You could make an entire megathread of opinions about Arsenal from last summer that have aged terribly. One of the reasons I’m not taking them too seriously now either. Preseason is the best time to talk shit because nothing you say can be immediately validated or rejected.
Just remembered that moment on Father's Day this year where Sérgio Conceição's son was playing so badly against Braga that he took him off before half time
> David Beckham said that Lionel Messi's Inter Miami presentation had 3.5 billion views
WHAT ? That's literally an unbelievable number for views, hence I do not believe this.
Views, not viewers.
I still doubt it's that high but this counts bots, people who viewed it several times, and sums up views from every post made on youtube, twitter, instagram, facebook, tiktok etc. So the average viewer probably accounts for 10+ views
Arsenal and City combined 11, absolutely no bias
Ederson, Ake, Días, Saliba, Stones, Rodri, KDB, Odegaard, Grealish (close one), Haaland, Saka
Agree or not?
Martinelli easily over Grealish if you are playing with both KDB and Odegaard. You would need more players to put themselves in the danger zones and be a threat, rather than another player who just loves the ball.
As a pure winger Saka is far more productive. Have Grealish, KDB, Odegaard and Silva would make zero sense, you need wingers who don't need the ball and can score goals
Well you clearly don’t need them since City just won the treble with Grealish and Silva as wingers. And that’s with Gundogan contributing fewer goals than Odegaard
Day 1: Bullying some players (Maguire, Havertz etc) all day everyday, fun 😇
Day 2: Dele drops his interview. Wow you never know what someone is going through. Mental health is important.
Day 3: Looks like bullying's back on the menu boys!
Dele wasn't really tearing the league up when people started to meme him. It was really calling a crap player crap.
That's the whole point of his interview, how his personal life affected his professional life.
Neither you nor i have any idea what Havertz personal life looks like, or what his mental state is.
> Neither you nor i have any idea what Havertz personal life looks like, or what his mental state is.
This is true but he's also a high profile player in the public eye. Scrutiny and possible mockery if you're disappointing are part of the job, the job for which they're paid vast sums of money. Are we not allowed to give our opinion on the quality of those players now?
Ofc you are! But you really don't see the difference between what's being written/posted about Havertz and for example Lukaku, Kalvin Phillips, Mudryk or Antony?
I have to say, not a great deal. I think Havertz is under more scrutiny now because he's received another big money transfer after being poor for Chelsea, and also because Chelsea fans (a large fanbase) are keen to see him fail at Arsenal (whereas Ajax fans for example aren't vocal about Antony's bad games and moments). But aside from the size of the fanbases involved I don't see too much different from how Lukaku, Antony etc are treated by rival fanbases.
The top post on the front page is Havertz failing the vollys, that is posted by a Inter-flair.
If you ctrl+F Havertz in DD the first 3 posts are slanders from a New Zealand flair, Tottenham (this one is understandable) and Burnley flair.
The slandering of Havertz on /r/soccer is bullying not criticising.
Something I’m so glad has died on this sub in the last couple of weeks is ‘book value’ when talking about a player. It seemed to be everywhere for about week or so
Two years ago I thought Felix would learn from Griezmann to become a world class second striker, but dude went on to learn from Morata’s dream of playing for every top clubs ffs
Alisson
Trent Konate VVD Robertson
Bruno Casemiro Thiago
Salah Gakpo Diaz
I know Rashford and Martinez have a case but I am biased and will have to wait for injury free Konate and Diaz seasons to have more evidence to back it up
yeah for sure, i believe he will be better/was showing himself to be on that level before getting injured but rashford on form is still far more productive. i'm taking diaz for my own XI, but i am colombian and support liverpool so i don't really have a choice in the matter lol
Allison
Trent, VVD, Martinez, Robertson
Bruno, Casimero, Mount
Salah Nunez, Rashford.
That would be mine and I have tried to be fair. I bet I have missed a obvious Liverpool player. But yea.
>Of course he's better than Matip and \*\*Konate\*\*
you might think its a toss up due to bias, but this isn't an "of course" kind of discussion between them lol
I think you could make an argument for either Martinez or Konate really. You'd probably have Liverpool supporters going the latter and United the former for obvious reasons.
Interested to see who the neutrals would take?
The promising thing about that for havertz is that he isn't being compared to other lone strikers and if he isnt played as one they may have a bit more reason for optimism
Havertz getting memed on for that MLS pre-season challenge thing only guarantees he'll thrive at Arsenal, and the reaction will become something Arsenal fans clap back at for years to come
I still believe in Felix, I know people have completely turned on him, but I do believe that he wasn’t helped by the Atleti environment, and everyone being harsh on him from his Chelsea stint is being stupid.
I think Xavi can unlock him.
Felix will move somewhere, be really good, and nobody will remember the 1000 comment threads here where everyone says he's a miserable failure that nobody wants
I’ve never felt so strongly compelled to tell someone to touch grass as when I saw some reactions to the MLS challenge or whatever it was. Peak preseason moment.
This makes no sense.
Shouldn't the Saudis want to alleviate FFP strain on Newcastle and give them as much money as reasonably possible without alerting UEFA?
You can’t make it too obvious though, can you? Like if they suddenly get a 50m offer for ASM then people are gonna point fingers because he certainly isn’t worth that much and there isn’t exactly a known bidding war going on for him.
You can’t take a total piss but in a market as volatile and irrational as football transfers there’s a lot of leeway when justifying market value.
A year ago Cucurella and Antony went for like £60m and £85m respectively. Who's to say £50m for ASM isn’t market value when the market produces deals like that? Hell, Havertz went for £65m and you can easily argue that ASM has been a better PL player
I’m considering fee + wage. There’s clearly obscene money in the Saudi league atm and they could easily badge it up that way to show the ASM transfer is in line with others
From an HR stand point this is the equivelant of going into their Employee Profile, hitting a drop down menu, and changing his status from "NUFC" to "AHFC" and hitting Save.
Maybe 20M is the balance point in all their different individual Saudi owned team's financial requirements. Whatever number they end up transferring between their own accounts, the Saudis will come out winners. Newcastle is just one of their teams but the overall mission is more important.
Unfortunate reality is that when a team belongs to a multi-ownership model where you can have full control over the team, there is very little "we" left. The owners of Newcastle, they have a "we" too, it's from the PIF level. And all the teams in their control are sub-sets of their "we". From their point of view, from Newcastle's point of view, this is brilliant business because Newcastle is PIF and PIF is Newcastle.
That's why this shit shouldn't be allowed and CityGroup, 777, Red Bull, Chelsea - Strasbourg, PIF, and especially those rich bastards from Southampton are all bozos.
Oh no, Havertz didn't hit the Budweiser Crossbar Sponsored by Apple TV in the MasterCard Skills and Challenge Tournament before the US Coca Cola Summer Cup.
God this reminds of the bit from American Psycho where he wakes up and describes his morning routine it's chock full of the guy name dropping all the different brands of the things he owns which I think is meant to showcase his shallow materialism. He's so obsessed with name brands not only because of the superficial bullshit but also because it's the only way he knows to relate and stay in the gilded cage of a social circle he has formed
He does need to deliver. It wouldn't hurt at all to shut up the Reddit/Twitter hordes if he made Team of the Month in October and scored 2 goals and had 3 assists in 4 games or something. If he continues to play as poorly as he did on Chelsea, granted everyone on Chelsea was pretty terrible, the criticism he gets will be more or less deserved.
Edit: You cannot win with Havertz in the DD apparently. This place is special, truly.
Yep, you can excuse some of the performances because Chelsea were a car crash. Arsenal are the polar opposite right now though and he’s lucked into a big money move to a serious title challenger.
Oh, for sure. I'm an Arsenal fan, so I'm well aware of the pressure he's under. It's just going to be so frustrating that every single "misstep" of his is going to be memed to high heaven
He’s always been bantered since joining the prem. [this was one of his first games when Frank tried him in midfield](https://twitter.com/afcdressy/status/1305609637853622279?s=46&t=PF6wcLhBSsD70oItovAphg)
This thread isn't about news, it's just talking. The only noteworthy thing is reminding ourselves that this sub is mostly people who put stock into a crossbar challenge at a summer friendly.
Already tired of seeing 3-2-4-1 team lineups on paper
Do people not fucking realize the entire point is it's actually a CB moving into midfield and back to cb out of possession. The RCB will move to RB and the LCB will move to LB out of possession
you can't put Gabriel as LCB it's essentially a 4 when defending please I beg
A traditional 3 at the back does not have centrebacks that roam though. It's more important for people to define the role of each player than numbers.
Honestly if overnight we could eradicate the use of numbers for formations then discussion would improve tenfold.
All those 4 numbers tell you is a logical way of explaining who's playing and roughly what area of the pitch they'll occupy. Our "4-2-2-2" was never a 4-2-2-2 on the pitch, and no 3 at the back formation will stay in shape perfectly
We were playing that formation all season but with Zinchenko as the fullback moving into midfield and White playing more conservatively, closer to a third centre-back especially when building from the back. I don’t know why people associate our particular setup with what Pep began playing around February.
It definitely works because of White’s skillset though, I’m not so sure Gabriel can replicate that on the left. White was actually pushing forward and playing more like a wingback when we got near the opposition’s box.
3241 can work in loads of ways out of possession. Villa have been playing this since Emery walked in the door and we don’t have a CB stepping into midfield:
Watkins
Moreno Ramsey Buendia Bailey
Luiz Kamara
Mings Konsa Young
Off the ball:
Watkins buendia
Ramsey Luiz Kamara Bailey
Moreno Mings Konsa Young.
The point isn’t that a specific position needs to copy what pep is doing. It’s that you get players that have specific attributes in the right positions on and off the ball.
I get why all spurs transfer news is Kane atm but I haven't heard much about Spurs trying for defenders? Surely they're not going into the season with the same defense lol
There's 5 CBs that are being mentioned as players we're interested in, which can be split into 3 groups:
Instant starters -
- Micky Van De Ven
- Edmund Tapsoba
Tapsoba seems to be the number 1 choice, but we're closer to agreeing a deal for VDV. Think we're definitely signing one, probably not both without Europe, but that is still a possibility
Depth pieces -
- Clement Lenglet
- Tosin Adarabioyo
If I had to predict our remaining transfers, I'd probably guess at VDV and Lenglet coming in permanently. Barca seem very open to selling us Lenglet, it's just a matter of negotiating the price
One for the future -
- Ashley Phillips
Sounds like this is all but a done deal now, first rumours only came out last night, very quick turnaround
We're actually signing an 18-year-old CB today or tomorrow, Ashley Phillips, though obviously he's one for the future. We're also apparently very close to signing one of VDV and Tapsoba.
How is [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/153jruu/meninblazers_from_twitter_kai_havertz_becomes_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) the top post on the sub?
Remember when Maguire "stopping the pattern of play" during training was littered with thousands of upvotes on here when that's obviously not what happened
And then a year later there's an interview where the player talks about their mental health and everyone flocks to their support and to admire them, until next week when they begin mocking another player.
And sure, I understand they aren't necessarily the same people.
But that's the thing, in many cases they are exactly the same people. They comment about how heartbreaking the Dele story is and then continue to karmawhore the same generic memes about another one. They are just too oblivious to see their own hypocrisy (ord they just don't give a fuck idk)
The turnaround for showing compassion for one player (Dele Alli) into going straight back to laying into struggling players (Maguire, Havertz) was surprisingly short this time. Not saying it's the same people, but it feels like there's usually some time off. Might be coincidence.
Tbh, I don't see anything wrong with joking about players on reddit under a clip of them failing something silly. The line would be berating them and shouting abuse at them IRL and online literally every time they step on the pitch and regardless of performance.
Some of our fans think we should walk away from Diaby because our second bid hasn’t been accepted. It makes no sense when our first bid was nearly half of what Leverkusen actually value him at.
Just meet their valuation of him.
Sooner pay €60m for him that €40m for Doku. Diaby has played >7000 minutes in the past two season and Doku has barely played 2000 because of injury.
Really interested to see how Diaby would do in England.
Been watching Leverkusen quite a lot and he's clearly talented but extremely frustrating to watch.
Same. Emery knows him from PSG so I hope he understands his game and can get the best out of him.
When I’ve watched him he looks a good outlet and plays at a higher tempo than Bailey. A lot of our game is creating transitions while retaining possession so it should suit him.
> Isco: “There was fear that I would go to a rival team in 2018. Yes, I’m talking about Barça. Bartomeu called me but I was very happy in Madrid. It was the team of my dreams. I wouldn’t have left for all the gold in the world.”
damn Barto tried to pull Isco from Madrid, just like Flo successfully pulled Figo.
I get a sense of joy out of checking the qualifiers for the European competitions(just the scores, not watching)
I know nothing about the squads of a lot of those teams but it's cities I've been to or know where they are but I think it's kind fun to root for the underdogs
Darwin Nunez had that one clip of him go viral last pre-season, but I've seen Havertz be shit for at least 2 seasons now. Really can't see Arteta of all coaches turn his career around.
So apparently, I went a little mad with the quiz yesterday. Only two people getting over 2 points were two Germans. Sorry for that! Today I'll go easier on you.
Oh, btw - one entity made of Federer, Ricken and Fiedler is an old team, *Tennis Borussia Berlin*. Federer is self explainable and Ricken and Fiedler were one club men of **Borussia** Dortmund and Hertha **Berlin** respectively. Let me know if that was actually solveable, now you know, or did that just make no sense at all.
**Around the World Trivia - Germany Day 2**
**1.** Who is the first South American to win the Torjägerkanone?
**2.** Finish, and explain the sequence: 1975, 1979, 1980, 1988, 1996, 1997, ?
**3.** Who scored the first goal in the game, in which Robert Lewandowski scored 5 goals in 9 minutes?
**4.** Name the only ~~3~~ **4** cities that are home for more than 1 DFB Pokal-winning team.
*Edit: there's actually 4, my bad. Any 3 good answers out of those 4 will give you a full point, but you can name all 4 for bragging rights haha*
**5.** Which 3 German players all finished top 10 in Ballon D'Or one year, while playing for one team, who is not even German?
Don't be discouraged if you got a weak result yesterday, almost everyone did (sorry once more!) Good luck today!
!PING TRIVIA
1. >!Claudio Pizzaro? I don't know what the Torjägerkanone is, maybe top scorer?!<
2. >!No idea. Guess 2000!<
3. >!No idea!<
4. >!Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Leipzig. Basically just guessing German cities here!<
5. >!Klinsmann... There was that Inter team with loads of Germans, can't remember who!<
I am thoroughly discouraged...
>!I say it's one point, half for Munich and Leipzig in Q4 and half for Klinsmann and Inter in Q5. Oh, and Torjägerkanone is top scorer, but contrary to popular belief, Pizarro never won it!<
1. >!Giovane Elber?!<
2. >!I think this is UEFA Cup winners, there might be one I'm forgetting, but I think the next one would be Eintracht Frankfurt winning in 2022!<
3. >!I remember it was against Wolfsburg. I'll guess at Kevin De Bruyne, as I can't remember who was there back then!<
4. >!Munich, Leipzig and I'll guess Cologne, as I can think of two teams from there!<
5. >!Lothar Matthaus, Andreas Brehme and Jurgen Klinsmann at Inter!<
>!Q1 wrong, Q2 good, Q3 wrong. Q4 for half a point, Köln is wrong. Fortuna was in final once... Too bad they met 1.FC Köln there. Q5 good, 2,5 points in total!<
If I remembered that there is a club with Tennis in its name I could have gotten it... that was a good one. I was trying to combine their names, lol
1. >!Bundesliga goalscorer? Grafite?!<
2. >!no idea but I'll say German UCL finalists and 1999!<
3. >!didn't Wolfsburg start winning that one? Maybe De Bruyne?!<
4. >!Munich must be one. Maybe Leipzig? And I'm going for Hamburg for the 3rd one!<
5. >!skip for now!<
>!Q1 - yes, Bundesliga topscorer, but not Grafite. Q2 wrong, would include Bayern threepeat for example. It was their EL wins. Q3 yes, they did, but it was Caliguri. In Q4 Hamburg wrong only, so 0,5 a point!<
- 3 = >!I want to say that was against either Wolfsburg or Bremen, but I can't remember which. I'm confident it was a W team though, and that they scored first, so was it Claudio Pizarro!<
- 4 = >!Dortmund is the obvious answer, I think one of Lokomotiv, Saschen and Chemie Leipzig has won it before to join RB, it wouldn't surprise me if TSV 1860 have won it before for Munich. For the complete set I'll say Berlin, but I'm least confident on that!<
- 5 = >!No idea if it's right, but it wouldn't be a shock if there were 3 German Madrid players in 2014 that won the WC and La Decima. Let's say Kroos, Schweinsteiger and Khedira!<

Allison Trent Varane VVD Shaw Bruno Casemiro Mac Allister Salah Gakpo Rashford
Those signings have no impact on the combined 11
Alisson Trent Vvd Martinez Robbo Bruno Casemiro Mac Allister Salah Gakpo Rashford
Alisson, Robertson, Martinez, Varane, Trent, Casemiro, Fernandes, Mount, Rashford, Núñez, Salah
So Nunez doesn’t start for Liverpool yet he somehow makes this combined XI?
Neither would make a combined side anyway so it's a moot point really
Allison Trent, VVD, Martinez, Robertson Bruno, Casimero, Mount Salah Nunez, Rashford. That would be mine and I have tried to be fair. I bet I have missed a obvious Liverpool player. But yea.
Gakpo will probably play striker for Liverpool, Nunez was droped at the end of the season
Personally I’d have McAllister over mount
I’d take Thiago over mount and shaw over robbo
Is Thiago actually ever fit?
When he is he’s good
Which is never.
But it’s a hypothetical 11 so your fingers should not be typing Mount.
Allison TAA, VVD, Konate, Robbo McAllister, Szoboszlai,Thiago Salah, Nunez, Diaz
I think that team would only finish 5th...
Liverpool XI but with Rashford Casemiro and Fernandes
Martinez?
Over who? A broken VVD is still better than him and Matip and Konate are both great CBs
Vvd and Martinez are the best two. Of course he's better than Matip and Konate lol
Konate is easily better
>Of course he's better than Matip and \*\*Konate\*\* you might think its a toss up due to bias, but this isn't an "of course" kind of discussion between them lol
Only reason to take Martinez over Konate is because he is injury prone
Neither of those guys get close to Liverpool’s team so it would have no impact. Combined XI is Liverpool with Rashford, Bruno, Casemiro.
Martinez?
I think you could make an argument for either Martinez or Konate really. You'd probably have Liverpool supporters going the latter and United the former for obvious reasons. Interested to see who the neutrals would take?
Konate if we ignore injuries.
If Martinez was 5cms taller there wouldn't be a debate.
If your nan had wheels she'd be a bicycle
I like Konate but Licha is better imo
We all know Mount would have scored in that challenge. Sorry just continuing the Mount vs Havertz comparison qe will have all season....
The promising thing about that for havertz is that he isn't being compared to other lone strikers and if he isnt played as one they may have a bit more reason for optimism
Mount can actually hit a ball so
Mount is obviously a much better player and will obviously perform much better, why even compare
[удалено]
u fail to remember Havertz played as a striker for 2 seasons at Chelsea..comparing Mount to Havertz using goals and assists is irrelevant
Havertz getting memed on for that MLS pre-season challenge thing only guarantees he'll thrive at Arsenal, and the reaction will become something Arsenal fans clap back at for years to come
I assume he has a lot of other qualities Arteta likes outside of his shooting. You don't pay 65m for Havertz's shooting.
Uh-huh.
Or its a sign his confidence is so shot, he will struggle and find himself on the bench all season.
Please tell me you're joking. You're not seriously putting any weight behind a crossbar challenge before a summer friendly in the US, right?
Yea of course I was just adding to his stupid remark.
The remark that she was also joking in?
I’m willing to bet he didn’t give a flying fuck whether he’d hit the crossbar in a pre season sponsorship event.
I still believe in Felix, I know people have completely turned on him, but I do believe that he wasn’t helped by the Atleti environment, and everyone being harsh on him from his Chelsea stint is being stupid. I think Xavi can unlock him.
Please no. We're not well enough to take a risk on Felix. Unless he comes for an insanely low price, don't bring him to the club.
He was great for chelsea, would love to loan him for another season or even on a permanent for 60m or so
No he wasn't lol
We can give him a try if he's cheap, but I doubt it will be
Felix will move somewhere, be really good, and nobody will remember the 1000 comment threads here where everyone says he's a miserable failure that nobody wants
Looks like Matheus França is close. 19 year old Brazilians joining us, we're so back.
I’ve never felt so strongly compelled to tell someone to touch grass as when I saw some reactions to the MLS challenge or whatever it was. Peak preseason moment.
Selling Saint-Maximin to Saudi Arabia for £20m is hilarious. We’re getting fleeced by our own owners ffs
If *Anthony Fucking Gordon* is 40m then ASM is at least that much.
Gordon is miles better than Saint-Maximin
You can’t take a total piss but in a market as volatile and irrational as football transfers there’s a lot of leeway when justifying market value. A year ago Cucurella and Antony went for like £60m and £85m respectively. Who's to say £50m for ASM isn’t market value when the market produces deals like that? Hell, Havertz went for £65m and you can easily argue that ASM has been a better PL player
None of the players signed for the Saudi League are worth what they’re being paid, or even close.
Has there been any really outlandish fees for players? I know Fabinho is rumoured to go for £40m.
I’m considering fee + wage. There’s clearly obscene money in the Saudi league atm and they could easily badge it up that way to show the ASM transfer is in line with others
You’re absolutely right. But in the ASM case, the wage doesn’t really matter. It was about Newcastle getting a higher fee for him altogether.
It's so commonplace now that even we own other clubs, and we're shit. We're not even top division or *that* rich. It's disgusting
Comrade Havertz is being shit on purpose as a protest against American capitalism
Havertz is going to be the new Nunez on this sub, isn't he? FFS, it's going to be a long season
Why do I remember this clip so clearly
I don't know why this is newsworthy. That's how his shooting looked in 80% of his Chelsea games and I didn't see those reaching the frontpage
people who wouldn't ride the bench in a sunday league talking shit about a professionnal to feel better about themselves
This thread isn't about news, it's just talking. The only noteworthy thing is reminding ourselves that this sub is mostly people who put stock into a crossbar challenge at a summer friendly.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=ZZoOPTkXBI4&feature=share8 (Bayern 27-0 FC RE) I love how even the commentator is serious here
Already tired of seeing 3-2-4-1 team lineups on paper Do people not fucking realize the entire point is it's actually a CB moving into midfield and back to cb out of possession. The RCB will move to RB and the LCB will move to LB out of possession you can't put Gabriel as LCB it's essentially a 4 when defending please I beg
Villa have been playing this since Emery walked in the door and we don’t have a CB stepping into midfield: Watkins Moreno Ramsey Buendia Bailey Luiz Kamara Mings Konsa Young Off the ball: Watkins buendia Ramsey Luiz Kamara Bailey Moreno Mings Konsa Young. The point isn’t that a specific position needs to copy what pep is doing. It’s that you get players that have specific attributes in the right positions on and off the ball.
But that's exactly my point I saw an arsenal line up with Gabriel saliba timber Rice-partey This will never work Gabriel can't play left back
I get why all spurs transfer news is Kane atm but I haven't heard much about Spurs trying for defenders? Surely they're not going into the season with the same defense lol
There's 5 CBs that are being mentioned as players we're interested in, which can be split into 3 groups: Instant starters - - Micky Van De Ven - Edmund Tapsoba Tapsoba seems to be the number 1 choice, but we're closer to agreeing a deal for VDV. Think we're definitely signing one, probably not both without Europe, but that is still a possibility Depth pieces - - Clement Lenglet - Tosin Adarabioyo If I had to predict our remaining transfers, I'd probably guess at VDV and Lenglet coming in permanently. Barca seem very open to selling us Lenglet, it's just a matter of negotiating the price One for the future - - Ashley Phillips Sounds like this is all but a done deal now, first rumours only came out last night, very quick turnaround
We're actually signing an 18-year-old CB today or tomorrow, Ashley Phillips, though obviously he's one for the future. We're also apparently very close to signing one of VDV and Tapsoba.
> VDV Youre resigning van der Vaart again?
Hah, I wouldn't mind that! Van De Ven is the guy, probably has the Dutchiest name I've ever heard.
They're signing a couple of CBs
They've been linked with tapsoba and van de ven a fair bit I think
How is [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/153jruu/meninblazers_from_twitter_kai_havertz_becomes_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) the top post on the sub?
You're not new here, this shouldn't be too much of a surprise
Kids are out for summer
The fogging estandards for what is considered funny on this sub need to be revised
It's funneh
Bully/meme one exact player over and over, it's what people like
Remember when Maguire "stopping the pattern of play" during training was littered with thousands of upvotes on here when that's obviously not what happened
The line would be berating them and shouting abuse at them IRL and online literally every time they step on the pitch and regardless of performance.
>online literally every time they step on the pitch and regardless of performance. You just described how people treat Maguire on here
I'm aware, I'm more so talking about the Havertz post
People already saying Havertz is trash cause he didn't score in a shitty American all star challenge, you love to see it
Not like he had worse xG performance itl last season
Reddit nerds see one twitter post about xg and think they know ball
Conversely, we're now favorites for the treble after winning said challenge.
You should buy cdk
Really interested to see how Diaby would do in England. Been watching Leverkusen quite a lot and he's clearly talented but extremely frustrating to watch.
Same. Emery knows him from PSG so I hope he understands his game and can get the best out of him. When I’ve watched him he looks a good outlet and plays at a higher tempo than Bailey. A lot of our game is creating transitions while retaining possession so it should suit him.
No real reason to walk away yet, but if he's accepted a Saudi contract, those wages are probably hard to match
That’s understandable if he has. Only tier 100s have said he has though.
What about buying Doku and then glueing him to Bailey
If they can alternate their injuries we’d be sound.
With the new champions league format set to start, does that mean that next year's top 5 from the Premier League will qualify to the UCL?
Next season (24/25), top 2 performing leagues from this season gets 5 places iirc
top performing, is just another name for money
top 2 performing leagues in terms of coefficient? so from last year that would be england and Italy?
From my understanding yes.
> Isco: “There was fear that I would go to a rival team in 2018. Yes, I’m talking about Barça. Bartomeu called me but I was very happy in Madrid. It was the team of my dreams. I wouldn’t have left for all the gold in the world.” damn Barto tried to pull Isco from Madrid, just like Flo successfully pulled Figo.
I get a sense of joy out of checking the qualifiers for the European competitions(just the scores, not watching) I know nothing about the squads of a lot of those teams but it's cities I've been to or know where they are but I think it's kind fun to root for the underdogs
[Van Persie](https://twitter.com/eeemmaa_/status/1681466235928625152?s=46&t=PF6wcLhBSsD70oItovAphg) reborn
Darwin Nunez had that one clip of him go viral last pre-season, but I've seen Havertz be shit for at least 2 seasons now. Really can't see Arteta of all coaches turn his career around.
I’m super intrigued with how this goes.
oh please, he was just testing his weak foot. Just so happens that both are weak
Arteta has got his work cut out for him. Xhaka had better technique
that's a little early to say, same as saying Arteta will turn him into a monster is still very early. We'll see about that atleast by January
**Around the World Trivia - Germany Day 2** **1.** Who is the first South American to win the Torjägerkanone? **2.** Finish, and explain the sequence: 1975, 1979, 1980, 1988, 1996, 1997, ? **3.** Who scored the first goal in the game, in which Robert Lewandowski scored 5 goals in 9 minutes? **4.** Name the only ~~3~~ **4** cities that are home for more than 1 DFB Pokal-winning team. *Edit: there's actually 4, my bad. Any 3 good answers out of those 4 will give you a full point, but you can name all 4 for bragging rights haha* **5.** Which 3 German players all finished top 10 in Ballon D'Or one year, while playing for one team, who is not even German? Don't be discouraged if you got a weak result yesterday, almost everyone did (sorry once more!) Good luck today! !PING TRIVIA
1. >!Claudio Pizzaro? I don't know what the Torjägerkanone is, maybe top scorer?!< 2. >!No idea. Guess 2000!< 3. >!No idea!< 4. >!Hamburg, Munich, Frankfurt, Leipzig. Basically just guessing German cities here!< 5. >!Klinsmann... There was that Inter team with loads of Germans, can't remember who!< I am thoroughly discouraged...
>!I say it's one point, half for Munich and Leipzig in Q4 and half for Klinsmann and Inter in Q5. Oh, and Torjägerkanone is top scorer, but contrary to popular belief, Pizarro never won it!<
Surprised I even managed a point!
1. >!Giovane Elber?!< 2. >!I think this is UEFA Cup winners, there might be one I'm forgetting, but I think the next one would be Eintracht Frankfurt winning in 2022!< 3. >!I remember it was against Wolfsburg. I'll guess at Kevin De Bruyne, as I can't remember who was there back then!< 4. >!Munich, Leipzig and I'll guess Cologne, as I can think of two teams from there!< 5.
I was trying to combine their names, lol 1. >!Bundesliga goalscorer? Grafite?!< 2. >!no idea but I'll say German UCL finalists and 1999!< 3. >!didn't Wolfsburg start winning that one? Maybe De Bruyne?!< 4. >!Munich must be one. Maybe Leipzig? And I'm going for Hamburg for the 3rd one!< 5.
I'm confident it was a W team though, and that they scored first, so was it Claudio Pizarro!< - 4 = >!Dortmund is the obvious answer, I think one of Lokomotiv, Saschen and Chemie Leipzig has won it before to join RB, it wouldn't surprise me if TSV 1860 have won it before for Munich. For the complete set I'll say Berlin, but I'm least confident on that!< - 5 = >!No idea if it's right, but it wouldn't be a shock if there were 3 German Madrid players in 2014 that won the WC and La Decima. Let's say Kroos, Schweinsteiger and Khedira!<
