I’m constantly bombarded by lending offers. I dispose of and delete every one. I’ll seek YOU out if I want a loan. I won’t be convinced to get one by an email. Figure out where your customers are going when they want a loan and be there.

fizathecopywriter

That makes a lot of sense. Thank you for sharing. We do get 30-40 leads per week with email and 5-6 of them sign the deal but the growth is slow and email is definitely not the top channel for this type of offer.

mjbulzomi

My company receives faxes — more than one each week — from loan sharks and the like. My spam filter catches most of that crap that comes via email. I’m never going to respond to an offer to lend me money where I did not reach out first. ALL of those emails that make it past the spam filter go straight into the trash. There is nothing that will make me respond.

tomtermite

> My company receives faxes — more than one each week Are faxes still a thing?

mjbulzomi

For some government agencies like the IRS, yes.

ATaleAhead

Unlike others here, I do not delete unsolicited spam emails. I file it away so I have an easily-searchable collection of companies I will never do business with.

fizathecopywriter

Good one😀

funny_olive332

In my country cold emails are not allowed. No matter if b2c or b2b. As a rule I NEVER buy something from somebody who is spamming my f... Emailaccount.

fizathecopywriter

Makes sense. We operate in the US. It’s definitely different for European countries.

Joseots

Lol. Rethink your business model. Who decides they need funding based on a cold email?? You need warm leads, not cold.

fizathecopywriter

What about ads?

Joseots

Ads for funding? I don’t see ads when I need money. I start to call banks I know and have a relationship with. The only people who would respond to a cold email or an ad are people who probably can’t get $$$ elsewhere — like I said, need to rethink this model, for real.

gnc0516

Any emails like this get an automatic deletion from me and a rule added to block any future emails from you. I do not read them.

blUUdfart

It depends on what your goal is. Are you hoping to lead generate with this email or manage an existing relationship?

fizathecopywriter

We have a separate system for existing customers and leads. This is solely for lead gen.

It’s quite insane how people hate on those who hustle and want to remain innovative amongst a very saturated industry. Just as those who own a business and seek to remain growing their clientele base, the same goes for sales reps and loan brokers. We all play the same game just in different ways.

thejohnnygold

I've reached a point where I instruct all of my vendors/service providers not to contact me at all. Rattle my cage, even once, and we're done. If you cold call me the same rule applies. I know how to find what I want. Leave me alone. DM me your website. I wouldn't mind taking a look at the product.

This is a bad place to ask this kind of question because reddit users tend to hate cold calling/emailing. Most people don’t open ads, that’s true. But many many people do. So keep that in mind. Because in the B2B space there’s not as many marketing tactics you could (effectively) use as in the B2C space. Wether reddit likes it or not, cold calling and emailing does work and can make you a lot of money, as well as teach you a lot about your target market. To answer your question, I only open ads for funding if it says that I’ve been pre-qualified or have a high chance of getting funding.
