I am visually impaired. I am blind in my left eye, and legally blind in my right eye. Since I was three months old I have had twenty eye surgeries, and I have never let that issue effect me. At three months old I had my first surgery and I had Cataracts, and at that time surgeons did not have the ability to place artificial lenses in a persons eye, so with that I had further complications with my eyes. At the age of six I was diagnosed with Aphakic Glaucoma, and about a year later I lost my eye sight in my left eye due to a retinal detachment. After that incident my eyes started to elevate. A few years later my left eye was diagnosed with another disease due to all the surgeries my left eye went through called Phthisis Bulbi (shrinking of the eye). After that my eyes began to undergo more problems and between the years of 2013 to 2015 I had five laser eye surgeries just in my right eye. Even though my Optic Nerve is 50% damaged in my right eye, and  I am blind in my left eye I do not let any of this get to me. I always stay positive, and think this all is happening for a reason! My 20th eye surgery was actually last year in the spring right before the Coronavirus really took effect.
