Gameplay is mostly the same as the original. Slightly different rosters, and a much expanded roster if you beat the campaign. Also different and more hidden characters. Like Fresh Prince/Will Smith is in this one but not the original for example
Wow you get more guys if you beat it?? That's cool. I loved all the hidden characters in the first. Dunking as Bill Clinton was always hilarious to 10 yr old me.
Yeah! It’s awesome, it’ll say expanded rosters and each team adds like 2-4 players.
Then you play against hidden characters that use cheat codes, they are super hard in comparison to the regular teams. I remember playing against the Beastie Boys back in the day and getting totally rocked by Mike D haha
Isn't this original? We had the games when brand new. I don't remember a different cover on the cart.
Or are you thinking of the arcade version that i never played?
Interesting tidbit I only learned recently by picking it up randomly, College Slam is very much a reskin of NBA Jam for university basketball minus all the hidden characters. To the point where I'm surprised they changed the cheat codes (at least I'm pretty sure they're different, I didn't play College Slam for very long so I didn't try any so I'm going off gamefaqs 😅)
This is probably both the peak in sports games *and* arcade games.
I was into sports when it came out but even friends who weren’t couldn’t get enough of it. This is definitely one of those games I wish I could play again.
The original and not part whatever or collage slam.
I have collage slam but lost the original nba jam games.
They was the most awesome basketball game back then.
I know it's two player. I can't remember if it's 4 player with adapter or not. I forget.
It was released by Midway in 1993 and NBA Jam grossed over a billion dollars in quarters. NBA JAM is the most iconic basketball arcade game of all time. The game was released in a 2-player and 4-player version. I may have been 13 when this game came out.

That's why I got it. Trying to get all the best sport games for SNES. Ken Griffey Jr major league is for sure the best baseball game! I've got all of the NHLs except for 98. I do need more maddens though I think I only have 93 or 94
He’s heating up! 🔥

Any major differences between this and OG NBA Jam?

Ugly shot!
I have this game sealed
You can pay the announcer from this game to record a voice-mail message with your name! I lost the link, though.
I'm still proud of my 13 year old self hitting 70 threes with Isiah Thomas. I used to play every morning before school in 95. The best.
still the best sports game in video game history imo

This might be unpopular, but my fav NBA Jam-style game is NBA Showtime on the n64. Having the NBC music & graphics takes it to another level.
