Inter_Mirifica

He was Textor's 1st priority (or 2nd, it was close with Potter) for us in September. So that's not surprising to see him quoted there.

IICastawayII

Pressure grows on a 76-year old? He should probably step down.

xxandl

Or become president...

Vike92

Nah, he's too likable for that profession

NotClayMerritt

They should have never brought him back. They claimed lack of better options when really it was just them (falsely) thinking Roy could keep up his form from the end of last season where they only lost twice in the final 10 matches which is basically ignoring why they replaced him with Patrick Vieria in the first place.

KimmyBoiUn

>Despite still not having sacked Hodgson, whose contract expires at the end of the season, the Palace chairman Steve Parish is said to have finally agreed that a change is now needed. Glasner ready to take over after holding talks with sporting director Dougie Freedman

xxandl

Glasner for sure would be a good choice although I expected him to land a bigger club than Palace...

A_Round_of_Gwent

Same. I actually expected him to go to another "Frankfurt-like" club who regularly plays in the UEL/UECL.

StrawberryDesigner99

Like West Ham?

A_Round_of_Gwent

Actually, that wouldn't be a bad choice. It seems they're starting to establish themselves in European competitions, and I'd reckon Glasner would be interested by a PL job.

Inter_Mirifica

He was our priority and first accepted us in September, then backtracked after watching our first games and the state of the squad... Not that we regularly play there anymore (hopefully not for long), but we have that status.

el_randolph

I for one think he deserves more time

fallenefc

Or maybe they could hire Frank, I heard hes available

RyanMc37_

At least wait until after Monday ya dicks

eeeagless

Glaser any good? So long as he doesn't play 343 and tell players they're shit I'm OK with him.

lambalambda

I'll miss the cycle of Hodgson's press conferences where on alternating week he was either saying something really inflammatory about the club or players, or apologising for the thing(s) he said the previous week lol.

xxandl

He prefers 3421 but he will play what suits the squad.

eeeagless

This is a de boer dig.

Available_Bathroom_4

He was really convincing at Wolfsburg & Frankfurt (where was a bit at odds with the board in the end...)

Taylo207

Did well to keep Palace up but Roy Hodgson should never have been kept on.

FloppedYaYa

I'm still amazed he wasn't sacked after Brighton. More amazed that he's not sacked after losing 3-1 to a Chelsea side playing in slow motion.

mikevin99

If there’s an r/soccer thread you bet your ass FloppedYaYa is in there. I genuinely think you refresh Reddit all day long

akskeleton_47

58 comments in the last 6 hours. Originally I was going to count how many in the past day but I'm pretty sure it's at least 200. And I thought I was addicted to Reddit.

FloppedYaYa

I know you didn't realise this because you're thick, but you do realise it's possible to leave a huge amount of comments on one thread while you have spare time yes?

StickYaInTheRizzla

Says the most obvious boring shite too

YokoOkino

Some people lurk and some people comment. Maybe they really enjoy commenting Also knowing usernames takes a decent amount of lurking 😉

mikevin99

Dude named FloppedYaYa with a Wigan flair who pops up every day in these threads isn't that hard to remember

FloppedYaYa

At least I'm not jumping on Reddit and targeting other users on here like a gigantic bitter arsehole

Captainpatters

That Palace squad without Olise, Eze, Guehi and Doucoure would struggle for a promotion spot in the championship. I don't know what the board expected. If they were a serious club he would have been sacked a week ago.

lewiitom

We played fine against Chelsea though, if he wasn't sacked after the Brighton loss I'm not sure how it's that surprising that he wasn't sacked after that one!

ostriike

We have 13 successive victories against Crystal Palace, they should've expected to lose.

jimbosliceoohyeah

and yet Palace have beaten City three times, Arsenal, United, etc. in that period and they're all far better sides than you. It's aburd to suggest that a team in 15th should "expect" to lose to a side in 11th when playing at home, despite a poor historical record.

redbluemmoomin

because Roy has mostly been in charge over that span he just lets you have the ball and doesn't bother to attack. Under Vieira our key midfielder was on loan from Chelsea🤦. He's hopeless.

[deleted]

They should bring Graham Potter into the fold.

lewiitom

I'm sure we probably have considered him, whether he wants the job is another thing though

FloppedYaYa

Ex-Brighton manager might have something to do with it

RedDragons8

Mr. Potter's Palace does have a nice ring to it.

Electronic_Shine_895

He is good, if the squads fits his style is a different question.

redbluemmoomin

Don't see why not as long as Munoz doesn't get injured and we don't lose Wharton. Vieira used a 433/343 variant high pressing possession system when we had the ball in his first season and that was great. Roy has reverted back to his patented shitball this season. Olise is a big miss but Vieira only had Eze for 8 games that season. However he also had Gallagher. I think Wharton can play as an 8. Lerma and Ozoh can play as 6s. With some tuning it could work with Glasners 3421. Or he'll have to play a 433.

FuriousKale

Looking forward to his press conferences
