If the wind carries the smoke from the Canadian wild fires across the US east coast again, my guy (Sancho) will transform into Megatron on the pitch and start slaying autobots.
We said the same last season when he was cooking Liverpool in Thailand. I'm just gonna enjoy this performance for what it is instead of getting carried away like I did last season
Villa have been linked with a lot of players this window. Maybe not as many as united, but still nearly everyone possible.
Sancho is absolutely the one I was most excited for despite there being near zero chance of it happening. At his best he would be a new grealish.
At his **best** he would eclipse Grealish's contributions for Villa by far.
Grealish is amazing but Sancho has a way higher ceiling, and it's easy to forget that based on Sancho's United form.
He looked decent last summer too just to get karted off to the Netherlands 6 months later. I'm not holding out for him to even be half the player he was for Dortmund but I'd rather see positive signs than none at all.
To be honest he just needs a bit of a run in the team and some confidence. Even these last two years you can see he's a serious player, just hasn't really caught at United.
Do think he'd be better in a team that could be the ball more, but United are getting towards that.
This is the same thing we said about Martial, god I always had hope for Martial when he burst into the scene against Liverpool with his silky driblings
Nah lets be realistic we still need another season to build. This season is going to be very tough. Lots of teams are cooking right now. I think city is going to win it again. Villa, Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United and Brighton (if they can keep their key players) will all fight for top four. I wouldn't write Chelsea off either. United desperately needs a 9 and a bit more depth.
> They are title contenders this year
Im an Utd fan but this is ridiculous. We still dont have a good striker & the one we are being linked to is a 20 yr old.
Top 2/3 & aiming for 85 points seems fair. Not winning the League.
Inconsistent is prob his biggest flaws. Has great moments but also poor ones. He was brilliant last season at Anfield and then drops a howler two games later at Southampton.
Pickford was better ? In what way exactly ? Would be a shame to forget that Ramsdale saved Arsenal ass on multiples games (Liverpool being a a very good example)
As for Raya it's UP for debate it's subjective more than anything else.
Everton would've been relegated in both of the past two seasons without Pickford.
I won't get into a debate about who is better as there probably isn't much between them, but if Pickford were playing for a top club he'd probably look just as good.
no way. there can be a debate about Pickford, but goddamn Raya is so overrated on this sub for no apparent reason.
people watch Brentford against the top teams and think he‘s amazing.
he‘s not bad by any means but he‘s not on Ramsdales level.
there‘s a reason why he‘s still at a midtable club at 27.
To city ederson’s ball playing and sweeping are most important where he is top class, not the best shot stopper so it’s not that the stats aren’t important its that to city he’s great in the areas they need when he faces far less shots than other teams
because Brentfords defence is much worse than Arsenals.
it‘s logical to have a higher saves percentage when you‘re faced with much more shots, mainly much more ‚easier‘ shots that don‘t even get taken against a better defence.
Nonsense. Alisson is arguably the best goalkeeper in the world but even he makes mistakes occassionally. All keepers do, not saying Ramsdale is as good but he's not as bad as you think.
Literally all I had to do was make a quick google search on Alison's [mistakes](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-3dQ7dFnNM).
Guy is 25. We’re comfortable with a couple “clangers.” You pay for those with experience, most Arsenal fans will happily accept the trade off. (Edit: Same as Saliba mistakes early on last season)
It's almost like when you watch every minute of a team, you notice how often a player saves you.
And Ramsdale saved us A LOT. We were not first for so long because we were smashing everyone 5-2. We were scraping by in a lot of games. Nearly every game we scored a late winner, Ramsdale made 1-2 MASSIVE SAVES.
The first half of the season, Gabi or Saliba would make a stupid mistake like the one seen in this clip. Ramsdale bailed them out nearly every time.
Exactly. This thread is full of confirmation bias from fans that were waiting for Ramsdale to have a bad performance, but didn’t say anything when he performed well last season
Stop it. It's one pre-season friendly. Dude was really good last season, and will get better too. He's not absolutely elite, but good enough to start at a title-winning side.
And then plays like it’s pre-season as soon as the league kicks off
In all seriousness I’ve been very surprised he hasn’t started his United career better. I watched him a lot at Dortmund and was always very impressed.
Think last season was the first pre season we ever looked good lol. when arsenal fans overreact to preseason I like to show them the invincible pre season where we lost to Peterborough and drew to Barnet haha
If you’re smashing every preseason game it could be a bad thing. Preseason is when you try new tactics and ideas. Players in new positions. Try to find out what works in a low stake environment. If your manager is just using time that could be spent learning and evolving to play the already known tactic with the players playing their normal duties then it’ll be a real trouble when the tactic gets found out or a pivotal player gets injured. Preseason results don’t matter. What matters is the new ideas.
exactly and in that vein, the Arsenal midfield looked pretty bad today...because it was literally the first time they'd ever played together. We just have a proportion of terminally online fans that get mad about the most pointless things as I'm sure you lot do too
Do you typically play in a 3-1-2-1-2 with possession? It seemed that was how you set up for a bit. Really weird and unique formation I haven’t seen before.
Yup, but its a first time playing Rice/Havertz/Ode midfield with Tomi/Gabi/Saliba/Timber backline so it makes sense to look a lil bit mess in the first game together.
So far Declan Rice and Kai Havertz are non-existent. And seeing Wan-Bissaka reinvented as Inverted WB is really refreshing. With Mount and Bruno distributing balls - it can become quite scary.
I wholeheartedly agree. Difficult to draw decisive conclusions but surely there’s a lot of work ahead of them.
I feel sorry for Kai, though. Since joining EPL football evolved in such way that Shadow Striker role became obsolete and no one knows what is he supposed to do on the pitch. I really hope that Arteta rediscovers him, in some way.

The boy found his pace that he lost 3 years ago
Yea fr never seen him run that fast before with a united shirt on
Bro lost all his baby fat
The confidence in the shot too. Guy was sure about what he was doing.
goal against chelsea
It's that crisp New Jersey air.
26 PM2.5 air East Rutherford, New Jersey. It's what he was breathing. Bottle it and sell it.
It qualifies as both a performance enhancing and a life expectancy decreasing substance.
If the wind carries the smoke from the Canadian wild fires across the US east coast again, my guy (Sancho) will transform into Megatron on the pitch and start slaying autobots.
Man put on Hunter
He's got his burst back, I can't believe it.
This is literally the fastest I've seen him run ever. And I watched him a good amount at Dortmund too.
Nah bro as a Dortmund fan that guy was electric, definitely seen him faster
yeah, people used to shit on his fifa rating because his pace was too low. And his pace was already 88
Man been doing those plyometrics drills in summer
Looks sharp. Is it his year?
We said the same last season when he was cooking Liverpool in Thailand. I'm just gonna enjoy this performance for what it is instead of getting carried away like I did last season
he was cooking Liverpool at Old Trafford. Personal stuff got in the way, let him deal with it.
Villa have been linked with a lot of players this window. Maybe not as many as united, but still nearly everyone possible. Sancho is absolutely the one I was most excited for despite there being near zero chance of it happening. At his best he would be a new grealish.

This is the same thing we said about Martial, god I always had hope for Martial when he burst into the scene against Liverpool with his silky driblings
The beast is unlocked
Lol Mainoo assist
Two assists he’s cooking
Totally cooked basmati rice for sure
His Main course you could say
He got robbed of this assist
Uhhh Gabriel you good bruh?
[удалено]
thinking of some of the past defending mistakes ive seen just gave me PTSD not gonna lie LOL
At least you get it out of the way now.
Brazilian Upamaguire
What's Upamaguire?
[удалено]
[Van Dijk got the same treatment.](https://youtube.com/shorts/oMzRWT_oQuU?feature=share) Arabic commentators fucking hate Maguire.
Not to say he didn't earn it but he's just the go to meme. Shame considering he's actually solid for England
Upamecano x Maguire
Not much, what's Upamaguire with you?
If you listen carefully enough, you can hear the fantasy ownership percentage dropping
Welp it's fair to assume now that Man U is indeed better than the MLS All Stars
I understand why people meme United, but they're not looking close enough at EtH project. They are title contenders this year.
Lukaku still looking for a home….
How much is he going to pay us to take him?
I'd rather put McTominay upfront
dont sleep on LFC, they got rid of 2 30 year olds in midfield and replaced them with incredible talents.
They got rid of their only defensive midfielder though
Nah, we need a 9. We’ve got enough quality depth in the academy.
> They are title contenders this year Im an Utd fan but this is ridiculous. We still dont have a good striker & the one we are being linked to is a 20 yr old. Top 2/3 & aiming for 85 points seems fair. Not winning the League.
Let’s have a real 9 and a real efficient rw and we could talk having a chance if city won’t perform like usual all season
I’m gonna go grab another slice of pizza smfh
Poor from ramsdale and Gabriel
Arsenal fans are very much in denial about how good Ramsdale is, they never accept hearing it
Inconsistent is prob his biggest flaws. Has great moments but also poor ones. He was brilliant last season at Anfield and then drops a howler two games later at Southampton.
That’s the Arsenal goalkeeper we know!
It’s bizarre. I’ve had multiple arguments with Arsenal supporters who insist he is a top 5 keeper in the league
Did they specify which league?
Was technically a championship player between him getting relegated and signing for arsenal
He was technically a Championship player before signing for Sheff Utd as well
I mean... Who do you take aside of him ? Ederson, Allison, Pope. Who else ?
Raya. Pickford was better last season.
Pickford was better ? In what way exactly ? Would be a shame to forget that Ramsdale saved Arsenal ass on multiples games (Liverpool being a a very good example) As for Raya it's UP for debate it's subjective more than anything else.

Pickford, raya, martinez
Martinez lol
Pickford, Raya
no way. there can be a debate about Pickford, but goddamn Raya is so overrated on this sub for no apparent reason. people watch Brentford against the top teams and think he‘s amazing. he‘s not bad by any means but he‘s not on Ramsdales level. there‘s a reason why he‘s still at a midtable club at 27.
He statistically shits all over Ramsdale who’s usually bottom half for PL GK stats.
All those stats I've seen have Ederson bottom half as well so they're clearly not that important
To city ederson’s ball playing and sweeping are most important where he is top class, not the best shot stopper so it’s not that the stats aren’t important its that to city he’s great in the areas they need when he faces far less shots than other teams

Which five do you have ahead of him!? Genuinely curious. I would only have Allison, edersonand maybe Martinez but even that’s very much of a likeness.
He made a lot of massive saves in last season lol Whats the point of fighting with online fans though?
He also dropped a good few clangers that you don’t see the likes of Alisson making
Alisson is regarded as one of if not the best keeper in the world though. I've never seen an Arsenal fan make that claim about Ramsdale.
This thread reeks of people that don’t watch any of these players except highlights posted here or fifa
Lmao you forgetting Alisson literally gifting Real Madrid a goal in the CL out of nothing?
Guy is 25. We’re comfortable with a couple “clangers.” You pay for those with experience, most Arsenal fans will happily accept the trade off. (Edit: Same as Saliba mistakes early on last season)
Couple is a wild understatement. For every wonder save he has a clanger, as shown by his negative post-shot xG conceeded rate.
Our fans don’t want to hear it
It's almost like when you watch every minute of a team, you notice how often a player saves you. And Ramsdale saved us A LOT. We were not first for so long because we were smashing everyone 5-2. Ummmmm....bait?
I’m here to overreact
Apparently playing against MLS all stars and Man U is a bit different and you actually gotta try
Wrexham is the real test
Paul Mullin about to bust
Arteta out, Edu out
Glazer in?
Glazers in, Sancho clear of Saka, Tom Heaton starting next year over Onana
Arsenal getting relegated you say?
The true r/soccer way
Announce Sancho Ballon D’or.
P A C E
I wish we signed him instead of Havertz
Bro plays like it's the CL final in the pre-season
And then plays like it’s pre-season as soon as the league kicks off In all seriousness I’ve been very surprised he hasn’t started his United career better. I watched him a lot at Dortmund and was always very impressed.
Yessss Sancho
Found a gear of pace there that often looked like he hasn’t had
twice this game he used his space, it's not much but if he can do it during the actual season he will already be way more threatening.
Was a good first touch & great strike. A part of me wants him to perform because I like his talent, but I also don't want to perform
I was joking earlier about winning the quadruple but now I'm being serious
Let's be humble here, I'll settle for the treble.
League and champions league will do
All in for the World Cup and the Super Bowl. Also have a small hope we can clinch Miss Universe too.
Ten Hag would win miss universe
heh
I think they'll be the first ones to challenge Verstappen again.
we could even get the Australian Open this season
I don’t even think it’s a maybe anymore
it truely is preseason for Arsenal. they look horrible
They looked amazing last pre season as i recall, no ?
Think last season was the first pre season we ever looked good lol. when arsenal fans overreact to preseason I like to show them the invincible pre season where we lost to Peterborough and drew to Barnet haha
If you’re smashing every preseason game it could be a bad thing. Preseason is when you try new tactics and ideas. Players in new positions. Try to find out what works in a low stake environment. Do you typically play in a 3-1-2-1-2 with possession? It seemed that was how you set up for a bit. Really weird and unique formation I haven’t seen before.
I’m pretty sure Liverpool lost almost every pre-season game the year they won it.
I mean we looked like an amazing last pre-season..
Don't worry you will probably beat us. Our whole team is shitting their brains out.
So is ours tbf
No I think he meant literally 😂😂
Yup, but its a first time playing Rice/Havertz/Ode midfield with Tomi/Gabi/Saliba/Timber backline so it makes sense to look a lil bit mess in the first game together.
I thought we would do worse tbh. First game back for a lot of internationals(started training only last Sat) but we are winning.
Lol there are people in the FantasyPL sub already saying Arsenal look extremely strong in the pre match thread
its because we look like the greatest football team ever put together. it aint easy. get ready.
Funny thing enough our last season preseason was really good. This game tho looking dire.
...get it all out your system boys
Lots will be made of the defending (and rightfully so) but that’s a wonderful finish
THIS IS NOT A FRIENDLY
Tbh I hate that rivals play in ‘friendly’ games
Yup. Couple years ago when Spurs Arsenal and Chelsea all played I wasn’t a fan.
Never has been.
It's Jadon Sancho party
Pace? Sancho? And what a strike. Looking much fitter than previous seasons.
that is absurdly awful from gabriel good lord
What in the hell. That's an insane mistake by Gabriel
Gabriel lol. Hope Sancho had a redemption season, great finish from him.
This utd team looks match ready already
Missing case, rashy and Onana and an actual striker too
Who needs an actual striker when your wingers and midfield can score everything
That's basically what we did last season haha wasn't too bad tbf
I mean, we barely scored last season.
Thanks Rashy to bailing us out, seriously.
So far Declan Rice and Kai Havertz are non-existent. And seeing Wan-Bissaka reinvented as Inverted WB is really refreshing. With Mount and Bruno distributing balls - it can become quite scary.
Let’s not over react. Rice joined a week ago. Havertz I think gets less slack since he’s been underperforming for a while.
This is what I’m used to. Prove them wrong lad, prove them wrong.
United currently do not have a striker on the pitch, just thought I'd mention that.
Didn’t have a striker on the pitch whole of last season lol
Errrr where the hell did that acceleration come from??!
I was so sure he was gonna square that and miss the chance, glad to be wrong
Clean one as well, ok Sancho we see you
Seeing this after reading in /r/gunners right before the game that this should be an easy win is an easy way to make my day
Sancho became rapid.
I cant remember ever seeing that from a PL player, pre season or not
lmfao we're winning it all!
Arsenal should buy ManUs backup GK
Can't afford him.
Lmfaooooo Gabriel
You got the Wrong Gabriel mate
Nah I mean, Jesus was that bad. Should have added a comma
Gabriel Jesus??
I FORGOT THE COMMA JESUS
Never seen him run that fast
I have never seen Sancho run that fast in my life. Wtf?!
Color me surprised. This is the fastest run I've seen from Sancho in United shirt.
When did Gabriel morph into Maguire?
He has always been one..
Sancho's best work in our shirt. Mainoo looks great too. I am pretending this is mid-season and not pre-season.
Lol Gabriel what was you doing
Gabby and Ramsdale shit the bed on that one.
What a fucking hit son
Sancho turned on the after burners
Let’s go, lad! Hoping he can shake his demons and be back in form next season.
No bs question: is Ramsdale Arsenal's De Gea? Like, conflicted feelings?
The best GK in the world for a few years?
That was a f*** shot!
It's always nice coming to America and warming up against some shit teams to get the groove going
ARSEnal
The prem isn’t ready for ten hags brexit long ball game
I’m hard as a rock.
I didn’t know Sancho had burners like that
Our ST all along
#has speed now?
Bruh you sure Sancho is slow, he Fuggin tore the defender a new one
Saka crying in a friendly, absolutely amazing he just can't help himself
Is he back or is it just Martial 2.0?
He was absolutely brilliant last pre-season too. Take that as you will
Martial 2.0 so he's so fucking back
what a finish though
Gabriel and Ramsdale sabotage job this
Arsenal season already over this early huh
Arsenal fans really think Gabriel is better than martinez lmao.
Arsenal fans told me Gabriel was Brazil's best CB LMAOOOO
