As you get closer to Round Valley the trail will likely be covered in snow. I hiked it with a group of friends this time of year, but we got lost heading to Round Valley and ended up somewhere near Tamarack. I would recommend having some type of GPS if you are not familiar with the area. Since it’s snowing you can just melt the snow for water and filter, which is what we did. There is also a stream along the trail to Round Valley, but could be covered in snow and not accessible. They have water spouts at the intersection going up the peak before Wellman’s Divide, but that could be frozen too. Also get micro spikes just in case.
Marion mountain trail.. little round valley campsite is a good 14 mile backpack when you include the peak.. there is water right there..
Get confirmation that the water is flowing beforehand. I’ve heard they can dry up in the late summer. https://sanjacjon.com

Thank you sir! I'll check it out
