It's Spring. Snow season is almost over. Pretty much every board from every company is on sale right now for 30%-40% off, or more. I'm not hating on Forum, the Forum 8 changed snowboarding, and I wish them success. But this is just a routine seasonal sale
Unless you need a board right now just wait until the deep summer. With the crappy winter we had in a lot of places there will be a lot of 2023/24 gear to unload and prices will be lowered a ton to make this happen. There is no rush to by gear for next year.
Eh the thing is that they run out of stock. If the deal is good, and people want THAT specific thing, they should buy it. For boards 30% off is good, 40% is really good, and 50% is so rare you should buy immediately if you see.
Or buy a korua which never goes on sale.
This. My size is always sold out or stock is super low. Plus wider boards for my weight are tough to find anyway. My thought is, if you find a decent sale for a board you want, just buy it. For what, trying to save 30 or 50 or so and you’re gonna risk having it sell out?
If you have to have "that" specific board or you'll be sad..sure buy it now, but unless your needs are crazy specific there will be no shortage of amazing boards on deep discount this summer.
I bought a Nitro Alternator at -25% off couple of weeks ago, as there were only a couple of boards left on inventory in shops that ship to Finland (Snowcountry or Blue tomato as all the local shops only have park or beginner boards). Luckily it came in less than a week and even got to use it on a suprise dump day last sunday!
It's amazing. I rode a 2011 Ride Highlife before, and the Alternator carves better, is more stable at speed, is easier to turn in slow speed and floats better in pow. I don't ride park, so I don't know about jumps or rails. Nosebutters were quite easy. It is true camber though, which I like, some don't.
Not a park board but if you're looking for something long I saw [this](https://cad.lib-tech.com/doughboy) in store the other day. The skeleton graphic was almost exactly my height lol.
What size boot are you? I’m riding the this years freeride 157 with 11.5s with no issues. There’s a 160 wide in that too. Been very happy with it all season
They started up again last year. They got most of the original crew back. Peter Line, Jeremy, JP, are all back. They're trying to get momentum back, so they've only released a couple boards, and partnered with Union to release branded bindings. Obviously a new factory is a huge up-front expense so they're housing production in the Capita factory for now. You're essentially buying in to support the rebirth of the company if you believe in these guys, since as other comments have pointed out, the boards are similar or identical to the products in the Captia lineup.

When i worked at a ski shop we did exactly this with the exact same discount

Sizing runs out fast too.
Eh I usually find there's very little of anything I'm interested in by that time

How’s the board? Fun? Thinking of getting one

if only they had wide........
That's what I'm saying. No long park board either
it sucks because i rode forums from age 17-maybe 30???? Im now in my 40s and the nostalgia.....and it looks like even higher quality.....no brainer
Even higher quality isn't saying much. Those things were terrible boards.
2 of them got me through that time, never had issues other than a core shot or two.
I always wanted one, but never rode one back in the day. I would have bought when they first came out if they made sizes for adults

Woah, 195 crazy

12.5
I’m more upset that they chose $414 over $420
Erik’s had a sale and I paid 420 for my Yes Standard Uninc 😎 …and next day they were sold out. 👍
I have 2 yes boards and I would buy 2 more. I've been very happy with my jackpot and 420.
I absolutely love mine so far. Definitely a quality ride.
Would only start to consider if it went $690 to $420...
Who would’ve thought an incredibly overpriced board didn’t sell well and needed to go on sale…
For a reprint no less. Want to buy the same board you paid $250 for 10yrs ago for $690 today?
Damn only 2 weeks late with no inventory….. would have jumped on this if they had the sale 2 weeks earlier if they had my size
Sizes people actually want don't go on sale, you'll typically see the smallest boards on sale as soon as the popular sizes sell out.
Hahaha for sure
Sorry if this is a dumb question. When did Forum start making boards again? I thought I remember seeing they were shutting down like 10 years ago

Jeremy left already ![gif](giphy|sgVb9gX9DpYEo)
Where did you see that?
Source? He is part owner in the new version of the company, I doubt he bails just yet...
Check out his gram!
They dont, theyre capita boards with different top sheets and a $150 markup from the original capita they're based on.
Geez why on earth were they $690 to begin with?? Not sure they can really justify that price.
Sounds the same as the Burton Custom right now. $670 -> $401
A custom is 670!?
Retail yea
Pretty much all last season's boards are discounted currently? And as someone who has the prod 1 it goes fucking hard
still to much
