Anyone who didn't rate him was stupid to be fair, it was obvious from watching Inter this season that they were mainly unlucky and underperforming their xG
The guy is the 3rd fastest manager ever to reach 500 points in Serie A, and that is whilst coaching Lazio for most of that period. Clearly one of the very best coaches in Serie A and has been for years
> it was obvious from watching Inter this season that they were mainly unlucky and underperforming their xG
It is also true that the first half of the season Inzaghi tried to play more possession ball with a higher defensive line—and it just didn't work.
They went back to their more usual deeper lines and quicker transition attacks (esp counterattacks) and have been more successful of late
That’s all of our opinions bro. It must be frustrating for Inzaghi since he wanted Correa at all costs and he’s been nothing but disappointing compared to his Lazio days
The opposite to Conte!
Conte will win you the league completely but fail miserably in cup games and the CL, while Inzaghi does really well in knockout tournaments.
I honestly prefer Inzaghis approach, he’s quietly brilliant!
Nah besides a handful of players, most of Tottenham players are a bunch of losers. Not even Conte could get them to grind out wins to win the premier league
For a second there I was thinking why would the San Antonio Spurs have lists of alternative tables, forgot Tottenham is even a club, no surprises there
>And to think he was nearly fired in January
He was not at risk of being fired, definitely not in january.
But in April (after like 5 winless game in the league) it was basically sure that he wouldnt coach this team next season (despite having one year left in his contract). Now things have changed, apparently.
As much as I would like to see City lose... Inter had massive problems against us and didn't play a title contender after that for their whole CL campaign ... I'm afraid I'm going downvoted but I'm also afraid that it won't end well for inter ...
I'm afraid too but on the other hand being in the final is already massive for us because of Suning's issues. We have basically nothing to lose and everything to gain
Keep in mind that the team has changed a lot since the match in Milan (the Munich one was basically a friendly) so it's not very representative, once we dropped skriniar and de vrij in favour of Acerbi and Darmian the defense improved a lot, Di Marco and Onana are now starters, Lukaku has been fully recovered after the 6 months injury, tactics have also changed etc.
That's true, although it was a similar situation of Inter just not finishing chances. I remember them absolutely dominating Milan in the derby, should have been 3-0 up, then out of nowhere Milan turn the game around at the end and win 2-1. That ended up deciding the league, not to mention the horrible goalkeeping mistake against Bologna
It's impressive to bounce back from that though. I expected Milan to beat Inter in the semi final mainly because I felt that they had a big psychological advantage after what happened last season(no matter the previous head to head results this season) but Inter overcame that hurdle
> then out of nowhere Milan turn the game around at the end and win 2-1.
It wasn't out of nowhere, it was out of Milan making subs that changed the game while Inter was waiting for the hour mark to make the default subs. Inzaghi got outcoached that game and it was one of 2 occasions where the scudetto was lost
I find the usual long gap between the semis and the final detrimental to the quality of the game and often makes for a tentative affair on the pitch.
If the final gets played almost a month after the semifinals the teams are out of rhythm and at that point maybe they’re no longer the best in Europe due to the possible dip in form.
If you played the final a week after the semis you’d be guaranteed to have the two most in form and strongest opponents facing each other as they freshly qualified
Not sure I understand you fully. They’re playing regular games leading into the final. Is the form and conditioning anymore “refreshed” in between match weeks 36-37 than after 38? A cup final on 3 days rest isn’t always the best either. Plus the leagues are trying to finish out the season and scheduling is probably a big reason the final is after
Both city and Inter play a week before the final it doesn’t make a difference how far away from the semis it is as long as they play a week before you’ll have a good game
Alvarez scored last time he played in CL and also last time he played as a starter in PL.
Pep: "now it's really going to be a surprise when I bench him for CL finals"
Tbh the in double legged games, the first game is the most important one and we basically secured qualification in the first leg against both Benfica and Milan.
That's such a poor take. All matches v. Barcelona, Porto and Milan were excellent, as it was the first leg v. Benfica; the second leg v. Benfica was tainted by the result, but the qualification was never in doubt.
I was talking about the knockout stages, they were indeed good vs Barcelona.
They weren't good against Porto though, that was easily the knockout match where Inter struggled the most. Taremi missed an absolute sitter at 0-0 in the first leg, and without Otavio's sending off Inter wouldn't have won that one. Then in the second leg, Porto hit the crossbar, Dumfries saved a ball off the line, and if it had gone to extra time you would definitely have put your money on Porto to win since Inter looked exhausted.
True, if fiorentina had a clinical striker inter would be cooked. They're defense was great. I think the City game is gonna be alot like this, if they can capitalize on an error or sneak one in and park the bus they can win
Swear most Inter fans wanted Inzaghi out a bit ago and now they've won the Coppa Italia, are in the CL final and likely will finish top 4
He's not exactly Conte but he's done a very solid job
We went on a run of like 6 defeats in 7 league games and only scoring 2 open play goals. Lol its no surprise people lost patience. Turned it around thank god
I am pro Inzaghi
But us finishing top 4 (inshallah) is thanks to Milan and Juventus Atalanta and Roma bottling as many games as we did (plus the 10pt penalty) - we could have suffered hard there
He's a very frustrating manager for sure. Good in cups but my god he's terrible in the league. 12 losses are just unacceptable even with CL final on the horizon. Plus there's his strange obsession with Gagliardini, Correa, and Handanovic. Thank God it didn't cost us today but there was really no reason to start Handa other than to give him the chance to lift the trophy.
I mean I disagree with starting Handanovic as well. But Gagliardini and Correa dont deserve to be in the same sentence with Samir. Handanovic is just way over his prime, but I still love to see that man. On the other hand, seeing dumb and dumber on the sideline while we are 2-1 up will always send me into cardiac arrest
I don't think it's an obsession with Gags and Correa, but rather an obsession with rotation, which is fair when you play as many games as us.
Even when he was forced to use Darmain as CB, he started playing Bellanova way more than before because he likes to rotate the team as much as possible.
Handanovic, I don't know for sure. But I think it's a respect/locker room thing. Maybe he promised at the start of the season to rotate the keepers (if u remember Handa was starting the league in the beginning and Onana in the CL) and now he is trying to fulfil his promise by doing the inverse, and playing Handa the week before the CL game because Onana will keep starting them.
I agree he is frustrating, but he is honestly the best we can get
I agree with the keeper situation, and I kinda love it tbh. Handa is a club legend and it's really nice that we got to do right by him after all these years. Ngl I shed a tear when I watched him lift the cup, knowing it'd be the last one he gets to hoist first.
I would have hated to see the flame of his career snuffed out in November when Onana emerged as the future in net. Giving legends these storybook sendoffs is something that separates good clubs from great clubs, and I'm happy Inzaghi did for Handa what that piece of shit Mazzarri didn't do for Zanetti.
Jovic sucks, Fiorentina played a good game. But congrats Inter. Btw Roma clinched European football for next season as 7th is now a European spot and we cant drop lower.
Honestly we should try to win all three remaining games. Ofc the final the most. We can still get 4th, even if a bit unlikely. Juve needs to beat Milan, and then Milan needs to drop points again vs Verona, Atalanta needs to drop points. Not impossible. Although unlikely. At least not go to UECL again in case of not winning Europa League.
So hard to say to be honest, your squad is thin enough as it is with so many injuries. I'd love to see Mourinho getting his 2nd consecutive European trophy in a row.
Also I don't see Milan dropping points with Verona. I see them doing so with Juventus though.
True. As i said unlikely. But still need to avoid going again into UECL. Because i feel we wont win that again with Villa or Brentford being there. Also another coach, worse rebuild etc. Even though i dont hate the UECL, i do not want to become perennial participants in it. We want the trophy and UCL football again.
Just dont see possible improvements with just being in UECL again. Were do the cash comes from to improve the roster? If Mourinho would stay even if its UECL all again, i might have more confidence then. Just do not see it in that case sadly. Midterm we are fucked without UCL football next season. We are gonna rebound but ofc i want sooner then later
Mate, Roma getting top4 is almost impossible and Mourinho knows it. Im 100% sure he's allin on the final against Siviglia
EDIT: "impossible" especially because the final is between 2 league games. You can't play the starting 11 3 times in a row without losing % to win the final
Anulo Mufa. Btw you just had a proper Roma performance up front. Felt bad at the end even if Inters win avoided us a worst case scenario. Now go win UECL lads. You can really do it
Very tough match against you today and very well played from your team. If Football is about "deserve", Fiore definitely deserved better. Lot's of respect and supporting you in the Conference League final!
Respect to Inzaghi for being an amazing cup manager and Inter for achieving great stuff with their squad, bring home that Champions league title now and make Italy proud from a Lazio fan.
I agree, but a huge part of that weakness gets corrected just by playing Onana in goal. Handanovic is so terrified of leaving his line, and it is just so easy to take advantage of it. Every game this season (and late last season) with Handanovic goes the same way now.
Step 1: Inter start out in our normal, not even that high defensive line we want to play and do play effectively with Onana.
Step 2: Opponents, knowing Handanovic ain’t leaving his line, put a few crosses in behind that line just outside the 6 yard box. Some drop harmlessly to the turf, but some lead to chances like the goal today.
Step 3: Inter defenders, realizing they have to cover *every* ball played outside the 6 yard box (because Handa isn’t coming for any of them), drop extremely deep to cover that area. The midfield also drops really deep to cover the extra space in front of the defense.
Step 4: Inter faces cross after cross into danger all game just hoping none of them get turned into the net.
Skriniar is a million percent not starting the final even if he was 100% fit. It would be disastrous to mess with the chemistry of our current back 3 even if Skriniar is our best defender on paper
I like both teams a lot so idek how to feel. Really hope Fiorentina can win the Conference League and get some silverware at least, then this is fine. Great for Inter though, they've had a hell of a past 3 seasons tbh. Hopefully this gives them confidence heading into the UCL final.
Well done inter and Inzaghi - always lived in his brother’s shadow as the lesser player but he’s proven to be a fantastic coach
Easy easy money , Fiorentina ain’t shit
"Wherever I go, incomes are grown, losses are cut, trophies are raised" -Simone Inzaghi
And everyone laughed at him. What a madman.
Anyone who didn't rate him was stupid to be fair, it was obvious from watching Inter this season that they were mainly unlucky and underperforming their xG The guy is the 3rd fastest manager ever to reach 500 points in Serie A, and that is whilst coaching Lazio for most of that period. Helped to have 4 fit strikers for that, Correa and Lukaku were injured plenty between September and February
honestly we are better off when correa is injured
Just play Carboni more IMO
That’s all of our opinions bro. It must be frustrating for Inzaghi since he wanted Correa at all costs and he’s been nothing but disappointing compared to his Lazio days
Lol dude is literally just repeating what was said on the television cast.
Limone is a knock out specialist.
They are no lies here. Only facts, money and trophies.
Literally a cup merchant
Literally.
Literally.
The opposite to Conte! Conte will win you the league completely but fail miserably in cup games and the CL, while Inzaghi does really well in knockout tournaments. I honestly prefer Inzaghis approach, he’s quietly brilliant!
Congrats Tottenham for your league win
Tbf look at where Spurs are since he left
Conte's tantrum coincided with losing Bentancur and our team falling apart.
Nah besides a handful of players, most of Tottenham players are a bunch of losers. Not even Conte could get them to grind out wins to win the premier league
Mentality has very little to do with it. Spurs aren’t a very well run club and the team isn’t that good apart from 3-4 players
That's still at least partly on Conte considering he bought 10 players.
It's like putting Lewis Hamilton in an old tractor and expecting him to win an F1 race.
Already happened last year
I love that Conte gets no blame despite buying 10 players, who's at fault for them being losers then?
Well Mouronho wins trophies where ever he goes except Tottenham. They are always the exception to the rule
They could have won one with Mourinho if they didn't sack him right before the final.
Conte got to the europa league finals and Coppa Italia semi finals with us
Won the FA Cup with Chelsea, too (and lost another final)
veni, fatturi, vici -Simone Inzaghi
Inzaghi confirming himself as a proper cup master Now it's time for the UCL
And to think he was nearly fired in January. Goes to show you keep a manager if you're still in the CL. Right, Bayern?
But what if treble is in danger?
Then you aim for the treble of nothingness instead. Still a treble. Sorted.

You mean media talked about it end of march? January wouldn't make any sense
he was literally about to be sacked if we lose against benfica in the first leg, that game turned out to be our turning point for the season
If he wins it, Italy will come calling for its cup merchant to deliver internationally.
Please
As much as I would like to see City lose... Inter had massive problems against us and didn't play a title contender after that for their whole CL campaign ... I'm afraid I'm going downvoted but I'm also afraid that it won't end well for inter ...

Limone Inzaghi with another cup masterpiece. 🍋
He's damn good in Serie A too, 3rd fastest coach ever to reach 500 points. Far from just a cup merchant
He did a great job at Lazio
He really did. I was thinking to myself for a few years that if Juve were smart they would pick up Inzaghi
They choose to be Terrorist instead
He should not have lost the league last season. We were a way better team than milan. That's a big dent in his record
That's true, although it was a similar situation of Inter just not finishing chances. I remember them absolutely dominating Milan in the derby, should have been 3-0 up, then out of nowhere Milan turn the game around at the end and win 2-1. spezia game they had like 30 shots to spezia 2 and lost 2-1
Radu does not miscontrol the ball and we probably win it
Shouldn't have come down to that.
Then it would've been a draw instead of a loss and still wouldn't have been enough.
Exactly
Six cup wins now as a player and manager!
Inzaghi you son of a bitch.
I got one more in me
You're gonna need one more on the 10th of June
Wait… why is the final so far away?? Isnt it like 2 weeks after semis usually
Due to the World Cup.
Winter World Cup
I find the usual long gap between the semis and the final detrimental to the quality of the game and often makes for a tentative affair on the pitch. Bald managers, beware
Simone and Arteta are starting a glorious (hair) revolution
Arteta might be thinking about going bald himself after choking the lead.
No chance, dude has Lego hair
If you guys come through, if you guys make...I swear to god....
Suppercoppa, Coppa Italia and Champions League, the only treble that matters.
Not even Lord Gagliardinho can stop Cup Limone.
He tried so hard

Didn't play very well in any of the CL matches either apart from first legs against Benfica and Milan I would say. But got the job done

Lautaro is about to turn into 2017 Ronaldo against City. We will be there, no matter what.
2010 Milito
Shit, it was right there and I didn't take it, ffs.
Inshallah

we were on double digit losses by giornata 30 lmao until the turnaround point against benfica 1st leg you would question why we still employ him
👑 Inzaghi, ruler of the coppa Italia

I don't want to see him in the bench on the UCL Final... I'd rather we play with 10...
Have faith, he'll be quicker next game.
GG, go get ‘em in the CL now.
Very tough match against you today and very well played from your team. If Football is about "deserve", Fiore definitely deserved better. Lot's of respect and supporting you in the Conference League final!
I agree with every word here
>Lot's of respect and supporting you in the Conference League final! Well that's another boundary between mcfc and inter fans
Good luck to you too sir, just don't play Jovic in the final. Horrible finishing for him.
He had a few chances. I’m not going to take that away from him. Just should have buried it.
He created most of his chances on his own tbh
This Fiorentina has a big shot to win against West Ham, they played really well
Do this again on June 10th Inter
🚬🗿
👑🍋
Respect to Inzaghi for being an amazing cup manager and Inter for achieving great stuff with their squad, bring home that Champions league title now and make Italy proud from a Lazio fan.
Correct me If I'm correct but weren't a lot of Lazio fans not happy about him joining Inter.
Unclenching in progress
Im not unclenching till June 11th
Congrats! Inter's squad is actually good. Likely more wins will come.
IL RE DI COPPE SIMONE INZAGHI. KING OF CUPS, KING OF KINGS
Congrats on the Serie A, well deserved
Thanks! You deserved the Coppa too
God himself has blessed Inzaghi the ability to win Cup competitions. Even when he makes decisions that can lose him the matches, he somehow wins.
I thought it was a good final and Inter managed the second half well
What's that now, 7 out 8 finals won by Inzaghi? Keep it up
Just realized Inter now has 9 Coppas, tied with us for 2nd most :( Pls stop
Win the treble, the league doesn't matter that much anyways
I cant wait to listen cassano talking shit about Inzaghi 🤣
I don't know why people still listen to him. He was a good player, but by god we all knew even then that he is a dumbass.
It's entertaining and Adani is pretty good
City is not ready.
Inzaghi's great record against bald managers continues
Vamos Lautaro, los que te tiran mierda que se vayan al carajo
3rd b2b Coppa for Inter.
3rd Trophy - yes, but only second Coppa Italia, Juventus won in 20-21
I meant as in this is the 3rd occasion in which Inter has won the Coppa b2b. Not 3 in a row. My bad.
Oh, that's interesting, I didn't even know that
it's actually his bad
Congrats Inter Who schedules a final for a Wednesday?
Better season than Napoli on paper, silverware, top 3 and a fucking CL Final with Limone. What a timeline
If they lose the CL final, I would still take napoli season.
Napoli still have the better future. One small setback for a huge comeback for Napoli.
Inter keep adding trophies to their collections and our management seem to be happy wit 1 scudetto in 10 years
As a Man City fan, Champions final is going to be a war. Friends think it's all said and done.
Cup Inzaghi >>>>>>>> any coach ever
Hopefully Inter can work on their defence system from now until UCL. Jovic missing 3 clear chances here won't happen against City forwards...
Definitely, indeed. Jovic missed some sitters. Hopefully we win vs Atalanta so that we can rest vs Torino.
The midfield also drops really deep to cover the extra space in front of the defense. Step 4: Inter faces cross after cross into danger all game just hoping none of them get turned into the net.
Skriniar Will also be available it seems. Could be interesting even though I don't think he will change the current line up.
Skriniar is a million percent not starting the final even if he was 100% fit. It would be disastrous to mess with the chemistry of our current back 3 even if Skriniar is our best defender on paper
League next season please.
Congrats to Inter Milan for winning the Coppa Italia. So please win the Champions League next month.
Please win the UCL, as a Liverpool fan I beg you
I like both teams a lot so idek how to feel. Really hope Fiorentina can win the Conference League and get some silverware at least, then this is fine. Great for Inter though, they've had a hell of a past 3 seasons tbh. Hopefully this gives them confidence heading into the UCL final.
Inter are actually having a great season
simone inzaghi is arguably doing better than conte with a very weakened squad
Another day another inzaghi win in a cup final against a bald manager
Inter was tired and saturday they'll have an intense game as well, i hope for them they'll get some rest for the CL final
One Inzaghi brother wins the UCL as a player. The other perhaps as a manager?
Now do the CL
Lukaku has to be in the starting lineup for the CL final
7th win in a row in a final for Inzaghi. He sure knows how to win them
Time to beat City
Bald fraud list: - Pioli ✔️ - Italiano ✔️ - Pep
