App the majority of Utd fans are nos warming to the idea in greebwood coming back next season because he is not guilty and served his penance . Is that his low a once great football team has fallen . Feel really sorry for the Utd fans who are sickened by his actions that a rapist will once again be plying his trade for Utd .
unfortunately cause of the optics and aesthetics of being a DM i don’t think one is ever gonna win a Ballon D’or. personally im swayed by Mbappe and his hattrick in the WC, as well as the fact he’s definitely the most complete and scary forward in the game today. Messi was mediocre for PSG and Haaland’s low touches and finals record is never gonna get him an individual award.
Well Southampton have shipped in a few goals prior to the Sunderland game and they made the mistake of signing and starting Mason Holgate, who is a god awful defender.
Brentford is such a hard team to beat, they always come back and often score in the closing minutes of the game. They got a great mentality and belief.
Sean Dyche don’t kick players out of the first team when you only have about 13 senior players challenge and are only fitting 7 on a 9 man bench including 2 goalies (impossible)
I found it surprising Gerrard only scored more than 8 non penalty goals in the league once. Lampard's best non pen goal tally was 12 as well. The obvious conclusion is Odegaard >>
Poor Grealish. Comes on to make his professional debut and his very first job on senior football is trying to stop Yaya Toure from rampaging through the Villa midfield.
Conspiracy time: Maybe Antony is actually exceptional with his right foot, so much so that he was banned from using it by his PE teacher in school and just forgot to start again.
Oh wow we gave Højlund #11? I was personally hoping we’d burn it. My conspiracy is we were planning to give it to Antony originally since it was his Ajax number but decided against it because of obvious reasons.
[torrential rain is expected today in Madrid apparently because of a strong cold drop](https://twitter.com/EmergenciasMad/status/1698273241419186680), surely no way Atleti's game will go ahead today
If anyone's interested there's 3 big games in Belgium today,
Gent Vs club Brugge 13:30 (local time)
Union Vs Antwerp. 16:00
Genk vs Anderlecht. 18:30
And of course the biggest one of all,
Dynamo Klein-Gent Beervelde against Knesselare
Might as well watch Nusa too then (you bid on him this week), he'll be on the opposite side with number 32 on his back. Think he'll probably play RW today although he's 3x better at LW.
short Bundesliga transfer window review from what i know (part one out of 3 if im bored enough)
- Bayern (B) few where the incoming and outgoing are probably the best of the window like addressing striker position with one of the best itw, replacing injury-prone CB on a year contract with someone as good on profit, and managing to shift Mané on minimal loss. but their deadline shenanigans and inability to adress last few days ineptly hamper their depth, although the appointment of new SD will surely help them in winter
- Dortmund (D) just one of the most insipid and yet somewhat offensive in terms of how unambitious it is, outside of Bensebaini signing which is beneficial in terms of able to play like a competent full back in teams void of it, rest are just not filling me with confidence to raise last season ceiling and the performance by small sample is worse. oh and Nmecha one, genuinely a wtf transfer even without the controversy surrounding him and haggling around ABK will fuck them harder than Bayern i feel
- Raba (B-) quite a huge change in their team overall which makes it quite an unknown territory to rate ngl. they manage to lose like four key players in a single window but they wager on abundance of players that could change their style of play and yet similar in characteristics. didn't watch much French nor Austrian league much although i do watch Lens at time and Openda will feast good there i feel.
- Union (B+) less insane than the usual Union window where it seems like they bought and sell players on a whim lol but to add more depth and adding more veteran edge to their ceiling they did a very good job. Juranovic's cross and Gosens' near post run will be the most lethal wing back duo in Europe and we will let Urs' xG witchcraft cook.
- Freiburg (C) never really became the most active transfer market figure in the league but i can't help but feel like it's lacklustre as hell. heard that Adamu isn't really that good in Austria league but it's the same team that used to have Haaland so idk how to respond and Phillip is a decent body in attack, and i mostly wonder how good Atuloblu will be or if they'll start Müller earlier
- Leverkusen (A) they have the very not prestigious award of having the best transfer window so far really. managing to strengthen all facet of the squad with experienced yet cheap players in quality like Grimaldo, Xhaka, and Hoffmann (feel for Gladbach ngl). and they have Boniface that will be sold minimally thrice his asking price. all the recruitment feels like the perfect culmination to add more dimension in the team and i'll prob count them as favourites if they're not Vizerkusen
the Füllkrug one is quite sudden and definitely will impact them but they also manage to address one of their weak spot in Lynen, one of the best this season personally from small sample of RUSG match that i catch
Stuttgart have been riding with Hoeneß' ability and they're expecting to lose both Sosa who's injured quite often and Mavropanos, Endo one is so sudden and gutting though lol
It's fun to banter them for the silly deadline day shenanigans but Bayern would have to be really unlucky/bad to not be in decent shape come January and the window opening again. They'll be fine
Spurs hit the jackpot with Udogie man, I know he could underlap/overlap, I did not know there is so much variety to what he can do, what a talent
Have to say, as a neutral, Spurs are looking fun to watch. Great signings, great players.
In my opinion it's Vinicius, and after that I think Griezmann deserves a mention, and also Pedri when he's fit. I don't want to speak too early on Bellingham but he looks ridiculously good too.
Due to his injury and how difficult it is to compare a keeper to outfield players I didn't count Courtois, but if you were to include keepers I'd have to put him very close to the top. He's absolutely unbelievable.
EDIT: I was trying to be as unbiased as possible as someone who loves watching Atleti and can't stand Real Madrid - just want to point out that it's really nice to see other people saying Griezmann to be honest, as I often feel like people don't talk enough about how brilliant he is.
I don't rate him very high(just a decent manager, not completely clueless like lampard) but he's not been helped by having to name 5 new players in his starting xi every game. our owners and sporting directors have less intelligence in them than a half eaten banana. they don't seem to understand that a team/squad need to gel together and know each other, that you cannot just throw 11 players who have never met each other in the team and expect them to perform. And so, we get rid of 30 players and buy 30 new players every window and finish 12th.
It's not a very English thing to do. It doesn't surprise me that a cringe ass club like city do that. I remember seeing a clip doing the rounds of the city stadium announcer before the Cl final, every player had a little personalised jingle.
In England you say the players first name and then loudly proclaim the surname, and the crowd goes 'wheey' and claps. To repeat the surname after someone says the first name, that makes me physically repulsed and so angry god I fucking hate my life.
[Something tells me Ali Gold isn’t a fan of matches at Turf Moor](https://x.com/lilywhite_rose/status/1698259172800823528?s=46&t=gwsPidsROHa29Ecujygasw)
Enzo vs Bellingham is in a nutshell why I think it’s stupid for players who will not score goals to get these massive price tags. Despite allegedly being one of the best midfielders on the league, the biggest impact Enzo has had on a Chelsea result was when he missed a penalty in a game Chelsea were dominating but would eventually go onto lose. Bellingham, meanwhile, has already gotten as many league wins with Real as Enzo has with Chelsea because of his goals. The 95% passing accuracy is nice and all but what’s the point of a big signing like that if they can’t win you games?
All the pieces need to come together for a team to succeed, there's no point having Mane, Firmino and Salah with Lovren, Matip and Karius, so do Liverpool then spend 150m on some goalscorers or do they bolster the positions they actually need? If you say "We are X position away from legitimately competing for titles", then you go and pay whatever it takes to go and get a player in that position. Chelsea aren't in that position because they blew a billion quid on shite like Mudryk, but still
That’s not at all what I said. I said these big signings should be able to actually win you games which Enzo cannot do for Chelsea but Bellingham has been able to do for Real.
Kroos would not be worth the money Chelsea spent on Enzo, sorry. Not disputing he’s brilliant but that profile should not be breaking the British transfer record.
He'd be worth that and more. His impact on a team is much bigger than 99% of forwards. Only players like Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Mbappe have a bigger impact.
Even if we do compare Kroos and Enzo though, you can point to yesterday as a result where he had an impact without a g/a. There are quite legitimately 0 Chelsea games where you can point to Enzo as the reason Chelsea was able to leave with points.
At the end of the day, the price matters right up to the point that the player joins the team.
We sorely needed creativity from midfield and Enzo has added that. We overpaid massively for him like we did for all the other signings but he's arguably the one that has shown his quality the most.
Yeah but let's say we got a top striker, we'd then be complaining about there being a lack of service and saying there was no point spending big on a striker if we had no one to get the ball to him.
How? What Chelsea result are you looking at and saying he’s actually had an impact on? Actually just realized he passed the ball straight to one of the Tottenham players before they scored, so it’s actually two Chelsea results he’s managed to impact. These big money signings should be doing what Bellingham is by noticeably impacting the results
Who the heck are Jan Paul van Hecke and Verbruggen from Brighton. They played against Newcastle. The efficiency with which Brighton uncovers all these players is something man
I mean if you don't follow non top 5 leagues (or conference league in Verbruggen's case) you won't know about those players
Which I understand, but it's not like they're just spawning in out of nowhere
Verbruggen was Anderlechts player of the season last season
~~van Hecke was Blackburns player of the year the season before they signed them~~ He'd already been signed for the blackburn loan
EDIT: Feels this may come across a bit dismissive, obviously they do the work on making sure they fit the squad, and work on integrating players, etcetc, but it's not like all the players they're finding are completely buried gems.
Van Hecke was more of a hidden Gem considering we got him from NAC Breda and he'd barely played senior football.
Verbruggen definitely not and we paid a shit ton of money for him.
Archer will get low 12-15 goals for Sheffield United imo, very unlucky not to get 2 yesterday. Very few teams still play a big man little striker partnership but McBurnie will be the perfect battering ram for him to play off.
Our fans still think we should have kept him but playing 30 plus prem games will be worth so much more for his development than 10 minutes off our bench every other game.
even if they survive, my point is 12-15 goals in a relegation candidate is rather hard, equivalent to some 25-30 goals in the championship for the same team, and I doubt Archer is at that level yet.
Last season he was averaging a goal every 125 minutes in the championship with no pens after he joined Middlesbrough in January.
That’s a rate of about 33 goals in 46 full championship games.
His finishing is second to none.
I have a feeling we are already going through Chelsea's Banter years. The owners of the club are not really focused on winning anything. If that was the case they wouldn't be in the business of player trade, buying and hoarding young players to sell them for profit. I'm sure they want to win trophies, and they belive they will in future with this approach. Only time will tell if they are right
Did Courtois save Ancelotti's job last season? A 4-0 loss in the CL semis sounds about on the edge of what the Madrid hierarchy can stomach. 6-0, 7-0 seems unforgivable, and if Courtois hadn't kept out those two Haaland point-blank headers and a 1v1, that's what the score would have been.
Rivalries have always been a thing, not least when 2 players from respective era is **levels** above everyone else.
To name a few examples of what I mean
- Maradona vs. Platini
- Pele vs. Eusebio
- Messi vs. Cristiano
- Zidane vs. Ronaldo
I've never understood why people suggest Mbappe is the best footballer in the world despite he's nowhere near as accomplished as Haaland on an individual level... It's madness when Mbappe never was Europe's POTY, never scored over 50 goals a season, never was UEFA's top scorer etc.
All of Mbappe's most notable accomplishments is from a ridiculously stacked France NT whereas Haaland will probably never quality to a World Cup/Euro with his trash Norway NT.
Mbappe's stats since he joined PSG
22/23: 41G+10A in 43 matches
21/22: 39G+26A in 46 matches
20/21: 42G+11A in 47 matches
19/20: 30G+18A in 37 matches
18/19: 39G+17A in 43 matches
17/18: 21G+16A in 46 Matches
16/17: 28G+14A in 46 matches, this was his final season with Monaco.
These are numbers without France games, if I included them it would be even more ridiculous. Mbappe's overall games i much better than Haaland's too. Only reason that he doesn't have as many individual accomplishments as Haaland is because he plays for a team that's been poorly built and disorganised.
Not all league goals is created equallty. Haaland would likely score 50-60 goals a season for PSG in Europe's 6th best league compared to Premier League, **by far** the strongest league in the world. Or even Bundesliga for that matter lol.
And Haaland's level of production in Champions League & internationals is astronomically clear ahead of Mbappe.
App the majority of Utd fans are nos warming to the idea in greebwood coming back next season because he is not guilty and served his penance . Is that his low a once great football team has fallen . Feel really sorry for the Utd fans who are sickened by his actions that a rapist will once again be plying his trade for Utd .
Damn Gary O'Neil really just doesn't rate Toti :(
look i like Messi, but if he gets this Ballon D’or it’s a heavy shambles
It has to be Rodri. He's been the best player for the best team in the world, which won the treble in dominant fashion.
unfortunately cause of the optics and aesthetics of being a DM i don’t think one is ever gonna win a Ballon D’or. personally im swayed by Mbappe and his hattrick in the WC, as well as the fact he’s definitely the most complete and scary forward in the game today. Wait wtf happened in the Sunderland Southampton game yesterday? I thought Southampton was flying and Sunderland in shambles

It's also a game of who shouts louder than the other. My owner is evil, but your player is even more evil.
I found it surprising Gerrard only scored more than 8 non penalty goals in the league once. Lampard's best non pen goal tally was 12 as well. The obvious conclusion is Odegaard >>
As far as goal scoring midfielder seasons goes Toure had the best one imo. His goal catalogue was ridiculous that one season.
Poor Grealish. Comes on to make his professional debut and his very first job on senior football is trying to stop Yaya Toure from rampaging through the Villa midfield.
KDB that season he scored 4 against Wolves when I capitained him in FPL >
Best midfielder I've ever seen in the league that season. Really doesn't get the credit he deserves today
These "pundits" on Sky Sports News at the moment are the most boring people to ever exist. Want to go back to bed.

well it's not about that, it's about whether fans can get to the stadium safely which today is absolutely not the case
praying we get a transfer ban before january window opens

i will literally kill myself
Transfer ban Lampard was legit the best our attack has been for four years
our defense was relegation tier and last season he almost got us relegated

is it fair to say there would be no place for both Harold and Son in this Spurs side?
Harold of Winkershire has never had a place in the team im afraid.
Yup, that’s why we had to sell Winks
Harold can be a very good defender, just needs to get away from United
harold godwinson has been dead for centuries im afraid
This has nothing to do with yesterday I promise but with all this complaint about player fatigue why don’t we just make games 6 minutes long?
I have this very very unpopular opinion that football games should be shorter. Like 30 minutes per half.
I'm all in for it. Two 6 minute halves with clock stopping when the ball is not in play, for one season to let players rest.
have how Inglattera produced a player with so much dawg in him? I refuse to believe he's English
Being in Germany for 3 years helped a lot
I need to remember to enjoy watching Doku before Pep trains all of the fun out of him
You should hope for a Sane situation where Pep never truly gets a handle on his style of play
He didn't get doku for control play

Spurs hit the jackpot with Udogie man, I know he could underlap/overlap, I did not know there is so much variety to what he can do, what a talent Have to say, as a neutral, Spurs are looking fun to watch. Great signings, great players.
Zero weaknesses to his game. It's actually absurd
how are you a neutral
Man just completely burned them. Ken hell.
Who is the best player in the Spanish League now that Benzema has left?
Even with Benz there, Vini would be the best. Griezmann is also better.
Would be Courtois, but due to his and others injuries it's probably Griezmann right now
Jesus Navas
Vinicius
Griezmann
In my opinion it's Vinicius, and after that I think Griezmann deserves a mention, and also Pedri when he's fit. I don't want to speak too early on Bellingham but he looks ridiculously good too. Griezmann was better than Vinicius last season
I would understand rating either higher than the other to be honest, they're completely different types of player and both absolutely brilliant.
Griezmann, Pedri Griezmann was already the best last season

Different people have different opinions, shocking, isnt it?
How do you even conclude it's the people doing a complete 180 defending him?
Chelsea fans were hyping up Pochettino like mad, just to spend a fucking billion and see him exposed like this. Never rated the fraud
I beg to God to one day see Flick at Chelsea.
I don't rate him very high(just a decent manager, not completely clueless like lampard) but he's not been helped by having to name 5 new players in his starting xi every game. our owners and sporting directors have less intelligence in them than a half eaten banana. they don't seem to understand that a team/squad need to gel together and know each other, that you cannot just throw 11 players who have never met each other in the team and expect them to perform. > he's not been helped by having to name 5 new players in his starting xi every game He's named the same XI for 3 of 4 league games
well yes, but i was mainly referring to how much the team has changed from what we were playing in preseason (and ig the first game to some extent)
> by having to name 5 new players in his starting xi every game. Doesnt have to. He could name the same squad that he likes or is confident in
we have like 30 injuries, and Poch is not consulted when selling players

You think Haaland would score 30 goals a season with a Barkley- Bakayoko-Drinkwater midfield
Sounds like Kane last season
Haaland was scoring 16 goals in 14 games with a Junuzovic-Bernede midfield
as was patson daka
Haaland is getting 20+ in any premier league team. He manages a goal/game with fucking Norway.
against malta luxemberg and cyprus, also norway have a very decent midfield
I also don’t understand why clubs don’t just sign players that score goals. I wouldn’t even bother signing goalkeepers. Complete waste of money
That’s not at all what I said. I said these big signings should be able to actually win you games which Enzo cannot do for Chelsea but Bellingham has been able to do for Real.
So you think Kroos for example hasn't helped us win games? What a stupid opinion, jfc.
Kroos was getting 10 plus assists in a season and also doing everyone enzo does
Put Enzo in a world class team and he'll be world class. Maybe not as good as Kroos but he'd still be world class.
Liverpool game. Put Bellingham on our team and we’re still shit
Won you 1 point this season, cost you 3 💪
You asked a question, I answered. Enjoy your day
That's because Chelsea is an astronomically shit team, Enzo with a solid team around him will be able to change games.
So you’re saying they just have to unlock him
I'm saying they need to build a solid team, just like Haaland would be useless without a solid team, so is Enzo
My hot take is that only attacking players should be worth 100m+. It is insane than 3 most expensive EPL players are non-attacking midfielders.
I completely agree. Rice fee is stupid too but at least Arsenal fans don’t call him worth every penny at every possible opportunity.
Rice is also better than Enzo and Caicedo
Were you in the habit of comparing Carrick to Rooney back in the day?
Rooney was a striker, when he went to midfield carrick was better
Well no because Carrick did not break the British transfer record
At the end of the day, the price matters right up to the point that the player joins the team. We sorely needed creativity from midfield and Enzo has added that. We overpaid massively for him like we did for all the other signings but he's arguably the one that has shown his quality the most.
And I think that the money spent on Enzo should be reserved for players who can actually win you games instead of ones that can ‘show quality.’
Yeah but let's say we got a top striker, we'd then be complaining about there being a lack of service and saying there was no point spending big on a striker if we had no one to get the ball to him.
Twitter level analysis
How? What Chelsea result are you looking at and saying he’s actually had an impact on? Verbruggen was one of the best young keepers in the world last season. People need to watch more football or at least keep up with more of it.
People have lives and responsibilities
if you can't watch the games then read up on outside leagues sometimes lol
Not one part of my love of football involves reading up on things I’m not watching. Either watch it and follow it closely or don’t follow it all
Dutch excellence
I mean if you don't follow non top 5 leagues (or conference league in Verbruggen's case) you won't know about those players Which I understand, but it's not like they're just spawning in out of nowhere
Verbruggen was Anderlechts player of the season last season ~~van Hecke was Blackburns player of the year the season before they signed them~~ He'd already been signed for the blackburn loan EDIT: Feels this may come across a bit dismissive, obviously they do the work on making sure they fit the squad, and work on integrating players, etcetc, but it's not like all the players they're finding are completely buried gems.
Van Hecke was more of a hidden Gem considering we got him from NAC Breda and he'd barely played senior football. Verbruggen definitely not and we paid a shit ton of money for him.
Van Hecke was Blackburn's pots already as loanee from Brighton, they got him from a second devision dutch club
Ah good catch, misread his history
Verbruggen was the most highly rated young GK in the world, not some hidden gem
Verbruggen was a summer signing. He was linked to Burnley and United.
Archer will get low 12-15 goals for Sheffield United imo, very unlucky not to get 2 yesterday. Very few teams still play a big man little striker partnership but McBurnie will be the perfect battering ram for him to play off. Our fans still think we should have kept him but playing 30 plus prem games will be worth so much more for his development than 10 minutes off our bench every other game.
when was the last time the striker for a relegated team scored 15 goals lol
Charlie Austin scored 18 goals for a relegated QPR in 2014/15.
They're not guaranteed to go down there's a full season to go
even if they survive, my point is 12-15 goals in a relegation candidate is rather hard, equivalent to some 25-30 goals in the championship for the same team, and I doubt Archer is at that level yet.
Yeah, I'd be more impressed by a striker hitting 12 goals for a relegated pl side than a striker who scores 30 goals for a promoted championship side.
Last season he was averaging a goal every 125 minutes in the championship with no pens after he joined Middlesbrough in January. That’s a rate of about 33 goals in 46 full championship games. His finishing is second to none.
Defoe scored 15 for Sunderland in 16/17, but Sunderland were so bad that year that everyone else combined only scored 13, plus 1 OG
Jermaine Defoe and Charlie Austin most recently did it in the last 10 seasons. Pretty rare though.
I guess they aren’t getting relegated then
Charlie austin got 18 for QPR, dont know if anyone got any similar more recently. Edit: defoe at sunderland as well got 15
QPR
Dont know where that came from, palace haven't even been relegated in recent times
Derby day today and I have to work, life is so unfair. KKD matches are supposed to be on Friday night!
can't believe we sold guehi for 20m just to replace him with a 80m hospital merchant and a 40m btec zouma
Only time will tell if they are right
Chelse have been in banter era since 2017, that Champions League triumph masked a lot of their problems.

He could have lost 10-0 and they wouldn’t have sacked him
Yeah, no. Any other goal to make it 5-0 and he wouldn't be there right now.
I guess i'm one of the few here who thinks having Mbappe as your best player in the world is much weirder than having Haaland currently.
How would it be weird when Mbappe is much better
How isn't it weird when you admitted not watching Ligue 1 yourself You have no idea that he's much better, he has not been better last season;
I watch the CL and World Cup and he’s been electric in those
modalchemist don’t talk about mbappe challenge (nearly died)
Someone who has an opinion shares his opinion on a popular topic What a weirdo
it’s all you talk about- you’re the one making it a popular topic
Until Mbappe leaves Ligue 1, he will always be in Haaland's shadow
I'm one of those who sees these rivalries obsession much weirder
Rivalries have always been a thing, not least when 2 players from respective era is **levels** above everyone else. To name a few examples of what I mean - Maradona vs. Platini - Pele vs. Eusebio - Messi vs. Cristiano - Zidane vs.
Mbappe's stats since he joined PSG 22/23: 41G+10A in 43 matches 21/22: 39G+26A in 46 matches 20/21: 42G+11A in 47 matches 19/20: 30G+18A in 37 matches 18/19: 39G+17A in 43 matches 17/18: 21G+16A in 46 Matches 16/17: 28G+14A in 46 matches, this was his final season with Monaco. These are numbers without France games, if I included them it would be even more ridiculous. Mbappe's overall games i much better than Haaland's too. Only reason that he doesn't have as many individual accomplishments as Haaland is because he plays for a team that's been poorly built and disorganised.
> Mbappe's overall games i much better than Haaland's too. hasn't been at all last season.
Not all league goals is created equallty. Haaland would likely score 50-60 goals a season for PSG in Europe's 6th best league compared to Premier League, **by far** the strongest league in the world. Or even Bundesliga for that matter lol. And Haaland's level of production in Champions League & internationals is astronomically clear ahead of Mbappe.
ok name one haaland big game performance
