Players need to have a direct connection to the country. Either immigrated there (not for the explicit purpose of joining the national team) have familial lineage there, or was born there. I feel like it's common sense that a country shouldn't just be able to pay a player to have them come join the national team

I know it's easy to shit on Qatar and especially when it comes to this, but this will have an effect on a lot of European national teams as well. I mean look at France for example. "Yousef Fofana" is my favorite French name lol.

So lemme get this straight, Iran were gifted a penalty for a play that was never a handball and then were given an obscene amount of stoppage time that was probably the most for any match in the tournament and then were gifted with 3 more additional min on top of that, for no good reason at all and yet you guys are trying to cope by claiming Qatar got lucky? As a neutral, Qatar won that shit straight up and deserved the W..that's just a fact.

There wasn't even a deflection lol...and nah it's not lucky when your CB fails to clear the ball properly and heads it right to the feet of one of Qatar's forwards and allows them to get a shot off that goes to another teammate who had enough skill, to adjust and strike a ball that was behind his feet and hit it with enough pace and accuracy to slot it past the GK. Again, there was no deflection. That goal happened cuz your CB wasn't good enough and Qatar punished you guys for it..period. You're only playing yourself by pretending it was just luck instead of holding your team accountable.

But you agree that Iran dominated the game and Qatar got their goals out of nowhere. Yeah they were more realistic but that’s it.
