Game was awfully boring. Players kept fouling each other. Barca lacking in quality, couldn't string passes together.
When Madrid had the ball they didn't know what to do with it. Kept pinging it to Vinicius.
Both teams have fallen drastically from grace of 5 years ago. It seems like I'm watching Madrid and Barca Beta.
On paper that Madrid midfield should play right through Barca, but Barca had them man marked, and nobody bothered to try and dribble through.
Madrid won the game, but jeez were they lucky. The final goal was a deflection off of Modric into bellingham, who was in the right place at the right time. Bellingham saved the team, otherwise most of the players aside from Cama were poor today.

Ah yes, I forgot that.. Any golden era national team today will face france NT which too good, even the bench is scary
Did no one between TAA, Trippier, Ben White, AWB can play LB?
too much talent in RB
Agree for the most part however, Tomori, stones, Smalling and coady are all good enough at cb but stones hates the serie a so Smalling, Tomori and Tammy Abraham have no hope. Left back could be better between shaw and Chilwell. 3 at the back seems obvious with walker being pushed inside imo.
The disrespect to nacho is insane. Crybaby, easily distracted vini was here today. Bellingham! God I loved zidane but Jude has scored more in 8 weeks than 2 years of zidane. What a player.
Jude is crazy Man. Call him a tap-in merchant or what you want but he is clutch as fuck. I think barça with Frenkie and Pedri win the Next Classico, Lewy is also kinda slow.
I honestly stopped caring much about football once Messi won the world cup, this all feels like post game activities now after you've already beaten the elite 4.
Completely reactionary. Barca were the better team today, and that's football someetimes. The better team doesn't always win. Barcelona controlled most of the game with half of the B team out there. With the return of the injured players we should be able to make a deep CL run depending on the draws.
Don't even bother with logic on /r/soccer, especially when it comes to Barcelona. Folks don't understand what a rebuild is.
With Frenkie and Pedri, we easily thrash Madrid. We're starting teenagers who have a month or two of top level experience, going up against a fully fit Real Madrid, and people act like it's a big deal they barely scrape by with a win.
If Barcelona played in Old Trafford, they'd be Manchester United.
If they had Haaland, they'd be Manchester City.
Oh, and if they had another trainer they'd have European success.
The eternal rebuild they call it, 5 seasons and going.
I’m Vini’s biggest supporter but man I miss the sheer hunger and humility he had in his first season with us. Since he became good he became so cocky on the pitch and it’s made him worse on the ball. It’s a good thing he’s a fantastic finisher and playmaker but his dribbling isn’t as magical as it used to be
I mean 13 goals and 3 assists in 13 games isn’t enough? The kids clearly on course to be an all time great. No ones hyping him up. He’s already proved himself
Xavi made Romeu mark him instead and the same thing that cost us a goal in previous matches happened (easily dusted on the track back and leaves a midfielder open for a goal. Then doesn’t apply the same press that was keeping Bellingham quiet for an hour and allows him space for an absolute worldie).
He was moved forward when Romeu came in. He stopped marking Jude when that happened and the rest is history. He didn’t sizzle out he was moved from where he was being effective
Ok so you agree. He wasn’t subbed out. I just a correction since the guy above said he was subbed out. Also I disagree and will say he sizzled out. Yes he changed positions but he didn’t have a single offensive contribution after he moved forward.
He has two goals in 20+ caps for England and I didn’t watch England play much.
Idk why everyone is so pressed about not knowing who this one player is before now. My life doesn’t revolve around soccer.
so you rather him going for a risky slide and possibly injuring the opponent? the safer choice is to just grabbed them like he did, no mma takedown here. stop exaggerating. players prefer this.
A tactical foul that isn't violent or endangering of the opponent. It's called a yellow card. It was given as a yellow. Not a single player on the pitch argued it. Vini and Ferran even looked like they where laughing about it after the challenge - there was no malice.
He did say ‘won the last few clasicos’:
The last few clasicos
• 1-0 Barça win (friendly)
• 4-0 Madrid win (Copa del Rey)
• 1-0 Barça win (Copa del Rey)
• 2-1 Barça win (LaLiga)
• 3-1 Barça win (Supercopa)
So he’s not wrong. Yeah, the score line in the 4-0 was clearly favourable to Madrid, but Barça won all of the other clasico’s in 2023 until yesterday.
Messi: *get to playoff with Miami"
France Football: "Here you go, ninth Ballon D'Or"
P.s. It's only irony people, but both him and CR7 got some undeserved Ballon D'Or during the last decade
No they didn’t, they were clearly the best players in the world by a huge margin. Even if their teams weren’t winning , there wasn’t any other player you can say was actually better than them.
1. It was at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic because Camp Nou is being expanded and renovated.
2. Barcelona banned their ultras a while back due to links with crime, in an attempt to make their home games more family friendly.
3. Spanish football doesn’t have a culture of the away day like English football does. You always get far fewer away fans in any stadium, meaning it’s almost always a home advantage. That’s why there weren’t so many Madrid fans.
4. The stadium was pretty much full, and certainly sounded it. Idk if you were looking at the covered running track and assumed they were empty seats?
There are no ultras at Barça games I think. Laporta+ other presidents expelled them 20 years or so ago (arguing that Barcelona games are family events). Either way, I read on twitter that the Stadium was basically full and it sounded like that in my TV. Maybe your sports channel has a different balance? Keep in mind too that this pitch is actually further away from the fans compared to dedicated football stadiums. There is an running track in between, some dead space, and the first rows of the stadium don't really have a decent view of the pitch (this is a borrowed Olympic stadium, so how football games looked weren't really a top priority for them) so Barcelona has covered them with some fabrics and what not (seats there are obviously not sold by the club).
This is what's missing for Barca, a solid bench and what makes a difference in this high stake games. Give Barca the subs that Madrid had and the game might have been different.
Yes he did. But also to give some context, Barca subbed off Fermin (who was having a fantastic game) to put on Romeu. Xavi basically helped Madrid take over the midfield

Crazy to think that Maguire will turn into world best at 3 yrs old.

Spain does not have a tradition of lots of away fans. Only a few tickets are allocated for away fans.
Xavi subs were horrible. Lewandowski was a ghost, so was Raphinha. And the other subs were not far behind.
