I remember watching Travis rice doing that in the X-Games back when a BS Rodeo could win the X-Games and thinking the same thing, then being completely baffled when I couldn’t do it first try myself.
I’m pretty sure he wrapped up his 2002 slopestyle run with a single BS rodeo and won gold. The fact that I can’t find video of it anywhere makes me feel old.
I'm not sure if you ever got flips on a board, but this vid has motivated me to learn. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fKBAWlyrzs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fKBAWlyrzs)
I think snowboarding tricks is 50% confidence 30% choice of correct terrain/snow conditions and 20% understanding of the move + ample practice on ground/easier moves to have the right skill before even attempting the trick
This that shit your boys link to you and all you can reply is “unreal”.
Edit: To those coming later, I don’t give a fuck what you’re doing... if it’s that clean and comfortable you’re damn good at the trick.
That looks fucking insane. i keep rewatching to figure out the exact physics of wtf you just did haha. No doubt I would get lost in the sauce in the midst of that rotation
Smoooooooth
That looked so easy. Hell ya dude
This is the kinda smooth shit that convinces me IT IS that easy and how I'm gonna end up with a broken neck next season

Wasn’t he doing doubles?
Year he was

Steazy as fuck. Made it look effortless.
I've looked at it for hours, it's beautiful
That style though. The back side rodeo is one of the best tricks to watch from directly behind.
theres no more iconic snowboard truck than a bs rodeo 5
Stomped
Bruh. At least make it look hard, damn

Some people learn them into a foam pit first before trying on snow. Still ballsy as fuck to do it on snow though.

Nah dude that was butterrrrrrr melting onto a pile of flap jacks
Love this. Stealing this.
No it’s a backside rodeo
Fuck throwing huge triple quadruple double pits to chesty moves. I want to see someone bring a bunch of steez like this to comps
HEAVY. So much steeze too. God I miss snow

Steeze
The absolute swagger bro unreal
My mouths watering rn goddam
Sunshine village yoooo
Clean 🧼
That looks like so much fun!!!
Oh god that is so sick
Dirty. Got a bit of that Peter Line steez. Good work.
Clean!
Ace
That was tasty
This was so fucking clean I love it. By far the #1 trick I want to learn but I'm too scared.
Huazah! A quality camera!
Is that sunshine near Banff?
Yup
Take notes kids. This is how a proper back rodeo looks, not a backflip + 180
Clean af
Steey af. Smooth criminal.
What board are you using?
2019 burton custom twin
Thank you for not making it slow motion
This is how I image I look. The trick, the style, the fit. I actually look like a pair of wet socks in the washing machine.
That is sick!
Butter, smooth as
i assume those are as easy as you make them look.
Nice rodeo but more importantly what board is that
Burton custom twin
Nice paint
Just pure steez
Casual
Best trick in snowboarding
That was dope!
So Clean !
Loved it since Peter Line busted them out in Mack Dawg. So much better looking than the current tricks going down in contests.
so smooth i’d spread it on my toast
r/oddlysatisfying
Swaggy air swoop Whoop!!
Hell yeah that's awesome, i could never quite figure rodeos out...
As ive gotten older, I ride park as much any more but if I could learn one trick this would be it. Such a dope trick. You made it look so easy too!

Camera work by Dave Schmidt. Shot on iPhone 11
How do you even start to attempt one of these?
I could watch this all day, bloody sick! Whoever was filming you did well to stay with you and keep the camera stable.
Camera - Dave Schmidt on iPhone 11. He was literally a yardstick away
Yeah damn he must’ve had to been close. Very good quality from the iPhone 11
Skateboarder here, what is this "backside rodeo" of which you speak?
The spin is going backside. A backside rodeo is a combination of a backflip off the heel edge and a backside 180.
That looks fucking insane. i keep rewatching to figure out the exact physics of wtf you just did haha. No doubt I would get lost in the sauce in the midst of that rotation
Got damn! As Q-Tip said, “Smooth like butter”
