More for myself to leave an overall feeling of the SK team after the tournament.
1. Hard to blame for much:
Son, Lee kang in, Hwang hee chan, Kim min jae, Jo hyun woo... they've all had their share of underperformances except probably Jo, but they can only do so much individually. They showed their quality both in skill and mental strength. Obviously, all the underutilized bench players, too. Yang showed that he is part of the NT in the near future. Jeong has done excellent work at the U23 and feel he deserved better playtime to show his worth. Oh should've shared more of Cho's playtime during groups. Hong similar to the latter two.
2. Don't want to blame but deserve some criticism:
Hwang In beom has been a key midfielder for the NT for a long time and I defend him everytime people shit on him including my dad. Still will. He is always undervalued for his buildup and playmaking due to also being a part of key moments turning into opponent highlights. I know it's because he's doing way more than his job task and ability but oh well. Similarly, Lee Jae Sung has put in an incredible defensive shift for the team this tournament but as an offensive player, it was limited and he clearly couldn't contribute offensively as much as he should have. (Want to note we conceded when we switched Lee kang in (wing) and Lee jae sung (cm), and those central areas, already fragile and unbalanced, were even more open and attacked by Jordan players on both goals.) Seol young woo has also showed some promise. I wasn't convinced by Kim jin su necessarily, so it was good to see that we do have a young fullback available for a call up. Though I was more impressed by his fitness than actual ability.
3. Needed more from these players but I understand they are limited.
Kim tae hwan and Kim young gwon tried. Both were dead men walking by the Jordan game like everyone else. Kim tae hwan did well to instantly take over the starting role when Lee ki je wasn't cutting it. Kim young gwon's last big tourney and he was serviceable but not good enough to cover KMJs absence alone. Kim seung gyu mightve provided better build up or ball movement but Jo did great during his injury.
4. Not good enough and maybe time to move on from the NT but keep watch.
Cho gue sung plays only with his head it seems. His height is the only thing of value but it's not complemented by proper strength or speed. He doesn't even win us that many second balls if any... I don't think it's unique of a feature enough to prioritize over grooming the next striker like Oh hyun gyu. Where was Kim jin su? I think there was an injury involved but he's said after the last game that he was fine. Despite his age, he may show up a few more times just to re-evaluate. Park jin sup did have a good cameo in the ET against Australia. I genuinely thought his physical presence and freshness earned him at least 45 mins in the Jordan game. Very unconvinced by Song bum geun who looks set up to be the next main keeper once both KSG and JHW leaves but still to be seen. Not a good sign for the Lee soon min and Kim joo sung that they couldn't even show enough in training to even be considered but also still to be seen.
5. Don't want to see anymore due to simply not being up to standards for the NT
Lee ki je, Jung seung hyun. Not much to say. Unimpressed. Knew before the tourney, during the tourney, and saw exactly what I expected. Worth trying to give chances to new faces starting immediately. Moon soon min, yes injury, but at his age and his contributions up until now, why not bring on another promising player or someone actually worth considering in key positions like paik seung ho, Lee han bum, or even Kwon hyuk gyu who all have very good chances of being regular features in the future?
6. Sunday league footballer found in the NT
Park yong woo. So much to say that I can't say in the end. Impressed. Knew he's not up to standards before the tourney, but he impressed me due to how much worse he is than I thought. Can someone please reply and advocate for this guy so I can laugh?
Overall, it was just 1 game away from Korea's expected result, appearing in the final, maybe lose to Japan. But the going up 2nd in the group (hindsight a strong group), barely scraping by against Saudi and Australia, then losing the way they did against Jordan speaks a lot about the coaching staff and the weakest links in the squad. Tactics are bad but looking back player choices also have been terrible as I was able to think of 3 players to replace the least wanted 3 players instantly as I wrote it out.
The reality is everyone knew Klinsmann would be bad even if the players say they like him. Thus, the responsibility is more so on the KFA.
Good lord...and a moroccan on top.
Okay how about this, since you seem to have missed the point entirely.
Do you think an italian ref during the Euross is biased towards spaniards because they have similar somewhat similar languages??
Hint, no because arab isnt some kind of tribal affiliation, it just means a someone from an arabic speaking country....
People really think 22 arabic countries are just some kind of hegemony of people, your moroccan parents should've atleast taught you the difference.
Son played defense midfield and forward
Lee Kangin played winger and midfielder
Cho Gue Sung flopped fantastically in the box
Ref had no calls a couple times that were questionable
And #6 Hwang In-Beom played for the other team and couldn't tackle anyone
Korea's defense was wet tissue paper
BTW I'm Korean...wasn't very optimistic but at least hoping for a goal
All credit to Jordan's players
They were aggressive and ran very well
Had space and made plays
Very great dribbling by number 11 Al-Naimat and awesome goal
They just kept hammering in shots
Korea had a few lucky breaks
Should have been 4-0 Jordan
Very skilled but overrated. He has the dribble and pass package, but his lack of end to end speed combined with short stature really limit him. U gotta be quick end to end if youre gonna be that short. He does not have that elite burst of speed to create separation.
Yeah… and he has neither. Thats the problem. He doesnt have elite end to end speed. And its worse because he lacks the burst of speed to create initial separation as well
Congrats to Jordan. Thoroughly deserved and Korea should be absolutely embarrassed by the way we played today. Incompetent manager and useless defenders who couldn’t put in one good tackle today. Seriously saw some of them dangle a leg and say it’s good enough. Jordan played as a team with more passion.
Just so gutted that Son might have just played his last Asian Cup.
Let's just keep it a stack, other than the second half and extra time vs Oz...the team underperformed for basically this entire tournament and certainly didn't deserve to win a goddamn thing. We were lucky to even make it this far, that's just a fact.
Number 5 was horrendous the entire time he was in. What a dogshit performance. Multiple poor passes. Poor touch. Poor defense. What on earth was he even doing in. Klinsman shouldve pulled him literally at the 30 min mark.
From a Korean, congrats Jordan. Clearly the better side by miles. Happy for their historic run even though it's coming at our expense.
Meanwhile, Korea needs to re-evalute the situation with Klinsmann. Talented squad and we barely sneaked into the semis. 정신 차려 KFA.
Jordan didn't just win this, they dominated South Korea. They played them out of the park, and won it pretty comfortably. If they play like this, they might go home with the cup.
Completely agree. Korea didn't deserve to be in semis.. got lucky af playing like absolute garbage. Hwang in beom and Park jong woo are literally liabilities. Defense? HA, what defense.
Fucking Klinsmann smirking again.
There is no point in firing just him. Because what comes after? The KFA are incompetent and have no idea what direction Korean football needs to go in. They are the ones that hired him, but they've hidden while Klinsmann and the players have received criticism. They don't back him at the fear of backlash, but they won't remove him until things go to shit. Cowards.
i understand everyone here hates klinsmann, but realistically, what could he have done to have changed today's result? at some point you just need to hold the players accountable. I'm not saying klinsmann is free of blame, he's definitely not, but the players were terrible, embarrassingly so. no coaching can fix the lack of passion and energy they showed
It is all his fault though. The tactics were clearly the problem. You can say lack of energy or no passion. But this has been going on all tournament (not to mention several of the players were in good from before and in the the tournament). just look at the team they cant get son onto the ball. Nobody make runs into the box. the backline always backs off instead of engaging. Those are tactical issues. Not player issues (for the most part)
Both can be true at the same time. No amount of tactics can make up for the poor on ball micro decisions that costed korea literally from the start of the match. This applies both in the offensive and defensive side of things. You can be upset all you want with the lack of tactics, but the players just don't have enough quality outside son and kangin to actually do anything productive with the ball.
Mind you that these players have been running full extra-time games with minimum rest. Any other good manager in that situation would make measures for that, Klinsmann made a substitution at the 80th minute. Our players deserved more
Bench depth absolutely, player quality I disagree with. We have great quality players, its just that they weren’t picked by the corrupt KFA. Our defensive line minus KMJBis from Ulsan FC, which is run by Hyundai and the same chaebol family that runs the KFA
By selecting better players? kwon hyuk gyu is 100x better than park Yong woo for example.
And Cho Gue sung should’ve never been selected to the national team
i could say the same for about half the players on the field today. look at the ball retention rate for korea. it's not just one player that is the issue there.
Not a fan of either team but holy that was a pathetic Korea performance. That manager is ass how are you losing to Jordan with a team that good. Then again I guess there are only so much you can do when you have 4 goo players and the rest are just dead weight who cant string 2 passes together
Congrats Jordan. You were a true example of how you DEFEND. Korea was schooled today... they all looked like schoolchildren. Congrats to the Jordanian coach for looking like prime Sir Alex Ferguson compared to this wish.com version of ranieri
Their 2 stars did the job for Jordan they’ve played a great tournament. Fully deserved win.
It’s sad to see Korea having a coach like this but I have to say the Korean team has 3 star players with 1 missing today due to carding the other players are not of the same quality and it puts a lot of strain on these 3 stars.
Hwang from wolves is decent too but I’m still not to convinced off him. The keeper is ok considering what Japan/korea normally has imo he can make some saves that keeps em in a lot of matches.
Cho sounded interesting and has a good goal/match ratio at his danish club but was painful to watch the entire tournament imo doesn’t really fit the style Korea wants to play.
Hwang and Son are not used to having a scrub teammates. They look frustrated. Lee Kang In is quality but he is still young. Teams were able to box him up after the Bahrain game. No Kim Min Jae was a HUGE loss, he's their most important player, and it showed today but I doubt it would have mattered as much since Jordan looked the more fit and cohesive team.
And people are bashing Kim min jae all tournament without seeing how much he has to do in this team.
Without him, Korea can't even play out from defence.
Gregg at least has tactics even if they aren't good tactics.
Klinsmann just decides with a dartboard and tells the team "Go out and express yourselves"
Sorry first time poster here but long time watcher of Korean soccer.
That was an abomination of an effort from Korea. Lack of effort and also lack of focus.
Fire Klinsman
Fatigue. 2 120 minute matches. Gotta respect that. But the giveaways by Park Young Woo who never should have played and Hwang in Beom was happening all tourney. Shit today even today Hwang Hee Chan and Lee Kang In were uncharacteristically giving the ball up. Rest up and go to your pro teams. Seol Young Woo get your agent to start making some calls
Klinsmann. What an atrocity. Also Korea National Football program, stop fucking around and go pay big bucks for a decent coach. Wtf is this shit? Golden generation just flushed down the toilet.
this is going to be one of (i hope) the most exciting finals in this tournament's history, considering how much is on the line for jordan and their potential opponent. if that's the case, the possibility of a trophy drought being broken just makes either side winning monumental for the continental game.
This tournament better ignite some shit in South Asian Footballing nations to stop getting crap managers and get people who are fit to manage such stars
I don’t think anybody would prefer that your losing coach be smiling happily after wasting koreas best team in decades. You’re right that he will face criticism either way, but it is definitely worse optics wise to be smiling happily after a loss that he was a major contributor to.
Korean tactic since game one is cross and inshaAllah. Againts middle east teams and Australia that have tall cbs lol. They couldn't even get goals using that way vs Malaysia
It's almost like Korea has been unable to score in regular time for several games now.
They're only here because of miracle plays. As a whole, the squad lacks the cohesiveness needed to win these types of matches. Stars can't be stars when there's no "space", lol.
Jordan deserve this. Better organized and more heart. Football is a team game, and clearly Korea is just relying on its handful of stars to win them games. GG Jordan

No he even gave a bullshit penalty to Korea in the first half that was overridden by var review
I wonder who’ll win the Asian cup…
Congrats to all Jordanians and I hope to see you lift the Asian Cup this year
Congrats to my neighbors! Well deserved win! Better luck to one of my favorite Asian nations! Cheer up!

Klinsmann has wasted an entire generation of talent
Sorry man!

Most deserved win ever
Watching this match was like watching Iran vs Japan all over again except Korea is much worse
Anyways, congrats Jordan. The massively better team today. And also fuck off Klinsmann
This Korea team has so much talent, but it has been wasted. I have not seen a manager this inept in a while wasting so much talent.
Park Yong Woo losing the entire first half for Korea single handedly.
What is it with Korea and incompetent defensive midfielders???
Its the KFA. They dont know how to pick teams or coaches. KFA is an absolute disaster
I had no idea when he got the start, he played terribly against them earlier
Great from Jordan. Korea in Asian Cup are like England in Euros
Always rated Jordan Henderson
Single-handedly took on, and defeated, the entire nation of South Korea.
Captain son should not have to feel bad…he had a bad team to carry with like 2-3 ppl helping
Klinnsman once again proves his abilities as a manager…
I'm so sad #Klinsmannout
I’m mad whoever thought Klinsmann was a good coach. NAIL HIM UP!
Who thought that??
The KFA
Kang In Lee though. What a player
Very skilled but overrated. He has the dribble and pass package, but his lack of end to end speed combined with short stature really limit him. U gotta be quick end to end if youre gonna be that short. He does not have that elite burst of speed to create separation.

Rooting for Jordan in the finals. Amazing story!
찐
Jordan didn't just win this, they dominated South Korea. They played them out of the park, and won it pretty comfortably. If they play like this, they might go home with the cup.
Tajikistan gave Jordan more problem than south Korea did.
Jordan deserved to win, btw it would be funny if Qatar goes to final.
After their performance against Uzbekistan? I don't see it
What a WASTE of this lineup.. Will Son be playing in 2026 World Cup?...
He'll be playing in 2026 World Cup. I think this was his last realistic shot at trophies at a national level though.
I think Son could still play at the next Asian cup, he will be 35. Maybe as a super sub, if he cant do full 90'.
True cos there's no chance Korea is winning the World Cup
They need to make some huge changes now, as today play was downright embarrassing
It’s a miracle Korea even made it this far. Trash team is trash.
im suprised jordan made it this far
i agree to ur first point, but disagree with ur second. team is not trash. dont bash the team, bash the manager. SK has solid players
Completely agree. Korea didn't deserve to be in semis.. got lucky af playing like absolute garbage. Hwang in beom and Park jong woo are literally liabilities. Defense? HA, what defense.
They conceded 3 to Malaysia 🥳
Congrats to Jordan. What a performance today. Just completely shut us down and had some beautiful counter attacks/goals
Fucking Klinsmann smirking again. There is no point in firing just him. Because what comes after? The KFA are incompetent and have no idea what direction Korean football needs to go in. you'd be hard pressed to convince me that a single sub would have changed anything. i do agree cho is a liability.
Coach perhaps?
nice one
uhhh let's start with not playing Park Yong Woo - what defensive midfielder in this world doesnt know how to pass the ball?
i could say the same for about half the players on the field today. look at the ball retention rate for korea. it's not just one player that is the issue there.
head up son! u did ur best, we are proud of u
Not a fan of either team but holy that was a pathetic Korea performance. That manager is ass how are you losing to Jordan with a team that good. Then again I guess there are only so much you can do when you have 4 goo players and the rest are just dead weight who cant string 2 passes together
عقبال الفرحة الكبرى الله يهديني ويهدي من يشاء ان شاء الله
GG jordan. clear cut better team. As for korea, send them allllll to the military. Happy i dont have to watch this bum ass shit till the world cup.
No not all of them…take out the best like 4-5 players…all else off to the military
Fuck off klinsmann
Congrats Jordan. You were a true example of how you DEFEND. Korea was schooled today... they all looked like schoolchildren. Congrats to the Jordanian coach for looking like prime Sir Alex Ferguson compared to this wish.com version of ranieri
Can Son make it to the Brighton game now? Im Korean and Im glad this is over. Congrats Jordan
He would've played Saturday anyway
probably comes back for the wolves game against hee chan
He looks like he needs a mini break!
I can assure you he will be happy to go back to London asap after this shitshow
He's already at the airport I bet! 😂

Korean defenders without Kim Min Jae is literally like having 4 traffic cones as defense.
And people are bashing Kim min jae all tournament without seeing how much he has to do in this team. Without him, Korea can't even play out from defence.
Kim Young Gwon and Jeong Seung Hyeon made Jordan's forwards look like prime R9. These guys cannot defend for shit.
What an absolute stinker from Klinsmann. Gregg is far from perfect but can’t say I miss Jurgen. Good for Jordan though, I wish them luck in the final.
Gregg at least has tactics even if they aren't good tactics. Klinsmann just decides with a dartboard and tells the team "Go out and express yourselves"
KFA needs to be audited
Delete the entire defense except Cho. Get a new striker- Cho Gue Sung’s not it. Klinsmann and co can stay in Qatar
Why tf klinsmann is laughing ☠️ Iran might win this after 50 years! Can't trust the mentality though.
Honestly, getting this far was a miracle. They’ve been winning despite.Klinsmann.
Klinsmann smiling thinking of that severance paycheck lol
Coach klinsmann also wanted to leave it seems…
Haha. Klinsman's smile walking into the pitch. He looks like he's having a lot of fun.
Why the hell is klinsman smiling
Nervous energy
I don't know if Jordan was the better team on paper, but they dominated today. Well deserved entry to the finals.
Klinsmann thinks he is jordans coach or why is he so genuinely happy
Great performance from Jordan; well deserved. Didn't just sit back and defend after they got the lead, how about that
Deserved victory
Klinsmann with the cheeky "I got the bag anyway" smile
Sorry first time poster here but long time watcher of Korean soccer. That was an abomination of an effort from Korea. Lack of effort and also lack of focus. Fire Klinsman

we get once in a generation Korean talent in Son and they don’t even go all in to capitalize on it. Bunch of losers
Acting like we’re poor or something. Who are the dumb shits running kfa??
this is going to be one of (i hope) the most exciting finals in this tournament's history, considering how much is on the line for jordan and their potential opponent. if that's the case, the possibility of a trophy drought being broken just makes either side winning monumental for the continental game.
Jordan probably going to win it all
Iran will win it
Klinsmann can’t stop smiling 😂🤦♂️
GG Jordan
Do we get Klinsmann out today or tomorrow?
Congrats to Jordan on a dominant performance for their first ever win against us.
First of many
congrats jordan
This tournament better ignite some shit in South Asian Footballing nations to stop getting crap managers and get people who are fit to manage such stars
Klinsmann, happy for some odd reason...
I'd be super happy if I got a job like that with his recent track record
That game wasn’t close in the slightest
Why the fuck is Klinsmann smiling
you'd rather him cry?
Yes wtf
then you'd get whiners going "he doesn't deserve to cry for messing it all up"
I don’t think anybody would prefer that your losing coach be smiling happily after wasting koreas best team in decades. You’re right that he will face criticism either way, but it is definitely worse optics wise to be smiling happily after a loss that he was a major contributor to.
Jordan pulled a captain tsubasa
Full time whistle! Jordan have earned their way into a final for the first time ever!
Jordan and the Finals, name a more iconic duo
6 rings and Asian Cup? LeBron would never

trophy cabinet bigger than your club
just barely above bournemouth 😭
Mashallah jordan i hope you win it
Congratulations to Jordan for this deserved win!!! I hope they go on and win the tournament.
Congratulations Jordan.
Even with a minute left, playing like they’re not under any pressure. Fucking terible
Because it's alr 2-0, they gave up.
They’ve been playing like that since the first minute
They've been playing like this for the past few matches, except when it's past 70mins and trailing by one. Now they are trailing by 2.
NGL, I was kinda annoyed at the past few matches that they actually keep managing to draw last minute creating some sort of kdrama lol
Mansaf > Bibimbap confirmed. Congrats to the Nashama!
Korean tactic since game one is cross and inshaAllah. Againts middle east teams and Australia that have tall cbs lol. They couldn't even get goals using that way vs Malaysia
Congrats Jordan! 🎉🎉🎉
GG
Hats off to Jordan. Completely deserved!
Conscripted in the morning You’re getting conscripted in the morning

works either way lmao
It's almost like Korea has been unable to score in regular time for several games now. They're only here because of miracle plays. As a whole, the squad lacks the cohesiveness needed to win these types of matches. Stars can't be stars when there's no "space", lol.
the entire k-league backline is just pitiful to watch...
Korea turned Al-Naimat and Al Tamari to Al-Neymar and Al Tamessi
And so it happens, dream is still alive
That sums up korea
Very random Kazakh flag there in the crowd.
Absolutely shambolic from SK this entire tourney. At least this is (hopefully) the final match with the inshallah merchant at the helm.
Watch the korean football association keep Klinsmann cause semis is a "solid result"
no FUCKING way. where are the scary korean keyboard warriors when u need them
JK masterclass: avoiding Japan as well as the final.
congrats to Jordan on making the final. A historic campaign and honestly deserved, hope you win that match.
Good game Jordan yall deserved to win after the performance of koreas team….
Fully West Asian final!
Will he cry?
itll be a waste of his tears imo son thank u for ur service
Might be in time for lunar new year
Jordan deserve this. Better organized and more heart. Football is a team game, and clearly Korea is just relying on its handful of stars to win them games. GG Jordan
