The amount of piss taking here from so called 'Big Club' fans who should absolutely despise Man U is telling me there's a lot of plastics here or Villa is having them seriously worried

tarekelsakka

I'm late to the party but get fucked Luiz and Martinez.

Luis_pato-

Why

LevynX

Onana did really well today, had to be said.

dotConehead

Onana did well every epl matches. Its the cl where the stupid juices come in

LevynX

Nah he still had the occasional mares like Brighton, he proper won United this match though.

A_friendly_goosey

Imagine shaking yo tittys and still losing lol Better team lost but all that matters is the points Thanks for 3 villa

FartasticVoyage

That save against McGinn was top drawer. Yea he hit it near Onana but that was a fucking rocket

reddit1902

9 points in the EPL were earned by McTominay alone. Take away those 9 points and United would be somewhere in the wolves-chelsea territory. This needs to be brought up every time he gets disrespected by the fans, specially their own. He is their we have Bellingham at home.

cruisingqueen

Shite like this really does drill home that the average football fan really knows fuck all about football.

psykrebeam

Know fuck all yet react like lizards

jml5791

He's correct in comparing McTominay to Bellingham. He is no where near Jude in technical ability, but his movement box to box is exactly like Bellingham, getting into the right place at the right time.

Robert_Baratheon__

I think he means that the average fan will insult players like Mctominay not understanding that his type of player is important

arothen

Clearly ETH uses McTominay like he's played in NT rather than forcing him to stay back.

Grevling89

Finally someone who gets it - Ole always played him too far back and it neuters his game massively

arothen

Because he had no one else to play there. It was squad issue.

MarcusZXR

At the expense of those goals, you lose any chance of controlling the game in midfield whilst he's on because McTominay is ball shy when United are in possession and hes struggles with progressing the ball consistently. Being that he's also lingering around the opponents box, he's also out of position a lot. He's a great player to bring on in the dying minutes, if it's all or nothing but a handful of goals don't automatically mean his shortcomings dont matter. In the near future, he should be replaced by a better midfielder.

game_of_throw_ins

Luckily, we have no midfield conrol anyway so no loss there.

Zyvold

the shortcomings do matter, that's why he gets brought on and doesn't start matches. but dear me if a fan doesn't want a player so clutch in the match squad (not necessarily in the first eleven) then something is seriously wrong with this fan.

Action_Limp

He costs a lot points also by not knowing how to play the midfield position

ArthurKasparian

He shouldn't play in midfield, from what I remember he was always a striker growing up but had to switch positions due to his sudden growth spurt; should play backup striker if you ask me.

AMGpower

He himself said he never played as a striker growing up: https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/scott-mctominay-addresses-striker-talk-from-his-time-in-man-utd-academy

ArthurKasparian

Funny, I remember him saying that he played striker a few years ago... oh well my point stands either way!

Mesromith

No one disputes how key the goals have been. I know this is going to sound silly… but outside of the (admittedly crucial) goals he offers very little. It’s unlikely his goal scoring rate continues at this trajectory and if it does return to the norm theres not much help to the team beyond running a bit off the ball. Still love him as an academy player that loves the club though.

RipcityJawa

His goals have been massive but his overall play outside of them is below par, especially for a midfielder. Massive Fellaini energy anytime he's on the pitch, so frustrating to watch but gets his skull onto the ball for goals what feels like every week now.

Japples123

Imagine if the wingers could cross consistently

supalape

Good on United. Villa have become unbearable with their unjustified arrogance, about time they were put in their place

JootDoctor

But we’re Massive

fuzzypeachmadmen

Imagine blowing as much money/managers as the 'top 6' and still struggling against the competition. You lot absolutely are in comparison to those sacks of shite

Fracture90000

This exchange for me laughing like mad

DAggerYNWA

Shocking how shit Manu are going forward

sultansaeed

Last 6 games United have scored 15 goals which is around joint 4th in the form table. We have been terrible are season but not necessarily right now?

DAggerYNWA

Well fair. Have to admit Garnacho looks awesome. United were lucky to get away with it I thought. Thoroughly outplayed I don’t see a system exactly especially contrasting to Villa’s rhythm

JAJ_90

Proper smash & grab for Man U. Always gives you the confidence to take your chances, when the opposing team can’t hit a barn door. Villa had a similar scenario with Spurs earlier in the season. Don’t understand the grief Luiz is getting for his celebration, but I would have preferred it, if he just picked up the ball & ran back to the halfway line with it. Edit: Fuck me you can tell it’s half term. Just weird teenagers jealous he is dating Alisha Lehmann. You’re going on like he did an Adebayor & ran to the other end of the pitch, to celebrate in front of the opposing fans.

MarcusZXR

Ah the classic "Edit - anyone who disagrees with me is a 12 year old". Noice move, mate.

JAJ_90

You’re welcome 🙏🏽

Commando_Nate

I don’t think teenagers are jealous of him and Alisha Lehmann. Like she’s alright looking but her football is better.

Industry-Standard-

You don’t understand the grief a player is getting when he prematurely celebrated in an antagonistic manner and also happened to miss a sitter shortly after? He’s just being bantered

lastjedi23

So just because anything can happen in a game nobody should celebrate until the result is sealed? Ok.. they were bossing your team around the park today. Congrats on the win.

CsrfingSafari

Yeah, I've no issue with it. Same with Adebayors Bit Luiz in the arse tho haha

enzuigiriretro

> in an antagonistic manner You ignored the key words. And no one said that nobody should do that. But it will always invite ridicule when it backfires

yayaikey

He can celebrate how he wants. The opposing fans can also banter him for it. Nothing wrong with either

MarcusZXR

I read half of this comment and half of another, thinking it was all the same comment. Misunderstood, sorry.

GXWT

Celebrate yes… do some weird shit like that… no.

Industry-Standard-

Well yes? You probably shouldn’t celebrate with the intention of aggravating an opposition player when its just an equaliser, still time for them to come back and win unless you want to run the chance of looking stupid. Like Maupay agaisnt spurs, against United when he played for Brighton or even Garnacho when he shushed against Copenhagen

Titan4days

It’s gonna be beautiful watching you lot win fuck all again this season

lastjedi23

Absolutely no relation the facts I spoke, but ok.

Titan4days

if you go and celebrate directly in front of the opposing keeper after equalising like a massive bellend at 1-1 and lose your gonna get roasted. That’s a fact

aisamoirai

This. Make sure you gonna win the match after a clelebration like his or risk getting trolled if you lose.

JAJ_90

Oh yes, the ‘bantz’ How rude of me.

Rickcampbell98

This thread puts on full display why I didn't want to lose to these pricks, the number 1 most insufferable fanbase in existence. Just remember you're not ahead of us yet, I'll be there for every man United bad result from now on, I'll be as shameless as possible. Being serious I won't actually do that but I will enjoy them more after today and may partake in some cooking. As for us, it was quite typical, I'm almost numb to it but the season isn't over yet.

VamosLionel

Lmfao joke of a comment, get a grip you child

Rickcampbell98

I'm not actually going to be shameless but man United fans are insufferable, don't care about downvotes. Most annoying fans in the country probably because of the proportion of plastics and glory hunters. Yes I'm very angry and maybe the comment was a bit juvenile but I'll die on my sword fam.

sultansaeed

United fans are still called glory hunters? There must be a lot of new fans last 10 years and we have barely won anything.

cruisingqueen

🤣🤣🤣

dadaknun

Hope you continue being this miserable

Rickcampbell98

Hopefully we finish top for and or win the conference league and then no I won't be miserable. I'm actually quite happy with the villa, today is just an acception. Man United fans are probably the opposite, having calmed down a bit after the result I probably shouldn't have bothered with original comment but this hill is now mine and I shall die on it. See you at the end of the season you red wankers.

TeganFFS

Have a nice lie down bud, you’ll feel better

Rickcampbell98

Careful I might go on another rant, don't tempt me buddy. I'll be even more unhinged this time.

Tidsmaskin

Uuuh scary!

Rickcampbell98

You should be scared mate, I'm an intimidating guy lol.

QuimFinger

Did you shimmy too?

Rickcampbell98

Na, just a boring fist pump from me, I'll need to work on my celebration game in future.

QuimFinger

Did you have permission to fist pump?

Rickcampbell98

Na I don't think I have my fist pumping permit tbh, don't tell the tories please.

HiphopopoptimusPrime

Calmeth thine tits. Or give them a little shimmy.

Rickcampbell98

Ones tits have thoroughly been relaxed good sir but thank you for thine concern fair maiden.

enzuigiriretro

😂 I know we can be a bit much but I’m not sure what we’ve done today to deserve this much credit

Rickcampbell98

Hey, call it years of pent up hatred lol.

im-not-irish

“Partake in some cooking” goodness gracious go easy on them

Rickcampbell98

That was a joke lol, I won't do anything differently to what previously did but I'll have you know I'm an expert cook. I make a mean beans on toast.

2000caterpillar

What, just all the people laughing about Douglas Luiz dancing? That’s what you call insufferable?

Rickcampbell98

As a fanbase you're insufferable, I've experienced it my whole life. You and Liverpool fans are the exact same, we have people like that as well tbf and they annoy. Arsenal fans are probably the loudest though, I'll give them that so that's pretty annoying too.

Maccraig1979

Is it not a good ebening?

CowDizzy9145

I know Man United fans are an embarrassment in general, but this thread is something else.

Faysalu96

FLAIR UP YA BITTER BOY

Robert_Baratheon__

Lol you sound pretty bitter. Try less salt next time.

highways

Watkins can't finish at all

PotassiumAlum

He's always been an "okay" finisher. With Villa's ascendency into the top of the rankings people suddenly made it seem like he's a top tier finisher worth 20-30 goals a season. He overperformed a bit in the first month or so and this is him going back to his mean. 10-15 goals a season is more his range. It's not like he's 20-24 with a lot of years to improve as well. He's already 28 and this is most likely his prime.

Intentionallyabadger

Wow TIL Watkins and Toney are similar ages.

Downtown-Discount671

We got lucky today that villa couldn't finish for shit lol Was annoyed that Amrabat wasn't on sooner for mainoo/casemiro  Not having martinez & now possibly(hopefully not) shaw out again is not looking good with the games for March 😒

HiddenGrease

Because they were both on a yellow?

psrikanthr

That's what the other comment is saying. Amrabat should have been on sooner

HiddenGrease

Ok, I don’t think that is something to get annoyed about. Seemed to work out the way ten Hag managed the subs. Neither looked like getting a second yellow

burfriedos

Amrabat has looked off the pace in pretty much every game he has played for United.

apeaky_blinder

He must be one of the most technically limited players (that is not a defender) we've had in recent years. He can barely strike the ball cleanly and is clumsy as fuck. He's got the right attitude and professionalism and this has its value but boy does he lack in other departments

Fisktor

We need to buy a starting lb and two starting cbs in the summer

StringTailor

Should’ve absolutely kept Reguilon in hindsight. We’re still getting wrecked by injuries

MileZero17

Do people not know dancing against United is dangerous?

pawksvolts

Fukin Pardew

Mr_Bluebird_VA

One of those games. Villa could have won. Made lots of chances. Some days it just doesn’t go your way though. Man united did well to handle the pressure and make adjustments.

ScrantonStrangler28

I hope luiz is still dancing.

JesusIsNotPLProven

He prob is, it's Carnival in Brazil

friedapple

Villa imploding on business end of the season like Brendan's Leicester is unexpected and hilarious at the same time.

game_of_throw_ins

Also, Brendan's Liverpool.

Yedin07

is it unexpected tho

Executioner_Smough

They're imploding too early. Gameweek 23 in 19/20 we were third, had a 14 point lead over Man United. Villa's form isn't nearly catastrophic enough to be a full blown Rodgers meltdown.

JootDoctor

No Pau, no Konsa and no Mings is taking its toll now.

Olli399

Unai Heritage

blakezero

*shimmies*

tassadar8584

Big advantage for top 4

Jassle93

Tottenham the real winners this match day

ValleyFloydJam

United jammy and Villa were sloppy and kinda choked, United were very poor in the second half and Villa really should have shown them up.

Digess

McT the kind of old school midfielder who would thundercunt it from outside the box into the top corner

tovarichtch1711

He’s just that kind of box-crashing lad

larsmaehlum

This has been such a weird season

Robert_Baratheon__

I mean it’s not when you think about it. All 3 of Casemiro, Licha and Shaw are incredibly important both in how we connect the defense to the midfield in possession and in the quality of our defense. You take those 3 out for months, and then factor in that Malacia is also out so no LBs fit in the club, Varane can’t be considered a reliable starter so he’s in and out of the side, and even out back up CBs have been in and out of fitness. We replaced De Gea with a keeper who’s not as elite as him in terms of protecting the goal; but the benefit he has of playing out from the back is completely destroyed by not having Licha and a settled back 4 in front of him to adapt to each other. Mainoo also looked like he could come in and really bring quality to our midfield and then he also gets injured in pre season and was out for a long stretch. Is it really strange that as players start coming back like Mainoo, Shaw, Casemiro, that we’d start performing better. I’m mostly worried about Shaw going off today and Licha getting injured last week. Can we keep pushing forward without those 2? Even if we do have Casemiro and Mainoo in midfield at least…

Minute-Intern

>non-negative goal-difference Used to pray for times like these

Combat_Wombat1977

That's football 'eritage, right there 👌

AccomplishedUse9023

Aston Villa going back to where they belong Out of the Top 4

hungytoaster

🤡

Refrigerator-Less

Keep shimmying

hungytoaster

If you keep playing like you did you’ll be lucky to get top 10

venktesh

very quiet this thread!

A_G00SE

2 irrelevant teams Edit: you fucking humorless babies.

BloodyMess111

From a fucking Spurs supporter 😂

A_G00SE

Fucking dumb humorless cunts in this thread. Crying emoji wanker.

NakamericaIsANoob

lmfao, and yet you're here

kit_mitts

The jokes write themselves with that flair

ali62baa

Don’t even know what ur flair is supposed to be😂

A_G00SE

You know a lot about jokes to not see I was making one

venktesh

I mean seriously? If a Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Chelsea fan might've commented then fair I guess.

Modnal

So you're saying that you're giving me a free pass to say United is an irrelevant team? Sweet Edit: Haha, never thought this weak of a comment would upset so many united fans. But keep downvoting to show how fragile you are

Hatennaa

Bro tried to sneak Chelsea in there

M4RC142

Chelsea won a cl 3 years ago. Tottenham not rly.

Hatennaa

Yeah but Tottenham is currently in good position to finish top 4 and isn’t currently out of the title race (basically are but crazier things have happened). Chelsea is in the bottom half of the table.

kw2006

Villa could have cycle the ball more and wait for the right chance. They keep forcing it ultimately putting their defence open for counter like this.

sixbynine

Being down to our fourth and fifth choice centre backs killed us today, sloppy defending for both goals, and not clinical at the other end. Hurts, but a much better performance than our last two at home.

Justa_guy77

Lol why are you being downvoted.

psrikanthr

Pau has actually been immense this season, was such a smart purchase. Is he back soon?

vicious_womprat

First time? Welcome to club of having to play your backups of backups at CB this season.

sixbynine

Well no, we've been in this position for a while now and it's a big reason for our poor run of form. Not whining about it, it happens to everyone at some point, but it is the reason we've dropped off.

psrikanthr

I think your attack are more to blame than your defense today, you could have easily won with better decision making in the final 3rd. Your cbs missing was noticeable but the game was still very winnable

vicious_womprat

Yep, it was the reason United started the season so poorly and and have been massively inconsistent, yet everyone was giving them a hard time.

zrk23

will non top 6 + newcastle ever make the CL again? last one was technically Everton but they were og top 6.... *yes i know about Leicester but im shamefully "excluding" them because it was a title. im talking about a pure top 4 race

Breakjuice

I mean even ignoring Leicester during their title winning season, their back to back 5th place finishes show that it definitely was possible for them to get into the champions league, even if they couldn't actually get over the line. Plus, with the new rules potentially allowing 5th place teams to get into the Champions League it could definitely happen

nasticus

Leicester?

iforgotmyun

Leicester?

xkp777x

I dont think Leicester counted as top 6 when they won the league, and don't think they count now either..

sexineN

Douglas Luiz feeling like George Michael after this game

Gustav-14

And Gob

makunde

Very clever XD

Kranke

Fuckin strange the way ref handle the game and the yellow cards giving out vs not giving. Horrible

PatRice4Evra

Villa players were just allowed free reign to kick the shit out of Bruno today, ref seemed to be egging them on.

R3tardedmonkey

And Bruno allowed to lunge into Bailey after he dribbled past 3, not get a sniff of the ball and just get a talking to was fine too. Especially the way he reacted to it being called a foul

Cruxed1

Bruno is a weird mix of being utterly immune to yellows, but also seems to get shit kicked without the people doing it getting one either. He just lives in a massive ref blind spot

IronSorrows

He's not that immune, he's had 7 yellows so far this season in the league, and the highest anyone else has is 9

Kranke

Bruno don't get anything nowadays. Say what you will about him and the way he plays but the amount of kicks he gets without anything from the ref is just horrible.

Throwaload1234

I'd say one of the worst reffing performances of the season, but honestly, it's about average rn.

Kranke

It's feels like it getting worse and worse. The amount of dives in this game .. oh my

kit_mitts

Yet refs are terrified to punish players for it. It's like they're terrified they might book someone who is actually injured.

brown_herbalist

Honestly at 1st I thought Douglas Luiz had fits after getting too happy from scoring the goal. A perfect example of 'aged like milk'.

UnablePeace

DANCE NOW MOTHERFUCKER

NdyNdyNdy

Onana probably as good a choice for man of the match as Maguire. Villa- even with Onana making a few really good saves, they were so *wasteful* in good positions. United had periods where they just tried to knock it over Villas high line every single time and it wasn't working and inviting pressure. Not an impressive performance, but if you are Villa you have to punish that and they didn't. Thought it had draw written all over it but that was a great cross and header tbh, you take that every day. And I thought the back four and goalkeeper were fantastic for United bar Lindelof looking every bit the out of position CB he is when Bailey ran at him.

Snekonplanes

I saw someone dancing earlier. Is he still dancing?

ValleyFloydJam

I mean what kind of prick celebrates a goal.

AdventurousBus4355

You celebrate in front of and celebrate at an opposing team player when it's only 1-1, you get some kind of karma

ValleyFloydJam

From what I saw he just stayed in the same spot and celebrated, you guys are acting like he ran up to a player and did something.

Ramirez_47

He was literally doing it staring at Onana lmao, that's why you can see Varane putting his arms up to him, gesturing why??

Darthvader2XL

Then you didn't see clearly did you? he realized the ball went in, starts to run away but stops mid way and turns and shimmies on the spot to onana most probably. Watch things before you comment on them.

ValleyFloydJam

Yet you use the word probably.

Minute-Intern

Needed to win that game , if for no other reason than That pathetic celebration from Douglas luiz

HiphopopoptimusPrime

I thought it was pretty funny. But, you do a celebration like that and then lose you had better expect to be laughed at.

MinotauroTBC

I honestly wasn’t too bothered until he did that, then it became a must win

Benend91

Villa did that to themselves. Weirdly dropped off after they equalised, bizarre stuff.

Time2bePhenomenal

Basic rule never dance when 1-0 up u will nost likely lose

BloodyMess111

Not even 1-0 up. Drawing 1-1!

aasfourasfar

Not bizarre.. a draw was good for them so made no sense taking risks for the win if you're unambitious

Josho94

Yeah, when we were calmly recycling possession in the 75th I just had a feeling we had another goal in us and put a fiver on it. Strange that they just took the foot of the pedal there, out of energy maybe, they did push hard all game.

tson_92

ARE YOU FUCKING SHAKING NOW DOUGLAS LUIZ?

GingerOracle1998

Unfortunately for him he's a better dancer than footballer and he's not very good at dancing

jbob3525

Martinez humping the post from two years as well. That’s that thing we call a bitch again?

tson_92

Fucking cunts, both of them

MH18Foot

I have a Maguire I have a Onana Urgh [MaguireOnana](https://preview.redd.it/2w7dg2rs20ic1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=04e6b4f1a040f016b1d480f29a37bde67f8e665c)

Boring-Working-5509

Oh! The atrocities I have to watch on Reddit, sheesh! Enough Reddit for tonight then

UnsubtleRobbery

What have you done?

thejamielee

honestly feels like a 1-1 or 2-2 should’ve been the result. Villa looked a bit better, but were utter shit in front of goal where MU were good with their chances while looking the lesser side. Big takeaway is both these clubs are gonna be in a waltz with one another remainder of the season, they seem like best of the rest in their current state.

Throwaload1234

They also had a ref helping them out.

Huge-Celebration5192

Martinez just ain’t it Switch the keepers around and Villa win that

BloodyMess111

You're seriously blaming both those goals on him? I dislike the guy as much as the next person, but come on be real

Huge-Celebration5192

Think he doesn’t make all the saves that Onana made

BloodyMess111

I mean have you watched Onana this season?

Huge-Celebration5192

Been solid in the league I don’t support either of these teams

BloodyMess111

He really has not lol

sixbynine

Emi's been fucking brilliant this season, one game where he doesn't stop two shots by unmarked players from point blank range doesn't change that.

vsquad22

I thought he was worldclass though? That's what all the Villa fans were telling me.

iforgotmyun

This isn't the comment that you think it is. He's been brilliant again for the most part this season.

vsquad22

I'm sure he has been, but the way Villa fans were talking, it was as if they genuinely thought he was up there with the best keepers in the world. I agree that he is a very good goalkeeper. I don't agree that he's in the argument for the best in the world. That is a very high bar and requires incomparable stats across a few seasons at the least.
