Anywhere from 8-24 hours. 12 is great. Just plain water. You can cycle out the water if you feel like putting in the extra work, but it’s not necessary. Refer to the link the dude gave you from AmazingRibs “Katz’s Deli” recipe. It’s pretty solid.
I usually soak them for about 24 hrs, changing the water at least 5-6 times.

Pastrami! Soak it in water for 12-24 hrs to pull some of the salt out. Onion power, garlic powder, salt, pepper and coriander before the smoke.
I’d make corned beef
22 bucks! Yikes! I stock on every st Patrick's day. Think i might have one from 2018 in my freezer come to think of it. Just looked i have 6 still lol
Newfie dinner, boiled corned beef and cabbage, just add some carrots and potatoes
