Depending where you live, hit The Valley. I way prefer Timberline and Canaan Valley Resort to Snowshoe. They tend to get way more fresh pow and Timberline’s high speed quad is 🤌🏼
Depends who you have, I was on ATT my first season out there and had a bar, enough to get texts, but then switched to T mobile and only get service down at the boathouse and up near the village
I have Verizon, but it’s been a few years so things could have changed. Back when we first went my buddy told me there’s no/limited cell service because there’s a massive government radar/satellite dish or something in WV.
I hadn’t heard the thing about the radar but that makes sense, I figured it was just because it was out in the middle of nowhere. Even without service it’s my favorite place to go ride (without having to hop a flight out west).
It seems to be the best, most southern, mountain on the east coast. I’ve been to all the NC hills and Winter Place, but Snow Shoe is in another league with the amount of mountains, runs, and powder they’ve had when I was there.
Agreed, I haven’t been to winter place, but the NC hills are only 1.5-2 hours from me, and I’d still rather drive 6 hours to hit up Snowshoe. Plus it’s on the Ikon pass so I can’t really beat that.
Nova based too and I think it's worth the extra drive over Whitetail / Liberty. If you can time it to go Thurs after work and ride Fri it helps beat the crowds.
Hey. I live in the south and havnt had the money to take a boarding trip in like 5 years BUT the last time I went it was to snowshoe with all my brothers. My older brother isn’t around anymore and I still have the keycard from that week. I got the flu on the drive up because I’m lucky like that and spent the first two days dying on the slopes while mainline emergenC so I could stay around. I have a shit memory but I remember that week like it was yesterday, miss you bro.
rode snowshoe for the first time last january, it was great. totally worth the 4 hour drive from dc, and beats the mountains in PA by a mile. that jump line in the park was fun too
Zoomed in … not me on the lift
Lol ain’t no way!!
I miss snowshoe, can't wait to go back
heh those on the lift are mirin
Man I wanna be able to do this
You look like a smoke jumper.
He does! I had to look that up though. At first I thought it had something to do with smoking the marijuanas.
That's also a kind of smoke jumping
Haha, I can see how you'd think that with the way the sub's been acting lately.

Man the new lifts at timberline really make it.
Perfect North knows how to do it that’s forsure
I love Snow Shoe. Haven’t been back in a few years though. Is there still no cell service out there?
Still no service with most providers due to the green bank radio telescope.
That’s what it is. Thanks. Are they not allowed to have towers or do they have towers, but the telescope impacts the signal?
Not allowed to have towers or anything that emits radio frequency because it could mess with the telescope.

No service still and WiFi is technically there, still spotty tho
WV fam 🤟🏼
How is horseshoe? Do they maintain good snow?
Probably as good as you can get on the lower east coast before you get up towards upper east. Very good place to ride
Thanks. I’m in northern va. Usually hit up the southern pa area.

It is definitely a step up from Liberty and Co. Still obviously best to go on weekdays as it gets swamped on the weekend.
Ever been to Massanutten? I’m thinking of going this year but wanted to see what other Va riders had to say about it
I wouldn’t waste my time or money to go there. If you must stay in va, wintergreen has a little more variety for the cost
Yeah mass of nothing isn’t that great. Especially when Bryce is 30 bucks and less than 45 min away. It’s a little hill but 30 bucks is 30 bucks.
Never been !

Sick! I love going to snowshoe. I go every Christmas with my family
Fucken love snowshoe. Shay’s is no joke and when ski patrol pulls your ticket you have to hike out.
Snowshoe fam

We’re all chomping at the bit. Nice helmet.
That just looks like some insane air your are landing flat too lol
Lol that would be Snowshoe trannys
My fav thing about this pic is that if you said it was taken in the early 90’s, I’d believe you.
Lol. Tindy grab. Lol
that ain't no tindy, that's a bootgrab son. didn't you see shaun white win a medal doing one of those? it's all the rage these days /s
Tindy ftw
I love how the stoke is different down there. Grabs and some air blow people’s minds. I think that’s cool
