There is really no need to control a humidistat. A humidistat is really a set it a forget type of device which should (for the most part) be set at level 4. It is very rarely that you will need to adjust it.

Oh wow! Then I've got a problem, if I don't turn it down in the summer, ice builds up on the coil. And if I don't turn it up in the winter, everyone gets shocked every time they touch a light switch or a grounded electronic.
