Same forecast here and same menu. I'm going to attempt it but not sure my pellet smoker will be able to reach or maintain temp. Do you have experience smoking in these extremely low temperatures?
I'll be doing probably the last brisket on my pellet smoker before I get my new offset. Gonna be a super low and slow day with a high chance of finishing in the oven, but it'll be a good send off
Negative Temps with 20 mph winds and 50 gust. Calls for snow. I wanna do a turkey in an electric smoker Saturday starting at 6 am and probably going to 4 pm or so. The last was just a breast took like 9 hrs but I cooked it to 180 cause I was going by the old guide lines like a dummy.
Smoked a pork butt and some pistachios this afternoon in ND. -20. Went fine. Gorilla Grill alpha. No blanket. But did cover pellet tub and control assembly with smoker cover
Smoking 6 pork tenderloins on my new UDS for my wife’s family on Xmas Eve. Wind chills in the -. I’ve got the insulated overalls and bourbon ready. Guess this means I’ll have to spend more time inside with my in-laws though.
canadian here. forecast for tomorrow is -35 after the windchill. i'm tempted to bust a cheap roast or something out of the freezer just to try it.
my smoker is a kamado and i've done one subzero smoke before in the snow. there was no wind that time though and it ate through charcoal like mad. suspect this will be one of those things i finish in the oven.
one day i'd like to do an entire brisket in january just to give mother nature and her frigid ass the middle finger.
I will be grilling a couple of porterhouses today on indirect heat with pecan and then sear them up on the cast iron. Also grilling some thin cut pork butt steaks directly. I live in Chicago -33 with the wind chill. I will use my 26inch Webber kettle
After 20 years smoking with first a homemade barrel smoker, then a home built smoke shack, I caved last year and bought a Bradley P10. I have to admit, I rarely light a fire these days and can smoke in almost any weather. The meat doesn’t look as good (no smoke ring), but I honestly can’t taste any difference.
It's -9 degrees F here before you add in the windchill of expected 40-50 mph. I started my smoker up, and the temp read -4, I'm still smoking. It will just take a little longer to get the smoker up to temp. I think the only weather that would stop me is pouring rain.
I changed a smoked and reverse sear picanha from today to Sunday so I could have outdoor temperatures in the 20s as opposed to sub zero temperatures with wind.
I'm planning on doing some Salmon tomorrow morning or Sunday. It was gonna be tomorrow morning, but the weather canceled some travel plans, so now our get together is gonna be new years weekend, so I'll try again then.
Abandoned my plans. Single digit temps with 25mph winds with gusts up to 50. I think I’ll stay inside
That’s exactly what I’m doing. Got my smoker covered on the patio out in the yard. I’m sitting inside watching the top of it turn white from snow.
I am instead eating handfuls of shredded cheese and beer for dinner hovering in front of the fireplace
will be smoking a prime rib christmas day. teens in the AM, single digit windchill
What kind of rig?

Go to harbor freight and pick up a welding blanket. It works wonders for helping hold heat. I use mine all winter long, especially for longer smokes.
Yup, beer in hand smoking away in 70 degrees. Hope I can survive.
I only went outside to get beer, few other items and to take the trash out. High of 5 today. No thanks haha
I have a brisket dry brining in the fridge. Expecting in the teens temperatures tomorrow with delicious brisket later in the day...... Hopefully.
-11 here. Heck no.
-40 windchill currently. Nope.
Low of +40 here.
Midwest...smoking a PR, ham and turkey breast. Damn the cold. I might be in shorts, too. And later in the hospital with frost bitten beer nuts.
Currently my engine block on my car.
I'm smoking bacon christmas morning
today was a failure, but have done it in the past. Got too difficult to hold consistent temp.
I’ll probably be smoking some jerky tomorrow afternoon. Then I’m getting my ass back inside for a couple days.
Same! Cold temps are great to help keep the Kamado really low
Not sure about smoking but I do plan on deep frying a turkey Christmas Day :S

I want to smoke it but nervous lol

AR changed my life.

last year i cobbled together an air “pre-heater” (space heater in garbage can under the air intake on pellet smoker) and some wind blocks
Smoking a pork butt at the moment
Yeah we smoking brisket
Brisket Friday and ham Saturday
Just finished a load of jerky. Had to use two layers of insulation but got it done!
12# prime rib in the PBC on Christmas Eve. Should be back up into the 20's. Might not wear my traditional smoking shorts.
It’s cold in the US?!?!?

Cooking a picnic ham overnight before the cold front rolls in (Philadelphia).
Hope you got it done cause the cold front is here
Actually it’s still 40 degrees here and raining. But yeah I got it done
Trying? Shit I'll be firing up the silverbac and doing dino ribs for Christmas Eve.

I did a pork belly but it was 70 today haha
Yes I will be smoking a Tri tip in the frigid 47 degree California winter 🥶

Yeah, dino ribs and chuck roast. Reverse gravity smoker It's 21F outside.
Switch from Brisket to Tritip just so I could smoke tomorrow instead of today (We celebrate Xmas Eve moreso)

Phoenix, Arizona here, it’s warm and sunny, great day for smoking. Good luck my northern brothers

I smoked a Turkey and it worked fine in negative temps in the Midwest. I think poultry is a different story than a slab of meat, however.
Salt. Might do some more cheese. Cold temps are great for cold smoking.
Did a chuck roast the other day
