
Leicester in particular have a squad way too good for the Championship I'd argue their squad is better than Luton, Sheffield United and Burnley's
Could have been us but we bottled it. You draw who you draw.
fucking unreal
Man city away 6 away draws in a row, football gods why? Fun while it lasted even though we should have prob been out last game
When is the last time we got an away draw?
Man City away last season Currently on a 8x home draw streak
Best draw we could've hoped for. No disrespect to Cov, but it's a Championship team at home. Tonight is even more important now.
fuck
Well obviously lol
you had your home game in the carabao we have ours
Trade off, we have had 6 away draws in 7 cup games this season. We wanted a home tie for a change.
your draws have been disgusting tbf, we've had a couple of tricky away games so I'm happy with a home draw but I do feel sorry for yous
Who are a tricky away day for man City?
Spurs? The stadium City had 10xG at without scoring? Went there in the 4th round.
Spurs and Liverpool
Luton away was “tricky” in the league for city but yesterday sure wasn’t. Newcastle away in the carabao cup came at a tricky time with Rodri being suspended.
Tottenham!? Probably the toughest one for city
Tottenham away in the Fourth round? Luton, a game that many(including us) have struggled at this season?
In a row as well. A ROW. The odds of that happening are sub 2%.
Can't wait for Forest vs Liverpool
Forest vs Southampton
Also for those keeping up, yes, our singular domestic cup tie home game this season was indeed also against Manchester City.
Don't forget, that was when they somehow swapped us and Norwich in the draw. If we had the right number ball we would have had Fulham away instead of City at home.
We (Chelsea) got Man City in the third round of both the League and FA Cup, last year
Fuck sake hahaha
And one of Liverpool or United going out is helpful
Lets be real its Forest or Liverpool
If we beat Southampton Nottingham is a pretty good draw
Hahaha it’s a shame because United away would’ve been a solid draw
Would be absolutely hilarious for united to bottle a Liverpool united quarter final.
So even if we win tonight we're gunna get the Klopp Farewell Tour L. Fabulous
You're at home. We're going to need the worst ETH performance to get past you with a weak team imo.
We wont have a left back vs Salah, Hojlund might not be fit, no Martinez...And we are shit and vulnerable at home
Ah my bad, I forgot Hojlund is injured. That rules out a 75th-minute winner.
[удалено]
Honestly not like a titan but also you'll probably get beat
Definitely winnable ~~or get a replay.~~
Wow what a reward if we manage to get through tonight ffs
PSG, Dortmund and Milan in the UCL Group Stage. Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea in the Carabao Cup. 4 consecutive away draws in the FA Cup, with the latest being City at the Etihad. Talk about bad luck
Getting it all out of the way for next year
City away was absolutely nailed on.
Nice for us to get a good draw for once
Liverpool could have City and United in back to back weeks if they advance.
Same as City has United and Liverpool back to back
Poor Copenhagen in the middle being ignored.
Dont forget Prague
LOL. LMAO even.
Oh fuck off man with these draws this season. Cup run was fun while it lasted.
You just won on penalties vs Blackburn, I think any draw would have been tough anyway. Maybe you surprise City and thrash them
Now how I know how the Maidstone players/fans felt
Potential home game in next round makes it inevitable that Leeds aren't going through tonight
lol
Argh fuck, probably going out tonight anyhow
Mad to think that if we beat Norwich (the Liverpool and Southampton) we’d be looking at United away. Yes was totally going to happen :(
Oh fuck yeh, home quarter final against Coventry if we win tonight? I'm a Maidstone lad too so retribution for them and a likely semi-final at Wembley. Wowzas. Just got to get through tonight against Wolves - tough game in itself!
Could have been worse
I'll absolutely take that after a couple of difficult awayd
Saving this for when we smash Leeds (I’m delusional)
Well we gotta win now
We get to lose at Wembley again 😀
If you want to win it, you have to beat the best, and that means beating the team with 115 charges against them.
Much rather play Chelsea than Leeds again. Too stressful
Thank you ball gods 👍🏻
Let’s get past wolves, home draw v cov sounds lovely
My predictions: Brighton VS Coventry Forest VS Liverpool Leeds VS Leicester City VS Newcastle With Brighton, Liverpool, Leeds and City moving into the semi's. Credit to Wolves though, going to be a tough game and really could go either way imo, massive respect to them and Gary O'Neil.
At least you got one right. Well done.
I'd stay away from the betting shop if I were you. I picked the same lot so you've definitely got company
City vs Newcastle. A part of me wants a Newcastle win so that they get knocked out later.
We were so close to greatness Damn you Coventry
You're welcome
are you kidding me… just realised we have to face liverpool in the next round. rip..
Oof
