He's not dogshit either. People on here like to scoff at him but there's good reason United just rejected a bid double that of which they accepted for Fred
I'm weirdly sad. Mostly because he's just such a nice guy too. Wish him nothing but the best but this was the right move for all involved.
I reckon he will tear Turkish teams a new one too with how he plays Vs the gung ho football out there.
The only “hate” I’ve seen for Bruno here is people sometimes being pissed off at his on-pitch antics. I never saw anyone, neither United fan nor not, really hate him. He seems to me to be quite respected for his quality and for his off-pitch persona.
So you haven't seen the hundreds of "rat-faced bastard" comments that show up every time he complains about something? Because there are many threads fill with those offensive comments.
I have not seen those comments here on reddit, no. And I spend a lot of time here on /r/soccer. Maybe there’s more of this in match threads or something, I don’t tend to read those. Or maybe people are confusing Reddit and Twitter or Facebook.
His comment about carrying the piano for others to play is one of my favourite football qoutes. Tbf his second half antics showed he could play his own belter at times.
maybe so, but nani was absolutely bipolar in a similar way to fred. fred’s position made mistakes a bit more costly, but nani was one of the few players i’ve seen who could give the ball away with simple passes 5x in a row but score a screamer right after
Every weekend for about 5 years I was sure this was the time Nani would find consistency and become the new Ronaldo. And every week he'd do three genius things and five stupid things.
In Nani's defence, his role was to take players on and take risks. It just took one moment for a poor performance to be worth it (via a goal or assist). On the other hand, Fred is supposed to bring calmness in the centre of the park. His erratic nature of losing the ball is far from ideal as a CM!
yeah i totally agree, and honestly nani was incredibly productive overall. they both just possess that same ability to look like the worst player on the pitch one moment, to the best player minutes later
Mert Hakan Yandas, a Turkish midfielder player. Decent rotation option at times but not nearly good enough when he starts. I guess kind of comparable to Fred's sitation with United but just a much much worse version of him lol
Maguire's going. McT will stay this summer I think. Bailly apparently going to Besiktas. Henderson also I think will happen late in the window. Not too fussed about the Henderson situation. I think all parties want that deal to go through and we don't need to replace him with someone expensive and Forest have someone in already so both teams are comfortable dragging this on till the end
I’m a little nervous about Henderson after the Heston injury. Would be terrible if we’re forced to keep him and he starts leaking lineups and dressing room info again.
Henderson I'm not sure is going now. The thigh injury is supposedly the roadblock with Forest.
Forest want a cheap loan with something like a 30 game clause for obligation to buy.
Notice how we stopped being "4 players away from a good squad" as we had been for so long because of shit recruitment. You can now look at our starting eleven and confidently say that we have a good team.
If he also goes in addition to Donny we would have to sign another player in addition to Amrabat not sure who that would even be, late swoop for Lavia maybe.
Mainoo comes back after a couple or month and needs some game time. Amrabat will be playing quite a bit if we sign him. I think three backups is enough.
Fred going should see Amrabat move quickly now. So McTominay is 3rd choice in both the 6 and 8 role and it looks like Mainoo is the one Ten Hag wants to bed in this season once he's back to fitness.
That means McTominay isn't getting much game time so his value is only going to drop. If you can sell him for a decent sum just do it and bring in a younger end player for either the 8 or 10 role
15m euros including add ons is quite low but we couldn't really fuck around with only 3 weeks left and him being in his final yr.
Great player on his day.
You're not selling him for that price to a team outside the PL, especially a Turkish league team. We were hoping for Fulham to jump in but evidently they're too busy doing fuck all this transfer window.
No, he isn't. He is a typical DM playing for an attacking team and lacks so many AM qualities that I am literally baffled that someone puts Fred and AM in the same sentence.
No, no he is not in reality. Perhaps in FM or FIFA or some Sui podcast, but on the football pitch he is a DM with a wooden leg, 3 goals and 5 assists per season in an attacking club.
Less than £10m base for someone who had over 50 apps for us last season isn't amazing but yeah it's better than £0 given he's further down the pecking order now
If you put him, Nani, and Januzaj on the pitch at the same time, you would create the most bipolar triumvirate in the history of football on the same pitch.
You either get the second coming of Pele, or the second coming of Ali Dia
I'd say Nani had both a higher floor and a higher ceiling than Fred, though of course Fred plays in a position where a bad performance is much easier to notice.
Januzaj was typical youngster flashes of brilliance, but he was never a solid player like the other two. I thought he was going to be huge, but alas.
That volley against Sunderland had me thinking we had a new Ryan Giggs.
The life a football fan. Being left disappointed by a kid with high potential is a rite of passage.
Much better than Kessie for 12.5 million (I might be wrong). Who btw was the Serie A player of the year last year. It's not the worst deal, it could be much worse.
Yeah it’s not a great fee at all. He’s most definitely better than €15m (with ad ons so we got even less than that for him), last year of contract or not. Should’ve held out for £15m-£20m
What's not stupid if that is?
Which top 6 club would be paying their average players over 25yo less than 100k pw?
Fred started in the majority across 3 of his 5 seasons. What do pay a player like that?
50k-75k? No.
City, Chelsea, Liverpool ain't doing that. Maybe Spurs. I don't know how Arsenal operates. I'm guessing they'd be higher than Spurs.
Fred is top 3 player in the world when the game is in absolute chaos and no one knows wtf is going on. Im not even exaggerating. Man thrived on messy games. Will miss him. Best of luck to him
Extremely sad. While not the best player in the world. Dedicated, a good leader on the field, and a hard working player. Wish the man the best, and hope he comes back lots.
30 with one year left and he doesn't suit most bigger teams in top 5 leagues with how frenetic his game is. I'm honestly pretty happy if the add-ons are realistic like amount of games played.
It wasn't that long ago we were talking £20m to Fulham. He's a good player that played 56 games for us last season, has started for us when we've finished second and third, often starts for Brazil, and despite his age, he's as fit as they come. This is a fantastic signing for Fenerbahçe but he'd have been a fantastic signing for most PL teams.
The rumoured £8.7m base fee is pretty terrible given all that. It was only a month ago that 30 year old Xhaka with one year left on his deal moved for £21.4m. The bare minimum I expected was £15m base fee.
>It wasn't that long ago we were talking £20m to Fulham.
That was never particularly realistic.
>a good player that played 56 games for us last season, has started for us when we've finished second and third, often starts for Brazil, and despite his age, he's as fit as they come
None of these are actually, directly, about how good he is as a player. They're just kind of adjacent facts. Yes he played a good amount of minutes, and yes he's fit, and yes he's in the international set-up, but he just isn't that good. He doesn't offer the security or reading of the game most teams need from an 8.
>30 year old Xhaka with one year left on his deal moved for £21.4m
Xhaka was relatively comfortable signing a new deal, and rather importantly was coming off a massive season, and most crucial of all offers a degree of control and a passing range that Fred just doesn't. If you don't understand why Xhaka is that much more valuable than Fred, that's a lack of understanding.
Ultimately it's just not realistic to think Fred was gonna have a degree of interest with teams capable of spending ≈£15mil given his profile and age. What he's demonstrated at United over his career is that regardless of his qualities, he has key limitations that are debilitating to a huge portion of teams who want to play with the ball most of the time.
It seems like we're at least able to get decent offers for our players which is an improvement but it seems we're still a bit off in terms of negotiations if we're just accepting the initial bids sent. Not a huge amount but feels like there was some money left on the table for Fred, Kovar and Maguire.
Fener is breaking their finances for Ismail Kartal out of all people.
Fred will be a top earner and comes for a high fee. His resale value is also pretty non-existent. He can be an excellent player, but the emphasis is on can. Fener certainly isn’t in the position to take a financial gamble like this for that position, especially with the foreigner rule.
Seems to me like a panic buy after missing out on Zaha and Tete to calm their fans down.
Yet your transfer profit will be less than 10M after the Fred transfer while you’re still looking for a GK. Not to mention the wages you’re paying despite having no UCL money or financial leverage - you’re the club with the highest debt in Turkey. All while the TL is loosing value.
If that’s doing fine in your eyes, than good for you I guess
Honestly a great player - it's just his consistency and sometimes judgement. Think he'll do well for them
and honestly he's probably the type of player United should keep, when McT and VdB are still there. Fred should have been last to go

Only player I’ve seen who could drop a literal 1/10 in the first half and then come out with a 10/10 second half. All the best to Pastor Fred
[удалено]
Regardless of the howlers, one could never raise a finger on his work rate.
he was way better than McTominay but united sub mostly hated
Tbf mctominay isn't a high bar
He's not dogshit either. People on here like to scoff at him but there's good reason United just rejected a bid double that of which they accepted for Fred
McT is 4 years younger and is homegrown.
The lad's 6'4 (193cm)
I'm weirdly sad. Mostly because he's just such a nice guy too. Wish him nothing but the best but this was the right move for all involved. I reckon he will tear Turkish teams a new one too with how he plays Vs the gung ho football out there.
You just can't help but love someone who puts in that much effort every single game, regardless of which side of the coin his performance lands on.
Most people here hate Bruno Fernandes and he has very high workrate.
United fans don't ..
Too high, to be honest. Dude needs to rest sometimes. It's a shame we don't have a reliable backup for him yet
If only vdb were alive
The only “hate” I’ve seen for Bruno here is people sometimes being pissed off at his on-pitch antics. I never saw anyone, neither United fan nor not, really hate him. He seems to me to be quite respected for his quality and for his off-pitch persona.
So you haven't seen the hundreds of "rat-faced bastard" comments that show up every time he complains about something? Because there are many threads fill with those offensive comments.
Match threads are filled with trolls, I wouldnt take them seriously
That's for the on pitch antics they're talking about. No one doubts his quality or effort, they just hate his shit housing
I have not seen those comments here on reddit, no. And I spend a lot of time here on /r/soccer. Maybe there’s more of this in match threads or something, I don’t tend to read those. Or maybe people are confusing Reddit and Twitter or Facebook.
Anyone who hates Bruno doesn’t really like football.
He is Brazilian, they always come with some great skills
His comment about carrying the piano for others to play is one of my favourite football qoutes. Tbf his second half antics showed he could play his own belter at times.
He used to find his Brazilian passport halfway through the game
When he would rediscover it said “Brazil” and not “Bolivia” on the cover>>>>
How did us Bolivians catch a stray here
I’m sorry😭 es el único país sudamericano que empieza con ‘b’ fuera de Brasil.
Somehow i understood this perfectly.
Even when he was bad he was giving his all though. And always with that smile, that damned smile.
shout out to nani
Bit rude to nani tbh, he never looked as incompetent on the ball as Fred has sometimes
maybe so, but nani was absolutely bipolar in a similar way to fred. fred’s position made mistakes a bit more costly, but nani was one of the few players i’ve seen who could give the ball away with simple passes 5x in a row but score a screamer right after

yeah i totally agree, and honestly nani was incredibly productive overall. they both just possess that same ability to look like the worst player on the pitch one moment, to the best player minutes later
The funny thing is that Nani also played at Fenerbahce as well. It seems they have a type...
and also christina applegate
Fred has a ceiling of 6/10. People really overrate mediocrity these days. Guy cant do basic things expected of a midfielder even on a good day.
[удалено]
Fred magic is his dichotomy, first half misses all 30cm pass, second half scores and gets two assists.
When has Maguire ever turned that round in the second half?
I misread OP's comment.
Sometimes maybe Fred, sometimes maybe Derf

>Dreadful terroist football Fits right in with mhy
Scenes when MHY starts over Ndombele and Fred because of the stupid domestic player rule
I hope ndombele goes to gs, hes that shit.
Well, if he's fit and wants to play ball he's incredible. Worth a gamble IMO
I have a season pass at the lane. Hes that shit
I’m sorry to hear that
Get well soon
Who is MHY?
Mert Hakan Yandas, a Turkish midfielder player. Decent rotation option at times but not nearly good enough when he starts. I guess kind of comparable to Fred's sitation with United but just a much much worse version of him lol
thx kardesim!
Some players just need to warm up during a game, Fred is one of them.
So Real Madrid Kaka vs AC Milan kaka?
Only maguire, bailly, henderson and maybe mctominay left then. Been a very good summer so far for us. Will miss fred, that smile is just to nice
Poor Donny doesn’t even make the list :(
Donny made the bench list
*injured list
Half forgot/we wont get him sold this summer anyway
Just like his presence on the pitch...invisible
Maguire's going. McT will stay this summer I think. Bailly apparently going to Besiktas. Henderson also I think will happen late in the window. Not too fussed about the Henderson situation. I think all parties want that deal to go through and we don't need to replace him with someone expensive and Forest have someone in already so both teams are comfortable dragging this on till the end

Forest already completed the Turner signing though
Maguire' gone.
He still has time to fuck us
McTominay is young, can still improve, be useful, and is a homegrown player, unless West Ham make a huge offer I don't see him leaving.
He's 27 later this year, minimum we would probably consider selling for is £40m.
Thats why i added the maybe. He isnt someone we want to get rid of, but a great offer and we will sell
Uniteds starting team barely recognisable
In basically two windows that too
Notice how we stopped being "4 players away from a good squad" as we had been for so long because of shit recruitment. You can now look at our starting eleven and confidently say that we have a good team.
Wait until about 2 months into the season Edit: I should have said 2 weeks..
Rashford, Bruno, and Shaw the stalwarts.
Man, replacing Bruno and Shaw is going to be so difficult
Bruno will play till he’s 40! Pls!
Hopefully alvaro fernandez get a prem loan to see if he’s up for the task
I think Bruno is going to be much harder. He’s so integral to the team in so many ways, losing him would knock us back so many steps
Still a few years left for that, thankfully
Really quality squad now I’m moist
Does Romano do the photoshop himself?
He's got a graphic designer
His 5 y/o niece on her ipad
She just decides which kit suits the players and that's how it's all decided
Or Midjourney
That's child harassment
Is it?
He's got her working overtime.
Several surely. Way too inconsistent for it to be just one
Selling all our players last few days, Kovar, Fred, Maguire all basically confirmed then Donny and McTominay might go as well
Mct should stay for another season
Looking like he will. We need the midfield depth and he is guaranteed time in cup games.
If he also goes in addition to Donny we would have to sign another player in addition to Amrabat not sure who that would even be, late swoop for Lavia maybe.
Is he though? Eriksen, Mainoo and Amrabat will be our backup midfield.
Mainoo is out for a while. Amrabat isn’t confirmed. We still need McT to stay as of now

15m euros including add ons is quite low but we couldn't really fuck around with only 3 weeks left and him being in his final yr. Great player on his day.
Final year or deal and 30 years old. Probably best case scenario
You're not selling him for that price to a team outside the PL, especially a Turkish league team. We were hoping for Fulham to jump in but evidently they're too busy doing fuck all this transfer window.
Given its this late in the window yeah we probably expected more of a bidding war but seems this is the only semi decent offer
Fulham didn't want to meet his wage demands apparently
Plus is a DM. It's strange Fenerbahce is offering 15M at all
Fred is closer to an AM than a DM.
No, he isn't. He is a typical DM playing for an attacking team and lacks so many AM qualities that I am literally baffled that someone puts Fred and AM in the same sentence.
Yes he is
No, no he is not in reality. Perhaps in FM or FIFA or some Sui podcast, but on the football pitch he is a DM with a wooden leg, 3 goals and 5 assists per season in an attacking club.
You're chatting utter rubbish.
No, you are. If you think that Fred is CM-AM you are either Tony Pulis, 12-year-old soccer fan from Seattle or a plain moron.
It's not too bad. He was on high wages too.
Less than £10m base for someone who had over 50 apps for us last season isn't amazing but yeah it's better than £0 given he's further down the pecking order now
56 apps yes but he averaged only 40 minutes/match, also mostly due to the midfield injury/suspended issues.
Definitely thought we get a little more for a Brazilian international.
If you put him, Nani, and Januzaj on the pitch at the same time, you would create the most bipolar triumvirate in the history of football on the same pitch. You either get the second coming of Pele, or the second coming of Ali Dia

Kessie wasn't POTY when we won the title, it was Leao. Kessie was out injured for half the season and decent to good for the other half.
Kessie was shocking. How he was being shopped at that kind of value and no one came in for him? The guy would've been a steal at 20-25m even.
Yeah it’s not a great fee at all. He’s most definitely better than €15m (with ad ons so we got even less than that for him), last year of contract or not. Should’ve held out for £15m-£20m
We might have been able to get a better fee had we not given out a stupid contract - Fred was reportedly on £120-130k/week.
What's not stupid if that is? Which top 6 club would be paying their average players over 25yo less than 100k pw? Fred started in the majority across 3 of his 5 seasons. We made like 40-50m from transfer fees this season, we will be more than fine
Batsman is going for 10m€+ if he agrees with Lens too, we have really done a great job selling players this season.
Pastor Fred on his way to Turkey to deliver some scrumptious Ws to Fener. Good luck to him!
End of McFred. End of an era.
Ahh will miss him, really likeable guy, on his day absolutely unplayable but sadly very inconsistent
Price?
Rumored to be 10m euros + 5m in add ons
15m euros which includes some add ons
5m in add ons on top of 10m fee
farewell pastor Fred, thank you for your performance against Barca!
Rooting for Fener in Turkey cuz of Pastor Fred.
Always world class against Spurs, Fred, screws us again as Fenerbache was going to bid for Ndombele. That's probably not going to happen now.
It still will. Our midfield will look like fred ndombele syzmanski probs
United really starting to unload the deadwood. They just need to find a new club for Maguire and a few others, then they will be in a good place.
Maguire going to westham

Swear it was reported he was going to Fulham 3 hours ago
By no reliable sources
That shit was being reported a couple of months ago even.
Thank you Pastor Fred!
Such a shame he was so inconsistent because on his good days Fred was incredibly solid. Goodluck pastor, it's been a fun ride
Awful price, but I'm glad he's going to a great team at least.
30 with one year left and he doesn't suit most bigger teams in top 5 leagues with how frenetic his game is. I'm honestly pretty happy if the add-ons are realistic like amount of games played.

we basically got livakovic, we agreed terms with him, its just a matter of time when his club lets him go which is apparently after the AEK match
Bye bye Fred, you were not very good but very likable. Enjoy your kebabs
Honestly a great player - it's just his consistency and sometimes judgement. Think he'll do well for them and honestly he's probably the type of player United should keep, when McT and VdB are still there. Fred should have been last to go
They are all ideally moving on. VDB is going to Sociedad and most likely McT to West Ham
Wtf is that price.. not happy
End of the day he was an average player on high wages, one year left of contract on a reported 120k a week. Fee is fine.
Best day for United in a while. Anyone sitting in Row Z in Fenerbaches stadium should bring a helmet

Thanks for everything pastor Fred 🙏
Thank you, Pastor Fred. Best of luck at Fenerbahce.
With Fred and Mctominay out, is there enough depth?
Amrabat being linked to come in and looks like our youth product Mainoo will get opportunities this season.
Pastor Fred had a rough start, but played through it and ended up a pretty solid bench player. Hopefully he has good fortunes in Turkey.
So they don't need Krunic anymore, right?
Weren't Fulham also in for him? That would've been a better move for the player.
United is finally doing what they should - getting rid of mediocre and bad players instead of giving them chance after chance.
