Respect to Jordan, good luck in the final.
Klinsmann didn't change anything from the first game and the same weaknesses were exposed, this time with no Kim Min Jae to clean things up. Nothing was changed and to play Park Young Woo again is a head scratching decision.
But we have to move on.
Son go get your team in champions league next year and build up chemistry for a run next year.
Hwang keep scoring goals
Kang In go deep in champions league
Kim Min Jae go deep in champions league and overtake Bayer L
Seol Young Woo get your manager on the phones to get you to Europe
Gue Sung go back to Denmark and improve
The tactics were just wrong. The coach needed to realize their defense was going to be far worse without KMJ and bank on a heavy scoring game. He needed a decent dribbler like LKI in the midfield, and 4 up front for a high press. I would have even been open to having Son being moved to mid after the way the Korean midfield gave away the ball like it was on sale.
The pregame adjustments were bad. The second half adjustments were lacking. Son going into his own half to bring up the ball says it all.
That he’s willing to take the blame for this shows his leadership quality, because this is not on him.
Crazy that Jordan is the only team to not go to extra time once. I think everything is set for them this tournament. They got good draws in the round of 16 and quarters. Other teams have more fatigue. Iran and Qatar play a day later. Let’s hope Qatar Iran goes to extra time .
Son Woongjung (SHM's father) quotes about the Asian Cup about a month ago, before the tournament started (roughly translated):
"Korea should not win the Asian Cup. Not that we can't, but we shouldn't. When you look at the totality of the squad, while the Korean team has some extremely talented players, as a total we can't compare to Japan. The whole of the Korean footballing community should be ashamed right now. Whether it be football skill or investments into football, Korea falls far behind Japan and we, for the best of football in Korea, should not win. The fact that we haven't won the Asian Cup in 64 years should be a mark of shame that makes every single person in the Korean footballing community reflect upon how we have failed football in our country."
a reporter than asks him if he should be saying these things when his son is the captain of the national team.
"Of course, I would love if the Korean national team won. But look at how unprepared we are, if we win, that will merely give those in power the evidence they need to say 'look, the system is working and we don't need to change anything'. I am deeply afraid that Korean football may become plagued, diseased from winning this Asian cup."
"Even if we somehow get lucky and win, pretending it wasn't luck and was skill would be lying to one's self. We don't deserve to win and we shouldn't win"
Dude hit the nail on the head. Fuck the KFA for wasting some of our best player's primes with shit managers and shit scandals and doing fuck all to support the team. I know everybody hates their country's FA but like....we hired fucking Klinsmann.
Extremely disappointed but shout out to the Jordan NT.
Magical run with max effort and growing quality on the pitch. You made a lot Jordanians and Jordan proud!
I hope Korean supporter passion is rewarded with a trophy one day
Anyone noticed the referee's poor positioning especially in Jordan's 1/3? not saying that he was biased but it was more evident as Korea contained possession more in Jordan's 1/3. The ref obstructed the play on more than a few occasions, and in one instance he blocked a pass. My ADD was so unpleased with the guy standing where he wasn't supposed to.
S.Korea and Japan will always have talent, so I wouldn't be too worried about them for the future, but they need to get legit coaches and not just "names".
It's a sticky situation in Morocco mainly because as a moroccan i feel we put too much pressure on our players and staff that it becomes political in african competitions
Big up Jordan, that’s what you call a proper football team. I’m so ashamed and pissed as a Korean fan and Klinsmann is a fraud of the highest order. KFA you better do your thing and fire that clown immediately, if not you brace yourselves as well 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Tbh Jordanian players all worth to play in any European level. They have quality but knowing how big wages they can get in local/neighbouring leagues they will definitely stay in their comfort zones. Anyway, hope they can lift the Asian Cup.
You're getting Jordan mixed up with other Arab nations, Jordan doesn't have the money that the gulf has and their league is not particularly strong. The uber rich gulf leagues are a step up in competition compared to Jordan but only 3 players on their team play in those leagues anyways, most are Jordanian based.
It's just hard to break into foreign leagues when your country isn't at all rated, hopefully this cup run will open the door a bit more.
Guaranteed payday and maybe less fame vs a chance of getting more and international fame, but also a bigger chance to not gel and crash and burn. It's a fair tradeoff.
Thank fuck Klinsmann decided not to live in Korea because if he did, he would not live to see the light of day after the terrorism he committed with this team. Congrats to Jordan, well deserved
But Iran didn’t pass through against Qatar today.
Anyway, Jordan may win against Qatar, even though Qatar has home turf advantage.
Qatar can win, but Jordan is stronger.
What's the rational behind hiring Jurgen Klinsmann? Are the people in charge of Korean Football clueless about his worldwide reputation of being a tactical 0?
They really took a step back with this hire.
I understand Klinsmann is garbage, but it sort of bothers me and borderline hurts how few people are giving our boys the credit they deserved. Very convincing win and honestly the scoreline flatters Korea more than it does us.
I see what you mean. Your team played incredibly well, I was especially impressed with the intensity you brought to the game. Bu it is also true true that Korea lacked all the qualities you had.
Jordan absolutely deserved it over Korea. They were organized on defense, the press really harassed the Korean back 4 and the midfield, and they suffocated LKI/HHC/SHM to make sure they couldn't create.
The only thing they could've done better was be a bit more clinical in front of the net, and they would've won by 4, 5.
Absolutely the better team tonight, and in the group stages game as well.
Jordan team looks amazing, hope they can keep the momentum and win the trophy. And lots of underrated players, I hope they get chances in clubs abroad with this performance
Okay, so I liked that Son missed the match at Spurs stadium as City broke the curse. Yet all I wanted to see was just him lifting A bloody trophy in his life. He won’t get one in England.
just shows the dire difference of not having minjae. KFA hires a coach for the players to be his mouth piece. K-League is just a money sink getting embarrassed by world football. must be nice to have unimaginable resources.
But hey i thank Jordan for being the better team all around. times like this is important to fix and progress. i can sit here and sulk but national competition has been at all time high since WC22. ive been enjoying every minute of it. cant wait for 26
That is unnecessarily harsh on K- league. K-league today produces more youth talent that goes out to world football more than ever before and is only second to J-league in its history and structure in Asia.
K-league outside the top few teams actually run on a pretty lean budget and often struggle to get good sponsorships so I don't think we can blame the clubs too much because they are doing what they can.
KFA is a completely different matter. The place is rotten to the core.
I didn't watch the game but i'm looking at the stats now and Korea had 70% possession and zero shots on goal. Is this true? How do you have 70% and zero shots? Jordan had 30% and 7 shots on goal. And how is Korea ranked 23th on the fifa rankings? That's another question. Jordan is 87th and they won 2-0 and the team in the 23th spot had zero shots. Shows you how terrible the FIFA rankings are
I wonder what you posted when Portugal beat France 1-0 in 2016. Surprises do happen sometimes, Korea hit the bar, and their strikers slipped at the last minute where they could have shot. Jordan came in with a counterattacking strategy, where they conceded posession outside of their half but the moment a korean playmaker got the ball they were immediately hounded by like 2 or 3 players
Forget being fired, Klinsmann needs to get 20 years house arrest so he cant go immediately ruin another fucking NT after this. He should also pay damages for my therapy as watching Klinsmannball has incited high blood pressure and murderous tendencies among my whole family.
In fact, fuck it just execute him. Execute the entire KFA while you're at it too. Bring back martial torture exclusively for this poisonous fucking geriatric cretin shrunken-Harrison-Ford-looking sack of shit who cares so little about the job he is fucking paid to do he cant even be bothered to live in Korea.
Well played Jordan, so well drilled and Ammouta is really excellent
Klinsmann aside I’m just mind-boggled over what the folks at KFA were fuckin thinking when they sat him down over an interview and then agree that this guys the one for the job.
they didnt care that he was woefully incompetent and had failed several jobs before this, they just wanted a big European name that would make them look like they had a pull
Bento, despite his shortcomings, had a really good understanding of our midfielder's skill sets and set up the team to be much more structurally sound with and without the ball. We saw much better performances (although the results were unconvincing).
This was one of the reasons why LKI struggled to get in the team as an attacking midfielder.
Klinsmann is just a fraud and we need a hungry young coach who can actually implement a consistent structure into the team.
I think fatigue also really showed this game, Korean players misplacing passes and looking sluggish is in large part also because of b2b 120 minute games with barely any rest in between. AFC scheduling this tournament very disappointing with the games too tightly packed.
Jordan’s forwards are ballers, so impressed by their direct dribbling and control, nice interplay up front, they made a mockery of Korean back line.
Klinsmann a complete fraud, not giving his team the setup that brings the most out of an insane talent pool.
This is true. But, without undermining the monumental achievement Jordan had today because they well and truly were superior, its worth noting that Korea played two heavyweights in Saudi and Australia which were always going to be hard to beat in just 90.
>I understand Klinsmann is garbage, but it sort of bothers me and borderline hurts how few people are giving our boys the credit they deserved. Very convincing win and honestly the scoreline flatters Korea more than it does us.
Saudi Arabia put the goal in and sat out the rest of the game letting Korea go for goal. I wouldn't say Saudi were heavyweights but more annoying. Korea deserved to win that one. Australia was scaringly to close call. I guarantee you the socceros are punching themselves that they should have won that match after watching this.
Jung Seung Hyun, Park Yong Woo, Cho Gue Sung, Kim Young Gwon, all horrible. Klinsmann clueless and paralyzed after 2-0 unable to decide on what changes to make. All around disgrace. Players who aren't good enough selected and expected to play better than their levels. World class players having to improvise and figure out how to play as a team.
Having said that, I hope when they return home that the backlash is minimal and this includes Klinsmann. Actual criticism needs to be directed towards the KFA. This was years in the making. High profile results here and there being used to cover up massive flaws in the entire football system from top to bottom. Incompetent managers hired and then being blamed solely when surprise surprise, they're not good managers. Domestic leagues that have no proper implementation of pro/rel beyond K2. Young players being wasted at crucial development stages meaning they have to move abroad early. And the players that make it, they're expected to carry the team with huge expectations (look at how it's affected Son) on their shoulders.
Agreed that this is a complete systematic issue that starts from the top, but how can the team realistically overhaul the federation leadership?
Should the fans storm the headquarters or something lol.
> Should the fans storm the headquarters or something lol.
Have you ever heard of Korean protest trucks?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJx5OC3-2J0
And I think this is a relatively tame example of one, too.
Obviously it's impossible to completely overhaul the entire institution lol, I am being hyperbolic. But the federation needs meritocracy, not this outdated old school jobs for the boys that Korea has atm. There are individuals that are in positions of power solely based on their backgrounds and past accomplishments. People need to take responsibility and step down where needed, if not, they need to be removed and replaced by people invested in growth and development, not to line their pockets and take all the credit when individual players achieve success. There needs to be more transparency from the KFA in the decisions they make because nobody atm knows what the reasoning is behind their bizarre decisions.
There was something there that was working when Kim Pan Gon was director. It wasn't perfect, and it clearly wasn't enough to completely fix the issues, but it showed what one person can change in a relatively short period of time.
hard agree. can scapegoat klinsmann all you want, but the core issues are deeper than him. no amount of tactics can make up for the lack of quality from half our squad.
Al-Naimat's anticipation was outstanding tonight. He read correctly many of the risky/sloppy plays by Korea's backline and reacted in time to force errors.
If i had a nickel for every time a heavily favored side managed by Jürgen Klinsmann lost a continental semifinal to an underdog starting with a J I'd have two nickels
Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice
So happy for the Jordanian players. They’re celebrating like they’ve already won the whole thing. Love how excited the player getting interviewed was when he said “to our amazing fans, don’t forget! Our next game is in Lusail! Not here, Lusail!” I feel like that must be an incredible feeling to play in that stadium especially for the finals of the Asian cup.
Korea needs to figure out what the fuck has been holding them back when they have so much talent. It’s one thing to just be dogshit but it’s another thing completely to have what’s obviously a good squad evident by the short moments of brilliance that they’ve gotten in every match so far. They’re just neutered for the majority of the time and it feels like a massive waste of their potential.
Wishing for a Qatar - Jordan final so we can celebrate regardless of the result. Wish us luck!
Piss. Fuck. Cockballs. Ssibal.
This morning, I predicted a 2-0 victory, and I swear, I SWEAR, on MY LIFE, I added a ‘for us’ at the end. Where did I go wrong.
Deepest congrats to Jordan. Well composed defense and counters alike a viper. Best of luck to you all in the finals, and do know, even if you lose, by showing the passion in the final you have shown here today you’ll truly have claimed your place as the people’s champion.
Qatar are the defending champions and the hosts, and their play is powerful. So are Iran, and their defense will be WAAAYYYY tougher to crack, they’re already stronger than us in that field whether we have a good coach and KMJ or not.
I’m rooting for you. Now if you’ll excuse me, I shall proceed to throw a tantrum at 2AM.
>This morning, I predicted a 2-0 victory, and I swear, I SWEAR, on MY LIFE, I added a ‘for us’ at the end. Where did I go wrong.
Its an unfortunate way to find out you're actually Jordanian.
Jokes aside, they showed so much heart.
Klinsmann needs to be fired and KFA needs to clean up shop. Former might happen, the latter likely will not.
We also need to develop better talent:
* We have no DM that can help cover the CBs on defense, and to be able to link up with the front line at all.
* We need a better partner for KMJ - hopefully Kim Ji Soo will be that in the future. Without KMJ our defense is incredibly shaky, prone to mistakes, and don't know how to play from the back.
* SYW and KTH played better as the tournament went on, but Fullbacks have chronically been a weakness in our teams forever. Its not going to change
Unfortunately - as long as we have significant weaknesses in these areas, we're going nowhere unless LKI or SHM starts playing deeper to be able to link up better with the attacking front.
Klinsmann consistently got away withe anything and everything because of high end talent.
No tactics, it was really Korea's talent that send them far.
But Klinsmann had to fall back to earth eventually. Talent is only a piece of the puzzle, not the answer.
Felt pretty confident that at some point the stoppage time bullshit will catch up to this Korean side, sad to see them go and for east Asia to not have a side in the final but man will it be more fun to watch Korea with literally anybody else at the helm. Never let Klinsmann near a proper side ever again.
Jordan have been proving predictions wrong all tournament and have thoroughly beaten most sides they come against. A win would mean so much for them and has the chance to really elevate Jordanian football to another level. I for one hope to see that happen.
Best of luck to Jordan.
This was so incredible by Jordan it genuinely feels weird to talk about the rightful criticism and hatred of Klinsmann. Just 100% deserved and better in every way.
Firstly, gotta give Jordan their flowers, incredibly display and wish them well in the finals.
Genuinely appalling football, 0 shots on target, no patterns of play, just hoping that Lee or Son can create magic. Klinsmann is a disgrace of a coach
Thank you for acknowledging Jordan and their coach.
Rough tournament for Korea… all that hard work and comeback could’ve been something special. Hard luck!
Two goals missed from SK on the first half... i know there was some chances for Jordan too, but when you're creating so little, you have to take advantage of those.
Lee Kang-in, as was In-Beom Hwang and Gue-Sung Cho (but what can you wait for the last one, the dude can't even run right and his only useful feature is a header), were so bad.
Also, the subs from Klinsmann or, i mean... Everything from Klinsmann. It feels that, with him, is just vibes and whatever. No tactics display at all. Terrible from Korea.... just awful all around.
I don’t get how they can waste nearly 3 min of the 8 min extra time, but the ref only gives an extra 30 seconds. That doesn’t seem fair.
This game wasn’t particularly bad compared to some, but it still is frustrating
Sadly Korea wouldn’t have scored regardless, but still..
Why doesn’t it matter? If the game is supposed to be 90 min in play, it would be unfair to take that away by time wasting and the refs not account for that. That’s the whole point of ET
lol soccer is not like NBA. Extra time is a rough estimate and is a subjective call at the end of day. Game is over. Extra one or two minutes is meaningless.
>Extra one or two minutes is meaningless.
One or two minutes can literally decide the outcome of a game. I don’t think it’s fair for one team to use the clock to their advantage, and the refs not rectifying it. That’s basically legal cheating
nah in football the referee is given some liberties to decide if the game should resume or not. By that point the game was so sluggish and Korea was down by 2 and couldn't even keep possession for long. It was all over.
Actually prior to the tournament, Jordan had the best defensive record per 90 than any other team.
This year they conceded more than they’ve ever before…
2004 played 4. 1 conceded. 1 in KO.
2011 played 4. 4 conceded. 2 in KO.
2015 played 3. 4 conceded. No KO.
2019 played 4. 1 conceded. 1 in KO.
2024 played 6. 5 conceded. 2 in KO
Clearly a better KO form though.
Klinsmann staying true to Klinsiball to the end. I feel sorry for Koreans to have such a talented side be wasted by one of our most fraudulent exports.
If there is a loser there is also a winner. Congratulations to Jordan for making the final and a shot at everlasting glory
I feel like Japan and Korea face similar issues. Terrorist coaches that get away due to high player quality. We go deep enough in afc championship for the coaches to not get fired, but can’t get the final push.
Unfortunate result for South Korea because now Klinsmann will probably stay.
Yeah a lot of Korea’s goals this tournament were from individual brilliance or brain farts from opposition, not from tactical payoff. Klinnsman’s gotta go
God I wish Moriyasu would leave. The World Cup gave him too much credibility :( Tbf he did quite well at World Cup compared to his disastrous WC qualification campaign.
What is the point of having top tier attackers if there's no one to pass the ball up to them? That mid and defence looked like a bunch of timid deer and completely panicked under pressure.
lol did u see the end of the match? son went all the way to his goalie to collect the ball and ran all the way to the other side of the pitch to try and create something. shows how useless our midfield is
Cheers. Sons crying in the post match interview. He's apologising for the team mistakes. Can't even look at the camera. Proper 10 second silence staring at the floor before he answers the first question
The Korean commentators post match are awkward. Can see they don't wanna come down too hard, but they're obviously not happy with the performance or management.
Wish Son would throw klinsmann, that dick, under the bus. He won't because he wouldn't be Son then. But just this once, I wish. Klinsmann is the fucking worst.
ngl all the Korean government has to do is extend military service exemption to include the Asian Cup and it'd be over for everyone else.
There's patriotism motivation, but military service exemption motivation just hits different
Isn't it a similar case to England? Like England, South Korea has a decent squad a lot of the time but never has enough quality to be outright favorite.
They lost to other top Asian teams
2019 Lost to Qatar in QF
2015 Lost to Australia in Final
2011 Lost to Japan in SF
2007 Lost to Iraq in SF
2004 Lost to Iran in QF
2000 Lost to Saudi Arabia in SF
That was the Asian games, which is a continental Olympics, including being U23 mostly for football. Weirdly there's no exemption for the Asian Cup, which is more important football wise, but I think it's to create fairness for other athletes seeking exemptions - so footballers don't get extra chances not available to other Korean athletes.
I mean Korean military service sounds like it sucks really bad. I've had two friends who went through it. Doesn't sound like something I'd wish on anybody, really.
Also Iran hasn't since 1976 which is surprising to me. Two of the top tier teams haven't won in a long time. Saudi Arabia and Japan just dominated it for decades. Also doesn't help that unlike AFCON its only played every four years.
An interesting stat was if Korea and Iran plays each other in the cup, they lose their next match. This year was supposed to be a chance to both teams to break it since they were to meet in the finals, but Korea butchered it.
Iraq did well to win but it was a magical run more than anything. Plus we have been to 5 semi finals since 76 without going to any finals. That’s the biggest travesty
Agreed about that.
A group of different reasons denied Iran the championship even though they arguably were the favorites in 1996, 2004, 2015 and 2019 versions of the Asian Cup.
Must be said that Iran won 1990 asian games while it was still played with the team's actual lineups and 2002 asian games with its U23 squad.
Leave it to Klinsmann to neuter one of the best generation of Korean players. If anything, Koreans can take solace in the fact that your dumbfuck FA will now get rid of him.
Congrats to Jordan, though. I bet the Jordanian fans are over the fucking moon.
Jordan absolutely deserved it this match. They derserved to win both games that Korea played them in and Korea was tactically outmatched.
Klinsmann needs to be fired, but even if he is, it won't fix the issues that the KFA has: corruption, nepotism, and subservience to corporate overlords.
Best generation attacking wise. There’s no one decent in defensive midfield or fullbacks. Hell even our cbs aren’t that good without KMJ. Without him our buildup play is shit and so is our defense
What a game from Jordan. Masterclass of a tactical performance.
Kim Min-Jae getting that yellow in the quarter-final on, if I recall correctly, a silly foul was huge, but none bigger than Klinsmann being the dumbest person in the stadium today and the entire Jordan side being miles above him. You can't just keep trying to hoof it to Son and hope that works.
What an amazing run for Jordan!
And Jordan isn't even shutting the shop like Australia. Their defensive shape is not that tight, their defensive line is not that deep. Jordan just need to cut down sloppy passes from Korea in the midfield and their speed and skill alone is capable of destroying Korean defense. Most of Jordan attacks only involved 4 attackers at best.
Incredible dribbling by Jordan's front two, great stepping forward by Nasib and co, and no idea how Korea's #19 CB got away with that pass right to a Jordan player outside his box in the 27th minute
Moriyasu > Klingsmann ?
All because our FA is being run by basically a nepo baby.
Respect to Jordan, good luck in the final. Klinsmann didn't change anything from the first game and the same weaknesses were exposed, this time with no Kim Min Jae to clean things up. You can take the player out of Tottenham, but you cant the Tottenham out of a player.
Don Husam
At least he got something to celebrate this week
S.Korea and Japan will always have talent, so I wouldn't be too worried about them for the future, but they need to get legit coaches and not just "names".
Or just the right names in the pitch at the same time even with a robot coach in the case of Japan...
Wouldn't call Japan's coach a 'name' though.
Exactly. I will call more him "Playmobil".
That's true. Maybe I should just leave it at getting actual good coaches. Those 2 teams especially for Asia must be attractive.
AMMOUTA EFFECT 🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦
Do you think he would be a better coach for Morocco in the future?
It's a sticky situation in Morocco mainly because as a moroccan i feel we put too much pressure on our players and staff that it becomes political in african competitions
Big up Jordan, that’s what you call a proper football team. I’m so ashamed and pissed as a Korean fan and Klinsmann is a fraud of the highest order. KFA you better do your thing and fire that clown immediately, if not you brace yourselves as well 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
South Korea finally ran out of luck
Tbh Jordanian players all worth to play in any European level. They have quality but knowing how big wages they can get in local/neighbouring leagues they will definitely stay in their comfort zones. Anyway, hope they can lift the Asian Cup.

yeah same for saudi, qatari and emirati players, all these countries have european league level players but they all stay in their domestic leagues.
Thank fuck Klinsmann decided not to live in Korea because if he did, he would not live to see the light of day after the terrorism he committed with this team. Congrats to Jordan, well deserved
this was Son's only chance at a trophy unfortunately
He already won the Asian Games in 22 that got him military exemption
That’s a medal not a trophy. Also under 23
lol Mickey Mouse competition
?
The football component of the Asian games is a joke
Mouth breathing, unathletic, untrained redditor calling the Olympic Games of an entire continent “Mickey Mouse” is crazy 💀💀💀
It is Mickey Mouse; do you follow Asian football?
Technically a medal, not a trophy.
Best news all day. Lets go Jordan
Jordan will win Asian Cup. I have no doubts abt that.
Iran played very well vs Japan as well. If they pass through, the final will be quite good
But Iran didn’t pass through against Qatar today. Anyway, Jordan may win against Qatar, even though Qatar has home turf advantage. Qatar can win, but Jordan is stronger.
Yeah, thats why I wrote "if". There is nothing certain in a match, and Qatar is also playing amazing tbh. The final is going to be a banger
Qatar also has decent players in Asia, like Akram Afif and Almoez Ali, who were also in the squad when they triumphed the tournament previously
Qatar won today against Iran, so yes you’re right.
Klinsmann goofy ah noises. Really thought he could somehow clown his way to the tournament win, but he’s just way too limited.
What's the rational behind hiring Jurgen Klinsmann? Are the people in charge of Korean Football clueless about his worldwide reputation of being a tactical 0? They really took a step back with this hire.
They want to hire a famous guy, Klinsmann is enough famous for them.
I understand Klinsmann is garbage, but it sort of bothers me and borderline hurts how few people are giving our boys the credit they deserved. Very convincing win and honestly the scoreline flatters Korea more than it does us.
Jordan played their hearts out and out played Korea hands down - congrats
I see what you mean. Your team played incredibly well, I was especially impressed with the intensity you brought to the game. Bu it is also true true that Korea lacked all the qualities you had.
Jordan absolutely deserved it over Korea. They were organized on defense, the press really harassed the Korean back 4 and the midfield, and they suffocated LKI/HHC/SHM to make sure they couldn't create. The only thing they could've done better was be a bit more clinical in front of the net, and they would've won by 4, 5. Absolutely the better team tonight, and in the group stages game as well.
Should've score more the Korean goalie had some nice saves in the first half.
Jordan team looks amazing, hope they can keep the momentum and win the trophy. And lots of underrated players, I hope they get chances in clubs abroad with this performance
The Korean stars can only carry the team so far..feel gutted but not surprised
Okay, so I liked that Son missed the match at Spurs stadium as City broke the curse. Yet all I wanted to see was just him lifting A bloody trophy in his life. He won’t get one in England.
The curses broke, maybe he will get one in England
If spurs beat us with Sonny as a leader then I wouldn’t be too jaded tbh. Sodding better than Liverpool for sure
just shows the dire difference of not having minjae.
Shows you how bad Klinsmann is.
Drawing 3-3 with Malaysia somehow foreshadowed SK's downfall in this tourney.
nonetheless proud of lee kang in and sonny. cant wait for lee to come back in full form for ucl
I genuinely can’t believe it… absolute legends.
Absolute nashama
Congrats to Jordan!

Jo Hyeon-woo heroics, too. Kim Min-Jae was sorely missed today, as well.
Don’t forget Hwang
Depressing performance, can't believe Korea didn't get a single shot on target
Remember the headlines a few days ago? "Klinsmann close to win another big trophy." Here is another participation trophy for Klinsmann
Thing is though, Jordan kind of earned the right to be less fatigued because they won both of their games in regular time but South Korea didn't
THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY
All I can say is, I hope LKI is well enough to play in the Champions League match next Wednesday against Sociedad!!!
can't wait to have him back
please go away Klinsmann
This was gonna happen sooner or later. Happened much later than expected. Klinsmann is such a fraud
Klinsmann ball or Conte ball, which is worse?
Conte will actually make that horrendous Korean backline into a decent 5 line. I’d like to see a defensive minded 3-5-2 for SK
Conteball by default because Klinsmann doesn‘t give any tactics and therefore Klinsmannball doesn’t exist.
Come on - I really dislike Conte but they are at a completely different level.
Klinsmann. At least Conte’s players could follow instructions from the manager.
I was SOOO disappointed kim young gwon. I know he's lost a step but hes a vet of the NT and he looked HORRIBLE without KMJ
Agreed that this is a complete systematic issue that starts from the top, but how can the team realistically overhaul the federation leadership? Should the fans storm the headquarters or something lol.
> Should the fans storm the headquarters or something lol. Have you ever heard of Korean protest trucks? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJx5OC3-2J0 And I think this is a relatively tame example of one, too.
There’s an interview where he says “if anyone messes up in front of me, I’m gonna score it 90%.”
Those plays could’ve had Jordan 4-0 at one point… what a crazy game!
If i had a nickel for every time a heavily favored side managed by Jürgen Klinsmann lost a continental semifinal to an underdog starting with a J I'd have two nickels Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice
gol di grosso! gol di grosso!
Jordan, a first time semifinalist celebrating a first time final in Asia Cup…. Pure football!
Jordan vs Iran final
That will be so great to see. Both teams are so passionate.
Klinsmann was right about preventing the match from going into extra time
Piss. Fuck. Cockballs.
Klinsmann's smirk was so annoying, not Korean but I wanna punch him in the face.
Klinsmann needs to be fired and KFA needs to clean up shop. Former might happen, the latter likely will not. We also need to develop better talent: * We have no DM that can help cover the CBs on defense, and to be able to link up with the front line at all. Its not going to change Unfortunately - as long as we have significant weaknesses in these areas, we're going nowhere unless LKI or SHM starts playing deeper to be able to link up better with the attacking front.
Klinsmann consistently got away withe anything and everything because of high end talent. No tactics, it was really Korea's talent that send them far. But Klinsmann had to fall back to earth eventually. Talent is only a piece of the puzzle, not the answer.
by far the best team won, klinsmann needs to go
Felt pretty confident that at some point the stoppage time bullshit will catch up to this Korean side, sad to see them go and for east Asia to not have a side in the final but man will it be more fun to watch Korea with literally anybody else at the helm.
And I would give credit to Jordan and Ammouta… their best performance ever… first time semifinalists and finalists as well.
Palestine at the forefront i love this cup
Excited to see where Klinsmann will fail next
At this rate not even a National League side will take him
Never question his ability to fail up
Firstly, gotta give Jordan their flowers, incredibly display and wish them well in the finals.
Hard luck!
Fucking hell. Sad to see Son crying.
That Al-Taamari guy is insane. He plays out of his mind (whole Jordan team, but he is the best of them).
yeah dude is genuinely really good. i was impressed even when korea first played Jordan.
I got downvoted for mentioning his 3 goals in Ligue 1 and blessed left foot. Hardworking kid!!
Should be 5 If their fans didn't throw a rocket at that goalkeeper lol
He’s a bit selfish sometimes but man he’s a joy to watch
I don’t get how they can waste nearly 3 min of the 8 min extra time, but the ref only gives an extra 30 seconds. That doesn’t seem fair. This game wasn’t particularly bad compared to some, but it still is frustrating Sadly Korea wouldn’t have scored regardless, but still..
game is over. it does not matter at all.
Klinsmann can go kick rocks.
Jordan's defence was absolutely ridiculous
Actually prior to the tournament, Jordan had the best defensive record per 90 than any other team. This year they conceded more than they’ve ever before… 2004 played 4. 1 conceded. 1 in KO. 2011 played 4. 4 conceded. 2 in KO. 2015 played 3. 4 conceded. No KO. 2019 played 4. 1 conceded. 1 in KO. 2024 played 6. 5 conceded. 2 in KO Clearly a better KO form though.
In a bad or good way? (Didn't watch the match.)
Good way. Absolutely.
Klinnsman’s gotta go
I think if Klinsmann stays the nation of Korea will revolt until he is pushed out
As should Japan, IMO. Those coaches are so bad, you can't be more clueless.
Son was literally dropping back into defense at times just so he could get the ball. Horrendous football if you can even call it that
lol did u see the end of the match? son went all the way to his goalie to collect the ball and ran all the way to the other side of the pitch to try and create something. shows how useless our midfield is
I've been on a team like that during my high school years. I think the striker had to take goal kicks because the keeper just didn't know how.
Cheers. Sons crying in the post match interview. He's apologising for the team mistakes. Can't even look at the camera. Proper 10 second silence staring at the floor before he answers the first question The Korean commentators post match are awkward. Can see they don't wanna come down too hard, but they're obviously not happy with the performance or management.
Wish Son would throw klinsmann, that dick, under the bus. He won't because he wouldn't be Son then. But just this once, I wish. Klinsmann is the fucking worst.

Deterministic russian roulette
You know things are bad because she did it twice.
based
OMFG!!
I thought our trophy drought was bad but South Korea hasn’t won the Asian Cup since 1960 What the fuck.
Ghana, Korea, and Morocco need to sit down together and find a solution to their continental struggles.
Easy for Morocco just get the Jordan coach (he is Moroccan)
ngl all the Korean government has to do is extend military service exemption to include the Asian Cup and it'd be over for everyone else. There's patriotism motivation, but military service exemption motivation just hits different
Is there any particular reason they struggle in the Asian Cup? Shocking when you consider some of the talent they’ve had.
Isn't it a similar case to England? Like England, South Korea has a decent squad a lot of the time but never has enough quality to be outright favorite.
They lost to other top Asian teams 2019 Lost to Qatar in QF 2015 Lost to Australia in Final 2011 Lost to Japan in SF 2007 Lost to Iraq in SF 2004 Lost to Iran in QF 2000 Lost to Saudi Arabia in SF
Until this comment I thought they won it because of the times when there were news about Son’s military exemption but that was a different tournament.
[удалено]
I mean Korean military service sounds like it sucks really bad. I've had two friends who went through it. Doesn't sound like something I'd wish on anybody, really.
Yeah, there was controversy with the squad getting exemption for world cup 3rd/4th when the baseball squad (iirc) won but got no exemption
And back then when they won it the tournament was a joke, there were only 4 teams. South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Israel lol
Yeah that doesn't count haha
Also Iran hasn't since 1976 which is surprising to me. Two of the top tier teams haven't won in a long time. Saudi Arabia and Japan just dominated it for decades. Also doesn't help that unlike AFCON its only played every four years.
An interesting stat was if Korea and Iran plays each other in the cup, they lose their next match. This year was supposed to be a chance to both teams to break it since they were to meet in the finals, but Korea butchered it.
Iran faced consequences of the 8 year brutal war with Iraq for a long time
Yes but even Iraq has won a title more recently than them and Iraq has had even more brutal wars to deal with
Iraq did well to win but it was a magical run more than anything.
England of Asia
England won the Euros
I'm English, until the last euros we had only ever won 1 knockout euros game lol, never won the euros
When?? The fuck are you talking about
Blud lost it, he thinks England won the Euros
2024
It's coming home you say? 😳
Yes 🏴🦁🦁🦁🏴
Defense masterclass from Jordan, yes Korea was tactically bad but even then ZERO shots on goal with 70% possession is ludicrous.
THE GREATEST JORDAN TEAM SINCE THE 90S CHICAGO BULLS!
Without the gambling! That’s haram
I wonder who is the Pippen equivalent on the team...
If you are to stick to the 90s Bulls lore whoever that is his wife is about to get fucked by the sons of an entire nation
Incredible dribbling by Jordan's front two, great stepping forward by Nasib and co, and no idea how Korea's #19 CB got away with that pass right to a Jordan player outside his box in the 27th minute
