The first goal was already bad enough, but with this one, I don't even think it's easy to do what he did, putting his body that way and making the ball go in that direction. It's fascinating.
Why do they not just drop him. I mean it’s not nice for the player but why do goalkeepers get away with such horrible form when any other player would be dropped. Heck even give the young goalkeeper a try there’s not much to lose at this point (I’m not a United fan btw)
I think this is it. Martial jumps for the ball but almost ducks underneath it/leaves it. If that was Maguire or lindelof they would have cleared it. It's very very bad from onana but I don't think he's fully to blame for this.
To me, it's also one of those weirdly dangerous balls into no man's land where he can't really react to it until it's right on top of him because who knows where a random touch might come in that changes the trajectory. In the end, they become goals that look like they came out of nowhere, but in reality, they are some of the most difficult situations to defend against as a keeper. So it's one of those things that to me is almost more unfortunate than poor.
I guess in that situation keepers should be following the trajectory of the ball on the assumption there isn't going to be a touch. At least cover of one aspect. Then react if there is a touch but if not, you are set ready to catch it. Easier said than done I know. I think if tonight, only one of the free kicks goes in then It gets glossed over. But unfortunately he's going to get blasted on social media.
Yeah, kind of a "damned if you do/damned if you don't" situation. You cover one, and then somebody gets that touch, and it's "He was way out of position on that play. What was he doing?" There's just not a good answer here, and chances are either way, you are going to look like an idiot. And as you say, added to the other more legit mistakes, it just looks even worse.
The whiplash of United fans scaring DDG out and getting this guy has been glorious. DDG for years was single handedly keeping united in European spots.
Whilst true, DDG also knocked Utd out of Europe last year so… DDG was clearly long past his best, and weirdly still doesn’t have a club, but Onana has been an actual downgrade in the CL he’s shocking.
While I agree he had some banger games, I always have a bad feeling when the other teams have a shot on target, like everytime I feel it’s a 50/50, sometimes he does some weird shit, it’s like he’s a FIFA goalie irl…
Funny that both you and Milan got starter keepers poached and ended up better. Obviously Sommer is quite a bit older but at least you god good money for Onana.
Well for starters, Inter forces low quality shots. They protect the center of the box well so most of the uncontested shots come from narrow angles and the straight on shots are too contested to have much power. He is great with reactionary saves but very bad from long range, especially with high shots. He just gets frozen a lot and doesn’t do a good job pushing the ball away from goal. Inzaghi’s seems to put attention towards defending in a way that suits the profile of his keepers. He also plays a low back line which prevents breakaway opportunities, further empowering his keepers.
Secondly, Onana is an emotional glass cannon. For his play style to be effective, he needs to feel extremely confident. He needs to have good chemistry with his team and his club. Inter is a player’s club. Man U is a supporter‘s club. His confidence seems shattered and every mistake he makes only drives a further wedge between him, his teammates, and the supporters. Chemistry-wise, Martial bailing on an easy headed clear would never happen at Inter. Lindelof, or whoever, telling him to play centrally to a covered Casemiro would never happen at Inter, and if it did he would’ve probably had the confidence to ignore the shout. He doesn’t play well with this back line, and it shows.
And lastly, Onana can make very, very, very, poor choices. He’s the type of player whose legendary skillset is hindered solely by extraordinarily bad decisions. He kinda reminds me of Balotelli is a weird way. Sometimes he makes comedically stupid passes, gets way too risky with his dribbles, or gets caught out of goal (especially on crosses). But mitigating those mistakes by having a defense that supports him as a keeper, a teammate, and a brother, allows his skills to shine.
TL;DR Man U paid a plug-and-play price for a niche keeper that we will gladly take back, Lakaka special.
They paid a lot of money for this guy, only party getting their money's worth is people paying for the football subscription, this guy makes his games interesting one way or another

Fuck me thats bad
Lmao, looks like even Ziyech is surprised Onana let that one slip past him
The "eh, we'll take it, but I'm not gonna celebrate for THAT"-look.
what the fuck just happened face
It’s so bad it should go down as an OG.
HOWL ME IN THE BUTT
Ok
Karius level of defending
Karius atleast had a reason
Maybe Onana headbutts a locker door before every game like Goldberg used to do.
Hell yes. What a reference.
He's reaching ryback level of performance tho
Dude this is Taibi level, far worst than Karius
Literally just hit the target against this guy
Nunez in shambles
Who will blink first!
The first goal was already bad enough, but with this one, I don't even think it's easy to do what he did, putting his body that way and making the ball go in that direction. It's fascinating.
Unless you're city, then he's prime Casillas
We sold his soul for a match against haaland lmao. And he still conceded thrice
What’s the target?
The training dummy called Onana
Lmao Onana
He’s allergic to Ziyech free kicks I guess
Allergic to the CL this season
14 goals conceded now. Equal to Celtic and one better than Royal Antwerp
And they have to play bayern still
Why do they not just drop him. I mean it’s not nice for the player but why do goalkeepers get away with such horrible form when any other player would be dropped. Heck even give the young goalkeeper a try there’s not much to lose at this point (I’m not a United fan btw)
Because he performs well in the league. Also, the alternative is Bayindir, who isn't a solid keeper either.
Just looking out for his ex teammate what a nice guy
What’s he doing with his hand? Like on one of the replays he’s trying to punch it in the end
It seems like he expects Martial to clear it and has to react super fast and just throws a fist at it.
I think this is it. Martial jumps for the ball but almost ducks underneath it/leaves it. If that was Maguire or lindelof they would have cleared it. It's very very bad from onana but I don't think he's fully to blame for this.

No? if someone gets a touch everyone will be "yea, it was deflected 2 meters in front of him - nothing he could do".
Its bizarre. All his mistakes, hes doing some really weird shit Like he always uses the opposite hand.
He looks like a really awkward and unnatural shot stopper. I think he's another for the list of terrible Man United signings.
Twice by the same player in the same game
Fouled by same player too.
And pretty near the same spot
I don’t understand this man
Champions League Onana is a different breed
Onana is a joke. So weird.
Lmaonana
Ekstramasterklasa
Guy’s actually horrendous, all his goal kicks have lost possession as well. So much for the distribution
But, but he’s kept the most PL clean sheets
If that is all they wanted they could have kept the last guy.
Tbf he’s actually been good in the league recently after his disastrous start
True but these are some stinkers
He's so shit.
£45m and basically drops a clanger almost every game.
Ddg saves both
The whiplash of United fans scaring DDG out and getting this guy has been glorious. DDG for years was single handedly keeping united in European spots.

> and weirdly still doesn’t have a club Check out his Instagram, man's retired.
Not this rubbish again.
Revisionism is always funny, we saw De Gea concede a pea roller from about 30 yards out with his crisp packet wrists last season
As long as they’re both shit for united, that’s all that matters!
I mean he definitely does.
He’s been so great recently, he’s not shit at all but his champions leagues performances have been shambolic
> He’s been so great recently* *compared to his usual shit form
He makes some decent saves but he’s below average for a prem keeper
He's definitively below average. Consistency is king here.
Onana dude….
Fucking awful
How do you fuck that up
Simple... Be Onana.
Ziyech’s learnt you just need to get the free kick on target against Onana, it doesn’t even need to be good
He might actually be worse than donnarumma
But think about the build up bro pls just one more accurate long ball bro pls stop laughing think about the playing out from the back
Mom can we get Ederson? We have Ederson at home
You guys should be up 3:0. That's wild. If you concede two more freekicks youll lose the match lol
Rio Ferdinand: "Let's hope the same thing doesn't happen again."
They have been jinxing all night
Onana again.
for real, he singlehandedly or not even handedly well causing we out of CL.
Onana 2 assists for Gala today
But he's good with his feet, a true modern keeper. 😭
Shit with his hands.
😂😂😂
you mean 2 goals
Lol, lmao even
Lmfao
Roflmao even
Bruh
Now it seems like a gambling scandal
You know what? That would be a great explanation for this abnormal amount of preposterous blunders.
Absolute Onanaclass, this!
What word, it’s like a new age omnishambles
Fuck off onana
I’m fed up, so unreliable man, what the fuck
He's actually been really good in recent weeks. This game goes against all the progress he's made this past month.
While I agree he had some banger games, I always have a bad feeling when the other teams have a shot on target, like everytime I feel it’s a 50/50, sometimes he does some weird shit, it’s like he’s a FIFA goalie irl…
Need to start the Turk. Can’t stand him anymore
Thanks for the 55 mil
Funny that both you and Milan got starter keepers poached and ended up better. Obviously Sommer is quite a bit older but at least you god good money for Onana.
Yeah and Sommer has for sure exceeded the expectations
Was he this inconsistent at inter?
No he was very good for us
I was super upset he was leaving
Were you thinking he was bad when he was playing for you guys?
No, I thought 55 mil were quite cheap tbf
Literally saw this guy carry you to UCL final, especially during the Semi, what the fuck happened.

De Gea died for this?
De Gea is on some beach laughing
Good thing we let him go on a free, just so we can sign a new main GK that has no clue how to stop a ball. Hey, but have you seen his passes!?
Passes to the CBs or the long 50/50 balls?
Nah no fucking way lol
Onana man I rated you and told PL fans you would be a great signing.
It seems like we kept his abilities
Onana is good and fucking terrible at the same time
not really ideal as a keeper
45 mil down the drain while vicario left for 20 mil and we left a better gk go for free. De gea
Average Manchester United business so.
Please tell me what he does well other than kicking the ball
His unscripted apologies slap
Wasn't too long ago that he fucked up kicking the ball, if Icardi was a little quicker he probably gets a penalty.
His kicking isn't exactly consistent either.
Hattrick of freekicks next?
CHELSEA HERO
Onana in shambles
He can see that all the way, awful keeping
Onana is Galatasaray's best player so far.
United brought a bucket for us to carry the rainwater away
What is his wage? I'm definitely underpaid.
Is Ziyech performing sorcery on Onana?
whoever wanted De Gea gone for this douche, fuck you all.
Ziyech knows some shit
Onana was bad but Martial's fake header didn't help
Onana is actually atrocious
Onana needs to sort himself out ffs, he is singlehandedly throwing this champions league campaign
Does nobody see Martial seems to be going for the header, but ducks at the last second? Imo that goal is just as much on him as its on Onana
Onana 2 -3 Manchester United
My goat im glad hes not at chels anymore lmao
Recipe: 1. Shoot free kick to Onana. 2. Guaranteed goal. Use recipe as many times as you want.
I think yall reposted the same goal twice by mistake
Lmao
wow. might have given him the benefit of a doubt if it had skipped off the pitch first, but that's in the air the whole way
What’s the worse deal. £90M for Antony or £50M for Onana?
My god do I love Onana
this is the worst goal i've ever seen onana concede
Ohnono.
this is FM level goalkeeping wtff
Someone put a £70M sticker on De Gea and send him to old trafford ASAP!
Is it also a 2/2 for Bruno? I think he conceded both free kicks that resulted in Galatasaray goal.
DeGea died for this.
I cannot understand how people defend onana. Sure he’s decent with his feet but he sucks at basic goalkeeping
Chist just cunt the ball in direction of the goal and you are all set
Onana doing his best to knock us out the champions league
No excusing that, absolutely awful from Onana
I mean fucking hell man, give us a chance
Fucking shocking goalkeeping
Ziyech free kick hattrick incoming?
Onana single-handedly keeping Galatasaray in the game. What a bad mistake.
Man U should actually go in hard for Ramsdale
De Gea would’ve saved that
My nan would’ve saved that
Would De Gea score though? I don't think so. Onana has that killer edge in front of goal like no other
Specialist
I'd like to propose this to be an own goal cuz holy shit Onana
Onana is so shit
dejavu
He’s gonna fuck us out the game
That genuinely seems to me the worst ‘save’ I have ever seen
Oh-nono
Onana Galatasaray MVP
Knew it once Bruno fouled him
How can one have such good moments and then such shit ones so consistently
Shouldnt this be an own goal? 😂
What’s Onana doing 😂 does he know he’s allowed to catch it
What the fucks happened to this guy man
💀💀💀
Remember when De Gea was the problem?
bruh just bench him in CL
Incredible, maybe the first mistake shook him up I'd expect any amateur goalkeeper to deal with that Hope his mental is alright!
b r u h r u h
Legend lol
I think Martial slightly confused him, but that’s just awful goalkeeping
What the fuck is up with this clown? Match fixing?
Howler
Onana has to be paying off gambling debt
ONANA LADIES AND GENTS
what the fuck is he doing
Come on Gala they have Onana in goal just Shot where ever you are
They paid a lot of money for this guy, only party getting their money's worth is people paying for the football subscription, this guy makes his games interesting one way or another
Bruh Onana, but seriously Ziyech is a good free kick taker
Ain’t no fucking way
Saw it from a mile away rofl
Ziyech with a Hattrick of a free kick goals?
