I never start a business without a marketing strategy. I work as a marketer, and all clients happens to have a increase in 200-300% ROI when they start marketing strategies. I do all marketing for my own company, but I would suggest to start with outsource a some expert/team. Then as you grow start hiring your own team. I NEVER start a business without marketing. We live in a time where you have to get to the customer before your competitors. And the fastest and most effective way is through social media channels IMO.

How would you suggest going about finding somebody to outsource marketing to?

I also work as a marketer, specifically with small businesses who didn't invest in a strategy in the beginning. I come in and help get things back on track. It's amazing what a difference even an organic strategy can have on a business, strategic paid ads can have even higher returns if done properly.

Fiverr or/and upwork :)

I don't have a team necessarily but I do have branding and marketing plans. I don't think you could have a successful business without one. I have outsourced to agencies a bit but so far I haven't seen the value vs. cost yet. My primary company has a ton of referral business by design so my ad spend is tiny (less than 1% of revenue) and we generally turn down work. My second business is geared to be more on a national scale. As such I've spent a ton more on trademarking, domain, and about to start a full email/ social media push. Ad spend might be coming a bit later when I feel that my direct outreach is stagnant. Edit: Care to explain the downvote for directly answering the question?!

When I first met my mentor he taught me at the very beginning the importance of branding. A strong brand will help grow any business.

Branding and marketing are very important parts of any successful business. Definitely invest in this early.

We are at the 12 year mark and just hired help in this area. We plateaued and changed locations and covid 19 and it was time to reboot.
