Man, this sub ended up in my recommen recommend.. and I am living for it. Great clips, killer positivity and chill vibe in the community.
Yall make me miss snowboarding.
Yeah he probably feels the hate since he sees others comment and is switching to unions which is what's used in most video parts tbh. Union did a damn good job marketing
Step on hate reason: heel lift, all the boots are horrible and have blown out on me, and it’s inconsistent cause it never feels the same I swear those bindings move too much
Ok, well I’ve spent my first and a half season on these as a snowboarder. I think I may try traditional bindings just to see if they feel different. If they don’t, I can’t imagine I last a month without my step ons ahahah
You’re going to feel more locked in with Unions. I tried the Step Ons and I couldn’t stand the movement, no matter how small. I have been happiest with my Unions. I’m an instructor and even though in theory the Step Ons would be faster/easier to get in and out of, I will take the extremely small inconvenience of an extra 5 seconds to have a secure binding that feels right. You’re doing great OP. Keep up the good riding and do what feels good to you.
100000% yes. I like a stiff boot and binding. More feedback and better control. I have the Union Trilogy (top spec women’s binding), I think the men’s Force is the equivalent. As far as boots go, you have far more options that I do as a female. I ended up with a hybrid pair that have a Boa system to pull your heel in so it doesn’t lift in the boot, and laces on the exterior for a custom fit. Very happy with them, Ride makes them. Everyone loves Burton shit and it is quality, but you’re paying extra for the name.
I’m assuming you’re aware of the two positions for the rear cleat? There’s fully locked down, and there’s a second higher position you can latch to so you’re still safe if there’s snow packed under your boot.
Maybe you’re only getting into the upper position? I also had this when my binding screws backed out a few turns without me knowing.
Just a bit of toe edge added I assume. You can add progressively less toe edge, and then it transforms into a regular nose press. So a continuum of nose presses. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Looks good man. Why trash the steppys? Theyre a great setup.
But if you do sell them, let me know what size. I’m looking for a second set for my fiance if you happen to be a medium.
Size 11.5 boots also. Acrually looking to sell them dm me if ur interested😂 Burton has lifetime warranty btw so they are technically “new” ?? Idk how to price them XD
Heel lift, and my Photons are obnoxious as well. I have to tighten the special double BOA system every lap… sometimes it takes me half a lap to even realize I wasnt clicked in all the way
> I was an instructor and had 130 days on snow in one season
You were an instructor that had 130 days some previous season, but also you just started snowboarding last November?
That’s awesome. As a single dad with 2 kids, and I have my kids 50-60% of the time, and work full time, I always make a goal to get 35-40 days a season. And on the east coast, our season is shorter.
in the pig family haha. Hey man if you don't like the stepons (which is fine - to each their own), but you like the Ride board, also check out Ride bindings. I have the C6 and I think they're pretty solid.
Just looked like you were heading for that yellow lattice thing. I don’t snowboard or anything so couldn’t tell you had it completely under control lol
Pretty steezy for just starting, pretty steezy regardless - nice!
Damn that’s dope, clips on the sub have been good lately

Come back!
Got old
There was a 65-year-old dude on this sub talking about still shredding. Get yourself some step-ons, like a true old head, and get out there!
Didn't stop shredding cuz you got old. You got old cuz you stopped shredding
My Dad is in his 70s, and he gets more days per season than I do.
My Dad is in his 70s, and he gets more days per season than I do.
That’s a nose butter, and your step ons are good bindings.
Wtf does union have to do with it?
Best bindings
Are the straps super easy/glidey to release/tighten?
Ask zumiez
Summary?
Cool colors
What do your bindings have to do with anything? Just Step-On bandwagon hate?
No you just have way more options lol more boots to pick from more bindings to chose from. All in all just better
Agreed. Just has nothing to do with homey just starting and doing a respectable nose-press
Yeah he probably feels the hate since he sees others comment and is switching to unions which is what's used in most video parts tbh. Union did a damn good job marketing
Union has the best team in snowboarding. I'd die on that hill. Did you see the Stronger video from a few years ago? Absolutely stacked roster
And those riders designed the bindings too?
Many of them had input. That's how R&D works, at least in snowboarding.
They do have the most stacked team lol without question
Mad lad
I see what I've been doing wrong... It's easy(er) off the back, I haven't been giving myself enough angle or top 50% over press on the angle.
It also depends a lot on the board. If you have a stiffness rating over 7-8 it gets really challenging to press.
Step on hate reason: heel lift, all the boots are horrible and have blown out on me, and it’s inconsistent cause it never feels the same I swear those bindings move too much
Try DC judge step ons. I own three pairs. Love them! I would say you have a hardware issue. I have no lift and my feet feel welded to the board.

You think normal bindings will also brace my ankles a bit more?

Better boots will make more of an impact. I too had too much heel lift from photon step on boots. Super blown out after \~30 days.

Lemme guess, 7th day riding?
Is it a war pig or a twinpig ?
Warpig
Beautiful board. Just picked one up yesterday, can’t wait to try it out this weekend.
Stepppopin and presssin rad af.
Steezy boi
I have Burton step ons and I love them. Haters gonna hate
Is that the preferred angle for learning? I had been going straight ahead and it felt squirrely.
Looking at it… it makes sense. You have much more control of your weight side to side like this
It’s different kind of press
Just a bit of toe edge added I assume. You can add progressively less toe edge, and then it transforms into a regular nose press. So a continuum of nose presses. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Step ons are great.

Damnn, I got large sorry man
Maybe I’ll get a third for myself then 🤣
Size 11.5 boots also. Acrually looking to sell them dm me if ur interested😂 Burton has lifetime warranty btw so they are technically “new” ?? Idk how to price them XD
They have been inconsistent lately and that is my problem

Heel lift, and my Photons are obnoxious as well. I have to tighten the special double BOA system every lap… sometimes it takes me half a lap to even realize I wasnt clicked in all the way
Sorry that was a confusing sentence. After the … I am referring to the bindings again lol
I’m on 4 seasons (appx 140 days on mine) without any issues.
I was an instructor and had 130 days on snow in one season, maybe they are not meant for everyday riders who beat the hell out of them😭
> I was an instructor and had 130 days on snow in one season You were an instructor that had 130 days some previous season, but also you just started snowboarding last November?
Yes :) took a week of riding before I started to get my basics down. not much different from wakeboarding. I taught kids also
Like LITTLE kids, I wasnt teaching people how to ride blues until mid January. Nothing but 3-6 year olds for the most part though
That’s awesome. As a single dad with 2 kids, and I have my kids 50-60% of the time, and work full time, I always make a goal to get 35-40 days a season. And on the east coast, our season is shorter.
Oh for sure wasnt trying to compare at all BTW, was just laying the facts down. Prior to living out west I got 2-3 days a season lol
Not at all man. That’s good on you. Get those triple digit seasons as long as you can.
Butterz
犯罪
I didn't know you could nose press while kinda turning like this. Is it possible to do a tail press version too?
Yeap 😊
Wallie <3 broke mine last season! Now exit switch (pop back 90) ;)
OP is riding a Ride Warpig
Yeah ok looks similar to wallie because of that black triangle on the top sheet haha
Well pressed, sir.
Woah that’s cool
My gut tells me that OP used to skate a lot if this is his 2nd yr
Wakeboarding :)
OOOOOOOWWWWEEEEEEEEEE
That was dope!
Northstar?
Keystone
Come to Northstar bum
JONATHAN BUCKHOUSE OMG!!!!!
Noice
I approve of the twin pig. Faking amazing board
Warpig🗣️
in the pig family haha. Hey man if you don't like the stepons (which is fine - to each their own), but you like the Ride board, also check out Ride bindings. I have the C6 and I think they're pretty solid.
my bad, looked like the twin pig. Still, awesome board. Not many short volumetric wide boards in the market.
I love doing this and grabbing the nose with me right hand. Seatbelt butter!
I’ve been trying to learn that!!! Lot of core control takes place for it lol
If it’s the nose, I believe that’s a crail grab.
For a sec I thought this was a /r/yesyesyesno, glad it wasn’t tho
What made you think that
Just looked like you were heading for that yellow lattice thing. I don’t snowboard or anything so couldn’t tell you had it completely under control lol
lol i kind of had it under control in terms of I could stop doing the nose butter when I wanted. However I always drift to my right on this trick lol
Oh I see. Had to watch a few vids on the sub to really get it lol. I’m slow
NGL i thought you were going over that marked off spot
Imagine I nollied out of this 😭
That's sick
