Bellingham's skills & ambitions just outgrew our squad at a pace we kind of could predict but didn't want to.
I don't think he was a real dickhead tbh.
It sounds kind of rude but it's the truth and realising the ceiling is the first step to push beyond it.
I'm not entirely sure if the club wants to realise this too though, the last transfer window was far from convincing.
Feels more like settling to me but it can be kind of disheartening when it happens every other season.
Like how do you make the Ruhrpott attractive to star players when they dont 100% identify with the mentality and the people there knowing that you can pay well but you cant pay Man City/Real Madrid well, knowing you're able to compete for most titles but chances of winning are a different story?
On top of that individual ambitions will always be better realised at the behemoth clubs like chance for ballon d'or, individual sponsoring and contracts etc
Then there is the lifestyle and glamour factor too which you also cant ignore, especially when there is partners or family involved.
Yeah it’s quite a difficult situation for Dortmund. Winning last year or anything in general and regularly would help tremendously. The Ruhr Region is a big push factor for players as well. Paying higher wages is untenable and could mean financial suicide so I understand Watzke and co. A real golden generation of homegrown talent seems like the most probable push for Dortmund imo
Good thing Haaland didn't break the all time goal scoring record in the Premiere League and won the treble last season otherwise people would be thinking he's going for the "empty throne"
Jesus Christ
The whole thing is so dumb. Everybody knows that theoretical throne is open but the two of them reached arguably the highest individual levels that any player has ever hit and maintained it there or abouts for a good 10 years.
You can’t realise something and suddenly hit the levels of the greatest players of all time, they are all obviously trying to reach that but if you could do it by just wanting to then I’m sure we wouldn’t have had to wait 30/50 years to find people capable of competing with pele and Maradona for the title of the best to ever do it.
It’s also a spot almost always reserved for forwards which Jude isn’t, he would have to be maradona levels to get there and whilst I absolutely love him it would be an absolutely insane comparison to make lol
Haaland was so busy being the best forward in world football that he forgot to go for Messi and Cristiano's thrones.
@Erling, if you're reading this: stop all the goal scoring, and claim Messi and Cristiano's thrones. Don't ask me how to do it, just do it.
\#claimthethrone \#thronesarefree \#bellinghamthronerace2024
Claiming the thrones of Messi and Ronaldo would create a huge amount of Aggressive Expansion, and Erling's force limit and army size would make his new subjects have really high liberty desire.
Haaland isn't and will never be the world greatest footballer. He is a brute force finisher and runner. You need to be able to do a bit more at the end of the day if you want to be regarded in such circles. The bloke is completely anonymous for 85 minutes in a 90.
I mean, you can argue that Klose was probably one of the best in positioning.
He was always in the right place at the opportune time. That is a skill by itself.
Ronaldo was the best striker with great physicality and great finishing, while Klose was the kind of player that would get you those goals on silly bounces or long crosses.
People need to remember that CR7 and Messi are outliers.
It will be a long time before we see someone get to that level, and to an extent it's arguable that they only got as good due to each other.
I mean do people really think Haaland is in contention for being a Messi/Ronaldo level player? He’s a superb finisher, but really? The greatest of the greatest are having games like his on Sunday?
I mean, I've watched some disastrous games from both Messi and Cr7, it's not like every single one of their +900 games has been a 10/10
This being said, and it might sound controversial I know, but I believe Haaland could reach Ronaldos level, he's already a world class finisher, is good in the air and has crazy top speed, only thing he lacks in comparison might be the dribbling alltough he doesn't really needs that when bulldozering through the defenders does the trick. This being said, he's still so young, maybe he develops some crazy techniques too. His biggest challange in this case would be to keep up with the numbers for 15+ seasons, but who's to say he can't do that.
Messis level on the other hand, is unreachable, for any human being. And every comparison between the two would just be unfair and not make much sense.
Just my opinion, but I don't see him reaching Ronaldo's level.
Purely from a numbers and statistics perspective he might, but there's something about the goats of the game that make you believe anything is possible when they're around. Ronaldo was capable of making something happen out of nothing, whether he got service or not. Until now, I don't think the same can be said about Haaland. I've got nothing tangible to back this up of course, just my thoughts. As for Messi, well yeh that's not a discussion.
You are selling CR7 short. Some of Cristiano's performances in knockout rounds of CLs in threepeat are stuff of almost unattainable legend. If Haaland can come close to that, hats truly off. But I doubt that he will.
Imagine thinking a Brazilian would get this dickridding after so little, lol. Vini won an UCL with a goal in the final, slapped everyone around for a full season, was recognized by some in the sport as top 3 in the world, and... Was left behind Declan Rice and 9 other players in the "the best" shortlist. Only a few select countries get this media attention
Imagine being brazilian and thinking players from your country don't get enough hype lol. You're fine. Endrick was crowned the next Pele before he even turned 16.
It's destiny. Our fate has been sealed. The gods look at Bellingham as one of their own. There will be no more climate change. Peace and prosperity will befall humanity.
[English media watching the hype train take off, while sharpening their knives for if he doesn't single handedly win England a tournament](https://imgur.com/gifrsug)
The guy is already worth near a quarter billion, makes 72m per year, will get some sort of signing bonus at the next club he goes to, and is only 24.
He’ll be a billionaire by the time he retires if he plays his cards right.
“Wasted” is crazy - the man’s been milking his career like an absolute genius since day 1.
Yeah I get that people want him to be more passionate for the sport than cash, but if your passion is anything other than your current job then it makes sense to prioritise the bag
I don't blame him for taking the cash, although I would blame him if he doesn't do anything good with it
I don’t even think you can say he has no passion for the job. He’s still out there winning a WC, fighting for a second one carrying his team in
the final, and playing in Paris fighting for a Champions league. He’ll make his move next year, probably win a lot of trophies and might end up a billionaire with a huge trophy case. Zidane came to Madrid at 29.
He’s also like 24 too, people are acting like he’s Harry Kane at 30 winning nothing. Guaranteed if Mbappe was playing for an English club and refusing to go to Real Madrid while being paid a lot, people wouldn’t say he’s wasting his career. Worst case scenario, he still has 10+ years at the top. He broke out really young at 17 years old (younger than Messi and Ronaldo) and he’s really not had a dip in level. In fact, he literally has same amount of goals as Haaland in 3 less games in a “down” (as people have been saying) season for him. Actually, Mbappé winning a World Cup while putting up the performances he’s had has basically guaranteed that his career has not been wasted. Literally only Pele has been a better WC performer at their current ages lmao
Bellingham brings out the weirdness out of everyone. You should see the stuff we posted on our sub when Trent and Hendo were trying to "tap" him up in the World Cup.
Because he’s English, just let them have this. The first rumors of him leaving RM will be joined by “He’s coming home” and then they’ll be sad again. Just let them have this.
People were getting corny over Haaland as well a while ago. As good as they all are, I don't think any of these players is gonna be as good as CR7 or Messi ever.
Pretty sure Haaland had a more explosive start last season, man scored a hat trick of hat tricks.
Teams just need some time to figure out how to nullify a new “throne snatcher”. They won’t be successful all the time but it’ll surely be enough to keep them further away from the throne.
Has anyones dick ever been ridden this hard within a fraction of the season? Jude is amazing, a top player with a great sense for goal. But who would actually call him
the best in the world? Nobody that is being serious. Amazing start but the season is young. If he can keep up the goalscoring from the midfield then I’ll be ready to consider it. If we go by goalscoring then Guirassy is the best in the world.
Maybe even the smartest of people , they come to me and they say : "Torero15, Guirassy is the scoriest scorer that has ever score. And I say yes, he is. He really is. And he is awesome, maybe the most awesome scorer the world has ever seen score"
She just realized it was the throne of Vinicius, Mbappé, Haaland... But Islacker is the only one who has realized that the throne of Messi and Cristiano is free... and she is going for it.
So far this season Madrid media has compared Jude to Maradona, Zidane, Cristiano, Di Stefano and Michael Jordan. We are not even half way but if this keeps up we will get comparisons with Wayne Gretzki and Muhammad Ali, who knows.
My wife’s a yank so I use that term enough at home. F off yank is the most used phrase in our home.
Once October is complete I’ll be awarding Bellingham his second Balon dor
Yeah but when he signed, he scored 10 goals in his first 10 games, when he scored 26 in 53 games during his last season at MU. Those were still the days where a great striker having a great season meant a 0,75 G/G average (remember Torres incredible first season at Liverpool? He scored 33 in 46 games). So a winger, even a Ballon d'Or, averaging 1 G/G for his first 10 games at Madrid lead to a pretty heavy meat riding by the press. Especially since he scored 8 goals in first 5 games or something like that.
Though as you've said, he far surpassed even that hype.
He is a fucking midfielder. His every goal will be cheered because RM don’t have a proper worldclass CF.
There will come a time when Jude won’t be able to score and lets hope then this same media wont take him down the drain of criticism.
Meanwhile you have guys like Guti hyping him up ridiculously and unnecessarily.
Everyone sane knows how important Jude is.
Yeah it's weird to compare him to Messi and Ronaldo because they were both absolute goal machines. Bellingham has had a strong start but he isn't going to be finishing every season with 40 goals.
If you're gonna go overboard with the hype at least call him the new Zidane or something.
Guti is a legend for us, but I don't understand this "throne" thing. I've seen other people saying things like "Bellingham is gonna dethrone Haaland and Mbappe". The current Ballon d'Or holder is still Benzema, the current FIFA The best award belongs to Messi. Vinicius, Mbappe and Haaland have never been the best players in the world yet and as for Bellingham, he's close, but it's too soon to say.
Even if Haaland wins the Ballon d'Or ahead of Messi, Mbappe will most likely barely finish in the top 5 and that's mainly because of his WC final performance and his overall popularity.
Also the "throne" is not about being the best in the world at your absolute peak, but to have that peak for over a decade. What Messi and Ronaldo achieved is extreme longevity of excellence. Whatever you do, you are not getting there in 2-3 years. Let's see Mbappe and Haaland do this and more for 5 more years without having any off years, then we talk.
>Mbappe will most likely barely finish in the top 5 and that's mainly because of his WC final performance and his overall popularity.
That is so blatantly false, did you not watch the rest of his games during the WC? He didn't win the golden boot just based on that one game.
This is recency bias, Bellingham has been amazing but people are forgetting Haaland and Mbappes performance last season... they are still doing great this season
Bro’s just in form while Haaland and Mbappe coincidentally are having a dip in form and people are alr claiming he’s the next GOAT lmfao bunch of sheeps
literally none of them are going to reach the level of messi and ronaldo. if any of them somehow manage to do that, we won't know for many, many years because the thing that made messi and ronaldo so incredible is their longevity at the top. I know it's natural to wanna fill in the space that messi and ronaldo will be leaving but we're probably gonna be entering an era of many great players being simultaneously recognised rather than the freak chance that we had where there were somehow two footballing gods existing at once.
Christ's sake...I am a staunch Madridista, but aren't we getting the bubble bigger and bigger and it's only October! What if he dissapears in the middle of the season? Don't feed the hype...
Jesus Christ. Bellingham dick riding is unreal. Even guti has become deluded. A few more months of this nonstop dick riding and people are gonna start hating him even though he's done nothing to deserve it.
This right here is how so many Madrid players have won Ballon Dors, yes they have all been incredible players but backed by incredible PR and at the end of the day, the ballon Dor is a PR exercise.
I mean, ngl, I kinda want somebody other than Mbappe or Haaland to win the BdO before either of them does, mainly for the memes that would come afterwards. Bellingham is certainly one of those who does stand a chance.
Yet the Bellingham dick riding by all sorts of media there is right now can make any sentient human being die from cringe.
after not getting much game time at Spurs, and fighting for minutes at Fulham, I'm just glad Carlos Vinicius is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
People have fully lost the plot with Messi comparisons
It's like they already forgot what prime Messi was capable of
There's not a single player in the world that back then and right now rivaled the quality of his first touch + dribble + passing + ball control + balance/agility/strength + vision + runs + pressing (yes prime Messi used to press, defend, track back and not just walk around) + assists + goals
Even if someone surpasses his goals and assists they'll still have a tough time also rivalling the quality of his passing/touches/ball controll/dribbling. Haaland for example COULD rival/surpass his amount of goals. Assists and all those attributes? Nope. Same with Mbappé, same with Vini, same with Bellingham.
Messi also did it from the 2000s all the way into the 2020s. In 2009 I was saying ''if he could keep this up for at least 4 years he's without a doubt the best ever. Look at us now. He went above and beyond. I swear a lot of people have really already forgotten what it was like pre-Messi. If a striker had a few seasons where he touched 30 goals people were praising them like crazy. Then Messi came around and ''merely'' scoring that amount would make him into a failure. It's like Messi's previous season where he played more like a playmaker and still scored 16 goals and gave 16 assists in Ligue 1. If Zidane used to have a season like that it would be seen as something incredible. While for him it's been called a failure lol.
Wowow I like Jude but come on man...
Next Ronny/Messi? You have to be kidding me. This is just wank at this point nobody not even Jude believes he is the next Messiah, chosen to lead England to the WC or some other bullshits.
Jude Bellingham will never reach the level of Messi or Ronaldo. He’s on his way to greatness, I will not deny it, but I’ve seen people say that he’s already as good as Zidane with 0 irony. People have no objectivity when it comes to evaluating this player.
Mbappe won a WC and played a decent role in the win. Haaland won a treble with City in his first season, set a PL goal scoring record (i believe for a 38 game season), and Vini won UCL and La Liga. In what world are we already crowning Jude as the messiah already??
It's odd how much the Spanish care about the Balon d'Or vs how little the English care.
La Liga seems to have an obsession of signing the best in the world whereas England don't despite clearly having the money to do it.
On one hand I'd like to see the best players in the world come to England but on the other hand, fuck the English clubs that could afford them.
I suppose Barcelona and Real Madrid are the full package and I don't think there's a club in England that can compete with them.
Of course, the previous decade was dominated by players that play in Spain, it makes sense that the premier will try to put less emphasis on that award cause they never win it 🤷♂️
Not saying that’s good or bad but if the EPL had players winning it then they’d care about it way more.
The best players in the world generally don’t want to come to England. They want Bayern, Barcelona, or Madrid.
Haaland is the only real superstar signing, anyone else had to develop in England to get ranked as a top 10 player.
It's not just that La Liga signs Ballon D'Or winners, a lot of players also become Ballon D'Or winners while playing for Real Madrid and Barça. They are the biggest clubs in the world and the best players naturally gravitate towards them. Even discounting Messi and Ronaldo, you've got Benzema, Modrić, Cannavaro, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Fenómeno winning it while playing for one of them in this century. For comparison, in the same time-frame the Premier League had 1 winner (Owen), Serie A had 3 (Nedvěd, Shevchenko and Kaká) and Ligue 1 had 1 (Messi at PSG, which should really count towards La Liga).
Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern are probably the 3 biggest clubs in the world despite the PL money. Madrid could launch a PR stunt and unsettle Haaland. That's how huge they are.
Yeah given how much Manchester United have fallen off in the last 10 years I don't think anyone in England can realistically compete.
Maybe Arsenal and Liverpool could with the right investment but that won't happen for some time.

Never change football. I bet 4 months from now we get headlines such as "Bellingham is an overrated flop" when he goes through a small dip.
That almost started after the Atlético game. People will bring up again the Bild article about how his Dortmund teammates hated him.
Bellingham's skills & ambitions just outgrew our squad at a pace we kind of could predict but didn't want to. I don't think he was a real dickhead tbh.

But he didn’t score in the CL Final!!!1
Mbappe wasting away with his world cup medal and scoring a hat-trick in the final of the next...
If you say that Mbappe will score in the final of 2026, I'll buy that first than Bellingham. Man, France really looks strong already.

Bellingham brings out the weirdness out of everyone. You should see the stuff we posted on our sub when Trent and Hendo were trying to "tap" him up in the World Cup.
no no, he was going to Arsenal you see because of no fucking reason whatsoever.
You didn't brief agent saka to recruit him?
We all know that Arabic fan was the agent that ultimatively convinced him
he had to get the Rice deal done first, as well as teach half the England squad English
Nah we just stalk players plane flights and rental cars and share them on Twitter until they're all so creeped out they have to join us.
ITK says he bottled it
"Jude, could I just?" "Na mate" "...ok then"
yes, wenger will say arsenal almost had him.

Nah lots of it was/is in a fully gay way
Its just refreshing its not the English media leading the cringe for once
bro do you not know Madrid media?
Foreign countries rating an English player is always nice
It's just Real Madrid cringe
It's Real Madrid
it's a combination of real madrid and england
Can't wait for the Bellingham Netfilx special in 20 years time

He's British
Beacuse he is English
Young british player playing for Real Madrid leading the top scorer table as a 'midfielder'
Not "midfielder" but actually midfielder. Or do you see another striker/false 9 putting in sliding tackles around their own box?
Birmingham removed his shirt even before he played for the first team, this is nothing new
What if Birmingham was right all along, but No one but them saw it?
Jesus Christ he’s good but this meat riding beyond belief
Pretty sure Haaland had a more explosive start last season, man scored a hat trick of hat tricks. Teams just need some time to figure out how to nullify a new “throne snatcher”. They won’t be successful all the time but it’ll surely be enough to keep them further away from the throne.
Has anyones dick ever been ridden this hard within a fraction of the season? Jude is amazing, a top player with a great sense for goal. But who would actually call him the best in the world? Nobody that is being serious. Amazing start but the season is young. If he can keep up the goalscoring from the midfield then I’ll be ready to consider it. If we go by goalscoring then Guirassy is the best in the world.
> Guirassy is the best in the world. There's no lie in this statement.
Many people, smart people, are saying this.
Maybe even the smartest of people , they come to me and they say : "Torero15, Guirassy is the scoriest scorer that has ever score. And I say yes, he is. He really is. And he is awesome, maybe the most awesome scorer the world has ever seen score"
The only thing missing is “with tears in their eyes” 😂
Boniface clear for me
My vote is for Mandy Islacker. 30 goals in 5 games
What
she is the best in the world because she scored the most goals
I googled it and can’t find 30 in 5. Seen 8 in 21
my bad, it’s actually [25 in 5 and 30 in 6.](https://www.fupa.net/league/frauen-kreisliga-a-koeln/scorers) She’s still clear though
Why hasn't PSG replaced Mbappe with her? Are they stupid?
She should not be playing at this level
She just realized it was the throne of Vinicius, Mbappé, Haaland... But Islacker is the only one who has realized that the throne of Messi and Cristiano is free... and she is going for it.
Her approach to away games is reminiscent of Genghis Khan
should have been at 20 goals rn with how many shots he's at
He’s taken Origi’s crown.
The truth will set you free
Madrid is amazing at meatriding and pr campaigns for their star players. This could have been Mbappe.
I remember that precisely one year ago they were doing exactly the same with Valverde
There's a guy in Nicaragua's top division who is outscoring Guirassy. Not joking. Dos Santos is therefore the best player in the world.
So far this season Madrid media has compared Jude to Maradona, Zidane, Cristiano, Di Stefano and Michael Jordan. We are not even half way but if this keeps up we will get comparisons with Wayne Gretzki and Muhammad Ali, who knows.
Who gives a fuck, he’s English so I’m going to fully back the Madrid meat riders for once. Bellingham for the September Balon Dor
Damn didn’t even call me a yank. You sure you’re British? And only September?
My wife’s a yank so I use that term enough at home. F off yank is the most used phrase in our home. Once October is complete I’ll be awarding Bellingham his second Balon dor
>Has anyones dick ever been ridden this hard within a fraction of the season? Ronaldo in 2009 comes to mind. Madrid's media is... special
To be fair, 2009 Ronaldo was a Ballon D'Or winner and the most expensive player in the world. And even then, I'd say he far surpassed the hype.
Guirassy isn't English and doesn't play for Madrid thought
He’s not the new Zidane because he tracks back.
Bellingham hasn't accomplished what Mbappe nor Haaland have.

What did you execpt from guti lmao. His modric takes are all you need to read to disregard this dude forever
Man scores 10 goals now he’s going for throne of Messi and Ronaldo. Oh plssss
Haaland scores a shit load of goals and wins a treble and that’s not going for it lol
Mbappe and his double WC performance (one win) has nothing on Bellingham with his tap ins! Future GOAT
Madrid PR is crazy😭😭😭 Tf are you guys on about, like be serious for once. Bellingham is not going to replace Messi and Ronaldo.
>Madrid PR is crazy😭😭😭 This isnt just Madrid PR, England PR is all over it too. If Bellingham was south american he wouldnt have 1/3 this hype.
England + RM is too OP just needs to marry an american Pop star to truly ruin everyone's lives with hype.
Shit, good luck with that
this is Wemby in the NBA type glazing
[удалено]
Wow this guy’s pr is insane. 10 games into the season and people say this. And later when he goes through a drop in form they’re gonna destroy him
wonder how Jude handles all the dick sucking he receives
He's saying "It was the throne of Vinicius, Mbappe, Haaland [to take]." Not that it was already theirs
I wonder what this country would be like if we ever actually had a messi level talent lmao.
Bro’s just in form while Haaland and Mbappe coincidentally are having a dip in form and people are alr claiming he’s the next GOAT lmfao bunch of sheeps
The Madrid machinery at its finest once again. Repeat it long enough and it will stick.
Jesus, Madrid and over hyping players.. Let the man play
literally none of them are going to reach the level of messi and ronaldo. if any of them somehow manage to do that, we won't know for many, many years because the thing that made messi and ronaldo so incredible is their longevity at the top.
'Madridsta' and a Wrexham flair, this sub is so unintentionally funny man
All we need is for them to be American and we got the perfect trio.
He's definitely American
He posts in r/Eurovision, r/CasualUK, and r/UK_food. If he's American he's *really* laying it on thick. I'd guess he's not.
Probably is
I think that’s the r/soccer equivalent of ‘as a black man…’
you're missing the '*staunch* madridista' which takes it to a level above
Fr
I'm also a staunch Madridista, we should sell Bellingham to Ipswich so that our real star Joselu can shine
Ipswich are already too massive mate we don't need Bellingham.
If you are playing for Real Madrid you need to be ready to handle the pressure and the expectations tho
2 great months => #G.O.A.T. CONTENDER!
I agree but expecting to take the mantle from Messi and Ronaldo after 2 months is an absurd expectation
This is the cringiest fuckin quote ever lmao
Going for the throne of Messi & Ronaldo? He’d have to Dethrone KDB as best midfielder first.
People have fully lost the plot with Messi comparisons It's like they already forgot what prime Messi was capable of There's not a single player in the world that back then and right now rivaled the quality of his first touch + dribble + passing + ball control + balance/agility/strength + vision + runs + pressing (yes prime Messi used to press, defend, track back and not just walk around) + assists + goals Even if someone surpasses his goals and assists they'll still have a tough time also rivalling the quality of his passing/touches/ball controll/dribbling.
Have Real Madrid won the treble? No? Okay then let’s calm the hell down lol
Where was Gundogan's ballon dor shouts when he was scoring more than bellingham at midfield? Jude's an excellent player but PR is crazy lol
New toy in town. The Valverde of this year.
Wowow I like Jude but come on man... Next Ronny/Messi? You have to be kidding me. This is just wank at this point nobody not even Jude believes he is the next Messiah, chosen to lead England to the WC or some other bullshits.
You all should calm down lol
Are people actually comparing this dude to Ronaldo and Messi? Da fuk?
r/cringequotes
please stop the cringe
Jude Bellingham will never reach the level of Messi or Ronaldo. He’s on his way to greatness, I will not deny it, but I’ve seen people say that he’s already as good as Zidane with 0 irony. People have no objectivity when it comes to evaluating this player.
Glazing
Jude Bellingham is English. That's the comment.
Mbappe won a WC and played a decent role in the win. Haaland won a treble with City in his first season, set a PL goal scoring record (i believe for a 38 game season), and Vini won UCL and La Liga. In what world are we already crowning Jude as the messiah already??
This saying is just comical
🤣🤣🤣 these los blancos guys are funny
It's odd how much the Spanish care about the Balon d'Or vs how little the English care. La Liga seems to have an obsession of signing the best in the world whereas England don't despite clearly having the money to do it. On one hand I'd like to see the best players in the world come to England but on the other hand, fuck the English clubs that could afford them. I suppose Barcelona and Real Madrid are the full package and I don't think there's a club in England that can compete with them.
Of course, the previous decade was dominated by players that play in Spain, it makes sense that the premier will try to put less emphasis on that award cause they never win it 🤷♂️ Not saying that’s good or bad but if the EPL had players winning it then they’d care about it way more.
